This is book #4, in the Redemption series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding and enjoyment, I recommend reading this great series in order.

Jack AKA Rampage is the hottest fighter Penny can see. She sees quote a lot, actually. She sees the real him, the one behind the man everyone thinks he is. She is his greatest friend, and yet she can also be his greatest weakness.

Penny is not sure what to say or do. When it comes to Rampage, she is seriously attracted. She also gets seriously angry. He knows her secret, but can she trust him with her past? The attraction between them is getting so strong, it may cause the spark to ignite.

This story just starts off with such electricity! You feel the powerful pull between the main characters right from the beginning. I loved the humor, the heat, and the banter. This was a great addition to the Redemption series.

Wow. This story was a lot darker than I anticipated. Not necessarily a dark read, just a darker storyline. I found it pretty intriguing. Loved the storyline, characters, and intensity of it all. These Redemption boys are hot, sexy alphas all the way.

This one is about Penny and Jack, also known as Rampage. These two had quite a journey, fighting feelings of who they are and what they need, fighting their feelings for each other even though that want and need is there, fighting demons from their past. There was so much chemistry, friction, emotion, passion and heat. It definitely had a raw and gritty feel for me, because of things Penny was dealing with and Jack’s specific brand of kink. I love that the author went there and she did a great job doing it. It was just full of so much passion and heat and I love that these two somewhat broken soles found each other and in a way heal and find what they need together.

Penny had some serious things she was struggling with and it was awesome watching her grow, gain strength, and overcome. I loved Jack. Rampage has always been this sweet, fun loving guy so getting to see his deep, dark secrets and watch his mask slip and see a whole different side of him was awesome. I loved his battle of accepting who he is and truly being himself. So, so good!

Love all the Redemption guys and the testosterone fueled conversations and fights they have. I also love their woman who have are just as strong and put up with them. They're all a great addition to the story and bring a touch of lightness into the dark.

Really good writing, decent pace. Towards the end the back and forth between Penny and Jack was getting old and that back and forth of them figuring their stuff out was starting to get a bit drawn out but other than that, I thought it was awesome. A hot read for sure, but more emotional and dark too. Awesome addition to the series!

I really liked Jack/Rampage and Penny, their story is an unconventional one, they each have secrets but their secrets are what makes them perfect for one another.

Penny has left England and her abusive past behind her hoping to start a new life in America free from all of the heartache but it seems like Penny has a knack for choosing the wrong guy, well that was until she and Rampage took their relationship to the next level.
Rampage had a HUGE secret that he kept hidden from everyone at Redemption including his closest friends but Penny stumbles upon it and Jack is furious he had been hurt before because of his secret desires but can she be the one that can look past the facade and love him for the man that he is?

The chemistry was great, I loved that they could be silly with one another and then in a blink of an eye have the air sucked out of the room with their desire. This was the first book in the series that I read and I have to say that it can be read as a standalone but I have enjoyed the others in the book so much that I plan on going back and reading the books that came before this one.

Oh Penny Penny Penny...and Rampage, I didn't forget about you. I can't remember the last book I read where the title was so darn fitting. Rampage sure did fight his attraction to Penny whenever he could, at every chance he got , until he just couldn't fight it anymore. And when it wasn't him fighting it, it was her demons jumping in on the battle. Have you ever read a book where the two characters are just so damaged , but together they're so perfect? That was this story for me. Damage has been done, deep deep damage, pain, things you don't forget and hard to move past. But these two have. The question was, could they move past it together and heal each other? Throughout a lot of the book, I wasn't too sure I had the answer to that question. Seems like Sarah wanted to keep us on our toes when it came to whether or not these two would work their kinks out.

I am glad that Sarah focuses this story so much on Rampage and Penny. Not only on them together as a couple, but individually what they have going on, what they are fighting. Sometimes you will read a book where it may be about the couple, but then you have so much going on with other characters, your H/h lose focus. With Fighting Attraction, we do have a lot going on, but it's so focused on these two, and they are so much a part of all the other little bits of the storyline, it's not an issue.

We sure did have a lot going on. Rampage fighting. Penny's demons. The lawsuit. Her trying to protect him. His past. Her past. The other Redemption fighters all play a big part. Her job. Her dreams. Her ex. His play partner. And while that can seem like a lot and a little overbearing, Sarah did a great job of balancing it all out, and again, making sure our focus stays on these two.

I really liked this book. I liked how Sarah made their pasts such a huge part of who they are and the demons they fight, together and alone. I liked how Rampage made her see another side of finding release of her emotions and her cravings. I liked even more how he showed her she was everything he needed. He's such a big bad ass man, so to see those softer moments, you really get all the feels from those scenes.

