I didn't have time to read this book before release so I will not be leaving a review. If I choose to read this book at some point I will grab a finished copy from my public library and post a review to my Goodreads account.

This is my first ever experience with reading Joliet Lyons. That being said this is her paranormal romance debut so I don't know if this is her first book or if she's written and published other novels but this is my first time ever hearing of her. I don't know how I feel about it yet. The whole concept of this book is girl meets vampire, girl and vampire share very heated kiss, girl feels she will never see vampire again so girl joins internet dating website for vampires to meet humans and vice versa in attempt to find him. I like the idea of it. In theory it's great. I feel like it was somewhat poorly executed, and maybe a little all over the place. Things are a little jumbled and dragged on in parts. I don't want to give away the whole book but like a ex comes into play a few other things happen and it's just a bit.....too much. I also don't enjoy using exs as plot points. Now that I'm through the bad stuff I think we're okay to move on to the good stuff. The dialogue was funny. I liked both Logan and Silver as characters. I liked Logan and Silver together. I like that we got to meet Vincent because his book is next. And I like the Ancients were like kind of their own separate thing. That kind of gave some originality to the book.
Maybe it just wasn't for me. I liked it, didn't love it. Probably wouldn't read it again.

DNF

There's nothing in particular that I didn't like about this book, it's just a case of I didn't click with it. My "first impression" wasn't compelling, I didn't feel the need to to keep reading.

PS Apologies for the late feedback, life's been busy and I'm just finding the time transcribing my reviews here.

This paranormal romance is based in contemporary London. Silver Harris meets a vampire Logan Byrne by accident and after one kiss is hooked. But she is convinced she will never meet him again so joins up with a vampire dating service called V-date. Logan works for an underworld character who told him to dissuade Silver from wanting to use V-date. Logan does not know why but he finds himself disobeying his Boss.

It was unusual to find a character who is described as desirable needing help to find a match. But in today's busy metropolitan lifestyle it is very hard to find someone compatible and not just surface beautiful which is what Silver is looking for.

It was a light sexy read. Logan sounds to die for as a hero in the story. Plenty of misunderstandings and mishaps.

Good story! Sometimes is a little slow but the ends worth it.
I love vampire books and this is hilarious, I enjoy reading it.

Dating The Undead is one of the most seductive paranormal reads I’ve come across. Taking the technology of the twenty first century and adding a paranormal twist. Dating online has never been more interesting than when you can browse through tons of hot vampires.

The story starts off with Silver whose personality is just as different as her name. She is down on her luck and fiery as ever when she catches her boyfriend…or should I call him her date sucking face with a rich prissy b*tch. And I quote, “Back then, I had a date – one I envision kissing at the stroke of midnight and not kicking in the balls after catching him sucking face with some Latvian skank.” This all happens within the first few pages of the book. I love stories that put a smile on my face with witty humor.

Silver’s personality is clear and very refreshing from the start. Her take on life and her bluntness makes for a great read. Its only when she’s at her lowest…getting kicked out of the party…after stealing someone else’s coat, that she meets a mysterious vampire who insists on walking her home.

Logan, a sexy vampire with an Irish accent is very similar to Silver. Doesn’t want to be tied down in a relationship, very cocky and yet knows exactly what he wants. It isn’t until the two of them meet and have a ‘bite’ together that each other lingers in the others mind. Just like Silver, Logan has had a troublesome past and relationship issues. This only makes them want each other even more.

Logan gets ordered to conduct a job from his superior while Silver accepts a job as well. Little does Silver know that her job is intertwined with Logan’s objective. Logan is asked to glamour girls that have been asked to go undercover by the local police. Silver has been asked to go undercover to gather critical information about vampires through the thriving website V-Date.com.

Things get sticky when Logan can’t follow through and Silver tries to keep her budding romance with Logan disconnected to her findings. But things aren’t always that easy. Each of their pasts are more connected than they think. Vampire laws are broken and hearts shatter when truths are discovered.

The beginning of the story was great, but as it progressed I felt my interest slipping. Silver was becoming what she vowed never to become, a needy girlfriend and Logan kept on talking about the growing bulge in his pants. Spoiler…once the two of them sleep together their scenes mostly consist of explicit sex scenes. And when they weren’t together that’s pretty much all the other thought about. The quirky independent woman slowly faded and turned into a tramp needing to get laid. While the vampire that has never really loved anyone is willing to get himself killed for a human that he’s fallen in love with.

