this was a really well done psychological thriller, it was a great take on this genre. The characters were interesting and did everything that they were what I was hoping for. It was what I wanted in this genre and really loved the way it was written. I enjoyed the way Marissa Finch wrote this and hope Ms. Finch continues writing.

Liars Anonymous is such a clever idea. Talk about unreliable narrators! It is told from a range of perspectives and keeps you guessing as the mystery unfolds. Some parts are more obvious than others but it all ties up into one first class mystery with plenty of fascinating - and largely unpleasant - characters.

I absolutely was enamoured with this unique, fun yet twisted premise that Finch cooked up & served like a perfect Thanksgiving dinner! The unique plot had me salivating at times with each twist and turn that was so unexpected. Even half way through, when I thought I was onto something and had an idea, she totally braked the thriller car and did an illegal U-turn that set me spiralling and absolutely thrown off course! I couldn't believe how she ended it that left me shook and unbelievably, undeniably speechless! Like a jolt to the heart with a defibrillator, I was shocked not once, not twice, but freakin' three times! How I didn't end up in cardiac arrest is beyond me. But dear heavens & for the love of left over Halloween chocolate, I was done for! I love the unreliable-ness and uncertainty with characters who depend on lying. Another fantastic hit by Finch!

You get lies, deception, double crosses, triple crosses, mayhem, madness, collateral damage, murder, and a whole lot of twisted fun from this runaway train novel written by the talented Marissa Finch!

Liars Anonymous is a group of hand selected liars put together by therapist Dr. Quick as a way to study, document, and write about what makes these people tick, and if and how they can be rehabilitated. Containing two members ordered by the court to attend, and the rest screened by Dr. Quick herself, this is not like a typical AA group where people come and go. These participants must meet once a week at the designed location and must participate in the therapy. As time is progressing, a member of their group is found murdered … by other members of the group. Think you can guess how this will go? Of course you can! They are ALL liars and they all have something to gain, a score to settle, and just flat out untruths to spin around and around.

This book is told through alternating views of Marnie and Naomi, both participants in the group, and both with tons to gain and lose as well as to coverup and lie about. From the start this book sucks you in hard and has you trying to cipher through all the information and misinformation you’re being given through the tales of the players. This is high octane fun at its best and the ending blew me away! Hang on to your seat for this thrill ride! Lucky for you… you only have to wait until November 17, 2022 to grab this gem up and pull up a seat at Liars Anonymous for your own front row seat! Don’t worry, we do serve donuts and burnt coffee!

Highly recommended for anyone who likes mystery/ thrillers, who dunnits, and anyone who’s ever loved playing that game … bull hockey… there’s not two truths and a lie here … they’re ALL lies. Strap in and have fun with this one! It could be one of my favorites for 2022.

When one member dies, the stories that have been told in their group quickly fall apart. Eventually the truth is revealed…or is it?!? This was hard to put down! Enjoyed it!!!

This was so incredibly good. I could not put this down or turn the pages fast enough!

Liars Anonymous is exactly what it sounds like — a hand selected support group of individuals that are all compulsive and pathological liars. This makes for such an interesting thriller where every single character is unreliable. Pair that with a murder to solve, who are you supposed to trust? No one.

This book is split into 4 parts, the first 50% is told through Marnie’s pov, and the latter 50% is told through Naomi’s pov.

From the beginning, there’s a great setting — stale coffee, donuts, an oncoming blizzard. The writing pulls you in and you can’t help but to be swayed by whoever is speaking.
Claire comes off as this innocent boho girl, that’ll unearth your maternal instincts. She claims that she’s pregnant and has a stalker ex-boyfriend, but is that really the full story?

There are so many links connecting each and every character. The last 10% had my mouth agape and there are twists being revealed right until the last few pages in the epilogue.

I highly recommend checking this one out! Dare I say it might even make it’s way into my top 10 reads for the year… (I’ve read somewhere between the range of 250-300 so that’s saying a lot).

