This was excruciatingly boring. The footnotes were ridiculous and unnecessary. The characters were self absorbed and uninteresting. The ending was sooooo weird and made the whole beginning of the book feel like even more of a waste of my time.

A fun, if light read, that could have been so much more. The characters were somewhat interesting, but too superficial, making it hard to connect. There was humor, and a fun twist to the reality tv star story, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for a "must have" book for our library.

This was such a funny story and was a delight to read. Margaret Stohl's voice and wit are evident through the writing and make this a fun whirlwind of a read.

I was never able to finish the whole book. Liked the beginning then lost interest and skipped to the end. Sorry I can't say more. Though at least I did want to find out how it ended.

I loved this book! It's a total send up of the reality tv genre (mostly the Kardashians, to be honest). I loved the humor in this book and spending time with the family. Bentley was a great character to follow, it was really easy to root for her as she tried to make more of herself than her reality tv dynasty.

I found this story a little annoying. The characters were one dimensional and I just get into it, no matter how hard I tried. Even a few of my students in our makeshift book club struggled to connect with the characters.

I couldn’t get into it. It was felt way too immature and childish for my tastes. I’m a bit disappointed since I love the author’s previous books. Oh well, I hope I enjoy the author’s next book.

Thank you for the chance to review this book, however, unfortunately, I was unable to read and review this title before it was archived.

I think this may be a case of wrong book, wrong time but I didn't enjoy the story and I DNF'ed it three chapters in. I couldn't get into it as I saw the characters as parodies of themselves. It's very much keeping up with the Kardashians in a book - and I hate that show. I'm sure it would be a lot more enjoyable for those that enjoy that sort of thing!

This was a hard read for me. It was difficult to keep the characters and the plots straight and I found myself only finishing it to finish. I didn't enjoy it and found the characters quite hard to relate with.

Royce Bentley occupies a world I rarely glimpse, reality television. I don't watch reality tv, so I didn't expect to like Royce. She did open my eyes to the constraints of living in a family ensnared in the public view. It doesn't make me want to sit down and watch any reality tv, much less binge watch it, but it did remind me of all the kids who are thrust into situations by their parent(s) that are not of their own doing. Empathy is never a bad thing. I think teens who do enjoy celebrity personalities and reality tv may enjoy this book, and hopefully gain an understanding of what goes on behind the scenes.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC copy, opinions are my own.

A bit predictable at times, but still such an entertaining read. I fell in love with this ridiculous, dysfunctional, reality TV family, and I thoroughly enjoyed following along with their antics and their scandals just as much as I enjoy bingeing episodes of Vanderpump Rules. I highly recommend it to any fan of reality TV shows similar to Keeping up with the Kardashians (who the Royces are clearly a parody of) and anything in the Real Housewives franchise.

I did not finish. I barely started. It was awful. I hated the notes at the bottom of the page. I was never a fan of reality shows but I wanted to give it chance since I liked Margaret Stohls. I couldn't do it. I'm not a fan when I book is like a text message or written like a Facebook post. It's a book.

I'm not one to really get into reality TV. This book looked fun - loved the cover. Although it was a little hard to follow at first, it got better - fast. There were some twists I wasn't expecting which made the book more likable.. Fabulous ending!

While I haven't been a fan of Margaret Stohl in the past, this novel has made me see her in a more positive light. This is what she should be writing and not that awful Icons series she tried.

Royce Rolls was definitely not what I was expecting! This book focuses on the Royce family who have a reality show. They are famous for being famous (sound familiar?) The characters are written well and they make you feel like you know them. We see how much of reality television is real and how each "character " plays their part. This book was funny and definitely had some twists and turns!

I had a very hard time starting this book, and the "production notes" didn't help the reader keep in the flow of the story. Much like the characters are caricatures of themselves on the show "Rolling with the Royces" that is how they felt in the writing, where there is very little additional detail to make a reader like them as people. The only character I felt an connection to was Bentley, who is mostly the narrator, but even that was hard because there was very little revealed about her inner workings until the end. I also didn't quite find the humor in the story either (with the exception of the duck incident). This book might find more of an audience with a young teen demographic.

I received an advanced free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love this author but I could not get into this book. The writing is on par just couldn't see my teens interested.

This book was pretty hilarious. Celeb news articles are interspersed throughout Bentley's account. Footnotes from their annoying producer, Jeff, and his assistant are included as well. These were a bit confusing in the ARC but made more sense once I read the actual book after it was released. Poor Bentley just wants to live her life but she hasn't become so selfish that she's willing to give up on the happiness of those in her family. Mercedes, the mother, was a piece of work but it was nice to see her evolution as her family started to fall apart. She wasn't your classic evil villain. The relationship between all of the siblings was hilarious fun too. It was clear that they meant more to each other than the fame. There were some plot stretching moments but those were forgiven as they worked to move the story along and it was set in LA. We kind of expect LA folks to be a bit unbelievable. A fun summer read for those curious about the behind the scenes lives of reality stars and family dynamic tales.
