You know when your reading a REALLY, REALLY good story that you can't wait to finish because you need to know what happens next and find out who the friggin killer is, BUT you don't want it to end because it's so frigging good and you KNOW your going to have a book hangover when you're done. That's how this book was for me. Well... I held off as long as I could and had to finish it. This book was dark and edgy. It's a romance-suspense-thriller with some psychological twists to it that had me on the edge of my seat, and even when I wasn't reading this bloody book, my mind was thinking of all the different scenarios about what was going to happen next. Kudos to this author for writing a brilliant story with amazing characters and some mindfuck twists!! I loved it, and can't wait to read what she writes next! |
** review will be up on Kylie's Bookapalooza on release day** If you know anything about me, it's that when I find an author I love I go all in, in my adoration and devotion to their novels. If you follow me on any social media, you'll know that Abbie Roads is one of the authors that I would go to bat for, I would do just about anything to ensure she's able to keep writing, and Saving Mercy reinforces that desire ten fold. I have LOVED both of Abbie's books so deeply. But this book goes beyond anything I've ever felt for her previous work. Saving Mercy is a book to be beat. Poor Cain is the son of a serial killer, and even locked behind bars Killion haunts Cain's thoughts and decisions. On the other side of the coin is sweet Mercy, the only one to survive. Abbie does a fantastic job in twisting this story to create doubt and suspense. Twists and turns, shock and betrayal all run deep throughout this written journey. I cannot express my love for this book through written words. It's just not possible to do it justice. I'll leave you with this, if I could have a novel lamented, yet still readable I'd do so with this book. That way, it would forever be preserved. Absolutely outstanding. |

I loved Cain and Mercy. The connection between them was palpable. The whodunnit part of the story was excellent, and the set up for the next book intrigued me. I teared up a few times over the struggles both Cain and Mercy went through, but loved them together. I will definitely be reading the next book. |