I liked the idea for this book: one full of liars. One where you can't trust anyone, not even your thoughts, since they could be based on lies. I’m happy to report my instincts were right: this book was great. From he very beginning, you’re on edge and suspicious about what everyone is saying because, for all you know, everyone is lying.

I gave it 4 stars because despite being a psychological thriller, it didn’t feel psychological, just suspenseful. It was also hard to get into the story for the first half of the book due to, of course, unreliable narrators. The main thing I picked up on is that the first narrator, Marnie, explains that the main difference between pathological and compulsive liars is that pathological liars feel no remorse over lying because they’re usually psychopaths or sociopaths, so they don’t feel anything at all. She says (or claims) she’s a pathological liar, but we don’t know why she was accepted into the Liars Anonymous group, and she’s constantly experiencing different emotions. This was pointed out to me every time she 'felt' something, and I was hoping we’d get an explanation for that or that it would make sense later on, but no.

The epilogue was my favorite part of this book. If i could rate it on its own, I’d give it 5 stars. The writing is different, better. And finally uncovering the truth? Sensational.

This was a wild ride! I love when books have unreliable narrators. The book alternates between Marnie and Naomi, two members of Liars Anonymous. I didn’t see the twist coming, which I love and the ending was shocking. In a book where everyone is lying what could possibly go wrong?

Marnie Thorpe regularly attends Liars Anonymous, a group for pathological and compulsive liars. She becomes friends with young, naive Claire. Marnie wants to help her new friend who got herself in a less than desirable situation. After disappearing from Marnie’s house, Claire is found murdered.

Marnie is determined to figure out what happened to her friend. She is convinced someone from the group killed her and that they are all in danger. Who can she trust when everyone is a liar?

An excellent and original thriller! Highly recommend to those looking for a new favorite author! The plot is literally the best!

This was great fun! All revolving around a support group for liars, a half dozen characters tell their possible stories and one of them kills another member of the group. Possibly a lie, who knows. . Told from a variety of POV’s the plot is wonderfully confusing, the pacing is excellent and the characters are all enticing. Thoroughly enjoyable with twist after twist.

I really loved this concept and the name is what had my interest immediately. If the title of this isn't hint enough, if you are the kind of person that doesn't like unreliable narrators, stay far away. I, myself, of course love it when it's done in a good way, which this was. I flew through this and was pretty entertained the entire time and the twists were there. This was a very enjoyable read and I'll give it Four Stars.

A well written story with an amazing plot. Marissa Finch's writing is compelling and she instantly sucks you into this intense story.
I enjoyed the well written/developed characters and found them to be believable.
A clever and extremely entertaining read.
I now have to read her previous work.

Liars Anonymous isn't what I was expecting at all, it was so much better and extremely clever. This is the kind of book that if I tell you anything about the characters at all I'm giving you clues.

Set around a support group, 'Liars Anonymous' everyone is (Unsurprisingly) a liar. When I say no one can be trusted I mean no one. Told from Marnie's and Naomi's points of view both characters admit they are liars. In fact Marnie will make you second guess much as she often states, 'I could be lying'. I admit reading those first two parts with Marnie and I hated Naomi. But you needed that opener with Marnie to get to know things, people. In fact what I liked about this book is we are told in the first two parts by Marnie one set of events. Then rehashed again with Naomi the same events. It's funny how things can alter, change, be lies right? Other characters in this are fairly strong and three dimensional. Easily pictured, this reminded me a lot of an old 80's mystery like Clue (If you've ever seen the film). Almost over the top at times, outrageous, yet you still want to solve that mystery.

I read this over a 24 hour period and couldn't wait to see if my hunches were right and how this would end. For some things they were, but not all. The story is well paced and although it does feel repetitive when told again from Naomi's point of view its good to hear all the things you didn't hear or maybe see the first time round. A solid 4 star read, I highly rate this one. It certainly makes me want to read other books by the author! I want to add, there are a lot of good reviews for this book and I honestly see why!

