Dreya and Braden made very intriguing support characters when they were first introduced in the previous book. Ivy and Landon immediately recognized Dreya as a feline shifter very similar in skill set to Ivy when they first met her and brought her to the attention of the X-Ops team. Readers get ready for the next exciting chapter in this race, the conclusion of which will leave you reeling.Dreya is a great second story burglar. She uses her feline skills to get her in and out of places that a normal thief could never hope to. Detective Braden and his partner are convinced that she's a thief and despite her being able to evade all their traps in the past finally manage to get her on tape demonstrating her skills. Fortunately for Dreya, X-Ops comes to her rescue and take her away from the a sure shot conviction to offer her a chance as a member of their elite X-Ops team. Braden with his infallible instincts suspects that things are not quite what they appear. He follows Dreya and the X-Ops team who rescues her from his custody and ends up getting recruited and ultimately becomes Dreya's partner. In no time at all Dreya leap frogs to the front of the class and is sent on dangerous missions partnered with Braden. Of course as is true with every other X-Ops partner team we've met before they are soon breaking the no fraternization rules to jump into bed together. The mission of the X-Ops team remains to stop new hybrids from being created. Soon the team is dispatched to stop an operation which is being conducted out of a mental facility for the rich and famous. The mission takes some interesting twists and turns with some new and interesting characters being introduced to readers. The story seems to be the typical fast paced action adventure we come to expect from this series until it all goes "KABOOM" leaving the reader in an agony of suspense of what comes next. |
An enjoyable read, Paige Tyler is a firm favourite of mine although her x- ops series is not my favourite I prefer her SWAT series there is just something about those Wolves!! X ops is all about the shifter, shifters of all shapes, sizes and species. Her true Match is the latest in the series and is Dreya's story, cat burglar Dreya is always only one step ahead of the law when it comes to one particular officer Braden the only man to catch her red handed with her pilfered goods. When Branden finally gets Dreya into the interrogation room he never expects her to be snatched away by the DCO. With the 2 working for the DCO it becomes obvious that the tension of the chase is not the only tension between them sparks fly as these pair learn to work together and rote the the world from evil politicians and scientists. 4.5 stars xx |
This is another excellent boot in the X-ops series. The two leads are Dreya and Braden. Braden is the cop who has been tailing Dreya a cat burgler for quite some time. He is fascinated by her and quite in tune with her movements. Although they start out in a very rocky situation, they are quickly paired up as partners and sent off on missions. Although very fast paced and interesting, at times it seemed too rushed. I would have liked more of a lead up to, well, everything. I felt there was at times, just too much happening in this story. This book is one of those books in a series where the events tend to take center stage over the couple themselves. And, boy, was there a lot of stuff happening. This book marks a major shift in the series, and we will have to wait for the next installment to see how this all plays out. I really would have liked to see the Dreya and Braden fleshed out as characters more. That said, still a very good read in the X-ops world. |
Title: Her True Match Series: X-Ops Author: Paige Tyler Genre: Romance ISBN: 9781492625926 As is the norm for one of Ms. Tyler’s books this is a very fast pace action packed, humorous wonderful read from the first page to the last it is a book you won’t be able to put down. Each of her stories get better and better but you haven’t seen nothing yet. Dreya needs challenges, action, thrills and adventure that cat burglar brings her. Over time Dreya and Braden have played this cat and mouse game there has always been a strong attraction with some major chemistry going on. Dreya loves getting under his skin which makes Braden more determined to get proof. Braden knows she is a thief but has not been able to find proof until now this might be her last adventure if he has anything to do with it. He is trying his best to make the charges stick against Dreya which leaves her right in the eye of the government who would love to spend some time with her learning all about her special powers. When the FB gets their hands on her Braden is uneasy when they take her away he follows. There are some very interesting parts here but one thing leads to another as the team up and become partners. Both bring their own skills to the table making a wonderful team taking down criminals but as their mission becomes dangerous when they try to an agent out of the hospital why fighting the bad guys and trying to find answers for the DCO things take a turn. Will they learn to work as a team or will this be their last mission with death being the only way out. The way the author bring the story to life with the cat and mouse game really pulls the reader in. Dreya has trust issues and for her give her trust to Braden takes a lot. Even though Braden has issues with her he never treats her different and accepts her with her special powers. Dreya is a very easy character to like she is sassy, has no trouble standing on her own, she holds her ground in a fight never backing down, confident and strong. Braden is just a sweetheart, proud, compassionate and very protector, just an all round nice guy who has no trouble doing the job he is given. When things get tough he pulls his weight but still keeping Dreya protected. Sparks fly as they put their minds to the job putting the passion at bay even makes the love scenes even better when nature takes it course and clothes start flying. I really enjoyed this passionate filled suspense with so much action and thrills it gets your heart pumping as you hang on the edge waiting to see what happens. It is just as thrill and heart pumping when these two finally come together as you watch their passion ignite you take a deep breath and hold it. WOW what a powerful love scenes. Oh what a heart stopping ending you are in for a thrilling ride. I just love this story and can’t wait for the next on to come out. |
