forever mine is book 2 in the opposites attract series from erin nicholas, and our opposites trying to resist their crazy attraction are ex-cop and risk-taker, maya goodwin, and a risk-averse, world-renowned pediatrician, dr. alex nolan.

alex first comes across maya at a demonstration for her self-defense classes. from the moment he sees her, he can't keep his eyes off her. and she notices him too. his presence is enough of a distraction that she loses focus, which is not a good thing to happen in a staged battle. and every time she runs into him it's as if their bodies have some sort of magnetic attraction, because she can't keep her eyes off him. honestly, she can barely keep her hands off him. and since maya is the jump first, ask questions later kind of girl, she's ready to go all-in.

but alex isn't like that. and he has reasons to stay away from maya, even if they are hard to remember in the moment. he only recently learned that he has a nine-year-old daughter, and getting to know her and reconnecting with her mom has been his priority. introducing someone new to his daughter isn't what he is looking for. nevermind that getting to know maya makes getting to know his daughter easier. because the problem is that when he's with maya he forgets all the reasons he shouldn't take risks and it's been a long time since anyone made him want to let go like that.

alex and maya just click. he likes her friends. being a part of her life is easy. but alex needs to figure out a way to let maya into his life. and this is not so easy for him. he's so used to holding himself back, keeping his truth hidden from others. even though he knows he doesn't need to do this with maya, a lifetime of habit is hard to break. until it nearly breaks them. letting go, letting someone in is absolutely terrifying, but oh so worth the risk.

LOVED this story!! Alex is deliciously yummy, I think we all need one like him. Good father, doctor, sexy, protective. Yep, delicious. Finding out he's a father to a nine year old daughter could have thrown him over the edge but he took it in stride, embraced it, and now he'll do whatever he can to give her a good life. It troubles him that she's afflicted with the same bleeding disorder that he has had to deal with his whole life and he wants to be sure she gets the chance to experience life more than he did.

Maya is daring and not afraid of anything. She lives life full out and makes no apologies. When Alex shows up at her martial arts studio looking to learn a little about the things his daughter enjoys she is immediately attracted to him. She doesn't let the fact that he has baggage deter her. But can the daring ex-cop and the play it safe doc really have it all??

This book is wonderfully written and I just adored the characters. I learned quite a bit reading this one as well. Definitely a book I recommend to everyone.

A pen is a mighty tool. It can be used to cut down or inspire. Erin Nicholas knows the power it wields so she does not take for granted it's impact. Forever Mine is evidence of that. Within these pages, she entertains, inspires and informs. Forever Mine is not only a romance between a man and a woman, but the building of a bridge between a father and a daughter. The most powerful message to take away from Charli, Maya, Alex and Rachel is that imperfections do not make the person but the ability to push beyond the barriers set for ourselves as we follow our hearts and give of ourselves is the most precious gift we have. I was not expecting to fall in love, but I went and did it anyway.

This was my first time reading from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed Forever Mine. It was very sweet with just enough funny and sexy to keep me entertained. I loved the play on the superhero theme since it is not something you see often in female characters. Maya was a strong heroine with a great heart and I really liked her. Alex was a genuinely good guy who is going through a lot of changes in life. I loved his interactions with his daughter and thought their relationship was lovely. Overall a good book and I will definitely check out more from this author in the future.

She was tough. She was strong. But she was not unbreakable.

Real talk: I would give this book five stars for Maya alone. She was the BEST kind of heroine. Tough, strong and yet, still vulnerable. She pushed, she was passionate and she had a never-quit attitude that just appealed to me.

And she had Active Imaginations.

As the parent of a seven year old girl, I so want it to be real, because it sounds fantastic—and it made me absolutely adore Maya. She might be fictional, but she's the kind of woman I would love to see my daughter grow into.

Having said that, Maya isn't the only five star worthy person in this book. Alex, too, was completely and utterly likable and lovable. A sexy single father with swoony words and actions, yes, but also a man trying to learn how to parent, how to be in a relationship, trying to hold everything together. Was he perfect? Nope. Does that matter? Not even a little.

