I could not put this book down. Once again the author grabs you by the throat and drags you down this dark and twisty road. I just could not figure out the "killer" until the author finally revealed it. And then to foreshadow the next book in the series, oh my!.

As someone who never reads horror books and an active user of Tinder, I've had to stop reading for my own sanity. However, from what I have read, I really enjoyed the author's voice and how distinct each character was, even when they weren't around for a long period of time. I really wish I was able to continue but I'm already on-edge and having trouble distracting myself.

I could not get into this book, perhaps because I had not read any of the others in the series

Wow, what a great read. I was pleased to find out Jo Nesbo had brought Harry Hole out of retirement, and I have to say, he brought him back with a bang. Just when I thought I knew who the killer was, Nesbo took the spotlight to another character, and finally managed to unveil a character who I hadn't even considered. The book is a page turner that I wasn't able to put down for long. Definitely a five star read.

Such an enjoyable thriller! This was my first Jo Nesbø book, so I was jumping into the 11th book in the Harry Hole series. Of course, I’d heard of his books before. His covers are so creepy and the visuals give you a hint as to what’s in store. He certainly grabbed my attention and held it from the first chapter. And, thankfully, I was able to follow everything, despite starting well into the series.
The Thirst focuses on an old nemesis who is targeting people on Tinder. Former Detective Harry Hole is asked/blackmailed by the Police Chief, Mikael Bellman, to run a special team. We then follow Harry, his team, and some of the regular police as they chase the serial killer of the moment. I won't get into all of the details, as there are many twists and turns, but the story moves quickly and ends with quite a bang too. While I wait for #12 to be released, I can start going back to Harry's earlier exploits.

Once again we meet up with former detective Harry Hole who is no longer on the Oslo police former but a lecturer. He is still fighting off his demons of alcohol and nightmares of his life. He is called in as a consultant in a serial killer which resolves among vampirism and drinking of human blood.
Things come closer to him, as victims start to have a tie inwith Harry as the murderer tautens him. Also there is a sick wife who ends up in a coma to make things interesting a cast of less than perfect people who cannot be trusted.
Once again Harry Hole and the gang takes you on a wild ride of unexpected adventure.

Police Chief Mikael Bellman wants a promotion to Justice Minister. He enlists Harry Hole, using blackmail tactics, to return to the police force and solve the case of a serial killer. Harry quickly recognizes signs of a nemesis from his past.
The story moved at a good pace although some descriptions were excruciatingly detailed
and I felt the story lag in those areas. There was a lot of action and suspense from beginning to end. Twists and turns throughout the book made it impossible to figure out the true villain until the end.
The characters were realistically developed with dialogue and actions that were believable.
I liked the story and recommend it to others.