Her True Match by Paige Tyler A cop and a thief. They end up partnered together because he knows how she thinks and moves. She thinks he's cute and kind of sexy. The sixth full length book in the X-Ops series. Intrigue and shifters. Espionage and mad scientist doctors. Moves quickly. Entertaining. I really liked the hero. He understands her enough to stand back and let her succeed or fail and is there to catch and support her. Plus he's not phased at all by her claws or glowing eyes. A strong personality but doesn't feel the need to oppress. Very nice. Read the prior books in the series to fully appreciate this one. Explosive ending. Cliff hanger for the series. Excerpt: "Braden let the guy collapse to the floor, then took the weapon from his limp hand and dropped it in the toilet. He turned to find Dreya looking at him with a shocked look on her face. "What?" he asked. "You came to get me," she said. "I'm getting a feeling that is going to be my role in this partnership," he said, grabbing her hand and heading for the door. "You steal things and I come get your sexy a$s out of trouble." He glanced at her to see her grinning. "You think I have a sexy a$s?" Braden stifled a groan. Being her partner was going to kill him - or drive him nuts. Tommy was probably laughing so hard, he was surprised he didn't hear the sound coming all the way down from heaven." Excerpt from Her True Match by Page Tyler I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. |
Dreya knows that she is kind of a freak. She has literal claws that can come out on comand or in times of distress. The night-vision is kind of cool but it makes her eyes glow, so not to be done in mixed company. Her extraordinary hearing and smell can make the world overwhelming but over time Dreya has learned to block most of the extra senses. Speed, balance, reflexes all contribute to her success as a cat burglar. Braden was hoping his favorite thief had left town and turned over a new leaf. When she is spotted up to her usual tricks he has another chance to arrest her, and his time the evidence is incontrovertible. Braden doesn't know Dreya's story, but he can anticipate her actions, can guess when she is going to bail, and where she will run. When federal agents crash his interrogation to steal his thief Braden has a gut feeling something is wrong. Are his personal feelings getting in the way of good police work? Why can't he just let this go and leave her alone. I loved this book! The second storyline running along Braden and Dreya's story is full of action and questions to be answered in a later book. No irritating cliffhanger but the end drives a clear message to the reader about where the series is going from here. No spoilers for the length for the series or who's tale will come next. Read on my friends. |

This was one incredibly action packed, adventure filled, hilarious, paranormal romance that you will not want to miss out on. Braden Hayes is a good detective, matter of fact he is one of the best in his district. And it is all thanks to his first partner. Thanks to his first partner he realized that he should not break the rules, and he made his job his life because loosing his friend and partner in a shoot out took away his desire to work fully on instinct. And he has been happy with his life..... That is until he her. Dreya Clark. Cat burglar extraordinaire. And the reason why she is so good at her "job"? It's because she doesn't seem to keep or sell any of the items she steals. But why would she possibly do that? This question is what has haunted Braden since he first interrogated her and this question is what led to him becoming the one person in the world that knows Dreya, the real Dreya. Dreya Clark is a cat burglar because her "instincts" demand it of her. She needs the action and the challenges in order to stay sane. But her latest burglary may end her up in a situation that not even her special abilities can get her out of. Especially since Braden may have actually found a way to get her charges to stick, and the federal government is interested in her......for a job? This was one amazing paranormal romance, I absolutely adored Dreya because her snarky/prickly exterior covering her warm nature is what I, and so many other people out in the world, try to project to "outsiders". The only difference is the fact that her claws are a bit sharper than mine could ever be. The author wrote an amazingly riveting romance that I highly recommend any paranormal romance lovers read. Paige Tyler is an author with a writing style you will not want to pass up on. ~ A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection. |
There stories just keep getting better. This story focus's on Dreya a thief and feline shifter and Braden the burglary cop who has been trying to pin her for a crime for a while. The characters were great, Dreya was a strong, confident heroine and Braden is an loyal, alpha who will make for an incredible partner. There was great chemistry between the characters, interactions with previous characters and advancement of the overall storyline. With the way the story ended I sure hope the next book is scheduled to be released soon. The writing was a high quality, with a well structured story that was fast paced and kept you wanting to read more. |