He was flawed but he tried, and that made him feel very real. Much like the friendships that Erin Nicholas portrays to perfection here. I loved seeing Keira and Zach, Sophie, Ben and Rob interact with each other, with Maya, with Alex. It's fun and engaging and rewarding to see adults be adults; no pettiness, no mean girliness—just good times and good friends.

I'm really excited to see what comes next in this series. Ms. Nicholas is two-for-naught for me so far with Opposites Attract and I can't help but hope that with Sophie’s book she makes it a hat-trick.

“I think I could lose every nerve ending in my whole body and still feel you touching me.”

~ FIVE Supergirl STARS ~

This was an amazing book! I spent entire time sighing, awww-ing, and laughing. There might have been a discreet tear dropping down my face at the end too. Alex and Maya were so wonderful together and separately, I wish they were my real friends so I could have seen them fall in love in real life. Rachel was great, Charli was a sweetie, and Maya's friends? I need their stories NOW. They better have stories, Ms. Nicholas. Your dedicated fans (like me) will demand them.

This is my first book by the author and while it is book 2 in a series it stands alone and I have not read book 1. This story is about Maya. Maya is a great heroine. I did not see her as a geek at all. She is a former cop, teaches superhero gym classes to kids and is just such a caring and cool character. I beyond loved her. She cares and she loves with her whole heart.

She meets Alex when he helps her help a kid being attacked at the mall while she is demostrating her classes to interested parents. Alex is a Dr with Hemophilia and he has a newly discover daughter Charli who is into superheroes. So he wants to pick Maya's brain so he can communicate better with Charli.

I really liked Charli, and even her mother Rachel. But I did not like what the mother did with Alex and Rachel. At times I felt Alex was cheating on Maya and other times cheating on Rachel. At least 50% of the book Alex never commits to either but he seemed sorta wishy washy between the two and he definitely leads Rachel on alot while having feelings with Maya.

Then he does get commited to Maya, he takes a very long time to let Rachel know. This would have been a fantastic story without all the feeling he had for Rachel but at times I did not like him at because of the way he treats Maya. Then he does something so mean to her and I felt she forgave him way too easy.

That said this was a fantastic story. It was highly original. It was also a very interesting subject learning about Hemophilia. I loved knowing that it can easily be lived with by taking some precautions and I loved the message of the book about what and who are superheroes.

This is the second book in the Opposites Attract series. And when it comes to Maya and Alex, I don't think you could find two people that were any less alike. Maya is a risk taker. She usually has a good reason for taking the risk but she thinks of others before she thinks of her own safety. Her career as a cop ended when she was trying to rescue a dog. Alex always plays it safe. But then he has good reason for not taking risks. Now more so then ever, Alex needs to show his newly discovered daughter that unnecessary risks needs to be avoided at all costs. But apparently being polar opposites doesn't stop the attraction.
This was a great contemporary romance. I have to say I also found it very informative as I've never read about a hero with hemophilia. Author Erin Nichols explained in the forward how she had researched the topic for both Alex and his daughter's condition. Wouldn't have expected to find this topic covered in a romance novel but I liked that it was a different twist because it is a condition that affects many people.

This series just gets better and better as each of the “Opposites Attract”, fall in love – irrevocable, irreversible and irresistible!

If I thought “Completely Yours” was one of Erin’s finest writings, “Forever Mine” surpasses beyond that and more. Maya Goodwin is by far Erin’s crowning glory – strong and courageous, witty and tenacious, aggressive and stubborn, never for a second would she hesitates to step in front of danger to save a person. And Dr. Alex Nolan never saw her coming with her swords and boa!

Cautious and a planner, Alex Nolan doesn’t know what to do with Maya and the instant attraction that sizzles at first sight. His entire life goes on the wind, as he tries to bond with a daughter he never knew he had, battling a rare medical issue, and his constant want for Maya. Keeping the two parallel is a losing battle.

Between the martial classes and sword swinging, between the pages of galactic history and boa classes, and between the passion and lust that sizzle the bed sheets, “Forever Mine” is pure orgasmic read!

Kudos to Erin’s creativity and imagination as she weaves these stories in and around superheroes, paying special attention to the chemistry and emotions among the players, keeping the characters down to earth and normal, with enough layers to charm the readers.

