Eric Strong's "Don't Fart in the Shower" is a delightful romp through the everyday absurdities of life, offering readers a refreshing blend of humor, wit, and unexpected wisdom. With each anecdote and observation, Strong proves himself to be a keen observer of human folly, unafraid to tackle taboo topics with a healthy dose of irreverence and charm.

At its core, "Don't Fart in the Shower" is a celebration of the mundane, transforming the banalities of everyday existence into moments of laughter and reflection. Strong's humor is equal parts silly and insightful, reminding readers that even the most ordinary experiences can be ripe with comedic potential if viewed through the right lens.

One of the book's greatest strengths lies in its relatability. Whether recounting the perils of public transportation or the awkwardness of family gatherings, Strong's anecdotes strike a chord with readers of all ages and backgrounds. Through his candid observations, he invites us to laugh at ourselves and the absurdities of modern life, fostering a sense of camaraderie and connection in the process.

Moreover, "Don't Fart in the Shower" is impeccably paced, with each chapter offering a fresh perspective on the quirks and foibles of human behavior. Strong's writing is sharp and witty, with punchlines that land with precision and timing. From laugh-out-loud moments to more subtle humor, there's something here to tickle every reader's funny bone.

That being said, some readers may find themselves wishing for a bit more depth and substance amidst the laughter. While Strong's humor is undeniably entertaining, there are moments when the narrative feels somewhat superficial, lacking the emotional resonance that could elevate it from mere comedy to something more profound.

In conclusion, "Don't Fart in the Shower" is a rollicking ride through the absurdities of everyday life, guaranteed to leave readers chuckling long after the final page is turned. Eric Strong's irreverent humor and keen observations make for an entertaining read that is as thought-provoking as it is laugh-out-loud funny. Whether you're in need of a pick-me-up or simply looking for a good laugh, this book is sure to hit the spot.

A delightfully illustrated book with great advice such as, "Don't fart in the shower." The remaining advice deals with such items as belching, peeing in the pool, and picking your nose. The glorious monsters show the consequences of not following civility, and the lessons are duly noted though, for this oldster, the lessons are too late learned. Oh, if only I had such wise monsters to counsel me in my misbehaved youth.

Thank you Net Galley for offering me an advanced copy.
With catchy rhymes, great advice, and fantastic graphics, this book was a super fun read. I was laughing out loud in agreement with the advice offered. Give this one a quick look and you won’t regret it!

This is a 5-7 year olds dream book. Super silly, sometimes icky, lack of manners will get kiddos laughing on every page. It may also have them putting their undies on their heads afterwards. 🤪

My four year old son thought this book was hilarious. He wanted me to read it over and over again. I thought the advice was cute. A lot of it my son didn’t fully understand, but still enjoyed it. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. A fun, silly book to read with your kids.

This caught Oliver's eye and he had to read it. I wasn't sure how I felt about it because you never know with these. Thankfully, it was cute and full of rhymes!! He has been working on rhyming at school, and been asking me about words all day today. It was like kismet that this was on a read now.

There's really not a lot of pages that take place in the shower. There's several types of monsters and all kinds of scenarios. There is a lot of advice that we learn throughout the book. The illustrations are really good and vivid. My son was so amazed! I loved how there were only two sentences per page because he never became overwhelmed. It was the perfect book for rhyming with a lot of advice to be the perfect gentleman!

I think this is a book that I will have to add to his library. He had a lot of fun with it and it was really cute!

Many thanks to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for an e-arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such an interesting take on manners for a kids book. While it personally seemed a little vulgar for how simplistic it was meant to be, I think my kids would probably like it and find it funny.

I was immediately drawn to this book because of the title. The title is something that has been said in my house on numerous occasions. Raising two boys close in age results in attempting to teach the manners on a daily basis. I have said almost every single phrase in this book, and while most of the advice is things I have told my kids, I love the added humor and rhyming of the solutions or alternatives. I think this book is a lot of fun, and my boys laughed out loud at some of the scenarios. I am absolutely adding this to my list of giftable books and you should, too!

This book is a perfect stocking filler for any little boys you might know. A colourful picture book with little monsters. Each one giving handy little tips to become the perfect little gent. Highly amusing but with an underlying moral.

I loved the idea, and the tips are so silly you can't help laughing. Rhymes sounded forced here and there but the monster drawings are super funny. My daughter can't have enough of this.

When I saw this title I knew I had to grab this book haha. I call my daughter a fart monster all the time so I thought she would enjoy a book about farting. She was laughing the whole time we were reading it. It teaches the reading some good lessons hahah. The artwork was perfect at depicting what was happening.
We would recommend this one to everyone.

The title of this book immediately caught my attention as it resonated with phrases commonly heard in my household. With two boys of similar ages, instilling manners is a daily endeavor. Many of the phrases in the book mirror ones I've uttered, yet I appreciate the added humor and rhymes in presenting solutions or alternatives. It's an enjoyable read, eliciting laughter from 2 nephews with its relatable scenarios. I intend to include it in my roster of gift-worthy books, and I recommend you do the same!

A wonderful way to teach some manners. I can think of a few adults that could use this book.

What a cute children's book! The author found a fun way to share ways to remind kiddos to mind their manners. Also, just general common sense life tips. My daughter said, "that was fun", and I totally agree. I will look for more books by Strong.