Dreya is a cat shifter, Braden is a burglary investigator. They are the stars of this action-packed story, which is filled with "guest appearances" from other books, presumably. Since I haven't read those other books, I felt a little lost as to the backstory at times. The characters have great chemistry, the dialogue is snappy, the villain is menacing...it's close to being a 5 star book if I just hadn't felt like I was really missing out by not having read the other books and if I felt like they were gaining ground on finishing off the bad guy. This is book 6 in a series...surely by this point there would be progress? And to be fair, maybe there is and the author didn't make that clear for new readers. |
"Her True Match" is another great book in the 'X-Ops' series with Braden the cop and Dreya the cat burglar. We met them only briefly in the previous book, 'Her Rogue Alpha'. Braden has been trying to catch her for a long time, and when he does, they are both recruited into DCO (Department of Covert Operations) for some real undercover cat burglar work. There we meet some familiar faces in the DCO from previous stories, but the main focus is on Braden and Dreya and their current mission. DCO familiars and new recruits are working to weed out those corrupted at the top level. There was great chemistry between the H and h as well as with others from previous stories. I have read all of the stories in this series, but each book stands on its own. I have to say given that, the ending in this one is as always a HEA for the main characters, but what transpired at the end of the story for DCO and others will have me looking for the next read in this series. I love Paige Tyler's books and I hope to see the next one soon. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for gifting me with "Her True Match" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4.25 Stars! |
Detective Braden Hayes and Dreya Clark are on the opposite sides of the law. They have met many times in the interrogation room because Braden knows that Dreya is a thief, but has not found proof. They find each other very attractive, but Dreya enjoys irritating Braden and Braden is determined to get proof. Finally Braden has ironclad proof of Dreya’s guilt and she knows she is in big trouble. In walk agents of Department of Homeland and FBI. They take away Dreya and the proof that Braden has on her. Braden follows them because he is worried about her even though he claims that he is mad that his criminal was taken from him. It turns out that the agents work for the DCO (Department of Covert Operations) and want to offer Dreya a job and they let Braden on the property so that he can watch and make sure that she is safe. Before too long they become partners because Dreya has a problem trusting the other men that they try to partner her up with. She is very nervous about showing him her shifter abilities, because she doesn’t want him to hate her. Very quickly they are sent on very serious missions and because of her shifter/burglar skills and his cop/detective skills they do well together. The DCO is still having problems with the members of the Committee that oversee them and their henchmen. They are especially worried about former Senator Thorn, DCO Asst. Director Coleman, and Frasier head of security for Thorn. John the Director of DCO and his trusted agents try to keep the bad guys ignorant of many things that they know and are working on. Several agents are at a Psychiatric Hospital in Maine to see if someone is trying to create more Hybrids by using the patients as test subjects. When things go from bad to worse, Dreya and Braden are called in to help. They need to get an agent out of the hospital, save a hybrid and a shifter, all while fighting big bad “orderlies”. When the agents finally get home to DC a slip of the lip causes a huge problem. Will the DCO ever be the same again? I liked that Braden defended Dreya even though he knew she was a thief. He accepted her differences as something special and not weird. He liked that she was strong-willed even though it caused him worry. Dreya’s trust of Braden was special because she had only one other person she had trusted and he was no longer around. She liked him because he was confident as well. |

Love this author, have read more of her SWAT books than this series but found it every bit as an enjoyable from start to finish, I love strong heroines as counterparts to these strong alpha males and this author never fails to disappoint. Great story well written and extremely HOT! |

Dreya Clark is a feline shape shifter and jewel thief. She has always managed to stay ahead of the law, but now Det Braden Hayes and his partner have her in their sites. She is in the interrogation room at the police station when 2 federal authorities arrive with paperwork to take her into custody. A government agency is recruiting her to help them. Help them or go to jail, that's her choices. She and Braden are partnered up to go on missions together. This is part of a series and I felt like I was missing things because I hadn't read the previous books. There is both suspense and romance in the book. The characters have good chemistry and the story is interesting. I didn't realize when I requested the book it was a paranormal, which is not my favorite genre. That is the main reason for my 3 1/2 star rating. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy. |
