A man who doesn’t want a committed and a woman who is getting rid of all the toxins in her life including men, this makes for an interesting book, especially when these two people meet. The two main characters in Worth The Wait meet after going through some problems in their lives. Grace and Jeremy become friends after dealing with a break-up and rejection. Jeremy feels there is something about Grace he can’t ignore and he starts to rethink his non-commitment stance. Grace is standing by her man cleanse but the closer she gets to Jeremy the more she can’t deny the attraction. The story theme behind Worth The Wait definitely fits the title. This book had some drama, romance and the characters were ones I could invest in. I will say Grace did get on my nerves at times because I just wanted her to give in to Jeremy and for him to do the same. However, I could understand both of their hesitation due to what they experienced before meeting each other. The book did start slow for me but after picking up the author’s writing style, I was able to get into the story and the characters. Overall, this entertaining book had just enough romance, small twists and characters that carried out the story line until the end. I recommend Worth The Wait to others. |

What a great book! I wish I could take a seat at the bar at The Kingston Ale House so I could chat with all of the awesome characters that we've been introduced to throughout this fabulous series because they're all people that I would love to hang out with. Jeremy appears to be a happy go lucky kind of guy but he's been protecting his shattered heart for a while now and he avoids commitment like the plague. Grace has a lot of ambition and she's an excellent massage therapist but her dream of owning her own business is complicated by her judgmental parents and the jerk who stole her money and wants back into her life. Can Jeremy be the friend Grace so desperately needs to make her dreams come true? I read a complimentary copy of this book on NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own. |

When Grace swears off men she will find out one is worth it, if she can wait. Jeremy is thrown off his game when he meets Grace and it makes for a fabulous story with the perfect blend of humor, romance and sizzle. |
Great read. Was more taken with Jeremy than I expected to be!!! Full review to come x |
This book was really interesting. I look forward to reading more from this author! |
Pine has never been one to disappoint and she has ended her Kingston Ale Series on a high note. I was not sure which book would take the cake of this series, since I love them all so much, but this one wins! Everything about this story is quirky, fun, sexy, and hilarious. There are moments of passion and moments of hurt and confusion. You feel it all between the covers of this book! Worth the Wait is a refreshing contemporary romance story. Grace is a brilliant heroine. Any woman can relate to her and her frustrations. She is a woman that is determined to find herself and hopefully find love along the way. This character is inspiring. Her internal ramblings are humorous and her determination is admirable. I loved how I was able to cheer her on and be excited for what was hopefully coming in the future. Watching her attempt to find her place in life and love was endearing! We all know a leading lady needs the perfect man and Jeremy is just that. These two have chemistry off the charts. Their connection is something you can literally feel. I love how fate is trying to weave them together, giving them chances to meet and get to know each other. These two click. They both have things to work on in their lives and their budding friendship and attraction gives them safe place to find who they are. It was fantastic to see the Kingston gang back at it again. Jeremy is an important part of their crew and they flow in and out of the story. They adopt Grace into the fold and the community creates a fabulous backdrop to what is happening. Everything about this book is a win. The writing is top notch; the storyline flows very well; the characters are flawed and relatable, and you lose yourself in a story of healing, finding who you are, and second chances. Pine has a winner here and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the future. As much as I will miss the gang, I know that they are waiting for me whenever I want to come back again! |
What happens when two people who were burned by their exes find themselves falling in love again? Do they jump in eyes closed? Or do they come up with some bizarre way of doing things to get around it? Both Jeremy and Grace have been busy nursing broken hearts. Their temporary solution is to give up on relationships. These days, Jeremy likes being unattached as he happily goes through a series of women. Grace has sworn off guys, at least for six months as part of a man-cleanse, an idea she got from a self-help book. Things become tricky after she and Jeremy meet in a rather intimate way (he's her massage client) and an undeniable attraction follows. It's so tempting to do something but unfortunately, it's a case of right place, wrong time. Jeremy surprises himself by wanting to be with Grace, telling her that he'll wait for her until she's done with her cleanse and done putting herself back together. Sounds like a plan they can agree on: friends first, then whatever next. But wait. More complications arise when Grace winds up as star of her own reality show based on her current six-month hiatus from dating. It's a too-good opportunity that she can't afford to miss out on for a number of reasons. So for now it becomes a much harder wait for them. Meddlesome exes aren't helpful