Moose on the Loose by Dodie Leigh is a children’s story based on a big dog named Moose. Moose lives with his human family that includes a mom, dad, and two kids. There’s also his furry sister who’s a different breed. One day while laying in his bed, the front door is left open so Moose decides to go on an adventure. While loose, Moose meets a man who gives him ear rubs, meets and plays with other dogs, chases a squirrel, plays with butterflies, ends up cooling off in a pool and gets chased from a picnic basket. The whole time his human dad is following him. Moose finally decides to get in the car with him then they go home where he eats, drinks, lays in his bed and thinks of his next adventure.
This was a cute picture book for children. It was 39 pages long, perfect for a child’s attention span. The illustration was beautiful and story not difficult for a child to follow. The ending hints to a possible series which is doable.