While I wasn't happy he pushed the point of therapy on her, I'm glad that it was dropped. I am glad, even though she may have needed it, Rampage didn't continue to push the issue and instead helped her heal herself and find a different out let for her needs/desires/cravings, as she did him. She fulfilled his needs too. While this may not be the scene I am in to, I did like the way that Sarah set the scenes and made it seem attractive, dirty, hot. In a book yes, real life I'd be peeing myself in fear.

I think one of the things I loved the most was seeing Penny find her strength to go after her dream. He found his, now she was going after hers. Not only that, but they both were free to stop hiding different aspects of themselves. The freedom they found with each other was so great to read for these two who had been through so much. And the way Penny flipped the script and used Sadist in their favor, that was awesome! I love this series and was so glad to see Rampage got his happy ending.

This was another okay read for me. Jackson and Penny, the main characters are friends that are having a very hard time turning into lovers. BOTH has some issues that prevent the progression.

I thought it was too much back and forth between the two. I got to the point where I wasn't interested anymore and I forced myself to finish. Even with Jackson being aka Rampage, the MMA Fighter aka Master Jack, the demanding Dom I wasn't drawn to the story.

Maybe when I'm in a different frame of mind, I might revisit this book.

FIGHTING ATTRACTION is the fourth instalment in Sarah Castille’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women of the MMA Club Redemption. This is MMA fighter Jack ‘Rampage’ Caldwell, and PA Penny Worthington’s story line. FIGHTING ATTRACTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: FIGHTING ATTRACTION contains graphic scenes of BDSM focusing on the sadistic and masochistic, and may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual first person points of view (Penny and Jack) FIGHTING ATTRACTION focuses on the atypical relationship between MMA fighter Jack ‘Rampage’ Caldwell, and PA Penny Worthington. When the firm for which Penny works serves notice to the local BDSM club to vacate the premises Penny finds herself facing down not only the man who stars in her fantasies, but the man who is able to give Penny so much more. Enter Jack Caldwell, MMA fighter and Club Sin Dom. What ensues is the building love between Penny and Jack, and the couple’s struggle to accept the who and what of their unusual relationship.

Jack is a sadist-a man who likes to inflict pain on others. Penny is a masochist-a woman who needs pain to release the demons buried deep within. Together Jack and Penny are the perfect couple until Jack believes he has gone too far and hurt the woman with whom he has fallen in love.

The relationship between Jack and Penny is based on a mutual need. Jack believes his wants and needs are deviant, and past experiences point to a self-fulfilling prophecy. Penny not only desires the pain but needs the hurt to stop the ongoing darkness that threatens to consume. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense; the BDSM scenes are not for the lighthearted.

All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting roles. We are re-introduced to Master Damien Stone, the owner of Club Sin as well as one of Club Sin’s submissives Kitty, and an assortment of MMA fighters and wannabes.

FIGHTING ATTRACTION deviates from Sarah’s usual MMA story line as it focuses on the S&M relationship between Jack and Penny. FIGHTING ATTRACTION reads more like an introductory story line to a new series; perhaps the author has plans for a spin off about the members of Club Sin. All of the MMA fighters are alpha, over protective, and not without some questionable means to protect the people they love. The premise is passionate and entertaining; the characters are colorful, dynamic and broken; the romance is intense and unique. FIGHTING ATTRACTION is an intimate look at two people whose relationship deviates from the norm but a relationship that is perfect for one another.

Fighting Attraction by Sarah Castille is book Four in the "Redemption" series. But it CAN be read as a standalone but be prepared to be intrigued about the couples mention in this book it will leave you wanting to get your hands on the rest of the series with these Alpha Men and their women.

Within this read we follow the friendship of Jack "Rampage" Caldwell and Penny "Pen" Worthington. This is a friends to lovers story they really did have a great friendship. Jack is a loveable friendly guy but with a Dark secret he's hiding. What Jack doesn't realise is that the girl he thinks he's no good for has a Dark past and secret of her own. So when feelings start to change neither feel they are right of good enough for each other.

"I will have her. And then i will lose her and suffer a lifetime of regret."

The story is told in a dual POV which i liked, it gave more into their inner thoughts which for this read it needed as their outside was nothing like they were on the inside. This couple really were perfect for each other with Jack being a sadist-a man who likes to inflict pain on others. Penny is a masochist-a woman who needs pain to release the demons buried deep within.

Fighting Attraction really surprised me, i was already a fan of Sarah Castille but this read was so much more than i was expecting with its hard hitting dark aspects. It was gritty, intense but also the light parts were fun, flirty and even though some parts were hard to read i throughly enjoyed this read.