Talk about unreliable characters, my favorite kind in a suspense book!

Liars Anonymous by Marissa Finch features a support group for pathological and compulsive liars. The book alternates between two members of this club so of course the reader is kept guessing every step of the way. I loved it. I want to be surprised and enjoy the ride on a literary roller coaster.

Here’s the plot:

Marnie Thorpe is at Liars Anonymous for one reason, and it isn’t to make friends. Still, when beautiful, ephemeral Claire finds herself in trouble, Marnie steps in to help. Claire is being stalked, she says, so Marnie lets her crash at her house. She’s half convinced the whole thing is just another lie — until Claire turns up dead.

Claire’s murder unlocks something in Marnie. Memories of another loss, another young woman taken too soon. Her gut tells her someone from their group is responsible, and that none of them are safe. But how can she uncover the truth when she’s surrounded by lies?

How can she catch a killer when everyone around her is a liar?

Give me all the books with lies and deception. I can’t get enough.

A superb fast paced thriller. I absolutely loved the story and couldn’t stop reading it. It’s perfect for all readers, especially thriller lovers.

Wow! Thoroughly enjoyed this new book by Marissa Finch! Super fresh take on psyche thrillers. Great characters kept me totally invested. Tension, twists and surprising Reveals.

I didn't want to put this one down from the first chapter. Who is telling the truth in a novel titled 'Liars Anonymous'? Spoiler alert: possibly no one. A creative and enthralling story from start to finish that I highly recommend for avid lovers of mystery and thrillers.

At first this book had me wondering where this could possibly go. The narration of Marnie and the maybe I'm lying kept me guessing. I was entirely unprepared for the twists and turns and every time I "figured it out" there was another twist. If you like a thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end, this is a MUST read.

So the beauty of this book is that you go in knowing that, since your characters are part of a therapy group for liars, there’s a good chance that your characters will be extremely unreliable. Yet, as you read, you forget this!

When the author deftly reminds you that you can’t trust anyone in the book, it’s a wonderful eye-opener.

I liked the story and the characters. I was extremely curious as to the why and how of everything.

The only sour note for me was that, when all was done, the explanation is complex, convoluted and a little of everything but the kitchen sink. It’s…kind of a lot.

Fun book, though, and it was definitely entertaining!!

Character-driven for sure. And it was an excellent cast. Well developed characters that seemed like real people. And they were totally unreliable which made the mystery and twists all that much more fun and surprising. A !just read.

When Marnie thorn decides to give a ride to Claire a girl from the liars anonymous group she belongs to, she’s at first reluctant. She ultimately agrees though and winds up bringing her, but When they pulled up outside of Claire’s house she claimed to see her ex boyfriend and seem to be fearful of him. Although she knows Claire is a liar she decide is best to be on the safe side and takes her to her home, but the next morning when Marnie wakes up Claire is nowhere to be found. She is worried about Claire because Claire just told the group she was expecting a baby in although Maurnie casually checks around for Claire she doesn’t find her but what she finds out about her it’s something to worry about. The first half of the book is told through the point of view of Marnie but then it switches to another liars anonymous member Naomi she along with the rest of the group really doesn’t like Mornie but to be honest I liked Maurnie at first way better than Naomi but I digress Naomi takes the lead and she investigates Marnie. To make a long story short this was an awesome book. Everyone seems to be deceiving everyone and some people even deceive their self. I was amazed that an author could have all these loose ends and make them seem so authentic and legitimate to come to such a satisfying ending. There was one part at the very end when someone goes to make restitution or some form of that I thought they went to the wrong person but that’s neither here nor there nor a big plot point and the rest of the book is so good it doesn’t even change my reading from the five stars this book deserves. I loved it loved it loved it and couldn’t put it down! I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate most of my review.
