The idea that there is a dating site where vampires are the clients is what made me want to check this book out. I found this book to be a fun read. Although, I was hoping for more of a comedy. Yet, despite not getting that result, I did find this book to be an easy and fast read. Silver and Logan do share chemistry. However, I would not call it sizzling but more like hot. Luckily, the two of them were fun to be around as there was not much happening in the story. Like really no action other than Logan and Silver together. There was potential in what I read but not enough to make me jump for joy and rush to read the next book in this series. |

I read the book in one sitting. I loved it. The book has everything needed for a good romance- a strong, sarcastic and funny female character and a mysterious handsome male character. They meet and sparks fly. Fantastic story plot and well-laid plan. The word-play is incredible and the dialogues were to die for. The romance is steamy and leaves one wanting more. The side characters were also very easy to connect to.It was a very light story that provides a different point of view on vampires. It stands out from all the cliches and tries not to showcase vampires as blood-sucking monsters Overall it was a fast read that I enjoyed thoroughly and would surely recommend it to all my reader friends. Thank you for providing me with a copy of the book. |

Dating the Undead by Juliet Lyons is the 1st book in her V-Date.com series. This was a different type of paranormal story line revolving around vampires and humans. Silver Harris, our heroine, is a beautiful feisty sexy young girl, who secretly is trying to find the person responsible for killing her mother. Silver starts dating vampires, which in this book, seems the norm for human girls who find them sexy and attractive. Silver has agreed to go undercover using the V-Date.com site to help the police learn more information about how vampires live and how to stop them. Logan Byrne is close to 200 years old, and is a gorgeous vampire with sexy green eyes. He saves Silver from a bad vampire, and in no time their attraction for each other is hotter than hell. Logan works for Ronin, the ancient vampire who he is blood bound to; Little does Logan know that the assignment he is given, will bring him to Silver. Their relationship was great, as Silver was a piece of work, with her off the cuff sassy comments, and I loved them together. They were so much fun, not to mention totally steamy. Logan realizes he is falling in love with Silver, having feelings he has not had for so long. Because he knows his boss will not approve, and his fear of his old dangerous sire coming back to haunt him, Logan will decide to break up with Silver to keep her safe. Once he finds out that Silver is working for the police, Logan knows he has to protect her, and also knows he can’t live without her. At this point, all hell is about to break loose, with Logan’s sire returning putting both of their lives together. During this time, Silver will also find out who was responsible for her mother’s murder. I enjoyed Dating the Undead, mainly because the main characters were lots of fun, likeable and their chemistry was off the wall. After the exciting & surprise climax twist, there was an epilogue that moved forward three years in time, which was a nice touch. I do recommend Dating the Undead to read if you enjoy paranormal romances with vampires |
Silver Harris is a shopgirl with a yen for a vampire that gave her a New Year’s Eve kiss. She goes on the dating site for vampire-human dating hoping she can get the same tingles or even find that hot vampire. The police find her, enlist her to spy on the vampires on the site, and make her an offer she can’t refuse. Meanwhile Logan Byrne is sent to glamour her so she doesn’t remember anything about vampires. But he can’t bring himself to glamour the woman he is falling for. Silver and Logan have combustible chemistry together and embark on a torrid love affair that could mean the end of both of them. Oh Goody! Here we have a Paranormal Romance chock full of steamy sex and torrid action all wrapped up in a terrific story line, relatable characters, evil villainous vampires and a few loveable ones (but don’t tell them that, they get miffed). These vampires don’t need blood to survive but like a bite, they can’t fly but can do giant leaps, and they are all gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed this well written introduction to a new series. I look forward to the next, Romancing The Undead, book #2, about Vincent a vampire we met in this book. |
Three and a half stars. I really liked the characters of Silver and Logan, and I thought their chemistry and banter was great. I also liked the whole world-building surrounding the vampires and their history, including how the could-be-problematic-but-wasn't vengeful sire was handled. There is a lot of setting up for future stories in this book (first in a series), and between that and the police angle I did feel that it pulled away from the main storyline. I don't know if this is partly because of the meandering aspect of the original Wattpad story, or if the author was asked to pull back from the main characters in order to broaden the scope of the world. Still, I'm intrigued and will want to check out book 2. |
3.5 stars A quirky and steamy debut series of paranormal romantic comedy by Juliet Lyons. The story was set in AU London where humans got familiar with vampires, though the later still kept their own set of rules ...and secrets. It's a fast-paced tale with repertoire of wit and steamy encounter that brought together Silver Harris and two hundred year old vampire Logan Byrne. As first entry to V-Date.com series, this story barely delved on it, more serve as introduction to the matter. The underlying issue of Logan's debt to the ancient (vampire) and his old blood bound were more prominent here. Although the protagonists were both likeable here (some of their past stories were heartbreaking), somehow I felt they were also a helpless pair (despite Logan's healing ability). This rather diminished my fondness for them; as in - knowing the danger if the ancient found out what he did (or didn't do) - why not taking any precautions to lessen the impact OR acted more quickly. On this front - though I pegged them both as careless - at least Silver showed more gut and wit than Logan, given she was basically clueless of the vampire way. The conclusion to the book was both exasperating and interesting. [On one side, the way an ancient be vanquished so easily - literary - by incident was just eye-rolling; on the other hand this is the first time I read book where the vampiric aspect could be reversed! Like being cured from a disease! (hide spoiler)] We shall see if the same could be put to use in this series universe in the future. :) Advanced copy of this book is kindly provided by the author/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. |
This was a fun, light paranormal romance with a sassy and likeable heroine. Vampires and online dating definitely makes for an interesting ride! |