Her True Match is the sixth installment of the X-Ops series by Paige Tyler Dreya Clark is feline shifter that put the sexy in cat burglar. That was until she was caught stealing redhanded. The only way for her to stay out of jail is to use her shifter abilities by helping the Department of Covert Operations. However, this kitty-cat isn’t to0 keen to being tied up. Braden has been playing at and mouse with Dreya for years, but when she’s taken away to help an organization that specializes in dangerous missions, he isn’t about her to let her go off alone. However, Braden finds out that this cat burglar is much more than she lets on. Will these two be able to contain their passion or will it get too hot to handle? Even though I’ve read a good amount of Paige Tyler’s books, I have to say that I really enjoyed Her True Match. Dreya may be feline, but she knows how to hold her own in a fight. She’s strong, sexy, confident and down right sassy. Which I love. Though, Braden isn’t someone to scoff at either. He’s compassionate, protector, fierce loyal and a sweet guy. These two make the ultimate duo as we watch sparks and clothes fly as these two embark on a deadly mission while keeping their passion for one another at bay. But even then, the dam breaks. And when it does, it’s glorious. In addition to great chemistry, the storyline was exciting, thrilling and fresh. I look forward to reading more of her work. |
A very interesting story. Good characters. I enjoyed it from start to finish. |
First of all, I just have to mention the fact that I hate the titles in this series. I've enjoyed the books, but there's only one of them that I can tell which characters it features from its title. They tell me nothing and it bugs me! Okay, I feel better now. But since I brought up the rest of the series, I will also say that I don't think you need to start from the beginning to pick up Her True Match. (I would, but I'm more series-oriented than most.) The couples from books one and two both play big parts in the story, so you might want to read their books, but I don't think it's necessary to know how they got together to follow this story. You definitely need to read book five, Her Rogue Alpha, though since both story lines are continued from that book. Detective Braden Hayes has been tracking cat burglar Dreya Clark since she robbed a powerful former senator in the last book. Now he's caught her red-handed only to have her taken from his interrogation room by federal agents. It turns out the DCO has been tracking her since that last job too. Unwilling to lose her, he just follows the feds and winds up in the DCO too. (Totally saw that one coming.) I felt like Braden and Dreya's story was pretty straightforward, just building their partnership and training, until they got involved in the secondary story, which had Ivy and Landon (from book one) investigating a mental institution they suspected was cover for a hybrid lab. Then things started to get more interesting. I like that Trevor the coyote shifter and counterintelligence expert got involved in the investigation as well. I had been wanting to see more of him. (And he's the star of book seven so yay!) So while I was enjoying the story, I wasn't really impressed with the first half of this book. But boy did it have a powerful ending! It changes everything! I can't wait to see where the series goes from here! |
Yet another fantastic book from this brilliant author, I get so absorbed in her books that the time just flashes by. The characters are well developed and interesting, the plot held me captive the whole time. Would definitely recommend |
Detective Braden Hayes has finally caught the cat burgler he’s been after for years but before he can question her, two agents swoop in and escort his thief out. Feline shifter Dreya Clark thinks she’s safe from Braden’s prying questions but when the agents reveal that they not only know about Dreya’s shifter abilities but that she’s being recruited to work for the Department of Covert Operations because of them, Dreya starts wishing she had stayed with the detective. Then Braden is discovered following them and he’s brought into the DCO as well. As Dreya’s potential partner. That’s when things turn seriously hot, and seriously dangerous. Paige Tyler is shaking up her X-Ops world in a big way with Her True Match! Longtime X-Ops fans (Like me) already know who Braden and Dreya are. He’s been trying to catch her in the act of stealing and she’s been lucky enough to avoid being caught until now. I’m glad that Braden and Dreya’s book was the one to shake things up. They’ve been a favorite of mine since the very first time they appeared on the pages in a previous book. Their chemistry was always there and I’m glad that they both lived up to my expectations. Braden and Dreya made an excellent team in part to that chemistry and their attraction to one another but also because whatever one lacked, the other made up for. It was a great balance that was showcased the best when these two were on a mission and having to watch each other’s backs. The action and fast paced plot leaves no room for boredom and that’s one of the things I love best about this author. Her True Match also brought in almost all of the previous characters in some way, even if it was just mentioning their names, and that was a little bittersweet because right when I thought everything was getting wrapped up at the end, Tyler dropped a bombshell of a twist that had my jaw dropping and my emotions rioting. I’m definitely not going to spoil it because you just have to read this book for yourself (I would recommend reading the previous books first so that you can grasp just how much of a shocker this was), I will say that it was really gutsy of Paige Tyler to shake up the bigger plotline this way and it left me with the question of: What’s next for this group and for the ones that come after? I’m such a fan of Tyler’s work, she always manages to get me so involved with all her characters and her storylines but with this one, wow, I was caught off guard by the way this book ended. Now I’m just trying to distract myself until the next book is out and I can find out just what’s going to happen next. What a way to make sure this fan loses her mind while waiting for the next book! Her True Match is definitely going on my Best Reads of 2017 list. |
