When Joely Hudson returns home to Leroy, Indiana, after living abroad, she’s reluctant to open her heart. After all, she’s been hurt in the past and badly. But then she meets Garrett Gordon and his daughter Emma, and she’s tempted to let down her walls. However, despite how much she wants to let Garrett in, she keeps pushing him away. As if her insecurities weren’t bad enough, she’s picked up an obsessive, murderous stalker who’s determined to make her his own.

When Garrett moved from Kentucky to take a job with the Olman County Sheriff’s Department, he never expected to stumble across someone like Joely. He knows he can’t have a casual fling with her, but he isn’t sure he’s ready for anything else. After all, it isn’t just his heart that could get broken if things don’t work out--his daughter’s could, as well. But as much as he tries to keep his feelings for Joely casual, he’s drawn to her, mind, body, and soul. Just as he comes to terms with his feelings, Joely’s stalker up’s the ante by staking his claim, and Garrett may end up losing her forever.

Seduction in the Shadows is the seventh book in the Shadows Collection/Leroy’s Sins series. Other titles include Secrets in the Shadows, Under the Moon’s Shadow, Shadows from the Grave, Hidden in the Shadows, In the Heart’s Shadow, and Deception in the Shadows.

The title and the cover is enough to draw a reader into wanting to read this book with the mystic and allure they provide. Not having read any of the other novels in this series or by this author for that matter this was exciting for me to open one not having read before. Humor opens it up which mixed with the characters is a great start for me that has me hooked right away because of curiosity. Joely is the one character I fall in love with right away with her independence with character. The author presents a clear picture of her now and then that helps you to embody this character. The family background also gives you a clear picture of what she went through and how she has become who she is today. The sympathy you feel for her gets intense at time which takes talent for a author to get that out of me right away. Being the youngest and do mean that literally is probably part of it also. She has met her brother's new co worker Garrett that is just the man once you read about him that seems just right for her. Being romance is a large part of the reading of the novel with the intrigue gotta see who is gonna be the man hehe. He also has a daughter that she will easily interact with that will be a plus. So with the flow of this storyline you are quickly immersed with the building of this relationship that will have its ups and downs those being mystery filled with much drama. Family drama will also have a large part in this novel which with everything combined makes for a explosive read that was totally unexpected but delightful surprise. The plots are woven beautifully that once you pick this up putting it down will not be a option. Hey maybe warning of that nature needs to accompany this author's books. The heat level being very comparable also to the type of novel this is. It is also wrapped up nicely at the end with a big fat bow if you will. When you are finished you will experience a book hangover that will make it a bit of a challenge to find the next one that is just as good. Received a arc for a honest review.