either. This was such a cute story to dive into about two young people wrestling with their feelings and gradually blurring the line between friends and lovers. These are characters becoming more self-aware and truthful about what they want. It's about taking another leap of faith despite the fact that things went badly before. And even though they're trying hard to behave themselves, they do manage to find loopholes, and those are always so fun! It was nice to see the rest of the Kingston Ale House gang again especially since there's guaranteed fun when they're around. One can almost envy this close-knit circle of friends who go way back. As for me, I get to live vicariously through these young friends living it up in Chicago. Here's the best reason to read A.J. Pine: for the happy vibes that will inevitably wash over you. Who doesn't love a story about falling in love again after what seems like devastating heartbreak? A happily-ever-after is a nice place to go after it's all said and done. So do yourself a favour and check out the Kingston Ale House series and read WORTH THE WAIT! |
I give Worth the Wait 5 stars for bringing out many emotions, and providing a great story. For him it was about being able to trust someone with his heart after being hurt by his ex. For her, she always thought physical chemistry meant that everything else was there, as in emotional connection. She needed to learn what trust really meant. A.J. Pine has written a great story about learning to trust again. The characters we awesome, the storyline perfect and although it did not end how I thought it would, it was even better. Jeremy and Grace meet when he goes on training, has a tough day and schedules a massage at his hotel, which she works at on weekends. Although she was not ready for a all-in relationship, she accepted his offer of a friendship; she did need friends. Can they keep it platonic? Grace Bailey is a beautiful, funny and totally off-limits massage therapist. She's been betrayed by her ex so she is on a six month man-cleanse; cut out all of the toxins in her life and focus on the basics of getting to know herself. What will she discover? Jeremy Denning enjoys a good pint of ale, women, and living by his own rules. He avoids commitment and has been like that for the past three years. When Grace popped into his life with her own "no man" policy, things changed. Does he trust her? Will he earn her trust? Worth the Wait is a contemporary romance novel that was about trusting. About trusting the right people by learning who you could trust, and most importantly, about trusting yourself. I loved this book. Reading Worth the Wait is so worth it! |
Totally love this series each book is simply brilliant and book 4 in the series certainly didn't disappoint. A lovely story about two people who were afraid to trust with their hearts. Since Jeremy was left broken hearted with a proposal refusal he's been in the 'no commitment' mentality when it comes to women, no relationships. Grace had her heart broken by her boyfriend when he made her work 2 jobs and took all her money. Grace and Jeremy are such likeable characters that are completely entertaining and keeping you hooked watching their relationship play out and unfold. Their banter was great. Great slow burn romance keeping your love for the Kingston Ale House series favourites. |
Worth the Wait and Jeremy Denning were undoubtedly worth the wait! Jeremy has his heart broken three years ago, and ever since then he's avoid any type of long term relationship. A love 'em and leave 'em is his motto and he sees no reason to think any differently. Grace Bailey is on a cleanse, getting rid of all the toxins in her life in what she eats, drinks, says, and more importantly men. Her last break up opened her eyes and this cleanse promises to remove the bad elements and help her see the good. A chance meeting brings these two together, their attraction is undeniable, but Grace is sticking to her cleanse which means starting something with Jeremy is not possible. This is all just bad timing. But Jeremy isn't going to let her get away that easy, he'll be the friend she needs if that is only way to keep her in his life. But the more time the spend together, the stronger their connection becomes. If Grace wants to stick to her plan, then Jeremy will help her. He'll wait until this cleanse is over and hopefully be the man she needs. I absolutely love the Kingston Ale House series and Worth the Wait is by far my favorite. I loved that they two have a chemistry that is deeper than just physical. I loved watching their friendship grow and deep as the months past. A deep, loyal, and trusting love develops that neither thought was possible given their past. What I especially love is that when they think they have destroyed their relationship, they still fight for each other knowing their love is worth fighting for. Seeing the couples from the previous books was fun, and meeting the new cast of characters was intriguing. Mrs. Abellis was my favorite. I loved this book, it's witty, funny, sassy, and sexy. I didn't want to put it down and I seriously didn't wait to see it end. This sweet and endearing romance story is one I highly recommend. If you are new to AJ Pine, I suggest picking up the Kingston Ale House series today, I promise you'll be pleased you did. |

This book went in a whole different direction that I was anticipating and was a breath of fresh air. I look forward to more from AJ Pine. |