"He is Redemptions's gossip king, everyone's best friend, all-round nice guy, fight, sadist, and the other half of my soul. He is darkness, and he is light. His mask is gone, and the real Jack is free."

Fans of Sarah Castille this is a must read for you. If this is your first by this author this read does factor on dark aspects but not all her reads do and her reads are definitely books i would recommend.

**Be aware that this is not a light hearted read and at times – it deals with some serious subjects.**

I wasn't too sure how I was going to like Fighting Attraction since I don't usually read a lot of BDSM type books, but I do like MMA so I thought I would give it a chance. I am so glad that I did. I really loved Rampage and Penny.

Rampage has a secret. In the MMA world he's known for being too much of a softy, just too nice. But what people don't know is that he's really a sadist and he lost everything because of his need for pain. Since he can't trust anyone with his secret, he's decided to leave relationships in the past. But then there's Penny.

Penny Worthington is a proper brit who has her own secret. So when she finds Rampage at a sex club she is serving notice to, she's intrigued by his other lifestyle. But Rampage knows that Penny can't take the type of pain he needs to give. But the attraction between the two of them is through the roof.

I really loved Penny and Rampage together. All his alpha protectiveness and the way he looks out for the Penny is hot. Penny is broken yet strong. She knows what she wants and what she needs and it all comes in the package of Rampage. But can she convince him that she likes everything about him including his darkside.

Although this is part of a series, the book can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed all the characters and will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

This book was a bit much of the same I have been reading and while the authors craft is top notice the basic story is like so many others I have read in the recent weeks. Each one where the male lead doesn't one anyone to have "his girl" but he doesn't want a relationship with said girl. She won't give up and things go wrong and than quickly fixed happily ever after happens and story ends.
Sarah Castille has the ability to paint amazing pictures and describe hard scenes IE fight scenes the basic story let me wondering.
Thank you for the advance Copy from Netgalley

Fighting Attraction is an amazing story that drew me right in to all the action. It was as if Castille knew my favorite two genres of fighters and bdsm and threw them in a blender together! I loved this story. Master Jack “Rampage” is a book boyfriend of my darkest fantasies. Rampage is a heavyweight fighter and all around good guy, but his secret of Sadist Master Jack at club sin is threatened which will expose him and ruin his career. Penny is a hard core heroine who has many personal issues that she keeps hidden from even those closest to her. Castille created a world we can immerse ourselves in. Her writing style is flawless and I felt part of the action between Jack and Penny. The secondary characters were great supports and developed enough interest that I would love followup books. Curl up with a hot coco, a blanket and a change of panties and let yourself fall into the Redemption world for a few hours, you won't be sorry.

'Fighting Attraction' by Sarah Castille is book Four in the "Redemption" series. This is the story of Jack 'Rampage' and Penny 'Pen'. I have not yet read the other books in this series so for me this was a standalone book. I will say it appears these two met in a previous book as they are friends in this book.
Pen is from England but has many American friends. In addition, she also has an abusive past with very low self esteem. This has lead her to cut herself to release the pain. Pen is attracted to Jack but thinks he is to good for her and with her being a little bit heavy he wouldn't be interested. Jack is attracted to Pen but he is a member of Club Sin where he is a Dom and likes to discipline subs. Jack thinks this wouldn't be something Pen would be interested in as she seems to be a 'good girl'. But one night when Pen is serving court papers she see Jack at Club Sin. Pen is taken with Club Sin and would like Jack to introduce her to that life style.
This book took you to allot of levels with Pen being a former victim of abuse, self hurting and self esteem issue with Jack who also has past issue...but reading how they helped heal each other was great.

Overall, the romance between Jack and Penny is beautiful and convincing, and their characters certainly have chemistry. Each one deals with their own problems and conflicts: Jack has an issue with being a sadist, Penny has self-confidence problems and psychological issues. In other words, they're not the perfect hero and heroine that you find in other romances.

For better structure, I will break my thoughts down into two sections, staring with the positives.

This book has two very strong POVs, and although it was written in first person present tense (which I normally hate as a narrative perspective, especially for erotic romance or erotica) the author managed to draw me in, and that is quite an accomplishment. I love her fluent style, her internal monologue, and the humor in the character's unique voices.

No wordiness. This book was a joy to read. No run-on sentences. No superfluous adverbs. No incessant use of dialogue tags. Style-wise, this author is a joy, and I am certainly learning a thing or two of her style.

Conflict and Plot: Overall they are sound, and most conflicts are resolved at the end. (One isn't, but I'll refer to that in the BDSM section later.)