Juliet Lyons imagines a world where vampires not only exist and are known to the public, but also where they have their own dating site. This first book in the series takes place in London and is a unique take on the vampire pastiche. It is a good read and moves quickly. I will warn readers up front that the sex in this book is frequent and descriptive. Silver Harris works a jewelry shop and hangs out with her friends. She is no slouch in the looks department and does alright for herself with the men. She fights with her stepmother and hates her job. When she gets kicked out of a party and meets an outrageously handsome vampire, Silver is introduced to a whole new world of feelings. It is too bad that not only did she not get the vampire’s name, but she also had him drop her off at a fake address. Maybe the dating site is the best way to find him. Logan Byrne has been a vampire for a long time and has seen it all. He has vowed to never have more than a one night stand so why does this woman make him want more? He knows her name, but when he drops her off at home that is clearly not where she lives, Logan assumes that vampires are off limits for her. When his boss asks him to find a woman the police are recruiting to find information on vampires and wipe her memory, Logan agrees until he finds out who she is. Logan and Silver are very different people with different agendas. The one thing that they cannot deny is their overwhelming attraction to each other. They have to figure out if a human and vampire can make a relationship work amidst all of the secrets and danger. I did like this book. It made for a new treatment of the vampire legends. These vampires can go out in sunlight and do not have to drink blood to survive. The way the book ends was also unique (I won’t say any more than that). I’m not sure how Ms. Lyons is going to top this book as she continues the series. The review was submitted to eyeonromance.com, but has not been posted on their site yet. |
Dating the Undead is a paranormal romance with one of the best leading female characters I've read in a while! Silver is sassy, smart mouthed, and completely not afraid to be herself, which I loved. And of course, her vampire lover is sexy, smouldering, and all kinds of gorgeous! All in all, a great, fun read, with lots of background intrigue in the vampire world to keep things interesting and pacey beyond the romance. |
Refreshingly funny and sexy, with a good dash of danger. Full review/rating to come on the release date (05/02/17). *arc provided via netgalley from the publisher* |
Dating the Undead is a romance with plenty of zing! After a brief run in with vampire Logan Byrne on New Year’s Eve, Silver Harris decides that she is sick of dating ordinary guys and wants something different. After all she is the kind of girl to only have one date so she needs plenty of choices. When her step-sister brings up the idea of v-date, a dating service that caters to the undead and mortals, Silver is all in. I loved how the vampires were portrayed in this story. They were sexy as all get out but the vampires that Silver dated were pretty boring. I found it nice that the vampires were shown as something other than irresistible. It was a break from the norm and I liked it. Logan has an interesting background as a vampire who has never had his heart all tied up with a mortal. In fact, Logan has never had interest in getting to know anyone. For a long time, he was a virtual slave to his maker and that has left a bad taste in his mouth and in no mood for attachments. This makes him the perfect guy to infiltrate the v-dating service and find out what the members are reporting back to the authorities. Logan’s boss has complete faith that Logan will not lose his senses over a human, too bad he did not know the affect that Silver has on Logan. After his chance meeting with Silver, Logan just cannot seem to get her out of his mind. He understands he is supposed to make her forget what she knows about vampires but that would also mean that she would forget about him as well. Torn, but in the end, he decides his desire to know Silver outweighs the directive from his boss. Her pull on his senses perplexes and entices him. He’s not sure what he wants with her but at the very least he knew he wanted her. Swoony, swoony! This is not your typical vampire paranormal romance. Yes, there are plenty of sexy times between these characters. It is a very steamy read, for sure, but there is more to the story. There is a whole good versus evil vibe and it is not all good times. Someone is out to harm Logan and they have their sights set on destruction. This leads to great conflict in the story and some battles (yay). I loved the idea of the ancients creating the vampires and there is also a twist at the end that was quite surprising and I found that I enjoyed it. A really great read! *Thank you to NetGalley & Sourcebooks Casablanca for this eARC of Dating the Undead* |
Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Fun and engaging characters. Would read more by thhis author. |
I don't know what I was fully expecting out of this book, but honestly whatever I was expecting, the book was way better. I think I went into this thinking it was going to be more romantic comedy then anything else, mostly because that's kind of how much online dating books tend to go, a lot of weird first dates, finally finding the right guy (although almost always not through the website) and some laughs and a HEA as the cherry on top. This book totally had some funny moments, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't call the book a romantic comedy. I loved how the book started off, frankly Silver at a party throwing drinks at people is good way to both get a good laugh, and get good sense of her personality. Silver is sassy, sometimes combative, has a lot of guts, has great inner monologue, and she is just honestly fun to read and easy to like. As for the whole vampire element to this book, I have to say I like how it was handled. Vamps are out in the open, but it's almost like nonchalant like, sure there are vampires out in the world, but they don't require blood, and no one really fears them. That actually kind of worked for me, mostly because the vampires were more like people, they had the same traits they had when they were human, they just were stronger, maybe had an ability or two, and lived forever (so basically if you were a sociopath as a human you were an even worse sociopath as a vamp, but most of them seemed to be just normal). Our hero is the vampire Logan, who Silver meets right as the book starts, is kind of awesome. He really comes off as a good guy. He has some inherited abilities, he was a healer as a human, so that just expanded when he was made a vampire. Now that's not to say that this dude doesn't have some baggage, let's just say his "family" ain't the best. I enjoyed this book all the way through. It was interesting to get to know the vampire world. Silver had some seriously bad dates on the vampire service, which were fun to read. Silver and Logan argued like the best of them, but in a way that always seemed to result in their clothes coming off, so look out for some steamy in this book. I also liked Silver trying to figure out what happened to her mother who disappeared, and how that all tied into what was happening in present day. I without a doubt will be reading more by the author in the future, and I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. |
I tried to read this book about half a dozen times. It started out great but then it kept hitting bumps along the way. The first was how supposedly enamored the male lead was with the female lead, yet, he made no attempt to look for her. Then there was the whole online dating plot point that was just pushed to the side for a bit. I never got a sense of anyone’s motivations and I definitely never understood why the two characters were drawn to one another. Also, the female lead seemed like an unstable person so it was hard to cheer for her. |
After catching her boyfriend with another girl, Silver has had it with men. Then she meets sexy vampire Logan who sweeps her off her feet literally. Logan's Irish brogue and sparkling green eyes are mesmerizing and the chemistry between them is combustible. But danger from Logan's past catches up with them and changes everything. Great romance! |

