This book was delightful, and the graphics were amazing! At first, I was going to give this book a four-star review because I am old school and couldn't help but compare it to "Schoolhouse Rock - Grammar Rock Nouns song and found myself wanting to sing the book rather than read so to be fair I sought out the advice of a couple of my friends kids ages 5-9 and they LOVED the book! They gave it a 10 out of 5 lol! Their comments were "it made learning about nouns fun" "the pictures are cool" and "can we read it again...pleaseeeee" So there you have it, out of the mouth of kids this book is a win!

How adorable the colours and the pictures in this book are! The children love this style and the colour harmony is fabulous.
This is a book about nouns - so, it is actually a book about grammar in some ways, however, the teaching is not didactic, and the rhymes and pictures allow for an engaging, entertaining read. Suitable for younger children and learners of English.
The bonus is, it is also a book with rhyming prose.

“Did you know the world is full of nouns?
They are everywhere if you take a look around.
Learning is fun, I know you can do it,
Especially when we rhyme our way through it!”

This is a cute picture book with heaps of examples of nouns. The rhymes use a bit of poetic licence, but they are still fun to read, and I think kids will enjoy them.

I usually use bold typeface for quotations, but I’ll use italics, because they put the nouns in bold.

“A noun is a person, animal, place or thing,
Like a teacher, an elephant, a playground, a swing.”

Then it moves through an amusement park and out into space.

[My Goodreads review includes the illustration for this page, with the nouns in boldface.]
“A noun can be in space, like a planet, moon or star,
It can also be on Earth, like a bike or a car.”

There are more pages of wonderful examples, and other details to identify as nouns.

[My Goodreads review includes the illustration for this page, with the nouns in boldface.]
“A noun is a butterfly, a bear or a bee,
A noun is a twig or a branch on a tree.”

I know kids will enjoy this one and possibly make it an excuse for playing in the rain.

[My Goodreads review includes the illustration for this page, with the nouns in boldface.]
“Even the weather gives us nouns,
Like rain from the sky that makes a puddle on the ground.”

From the rain to a lovely sunset.

“Nouns are everywhere that you look,
Like a sunset, a watch, and a picture in a book.”

he overall concept is attractive and entertaining, and the illustrations lend themselves to pointing out other nouns in the pictures (hoping that the adult helpers will understand the rules). Because there are so many nouns here (I didn’t count), I think children will have a fair grasp of the idea by the end of the book, and perhaps those adult helpers will, too. 😊

I have to add a thank-you to the author who took my mention of a couple of errors to heart and has fixed them already. I have amended my Goodreads review accordingly and shared the corrected picture. That was certainly a quick response!

Thanks to #NetGalley and Buzz Books (and the author) for a review copy of #TheWorldIsFullOfNouns.

Rainy days call for coloring and kids books. We absolutely loved these sweet books! The illustrations were beyond beautiful, and the stories were so fun. My son loved The Rescues Best Day Ever, because his aunt fosters dogs so he kept saying “Aunt Carlie doggies!”. I am very excited to show my older two The World is Full of Nouns! Such a fun book for elementary school. Adis New Home was super sweet and I Am A Potato was so fun! Thank you @netgalley @bookbuzzblog @redcometpressbooks for the advance copies of these sweet children’s book for our rainy day in the Midwest. ☔️🌧️ 🖍️