There aren't many negatives for me, except for one.

I feel that this book should have been shorter. Many scenes in the last half of the book seem repetitive or redundant, and sadly, yes, even a couple of the sex scenes.

I looked again at the plot, wondering why, as a reader, I felt that way. In my opinion, the reason for why I found myself skimming over parts in the second half is, that there is either no conflict, or the conflict feels forced or repetitive.

The redundant sex scenes offer no new character development, no resolution of any issue or conflict, and therefore seem like filler-scenes to which there is no purpose. Which I can forgive. I know many people like reading erotic romances for the abundance of sex scenes--whether there is purpose for them or not. I guess I was just surprised to find these in an erotic romance book, since they are usually only used in erotica.

Personally, I enjoy it more when sex (especially in BDSM) serves some purpose--either the characters learn something new about each other, or limits are being discovered or expanded upon, etc. But that's just personal preference, and should not deter you from reading and thoroughly enjoying this book.

Another great read from Sarah Castille! Jack and Penny’s story was a study in contradictions – both characters are not quite what they appear, but in the end they are just what the other needs. Both characters have been broken by their past, but together they find a way to work through their issues and find their own version of normal.

Penny - prim, proper, and pastel little Penny – boy, there’s a whole other side to Penny that we finally get to see now that she has her own book. And Jack – friendly, charming, southern-gentleman Jack – who would guess that there’s a sadist hiding underneath that smile. Watching these two come together was frustrating at times, but the end was so worth all the struggles to get there. Both have some pretty serious issues from their past and even though it appears at first these two would be perfectly matched, their issues run so much deeper, which in the end have them facing themselves and each other to create their own version of happiness. There was nothing easy about this relationship, there was a good dose of angst, some truly dick moves which got me a bit grumbly, but in the end, watching Jack and Penny come together was truly satisfying.

And as usual, no Redemption book would be complete without getting to spend some time with all the characters from the series. I love that we get to see outside the relationship of Penny and Jack – the supporting characters truly become part of the Penny and Jack’s story and help show different sides of them. I totally loved the girl’s night out scene – the women are just as fierce as their men are…and know just how to handle them!

This is part of a series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. From a well-developed plot to great characters who had emotional depth, this was a great read which has me looking forward to more!

*sigh* How I love Sarah Castille's writing. She gives you interesting characters and a great story that you don't want to put down.

MMA fighter Jack "Rampage" Caldwell is hiding something. Underneath is his good ole boy charm, he loves dominating women and is actually a sadist. He hides it because people used that information to hurt him in the past. He has a wonderful friendship with Penny Worthington but knows he isn't good enough for her. She exudes kindness and innocence. What he doesn't know is that Penny has a dark side to her as well, and his kink is just what she needs.

This was dark and angsty. A lot of it had to do with the subject matter. A lot of it was the self loathing both Penny and Jack felt. Neither felt they were good enough and they had trouble believing they could be good enough for someone. There was a lot of back and forth between them...we're friends, we're lovers, we're together, we're not together, I love you, how could you not tell me. It went on a little too long. He groveled AMAZING though LOL

Although this is book 4 in the series, I haven't read any of the others but I wasn't lost at all. I adored Ray! I'll be going back and reading his book soon :)

Welcome to the world of BDSM where you find out that there are some dark fantasies that can bring out the light inside of you. That is the case with the story of Rampage and Penny. He is one of the most sought after Doms and she is his good friend and new submissive.

No problems there right?

Well of course things in this relationship get complicated when feelings get involved. Rampage doesn't understand why he likes her so much. Maybe because of the history. Or maybe because she's the one that can 'dominate' him. And that is not something that he likes to happen. Ever. We get to see that power struggle between the submissive and dominate and wonder who really has the control.

Penny doesn't know why this kind of world entices her. As a reader you can also relate. Yeah there are some things in her past that ride her hard but it's more of just about letting someone else take control and be free with that.

I like that back and forth between the characters but I couldn't really get into the characters outside of Club Sin. I found it hard to figure out what is going on in their head and what got me through was the many scenes where they are showing off their scenes. It was that power struggle that I found most interesting in the story. I would have liked to dive deeper into the characters earlier on in the story instead of having it more towards the end. There wasn't even a real build up to those big reveals either.

Fighting Attraction was such a good story, I loved every bit of it. Jack and Penny both had dark secrets but when they each learn of each other's what will they do? Jack and Penny had both believed the worse about themselves, but together they are able to accept their faults and move past them. When one of their secrets come out what will happen, will they able to forgive each other or will they just walk away? I loved this book and the back and forth between Penny and Jack it made the story that much more interesting. I recommend this one.