This is great book for toddlers, a book they can ask their parrents to read it again and again. My kid loved it and the art is gorgeous.

A thoroughly enjoyable children's book. Young boys will enjoy the rhymes and funny sayings, while learning about proper manners.

Being told in a humorous way will hold their attention and get them to learn at the same time. A great book.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks to NetGalley for this copy.

My six year old boy loved this. He was laughing on every page. He thought the illustrations were cool and colorful. Of course all of the bathroom humor really worked for him. Some of the lines didn't rhyme perfectly but I didn't think it really effected the story.

Don't Fart in the Shower is full of many things children and adults alike should keep in mind. This is a book that teaches children basic life lessons that anybody should know but often times get overlooked. My children laughed throughout this book and wanted to read it over and over again. Combining monsters (scary!!!) and those basic life skills is a great way to combine two things that may seem like they don't belong together, into a bond that you will be thinking about for days to come.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving us the chance to review Don't Fart in the Shower by Eric Strong in exchange for our honest review.

"Don't Fart in the Shower: Helpful Tips for Young Monsters" by Eric Strong is a children's picture book that shows monsters being naughty and advising them what not to do. The book is focused on advice to boys, though the advice is good for anyone of any gender. The pictures are vibrant in color, and the monsters are creatively drawn. Each page has a rhyming couplet explaining the image. This book doesn't have a plot. It is just a list of tips. Most young kids aged approximately 4 to 9 years old will enjoy the humor of this book.

Thank you to Netgalley, BooksGoSocial, and author Eric Strong for providing this ARC e-book so that I could give you my honest review.

What a fun book! Love the pictures of the monsters and my kids were non stop laughing about the farting and the advice on the not to do's. It is a very fun way to repeat the rules at home and make it fun. We live in a warm climate where it doesn't snow so I had to explain the yellow snow but they thought it was gross and so funny all at the same time. Overall what a great read for little ones. Highly recommend.

This comic is a great reminder of the golden rules we all learn as a kid (gender doesn't really matter, since these rules are valid for everyone). I really enjoyed that monsters, instead of humans, were taken as an example. The graphic was also very cute and fun. As an adult, I am aware that I am not the target here, but I have tried my best to connect with my inner child and remember of the time I have learned that I am not supposed to fart in public, not only under the shower. It has been a short yet very empathetic and fun connection with my past self. Highly recommended to every child out there.

Don’t Fart in the Shower by Eric Strong had me and my nephew laughing out loud. This book was brilliant and so funny from the first page till the very last. Plus, made my nephew so hyper in laughter he spoke about this book for days! and still talk about it now especially when his parents go for a shower...........The Whoopey cushion I bought him for his birthday comes out! lol.
The pictures of the monsters where bright and eye catching and were great.........especially when they tell a story about the farting and the advice on the not to do's on how to fart!
Just brilliant and a book that will make a horrible day outside become fun and loud inside.

We loved it! Don't think his parents did! lol....But I had to purchased this book for him! lol

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! This is a fun hygiene book that kids could find hilarious. The added monsters make the book fun and silly at the same time. I could see Kindergarten- 2nd grade boys really enjoying this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.

This book reminded me of silly classics from when I was a child such as "Everyone Poops" or "Walter The Farting Dog". Kids are obsessed with disgusting bodily fluids so I can see this book being a hit with kids too! However, parents and teachers might get sick of this book :)

Fabulously detailed and clever illustrations, I absolutely loved the range of monsters in the pictures and every time you look you see more detail. The captions are also amusing, covering a variety of social ‘crimes’ that many young children might be occasionally guilty of (believe me, I teach four and five year olds) so it could be a good, lighthearted, teaching tool too. They’re also catchy and have good rhythm so it’s a real pleasure to read out loud. This would definitely entertain and delight all young children, where toilet style humour is king and they love to be outraged at the behaviour of their peers and be judgy, when let’s be honest they’re equally guilty.
Very enjoyable for the young and the very daft young at heart (aka me) Thank you for making me smile.

I just read this with kiddo, and it is adorable. Every page is a quick, 2 sentence tip for young monsters done in a bit of rhyme, with beautiful illustrations. It's very comfortable to read aloud and earned lots of giggles.

As the mom of 3 boys, this is a book they will LOVE. So many laughs.
Some of the rhyming felt a little forced, but overall cute that the boys will want to read again and again.

A fun little piece, this shows a welter of monsters, boogeymen and suchlike, demonstrating things we should not do, like whizz on an electrified fence, eat yellow snow, be too proactive when fetching boogers out our noses… At first the advice is of the scatological kind, but we end with tips that are more logical – actual table manners and awareness of food safety, so you're left unsure whether the rhyming text is designed to gross us out or to actually be acted upon. The rhymes are strong, generally, although the line length and meter is off more than once; the visuals are inventive and lively, with great colours to show off the individual monstrous characters. I'm a little hesitant to give this four stars, as it does seem slight and disposable, but I can see a huge potential for this to have been a hell of a lot worse.

Dont’t Fart in the Shower is a fun way to introduce boys to personal hygiene. I laughed so hard as I read this. Too young for Maine Student Book Award, but will still be recommending it to my library patrons.

My 7 year old enjoyed this book. He said it was gross and that he would never do most of the things but he thought it was silly. The rhyming of the pages was great. Definitely a good book for little boys and girls who think gross things are silly.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