The underlying plot that was weaved in through the story and the drama from an outside character (not to be named) saved the story for me. I would’ve liked to see more interaction with supporting characters instead of repetitive sex scenes. The ending however took a joyful turn. I would recommend this read for readers that enjoy lightly coated erotic novels.

Dating the Undead is the first book in the V-Date.com series by Juliet Lyons. When Silver Harris kisses sexy Irish vampire Logan Byrne on New Year's Eve, she knows other humans just won't suffice. Convinced she'll never see him again, she joins the uber-popular vampire dating site, V-Date.com.What Silver doesn't know is that the site is more dangerous than she could ever imagined, and soon she's in over her head. When Logan returns, sparks fly and attraction sizzles, but they'll have to escape some very real demons if they have any chance of lasting forever.

Dating the Undead is a paranormal romance with a couple fun twists. I liked Silver's spunk, but found the convenience of some of the coincidences that moved the story forward a bit too much. However, the ride was still entertaining. I liked the pairing between Logan and Silver, and their banter. However I found Silver's eagerness to get people in bed a little offputting. I get the idea of a liberated woman, but there is still safety and common sense- which she is lacking much of the time. I liked much of the set up and world building and character interactions. I enjoyed the read and loved some of its parts, but did not love the book as a whole.

Dating the Undead is a fun and exciting romance, with a nice blend of emotional and physical conflicts. It was not amazing, but satisfying for a quick read.

I'm generally a big fan of paranormal romance, but this one was just OK for me. Starting out, I didn't find the heroine to be very relatable so that could have been part of it. My favorite character was actually the quirky old neighbor (I wish we had seen more of her). I don't have much to say about this book. It was paranormal cute with a bit of a "Mafia" vibe.

That being said, I might try the next book in the series. I was definitely intrigued by the vampire cop and I'm hoping a different heroine will make this series a "must read" for me.

I received an advance reader copy of this book that I have chosen to review.

It's hard to rate this book. I enjoy the snark, the humor. But, at the same time, so much of this story lagged and just drug on and on. The flow was too choppy. It was an interesting premise, something I hadn't read a million times before. I thought it was cute, the characters were interesting. If it had flowed better, it would have been a 4 star read. I will most likely pick up the second, as authors learn with each book. So I'm interested in seeing what this series becomes.

This one was a DNF for me. I liked the premise, but the pace was slow through the first 35% and I didn't connect with the characters. There simply wasn't any urgency, and Silver's brash attitude toward Logan rubbed me a little wrong. The story is narrated in alternating first person present tense, which—while refreshingly different—is an odd choice for an adult romance. Ultimately I stopped reading before anything truly exciting happened.

Oh boy, new series to enjoy! Dating the Undead is the first in the new V-Date.com series from Juliet Lyons, and it was such a treat! Bringing vampires into the modern age with online dating is a brilliant idea that I haven’t seen before, and I am really looking forward to seeing where Lyons takes it from here!

Silver Harris wasn’t looking for love. She was just trying to get home after being kicked out of a club. But after she kisses Logan Byrne, her life will never be quite the same. On top of dealing with her feelings for Logan, an extremely sexy, slightly stalker-ish vampire, she has agreed to help the police spy on vampires using a dating website for people looking to hook up with vampires, v-date.com. Apparently it’s difficult to both date a vampire AND simultaneously spy on his species.

Logan has never been interested in love. So it was no problem for him to fulfill his boss’s request of using V-Date to glamour young women into wanting nothing to do with vampires. But when he meets Silver on New Years’ Eve, things don’t exactly go as planned. He’s never before been so fascinated by one woman, and his growing infatuation with her may make his mission a little more difficult to accomplish.

There is a lot to love about this book. Silver and Logan are both great in their own ways. Silver is probably one of the sassiest leading ladies I’ve had the pleasure of reading about for a while, and I loved every second I got to spend with her. She refuses to take crap from anyone, which I always love in a heroine. On top of that, she is not afraid to take charge when it comes to her life.

Logan was a wonderful tortured soul (because what vampire isn’t tortured?) but he was more than that. He was warm and kind, and wonderfully sarcastic. The banter between him and Silver kept things nice and light. And that Irish accent of his just makes everything so much better! It was nice to see him go from being someone who keeps women at bay to being someone who is falling head over heels.

