This is officially one of my new favorite juvenile graphic novel series. Seriously, what is better than a narwhal? Oh, wait, a SUPERHERO narwhal! Yes, it really did get that awesome. I can't wait for future additions to this hilariously punny kids series to continue!

If you loved Narwhal's first book, get ready: Super Narwhal and Jelly Jolt (May 2017, Tundra, $12.99, ISBN: 9781101919194) is coming in May! In their second outing, the two best friends become super heroes - now, if they could just figure out what their powers are... As with the first book, Super Narwhal and Jelly Jolt features three short stories connected by the overall plot thread: in this case, being a superhero and a friend. Friendship, imagination, and self-esteem are enduring themes.

Another fun adventure for the awesome duo! A great little story about finding the best in yourself (and others)!

Another lovely book with three little vignettes, three linked stories. Narwhal has decided that he is going to be a super hero and Jelly offers to be his sidekick. They have fun, help a friend, and discover their own super powers.
I'd still characterize Narwhal as overenthusiastic but with a good heart. Jelly is still hesitant but game. A lovely story and one worth sharing.

Four Stars
This book comes out May 2
Follows Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea

My elementary aged students loved the first installment of Narwhal and Jellyfish so I was happy to see a second one. If it's possible, this one is even better than the first one. In this story, Narwhal decides he's a super hero so first, he needs a side kick. Once he finds a side kick, he needs to discover his super power. It turns out that Narwhal has LOTS of choices, but his super power is one we could all use. I love these fun characters!

Surprising and sweet superheroes in a new aquatic world. Narwhal and Jelly books are perfect for early graphic novel readers.

Absolutely hilarious and gorgeously illustrated. Definitely a must-read for any kids interested in marine life - or anyone who likes Narwhals and whimsy.

Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada for the chance to read and review this ARC;

I loved getting to read a previous arc for Narwhal and Jelly, and then to follow that deep enjoying up with buying copies for my nieces and nephews, so I was over the moon when I saw the next volume had been added up on here.

I loved the first story about superheroes, but my favorite before I hit a large hitch was "Narwhal, You're A Super Star!" I loved hope helpful he was trying to be, coming up with many options, and then how it had to do, whimsically, with wishing. My heart swelled at the joke about shooting stars, too.

Sadly, as of page 48-50 the pages (but it was several pages of turning on the ipad) are choppy and mixed together wrong and I can't tell what the rest of the story was supposed to be. Then, again, from 56-57 (but, again, 4-5 pages of ipad turning).

I do love that the last page makes the most important super power being "super" to your friends. I will look forward to buying this copy to follow up the next ones and seeing a finished copy of this one with the edit errors.

A great addition to the blossoming Narwhal and Jelly books! This one will sure to be a big hit in the classroom with its super-awesome superpower theme and amazing moral of spreading the super-ness! Definitely adding it to my classroom library as soon as it's out!

Narwhal and Jelly return in this graphic novel style layout for another fun adventure. As friends should do, they bring out the best in each other, celebrate each other's victories, and cheer one another up when one feels blue. Such a good intro to graphic novels, can't wait to see more of the Narwhal and Jelly series in the future!
I received a copy of this title from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first time sitting down and reading a book from the new Narwhal series. The narwhal series, is a beginner chapter book series for our early readers. I am disappointed in myself for not having picked up the first one yet! In this second edition, Narwhal and his friend Jelly have decided to become super heroes; the only problem is that they don't know what their super hero powers are. Each chapter focuses on their adventures, trying to figure out their super hero power. I cannot deny that I laughed a good bunch of times while reading. I can only imagine what a child would feel as they are reading it as well. TONS of laughs to be had! Definitely now has become my recommended read for beginner chapter book series.

In which we; learn how to be a super hero, what Narwhal's super power is and eat waffles!

I was super disappointed the formatting was off on my kindle for this little cutie but I still enjoyed the illustrations and the adorable story.
If I had the little kiddos still I would be purchasing all the Narwhal stories for our kiddo library.
Since my 14 year old is a complete stick in the mud, I will just have to wait for friends to have new little beasties so I can live vicariously through them.
Highly recommended even if you just need a smile and are craving waffles already anyway.

Thanks Netgally for the book approval in exchange for an honest review.

Now someone pass the syrup.

These books are so adorable and cute. I find myself laughing out loud with the puns. Narwhal and jelly can entertain the young and the young at heart. Thank you net galley for the advanced copy!

Adorable, ridiculous, lighthearted comic comedy. Easy-to-read panels with a cute and simple story.

Narwhal and Jelly have decided to become superheroes. Jelly's superpower is electricity, but what about Narwhal? As the pair work to figure out what Narwhal's super power is, they have fun all over the ocean and share facts about other ocean creatures.

I liked that this book has a combination of several short, fun stories and included two pages of facts about other ocean creatures. The drawings and text are simple and easy to follow, and would make a good read-aloud.. The search for Narhwal's super power could be a good jumping off spot for a discussion or writing exercise about what qualities make each student super.

Narwhals, for some reason, are one of my son's favorites. Though he's older than the intended audience (10), he still thought the book was good. My daughter (7) enjoyed reading it. As a younger reader, she was resistant to chapter books, but thanks to authors like Ben Clanton, the comic book story form helps those readers to progress. Even I had fun reading through the book.

The intended audience is listed as Grade 1-4, but I think it's probably best suited for 1st and 2nd graders. If you have a child that has been struggling with reading, or just doesn't enjoy it, give this book a try. The format, the easy words and the cute drawings might be enough to capture their attention and develop a love for reading.