3.5 stars - copy received through Netgalley for honest review Unlike most, I didn't read the previous books. I missed the fact that it was book 4. This is a standalone even though characters from the previous books were mentioned. The story was cute. Grace and Jeremy both are gun shy after getting there hearts broken. When they meet, Grace is in the middle of a cleansing. She is cutting out all toxics, including men. Things get complicated once Grace becomes part of a reality, internet show. There are some fun times and light laughs throughout. We have meddling exes, and friends and families with good intentions. It makes for an entertaining story. I am sorry I missed the previous books. I will have to put them on my TBR list. |

Worth The Wait is a fun, well written new adult romance. It is the fourth book in the Kingston Ale series and it features Grace and Jeremy. She is a masseuse who is fasting to create her new self by avoiding dating, sex, alcohol, caffeine, and unhealthy food. Grace's ex used their relationship to ingratiate himself with her parent's and left her high and dry. Jeremy is in town to attend a seminar and he suffers from a bad back. He tries to get a massage from Grace but hits on the receptionist and is promptly refused. Later Jeremy meets Grace again the bar and is in obvious pain. She decides to help him and tells him all about the book that inspired her fast. She has three months left and is working two jobs to rebuild her nest egg, which was stolen by her ex. When Jeremy returns home, he encounters Grace twice. He realizes that the universe is trying to tell him something and begins a friendship with Grace. They have a complicated courtship that includes Jeremy being a wingman while Grace is featured dating different men. If your a fan of complicated new adult romance this is a book that your will absolutely love! i was given a free copy for an honest review. |
Worth the Wait was definitely a fun read like the rest of the books in this series. After suffering from a betrayal, Grace vowed to do a man cleanse from her life which includes no touching or kissing anyone for at least six months. Jeremy is still recovering from the wound left by his ex-girlfriend. They both keep on bumping into each other and no sooner sparks fly between them. But Grace wants to complete what she promised herself and Jeremy want to be the one to be the man in her life after this is over. Will Grace be worth the wait? This book was really fun to read. I liked the plot and enjoyed how everything was executed. After Grace’s ex-boyfriend betrays her, she vows to bring a complete change in her life including a man cleanse. But her strength wavers after she gets to know Jeremy who she met while doing her job. I really, really loved Jeremy, he was absolutely perfect! The story spun in an interesting direction after Jeremy’s ex-girlfriend & reporter entered the scenario. I liked how Jeremy and Grace handled the situation in their own way. Though Grace was very insecure despite the fact that it was crystal clear Jeremy felt so much more for her. Due to her insecurity, she made some shitty decisions but in the end, I kind of understood where she was coming from. Jeremy… oh, this guy just perfect and absolutely swoon-worthy! His faith from Grace never wavered and he was ready to wait for Grace how long it took. He was patient, understanding and never judged Grace. He was simply so sweet and he melted my heart! I loved the romance between them. Overall, Worth the Wait was a good read. I enjoyed the plot and fell in love with the characters. I loved the chemistry between Grace and Jeremy. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I am definitely looking forward to reading more by this author. Recommend it? Yes. |
I love when a prologue grabs you from the very beginning and pulls you in, and Worth the Wait definitely did that for me. When I read the first few paragraphs, I really couldn’t wait to see exactly what happened! The storyline was cute and a bit different from other books in the contemporary romance genre. Jeremy and Grace were both characters I could easily relate to. Each has trust issues, but as I learned more about them, I could understand why, especially considering Grace’s past. I love a book in which fate and destiny play a big part, and in my opinion, fate is truly what brought these two together. If Jeremy hadn’t been in a hotel and had such a rough day, he never would have found himself on Grace’s massage table. Even though she’s on a “man cleanse,” Jeremy will definitely tempt her. While the book is a romance, it’s also about two people who have to learn what it means to trust again, and may just discover that each one of them is “worth the wait.” Yes, I love when a title is what the book is really all about. I have been a fan of A.J. Pine’s for several years now. She always manages to keep her storylines and characters fresh and different, even when it’s in a series. She also blends her new characters with older characters with ease. She also manages to have the perfect combination of sweet and hot! She perfected that in this book! I highly recommend reading her books if you like characters with depth and your romance with a little heat! Can’t wait to see what she has next for her fans!!! ***Read and Reviewed for Devilishly Delicious Book Reviews*** ***Copy provided by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.*** |
