Kawaii Doggies is an adorable book for any young (or young at heart) artist. Each dog comes with easy to follow instructions and step by step drawings to follow. This book is a must have for any Kawaii fan!
Super cute workbook full of easy explanations for full body dogs, heads, or funny drawings with dogs in it.
I might get a physical copy for my kids when it comes out because they love dogs so much!
This book is so cute! It is filled with easy to follow step by step tutorials how to draw various kawaii dogs, there are detailed instructions how to add tiny details for breed, mood, expression. This would make a great gift for any aspiring artist or just anyone who loves all things kawaii.
As a dog lover, I was so excited for this. I love to doodle and get crafty but my physical skills don't always represent what I create in my mind. However Kawaii Dogs turned me into a Kawaii professional and I hope they come out with many more Kawaii Animal series!
Thank you Olive Yong and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy of this fun book
The most adorable little book! The cute illustrations and easy to understand instructions reduce frustration experienced by untalented artists like me to the bare minimum. Wonderful!
What about Kawaii Kitties? I really need one as I am a cat mom at the moment. But let’s wait for that.
I love this Kawaii Doggies so much! How to draw for each dog breed! It’s so fun and easy. Each page is dedicated to one particular dog breed and I really appreciate it.
Love the presentation. It feels like my birthday and you will surely feel like this if you love dogs, love cute books, and easy to practice guidebooks like this!
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point, for the advance reading copy.
I am not an artist by any means, however I still enjoy attempting to draw and doodle. This book is full of super cute dogs and is easy to follow. It makes it easy to draw even for someone who was not blessed with artistic abilities. There is a variety of breeds as well as different poses to draw the dogs in. Very cute drawings! This would also make a great gift. Easy enough for kids to use as well.
Thanks to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What a “Kawaii” (the Japanese concept of cuteness) book! It’s the 7th and latest in the series of drawing books of super cute and cuddly things and perfect for young artists (older doodlers, too). The step by step method makes it so easy to follow. In a few easy instructions, suddenly you have a sleepy bulldog or a smiley retriever. Also great for rainy days with Grandma who owns lots of paper and pens. This could also be a great basket stuffer at Easter time (near the publication date). I remember being SO impressed when my grandmother’s friend taught me to draw Bugs Bunny, but now my kids impress me with drawings of poodles (lots of poodles and doodle pups — guess what kind of doggies we have!) 5 stars! I’m going to look for the other books in this adorable series by Olive Jong (including “ Kawaii Kitties”.)
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group/Rock Point and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!
I absolutely adored the step by step guide. With the step by step drawings, I could easily follow everything so I could try it out myself. Really recommend this for people who are interested in learning to draw kawaii doggies in a well explained way.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for my copy of Kawaii Doggies Learn to Draw over 100 Adorable Pups in All their Glory by Olive Yong in exchange for an honest review. It publishes April 4, 2023.
This is such a great drawing book! I have a few artists of my own, and this is right up their alley! I would totally buy this for them. It is very doable and broken down in easy to understand directions!
This book is adorable and great for adults and kids. It has a good amount of dog breeds and the instructions on how to draw draw them are easy to follow. I was also extremely happy to see that there was also a book on how to draw Kawaii Kitties by the same author. It immediately went in my Amazon cart.
OMG! This is so cute. I love how kawaii the puppies look and the author makes it easy to draw puppies. I am getting the Kawaii Kitties by the same author on Amazon now. It really is irresistibly cute!
This was a super cute doodling book that really helped bring that recognisable "kawaii" feel to some of my scribbles. I'm not much of an artist at all, but I do like to doodle, so these sorts of step-by-step art books help me practice a bit of creativity.
I love the formatting and colour palette of the book - it feels vibrant and easy to follow, and I'm sure would be loved by other art-y adults as well as kids. Each part is laid out clearly and gives you tips & tricks to get the right shape for each feature.
It's fun to work through on the ARC version anyway, but I imagine the hard copy will be great to draw in (if you're brave enough - I never am!) so makes a perfect interactive gift :) I'd be happy to see more in this series, as other animals or characters would be fab!
I chose to review this book because of the cuteness of the cover and because I love dogs. I didn’t really know what to expect because it’s been years (decades) since I’ve used a how to draw book. If I could learn how to draw dogs as cute as the ones on the cover, I’d be set for life.
The book has almost every dog you can imagine. Pages of them. Then there are pages of puppies. Then pages of dogs as food and dogs in costumes. What’s really cool is that there are examples of how parts of each dog (like their ears and tails) can be customized. I love how there are full color examples of fur and markings as well as blank coloring pages at the end.
I felt like the only way I could properly review a “how to draw” book is if I drew the dogs according to the instructions. It didn’t go too well, but at least I got a good laugh. I think it will take a lot of practice. The most difficult part is the proportions and getting the faces right. I think that having a physical copy of the book would be beneficial because then I would be able to trace and practice that way. I’m pretty proud of myself. I love the chonky, ill-proportioned, weird dogs that I made. The only change I would make is to have some sort of graph/scale for each image, that way I would know how big to make each part with each step. I also know that I’m probably not the age demographic for this book, but I still had a ton of fun with it. Five stars!
I am very familiar with Kawaii cats but this is my first foray into dogs. A cute little book that will appeal to puppy lovers, cute things and drawings. Great instructions are found here.