Three and a half Ok I spotted this and had all manner of expectations. Some were fulfilled and others not. I really liked the idea of a modern , independent woman living in London and certainly Silver is an intersting up for anything character. The idea of a dating site introducing vampires to humans in this post revelation era also ticked my boxes as I loved the idea that someone normally considered irresistible would need help looking for partners. Yes the author certainly knows how to engage her readers interest. Now add in green eyed Irish vampire Logan, with a murky history and the stage is set for a romance that's steamy, funny and unfortunately about to get very tangled up indeed ! Without giving too much away Silver is helping the authorities discover as much as they can about the now out of their closet vampires and this really didn't work for me . Unfortunately I couldn't quite understand why Silver got the gig as I would normally expect the police to use their own undercover operatives. That oddity aside it was fun seeing Silver and Logan tangle with each other and I have to admit their romance was written in a refreshing and contemporary manner which really suited the two characters. Silver isn't someone who is backwards in coming forwards and pairing her with dirty minded Logan worked . Less you think it's just sexy shenanigans I have to point out that the author found a way to show that Logan came from a different era and his idea to woo Silver was very sweet. So I've covered the basic romance but it's more than that as we are given a whole new idea about vampires and their society. Unfortunately this didn't feel as realistic as I wanted and I really felt the plot should have matched the time this couple spent exploring each other. We do meet characters who I'm sure the author will revisit but I just wanted more action . That being said it's the first book in the series so it's hard to fully flesh out a different way for vampires to exist without giving a long history so I hope the next book will add to the world building and hopeful have a really engaging story. This voluntary review is of a copy I sought from Netgalley and is my honest opinion |

What a start to a new series, it had a great premise and storyline, well rounded characters and was just enjoyable to read from start to finish. Silver is a sassy women and Logan is a centuries old vampire which leads to some great moments between the two. With some interesting plot twist and steamy encounters this book makes for one entertaining read. I will certainly be telling everyone about this book and be looking forward to the next one |