READ.THIS.BOOK. *drops mic* Seriously. This book is already one of my top ten books of the year. A New Adult that makes sense. Two people that have been betrayed in the worst way and have major trust issues with the opposite sex. Grace especially. I really felt for her; her family didn’t help that much when it came to her ex but they did help her in other ways. Her ex is the biggest POS that I’ve read in a long time. Jeremy’s ex is just as bad and takes advantage of Grace in the beginning but she isn’t as bad as Grace’s. I loved the idea of the cleanse and also posting it on Facebook. I loved how Ms. Pine makes her stories relatable to the younger reader but also, this old broad can relate to it, too. I loved Grace’s internal dialogue and how she rationalized what she was doing and how she is feeling throughout the book. She just never expected Jeremy and I adored how she handled her feelings for him and how it all worked out. Jeremy is a dream. I normally don’t like it when the hero has the same issues that the heroine has but he had a lot of growing up to do in the book. He had to figure out how to have a real relationship with a woman that didn’t involve sex. He had to learn to talk to Grace, become friends with her and learn to trust again. Don’t get me wrong…there are smexy times but it’s NOT what you think. It’s BETTER! Oh, yes, better. Ms. Pine has written a great book that doesn’t revolve around how many times they can get into each other’s pants. It’s a character driven story that anyone can relate too and enjoy. I’m sad to see this series end. I’ve read every book and they are all wonderful but Grace and Jeremy stole my heart and still haven’t let go. READ.THIS.BOOK. *drops mic again* You’re welcome. |
Living the carefree life, drinking and learning how to make a pint of ale, in the hopes of becoming a partner in the bar. After a long day of sitting in an uncomfortable chair in an 8 hour course, he is ready for a well deserved Massage. What he didn't bargain for was finding a woman that would not only soothe his aching back, but one that would bring back his reason for more. Grace, has had it rough, so bad that she has decided that she is on a cleanse, a man cleanse for 6 months. Now on her last 3 months and the home stretch, what she didn't need was Jeremy coming in and making her doubt her judgment. What she didn't expect was that Jeremy was everything her cleanse promised she would have, a man that would love her for her and not what she could give physically. A true friend and more. A story of friends first and then more, a book that will have you engrossed in the lives of these two and how their pasts come barreling in trying to destroy what they have gained, love, friendship, a bond. A book worth every minute of sleep lost for me. Love!!! |
Worth the Wait was a sweet story about two people who have been badly burned in relationships finding love again. Jeremy and Grace have no interest in relationships when they first meet, or when they meet again, or once again. Wait, is the universe trying to tell them something, perhaps? ;) I really liked the two of them together--so cute!--and loved that Grace's "cleanse" meant that for 90% of the book their relationship had nothing more physical than the occasional kiss on a forehead or hand. (And some phone calls...but they don't technically count as getting "physical", right? ;)) It made for some very sweet moments and meant that the two of them really got to know each other without all of the physical stuff muddying the waters. Or...did it? There was a bit more confusion/questioning of feelings toward the end than I'd expected--though some of that was each of them doubting themselves, rather than doubting the other one--and I'm still not 100% why Jeremy and Grace didn't take care of what needed to be taken care of before the hospital visit took place (since we learn about the ER visit and non-kiss in the prologue, I'm not really spoiling anything here--it'll drive you crazy for most of the book anyway) though I do admit that the circumstances came together to make a pretty memorable resolution overall. It was--wait for it--Worth the Wait. ;) The Kingston Ale House books all work pretty well as standalones--ironically, the only one in the series that I have yet to read is Jeremy's sister's book ( Three Simple Words ), but you'd better believe I'll remedy that as soon as I can. Since this is the last in the series, all of the other couples make appearances here; if you haven't read their books yet, no worries, but I can't guarantee you won't want to read them before you get to the last page. But that's what TBR lists are for, right? ;) Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. |

A J Pine's "Worth the Wait" is Worth the Read! "Worth the Wait" is really not what I was expecting and better than I anticipated. The plot A. J. Pine uses is pretty inventive. A woman, Grace, reads a self-help book about taking six months and living "cleanly" to give one clarity. This isn't limited to food and alcohol, but language and sex. Grace's a masseuse, she's strong, ambitious, selfless, loving, and a Romantic. Jeremy's a player who works in a bar, in which he's about to become a co-owner. He got burned, terribly, by a woman he loved and vowed never commit to anything again. Now Jeremy's all about the good time, he's fun, loyal, patient, and protective. The book's full of fabulous characters, many have appeared in their own books within the Kingston Ale House series. The pace is perfect and the storyline keeps you hooked. Boy and Girl Meet. Boy and Girl like each other. Boy and Girl Date with all of Chicago watching. Boy and Girl beat the odds for a Happily Ever After. Jeremy is a fantastic Hero the perfect proportions of Flirt to Smitten Kitten. Grace is a great Heroine. She's trying to do the right thing for herself, trying to achieve her dream, while protecting those she loves. "Worth the Wait" doesn't come across as a "Sweet" romance even though the sex doesn't happen until the last 25 pages. If you use pages. "Worth the Wait"'s story holds your attention, it's so rich and intriguing you don't mind going that long without sex. The Kingston Ale House series is a keeper and "Worth the Wait" is a gem. |
