Description

It’s gonna be a great day! Or, so she thought.

Andi Anna Jones, so-so travel agent, amateur sleuth, doesn’t suspect her least favorite client, Stewart (The Pain) Payne, will set off circumstances that lead to disappearance and death.

After his wife is a no-show for a convention in New Orleans, his threat to sue Graves Travel for “ten times more than it’s worth”, and Andi’s wish to honor one of her late dad's requests, leads her to The Big Easy in search of Grace Payne.

Five unsolved murders, a body caught in a crawfish cage, and a mysterious candle, magic, and incense shop, takes Andi deep into the bayou on a hunt for clues.

Will another victim be added to a serial killer’s list, or is the main suspect closer to Andi than she thinks?

It’s gonna be a great day! Or, so she thought.

I loved the wonderful excitement and "what could happen next" feel of "Sazerac, Sleuth & Slay." I was quickly drawn into the story and onto the rollercoaster ride as Andi Anna Jones (yes there is a fun reference in the name) starts trying to save her business from an angry client's wrath. To do that Andi has to travel to New Orleans (The Big Easy) to find the client's missing wife. What could have possibly gone wrong on a simple and well planned convention trip? Andi's assistant Ellie has offered the assistance of her Louisiana cousins - an offer Andi hopes to avoid using.
The story has twists, turns, wonderful local New Orleans local color, and some surprises for everyone. I would recommend this book to anyone who wished to get lost in a fun cozy murder mystery. I look forward to reading more books by Mary Cunningham with this lead character.

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last.
Andi Anna Jones is a great character, she's down to earth, funny, and very easy to like.
Andi owns a travel business, but she doesn't seem to enjoy it very much. Her ex step mother Ruby is hysterical, and she really added color to the storyline.
After a client that books a trip with Andi's employee, she suddenly disappears and her husband immediately accuses Andi of neglect.
Refusing to be blamed for the client's disappearing act, Andi sets out to track her down herself, and things go from bad to worse in a short time.

I really loved this book and I'm looking forward to reading more.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.

Entertaining and engaging story. New Orleans and area add interest. The tale may begin in Florida but culminates in Louisiana. Quite the adventure for the reluctant travel agent. Quirky characters are fun. I am eager to read of Andi Anna Jones further activities. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This took place in one of my favorite cities and this writer depicted it perfectly. Fun characters, great location and a clever plot made for a fun read. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

I’m okay with this book. I had a hard time getting into it, I didn’t like how the first part of the story is set up. I did like the second part of the book when the action picked up. I didn’t really like most of the characters, especially Ruby. I don’t think I’d read any more of this series. #SazeracSleuthSlay #NetGalley

Andi Anna Jones (I love the name!) heads to New Orleans to try and find out what happened to prevent a customer from arriving in New Orleans. But it seems there’s more to flinging someone in the Big Easy than just flying in and looking.

As Andi searches, things take on a life of their own and the whole story blows up, in a good way! Can she find the missing woman, or will the mysterious goings on in NOla lead to murder, more murder and maybe even Andi’s murder?

A fun series so far and I love anything set in New Orleans as I’m so familiar with the city I can see the action taking place n my mind. Well written with characters that feel like friends, each book is a visit with friends.

Princess Fuzzypants here: One little mistake and Stewart Payne has not forgiven Andi for sending him to the wrong Dallas. When he books his wife for a trip to New Orleans, she and her assistant make sure everything is absolutely right. Unfortunately, she disappears on her way to the hotel and when Andi flies in to NO, she is the one who must identify her body that was dredged from a local bayou. Then she runs into another client who was supposed to be on an Alaskan cruise who accuses Stewart of the dastardly deed.

When Stewart shows up, he is apologetic about how he has behaved. What is going on? Andi is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery but someone is convinced she is getting far too close to the truth. Luckily Andi has some guardian angels looking out for her including a local police detective and the relatives of Andi’s assistant, Ellie. With all the danger in which she finds herself, she is going to need all the help she can get.

There are some great twists and lots of fun hijinks even if the motives of the killers seem a bit flimsy. Nobody ever said they had to be masterminds. Still and all, it was a fun read and I could not turn out the light until I finished it. Five purrs and two paws up.

This is the second book in the series. There's a serial killer on the loose and one of Andi's client is now dead. A quick read with lots of action and some funny parts. My main issue is Andi is a judgemental piece of work. She is negative and has a host of negative thinking that can fray the nerves. Also the manner in which Louisiana dialect is displayed is not correct. It's more of a Georgia or backwoods country speech, which Louisiana is not.

If you're really great at figuring out the killer, you'll do so midway through the book and the remainder of the time spent reading will simply confirm your suspicions.

Another great and fun cosy mystery. So many unsolved crimes, so many clues but where does it all lead.

This is an easy reading, fun book that I whizzed through. It is a cosy in every sense of the word and this is what makes it fun. It isn't a book that makes you think too much but it doesn't give anything away too easily. With a few twists and turns, some great characters and plenty to mull over this is an entertaining read.

I quite enjoyed it and had no problem devouring it in a day!