I do wish there had been a few stronger side characters. Aside from Ollie, Silver’s best friend who we don’t see nearly enough of, Logan’s boss, Ronin, and our main bad guy (who I’ll leave nameless for spoilers’ sake) we don’t get a ton of supporting cast. Silver has a co-worker that she’s friends with, but I’ve forgotten her name to be completely honest. She also has family members, who I didn’t necessarily care about.

Lyons has a terrific writing style, the story flowed seamlessly, never rushing, never lagging, and her characters are vibrant and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series! 4 out of 5 controllers, for lack of strong secondary characters and maybe a few too many lewd jokes.

I fell in love with the cover Dating the Undead as soon as I saw it and that plus pretty much everything else about it made me want to read it! I will confess that I actually started reading it months ago, but it was during one of my picky-no-book-is-satisfying-me moments, so I actually decided to stop reading it and pick it up another time. And now, I wish I could go back in time and shake myself because I should have never stopped reading it in the first place! Dating the Undead was positively excellent and while it didn't work out the first time because I was crazy, the second time was definitely the charm - I completely loved it!

Silver is not your typical sweet, gentle heroine - far from it. She's snarky and bossy and sarcastic and she doesn't let people get close. She doesn't take guff from anyone and she pretty much always speaks her mind. Silver is fierce and once you're in with her, you're in, she's loyal and would fight for you and to be with you. I absolutely loved Silver, I loved her personality and how tough she was, but even that couldn't stop her from caring about and loving Logan - she's the best!

It was impossible not to fall in love with Logan. He's funny and silly and playful. He's almost always teasing and being inappropriate. He's so fun, but he's also sweet and his feelings for Silver are obvious. Logan is one hundred percent in love with her, he's protective and would do anything for her. Logan is just a great guy and totally heart melting.

There were times when Dating the Undead broke my heart and made it ache, but for the most part, I had such a fun time reading it. It made me laugh and smile a lot, I loved watching Silver and Logan's little teasing banter matches - it was just pure and good. Dating the Undead was a sweet, sexy, heartwarming read, I wholeheartedly enjoyed it, and I'm excited to read the next book in the series!

Dating the Undead is a the first book in the V-Date.Com series, it's told from Logan and Silver's POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after.

Dating the Undead puts a new twist on the vampire-human romance trope. I mean who would think of vampires using an online dating service? Definitely not me, but it works so well in the story. Logan and Silver are completely adorable and full of witty banter. I devoured this book in just a few hours and it had me laughing almost the entire time. Even though it is the first book in a series, it can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

DATING THE UNDEAD was such a wonderful surprise! Ms. Lyons’ prose is delightful, smooth, sophisticated yet very modern; and the dialogues sound natural, and Ms. Lyons has a delightful sense of humour. The romance felt genuine at all times, no mean feat for a paranormal romance. I liked her twists on vampires, and the sex scenes are superb. Logan and Silver are both lovely characters, I loved them together and separately, and they share such terrific banter! Juliet Lyons is definitely an author to watch!

Silver Harris has had it with men. When she runs into a vampire for the first time, her attraction and his mannerisms makes her think it’s time to try a different kind of man. She decides to try a dating app that sets humans up with vampires. When her first date turns out to be Logan Byrne, her mysterious vampire from a few days before, she can’t deny the attraction.
When I read the description of this book, I thought would be funny. There really weren’t many funny parts to the book, but it was still a pretty good story. Silver’s character was a bit extreme sometimes but Logan was able to offset her. It did take me a little bit to get into but I still enjoyed it. I recommend.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read something paranormal. I miss it. I was really excited about reading Dating the Undead, the first title in the Undead Dating Service / V-Date.com series.

I wasn’t disappointed.

Ms. Lyons did a fabulous job setting up her vampire world so readers would easily buy-in and suspend belief for the rules of her universe. Which is important when there’s human-vampire interaction going on.

Silver is an independent young woman and she is sassy, stubborn, pretty much fearless, and able to function on her own without the assistance of a man. I love her unique way of dressing, and her thought process. Silver is who I imagine myself to be, were I 20-something and on the market 🙂 We get a lot of information about her, too. I like knowing her background and how she came to be the way she is.

Logan is a vampire. He’s almost 200 years old. He’s not afraid to tell Silver about his past, either. Mostly. What I like about Logan is that he’s honest with Silver (to a point). He is a bit of an AlphaMale, but I don’t think he crosses into alpha-hole territory. Which is important. Although, he does have a few missteps with regard to info that should have been divulged to Silver much sooner—but then again, it creates conflict and we all need conflict in our books!

