But the job puts her in close quarters with Professor Brennan Gage, a man bent on exposing cult leaders to the public. This was a truly chilling book to read. It is truly horrific what Lynea had to endure while in the clutches of these people. I suspect that this scenario is sometimes too close to the truth. This book was masterfully written. All the characters were so real in every way.

The premise is that of a young girl, Lynea, and her sister, Cori, who escape a cult. But this book is also so much more. It shows the best and worst that humanity has to offer. From the psychopathic cult leader who uses the Bible and religion to indoctrinate his followers, to the pure selfless love of a sister who will put her own life on hold to help her sister achieve her dreams.

I literally could not put this book down once I started. There are so many twists and turns, unexpected and unwanted happenings. It had me in tears at one stage. It is one of those books that stays with you even after you have read the last page.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read this book.