Welcome back to Redemption. This is the 4 book in the redemption series, and it is another winner! Going into this I was thinking, this is just another MMA book, but boy oh boy, this is so much more than that. I started reading this book and could not put it down… lets just say dinner was a mess because I was too busy reading this!
This is the story of Rampage aka Jack and Miss Penny. This book was full of sexiness and hot Alpha men… but it also touches on a serious subject and in my opinion does an amazing job to addressing it. There was points in this book, where I could feel the emotions and hopelessness that penny was feeling and I hurt for her.
Jack/Rampage is perfect for penny in so many ways. They are the perfect match for each other. The darkness that surrounds them is one of the things that pulls them together but in the end is the thing they help each other overcome.
I loved that we get to see how some of the other characters are doing as well. This book is part of a series and can be read as a stand alone but I would certainly recommend reading the other books first so you get a better understanding of these crazy alpha men.
5 stars for a great book!!

"She's the most beautiful woman I've ever met and never fucked."

I've been waiting for this one, and it lived up to all my expectations. My weakness is the broken bad boys and you can't get much more broken than choosing to spend your life alone. Rampage has taken relationships off the table. He has chosen to embrace his darkness, but not to share it.

Penny is his light. Even if she doesn't know it. She's everything he ever wanted, except for the one thing he can't live without. He watches her. He protects her. He wants her. But he doesn't allow himself to do anything about it.

Penny is broken, but only a few close friends are aware of her past. And none of them know her secret. When she accidentally learns Rampage's secret, she keeps it to herself. But she wants more. She wants to dip her toe in his darkness, knowing somehow it will give her the release she seeks. But can two broken halves make a whole? They might, if he would even consider it, but he won't. He refuses to dim her light. So, they watch each other with hungry eyes, Fighting Attraction.

Sarah Castille did an amazing job of showing the heart of the characters. I have always been a big fan of her alpha males that are so tough on the outside, but turn to mush when they find the women they are meant to be with. She tackles issues that some would shy away from, and nails them every time. And her sense of humor never fails to have me giggling out loud and embarrassing myself as I read. She's always brought a smile to my face with the term submission, involving holds in the ring. But this time she took it to a whole new level that turned my smile to a blush. But I'm not complaining. I'm ready for more. The line forms here...

Fighting Attraction by Sarah Castille was a great fighter romance! Add in a healthy splash of BDSM, and this was equal parts poignantly spicy and infinitely sweet.

Penny has known Rampage for years now, and he’s one of her best friends. That changes when she sees him in the professional ring for the first time as Rampage. Something changes between them and when she discovers Rampage is actually Master Jack? Maybe he is the man to deliver just what she needs—pain.

Rampage, aka Jack, is the nice guy, the helpful guy, the all-around every man’s friend guy. What the other fighters at his gym don’t know? Rampage’s a dominant and sadist. And when he realizes his good and super attractive friend, Penny, desires what he can dish out? It’s his own dream and nightmare combined. Should he go there with her? What if Master Jack is too much for her to handle? It’s taken out of his hands by the persistent Penny, but all too soon, Jack is falling for the sweet, British girl who makes his heart pound.

He doesn’t stand a chance.

Oh, Fighting Attraction had everything I look for in a good romance. Penny is a prim and proper British woman, and she reminded me a bit of Bridget Jones. A little awkward, a little quirky, a little clumsy. But she’s intrigued by Master Jack’s brand of pain. She has a background with it--with pain-- and it’s something that gives her release. It's a dark look into her psyche than I had anticipated—into both of the characters--and I loved it. BDSM is essential to them both, albeit in different ways, and they have to discover that together. It brings out this multi-faceted look into both of them that we couldn’t have gotten otherwise.

Rampage, for his part, is super sweet, and it’s so incongruous with his personal life as well as his life in the cage. His sadist desires cost him his family (he was raised as a Southern gentleman), and he’s not wanting to lose Penny the same way. His need for pain goes deep. Things only get more complicated with Penny’s tenacity. I admired how Penny has no problems owning her desires and confronts Rampage to own his. It was a bit frustrating since Rampage is so dead-set against accepting that part of himself. Seriously, this guy has such a strong will! Good thing he has Penny to crumble them a little.

This book is filled with humor and heartbreak, and I sat on the edge of my seat reading the whole way through. It’s dark and gritty, but has an undertone of hope. I’d highly recommend Fighting Attraction for anyone who likes a little dirty with a little sweet in their romance. This won’t be the last book I read by this author.

4.5 Fighting-to-the-Finish stars!