Again, some books are beyond reviews and need to be read to enjoy every scene, every emotion and every word and Erin Nicholas’s books are just that.

You can be anything, but first you have to imagine it! This is a great line and one of many in the new release by Erin Nicholas, Forever mine, part of the opposite attracts series. This is the story of Maya and Alex. We first met Maya in Completely yours. She is a kick ass real life super woman, helping children though martial arts; Alex is no less wonderful, and is a doctor, trying to help the daughter, he just found out about, cope with a condition that I did not know much about. How great is it when a book not only entertains, the dialogue, story and characters do that so effortlessly but also educates, (Maya researches this conditions as I did as I read this book). It is so empowering to finish reading such a great story, have that happy feeling that another couple got their HEA and also be a little more educated in the process.

I had really enjoyed the previous book of the series, so I was pretty excited to read this one.

I loved love loved Maya and Alex. She's sassy and pushy and seriously kick ass. He's smart and maybe a little cocky and together they're absolutely adorable. Oh, and the chemistry is off the charts.

There are loads of cute, geeky scenes and talks about superheroes and cosplay. It was sweet to see Alex bend over backwards to learn things for Charli. I think the best part was backstory (view spoiler) It wasn't something I've read before and it was fairly refreshing.

Overall, a fun and quick read that was mostly all fluff. I can't wait to see who gets the next story.

**Huge thanks to Forever and NetGalley for providing the arc free of charge**

This is one of those books about which I'm floundering, and my feelings tomorrow may be different. Having finished this last night, though, I'm still in a bit of a funk. Let me first say that I LOVED Maya. She is so strong and quirky and geeky cute and just everything I love about a heroine. The fact that I loved her character so much is why I'm floundering. I wanted her to have the I'll-do-anything-to-make-you-mine kind of love and devotion, and I didn't really get that from Alex (yeah, I understand why, but still...). I wanted him to make a grand statement, and I came away with the feeling that if Maya hadn't gone to the hospital, Alex never would have gone after her. So boo to Alex for that. But high-five to Maya for having such strong self-esteem that she didn't need the grand gesture. And kudos to Ms. Nicholas for such strong character development that she could make me feel these emotions!

Ehhh. While I liked the characters as individuals, I just didn't care about them as a couple. I really wanted to. It I found myself skimming along to the happy ending.

LOVED Maya & Alex in this story, Forever Mine, book 2 in Erin Nicholas' Opposites Attract series....
Adding to the dynamic was Alex's daughter, Charli. This story dealt with some real life tough situations (characters living with hemophilia), and Erin does very well with these sometimes heavy subjects. Maya was dear to me, as she is an ex cop, hurt in the line of duty, but that doesn't let her disabilities keep her down, and she continues to help and serve others. Alex is lovable guy, who is a Dr. in the genetics field. I loved how from the beginning Maya got so easily distracted by Alex, and vice versa , and the chemistry kept building. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series...

**Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**

"Forever Mine" is written by Erin Nicholas, and it is the 2nd book in her Opposites Attract series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Alex Nolan and Maya Goodwin.

I've read several of Erin Nicholas' books, and "Forever Mine" is definitely the most heartwarming and most endearing story of hers I've read. You have your romance with Alex and Maya, but what stands out to me is the sense of family. Alex recently discovered he has a daughter named Charli. He wants to make up for lost time. He is the consummate father to Charli - loving, caring, and supportive. His daughter's happiness is his priority, and this is what brings Maya into his life.

Charli loves superheroes and Galactic Renegades (aka GR). One day, Alex sees Maya demonstrating to kids martial arts and various ways to use weapons. Alex is enamored by Maya from the get-go, and he soon enlists her to help him learn more about GR.

What I really enjoyed about Alex and Maya was that both of them had limitations, but that didn't stop them from taking risks and persevering through adversity. They loved each other and pushed one another to do better. They were a team.

"Forever Mine" is just one of those stories that will stick with you. It's truly beautifully written and poignant. All romance fans need to read it!

This is absolute must read. I could not put it down. I love reading stories with a strong heroine who knows what she wants and goes for it. Very steamy and with some angst. Can't wait for more in the series.
