This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. It is a book of daily Christian readings. Women in the Bible. I like this…factual and simple.

There is a lot to appreciate about Known By God, 40 Devotions and Insights on the Women of the Bible. It contains the stories and insights from women in the Bible we are very familiar with it (such as Mary, Ruth, and others) but it also continues inspiration from women we aren’t familiar with. There are few who could name 40 women from the Bible, much less something we can learn from them, so that adds to the interest as well.

I also like that it has space to journal with questions to answer. This is something uncommon for a devotional and I see it adding a lot to the experience.

I loved it. This devotional was great. It has beautiful designs throughout the pages. This particular one has the Bible verses included in the reading. It provides you with questions to reflect and engage on what you have read. It also includes a commentary, word study or character profile and varíes by day. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. I love devotionals and have a few myself and will definitely add this one to my own library.

This was a great devotional of women of the Bible. I enjoyed reading this and it’s insight into how God worked in each of their lives. There are timeless lessons in the Bible that still apply to women today.

Devotional for Women with the Women of The Bible.

This is a devotional books directed to woman on the woman of the Bible. It consist on 40 devotionals that encourage to know the Women in the Bible and to walk along them facing and learning from the challenges they faced. Their stories are written in the Bible to teach and inspire us, to help us learn from their example and in many ways they reflect our own lives, they voice our fears, desires and passions. If we are to learn by example, let it be from the example of the famous women of the Bible.

I like that the devotional are not very short, you are to learn or review the women life and then it sets application for the contemporary woman.

May God bless you and transform you to His image and you may become the women He created you to be.

I really enjoyed this devotional. It was very insightful and I learned alot. Wasn't too heavy of read for q devotional. Loved the space for writing. I find that important with devotionals as I get older to write my thoughts down. Will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a devotional book.

Inspirational and well-written devotional book on Women of the Bible. The devotions start with women of the Bible from the Old Testament, and then women from the New Testament. Forty devotions for women about the various trials and persecutions women have gone through in the Bible. Highly recommended & wonderfully written!

This was a beautifully laid out devotional book. I liked the varying views and insights from authors sharing reflections. I enjoyed diving deeper in word studies, as well as the historical insight, and appreciated the practicality of the engagement sections.

Each devotion introduced you to women we encounter in scripture as they encountered the personal, almighty God. The layout, the printed scripture, the story-like devotions that led to a deeper dive and a place to think, write and engage with scripture were put together nicely.

Very Good Devotionals

The women writers of Our Daily Bread has done an amazing job of providing this 40-Day Journal. Each of the forty days, a notable biblical female is discussed, starting with Hagar and ending with Priscilla.

Each day the authors discusses the women in terms of their significance and the biblical scripture in which they are referenced. On certain days, there are word study sections, in which readers are to try to identify themselves in the particular woman's situation.

This is a very good and inspiring devotional that I feel is beneficial to women desiring to learn of women's role in our biblical beginning. Highly recommend.

Wonderful book by Our Daily Bread that helps us ponder through the women of the bible with scriptures, prayer and meditations, There is a lot you can learn from these women like Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel, Tamar, Miriam and so on. Not only this book was exciting to read but it helped me identify where I need to improve as a woman in my journey with God. To be honest with God, Be patient with God about my fears and Hope. To be faithful and be courageous to rise up boldly asking God to help through. This book is great tool for devotional bible reading time.

Thoughtful, relevant and hopeful 40-day devotional Known by God highlights women of the Bible, their imperfections, strengths and humanness, all used of God then and thousands of years later.

Not only are better-known women such as Hannah and Ruth discussed but so are lesser-known women such as Jochebed, Rizpah and the Shumammite woman. All were instrumental in God's word.

So much to love from learning and living lessons such as faith, trust and hospitality to word/name origins to tips such as engaging our imagination when studying Scripture. We are reminded to embrace uncertainty and that sometimes God is silent to stretch our faith. One of the most important lessons I've learned recently which is in this book is "Waiting for God's timing may give us a greater miracle than what we had hoped for." So true!

If you seek a closer relationship with our Father and desire to grow spiritually, this devotional book is for you.

It also has room for journaling your thoughts and questions to help you dig deeper in the Bible. Our Daily Bread has always had trustworthy material and I would recommend this devotional.

This devotional is written by over a dozen women who write for the publication, Our Daily Bread. Their work is edited by Anna Haggard. Forty women from the Old and New Testament of the Holy Bible are featured in this book. Scripture with text and references opens each devotion with the title, which is a name of a woman from Biblical time including Eve, Deborah, Elizabeth, Mary the mother of Jesus and more. The writer adds a personal story or observation, a word study and specifically engages with the reader at the end of the four-to five-page offering. A brief prompt for journaling, questions or a challenge is the method of engagement.
I received my advanced reader's Kindle copy of this publication from Our Daily Bread Publishing through NetGalley. This is my unsolicited opinion about the book. I liked this collection so much I will definitely read it again. The devotionals and insight into these special women who were used in various ways by God are beautiful and in depth yet simple to understand. They made me wonder about each woman, her life and the lives of those around her. I could easily associate my life and circumstances with them. I was challenged to think and imagine about their challenges, environment and blessings. It's an excellent book.

This was a great devotional. Exploring women of in the Bible along with examples from women of today. I would recommend this book to anyone.

This devotional is unique, studying the women of the bible in a devotional is something I haven't seen yet. Typically they are bible studies and workbooks, but having the option to have a short moment studying the women in a quick glimpse is so needed and necessary. These women can teach so much and the length of this daily devotional is attainable. I also love how the full passage about these women is listed in the devotion. This way it's very easy to read on an e-reader and nice that the word is included in an accessible format right in the book. This way you can easily see in one book the points made between the text and the author's comments and what she has learned and is appreciating.

Known by God, 40 Devotions and Insights on Women of the Bible by Our Daily Bread is an excellent devotional. The format, background illustrations and insight of the commentaries following the scripture is wonderfully done. I especially liked how longer passages of scriptures was given instead on just one or two verses. The reflection and engagement questions gave pause so that one could ponder before honestly answering before the Lord and myself. I especially like the word study or insight into the times or traditions of the women.

This is a devotional that I will reread again. I am thinking that it will be interesting to see how my thoughts and answers to the questions have changed over time. It is also a marvelous gift to a friend or family member. While this is a pdf for me to review, I will purchase a paper copy for myself. It is just that good.