Not only were the sexy times super hot and well-written, but I definitely saw the relationship build between Logan and Silver. Initially, it felt like a huge case of doing-it-like-bunnies lust, but the intimacy between the couple increased in wonderful ways that made the ‘I love yous’ believable.

I really was impressed with the whole vampire world. The hierarchy. The rules. It all made so much sense to me.

While there was some suspense tossed in along the way, it enhanced the plot and the overarching romance for me.

I can’t wait to read the next installment of Undead Dating Service—and I hope we get to see more of Silver and Logan. A second title in the series is due out October 2017.

This was both funny and sexy! I enjoyed it a lot and would love to see more stories from this realm.

A fun read featuring Silver and Logan. Reminiscent of Katie Macalister's snarky books. Silver was a fun character and Logan was a vampire that is fighting his nature and his orders. Great chemistry between the mc's. Four glittery stars. Can't wait to read book 2!

Thank you to Netgalley, Juliet Lyons and Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me to read and review Dating the Undead. I loved it! It was a sassy and funny read with a dollop of intrigue and adventure.

Silver Harris is kicked out of a New Year’s Eve party for throwing her drink over a woman she catches kissing her date and a well-placed kick directed at her date’s unmentionables. While out on the street, she meets a gorgeous man, who walks her home. They get along really well and end up sharing a sizzling midnight kiss to celebrate the New Year.

Silver soon realises that her sexy Irish man is a vampire but she doesn’t mind, even after he bit her, as it was the best kiss of her life.

She tells her step-sister, Jess, the next day about her exciting night. Unfortunately, Silver had no way of contacting her vampire (she didn’t get his name) and had given him a false address when he had walked her home. Jess mentioned that there was a vampire dating website called V-Date so Silver decides to join in the hopes that he is on the site. Silver goes on a few dates with vampires from V-Date but she doesn’t connect with any of them and finds herself incredibly bored.

Meanwhile, the vampire that Silver is besotted with, Logan, has been tasked by his head vampire (boss) to track down human women dating on V-Date. It is imperative that Logan glamour these women to forget about vampires so that they can keep their secrets. Ironically, the first woman Logan is instructed to glamour is Silver but he can’t bring himself to do it as he doesn’t want her to lose interest in him. This could get him in serious trouble with his boss but he thinks Silver is worth it.
At the same time, Silver is contacted by the police as they want her to go undercover on V-Date to obtain information about the vampires that she meets. She decides to do it once they agree to re-investigate her mother’s death which happened when Silver was just 9 years old. The police set up a fake account for Silver and she starts meeting up with vampires in the hopes of extracting their secrets.

Things get a bit tense with Logan ignoring his “boss’s” directive and Silver informing on the vampires to the police. Despite this, they can’t help falling in love. Where will this lead?

To complicate things further, Logan’s original sire appears on the scene. She wants to punish him for not being the murderer that she wanted him to turn into. How will this affect Silver and Logan’s romance?

After reading the blurb for this book, I knew it was going to be an enjoyable, fun read. I like Silver’s feistiness and sense of humour. I appreciated how Logan managed to maintain his humanity after all those years. The author did a great job of writing their romance and developing their characters. This is an appealing read.

This books deserves a fabulous 4 stars.

*Thank you Sourcebooks and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review*

I am a sucker for vampires, let's get that out of the way lol when I read the synopsis for this book and found out it centered around a dating app for vampires, I immediately said yes please!

Now from reading this synopsis I expected there to be insta-love and there most certainly was. I really enjoyed the characters as individuals but I wasn't completely on board with their relationship because of how fast it did move and it also seemed like just sex at times. I thought that both Silver and Logan had some solid foundations for their characters, and I loved hearing about Logans past especially, because that's where our main conflict stems from.

I do have to say I was much more interested in the conflict within this book then the actual relationship, which is a little unfortunate since the fist half of the book is mainly about them getting together and it took me awhile to get through that part of the book. I fell like it picked up a lot for me once Logans past started to catch up to him and that was the part I really enjoyed!

I think that the idea of vampires could have been developed a little more in this book and Silver could have gone a little more in depth about trying to find out more about how they work, because I did enjoy those parts! It would have been nice to learn a little more about how the hierarchy in this vampire world works, also why and how exactly they turn people into vampires, things like that.

Overall I did enjoy the book but thought it could use a little more development throughout.
