Just not in my wheelhouse - the writing is stilted and the pacing felt really odd. It's an early entry in this series so perhaps the author was finding his footing, so I wouldn't dismiss the rest out of hand, but this was disappointing.

This is the second book in the Lyon and Bea Wentworth series and I wish I had read the first. Does Lyon have some training as a spy? If not, then he is intuitive to an amazing degree. This is very light reading but fun. I find the title inexplicable, though.

I received a review copy of "The Wizard of Death" by Richard Forrest (Open Road) through NetGalley.com.
