As with the other Buzz Books collections, this book features excerpts of books that are releasing soon, in this case, books that released in January 2017.
The monthly collections do not feature new works, and instead feature books that were already featured in earlier editions of Buzz Books. I did not realize this before requesting the first three monthly editions, so I had already read part of the January edition.
That being said, I did find some additional books to add to my list. And the duplicate entries were ones I am interested in, so I didn’t mind reading their excerpts again. I still think the Buzz Books collections are a great way to check out upcoming releases.
Have always loved these previews. I especially appreciate the monthly ones. Less overwhelming.
In contrast to the half-yearly buzz books, I won't be reviewing the Monthly buzz books on my blog. It is a nice reminder of the books that are being published in January, and I will be using the list.
The excerpts were nice, but I was a bit disappointed to see most of them had already featured in the Buzz Books before.
The twice-yearly Buzz Books has now extended to twelve issues a year by publishing a monthly edition. While this is less exhaustive than the half-yearly edition, it is easier to assimilate as there is a more accessible number of books. I loved the previous version of Buzz Books but I tended to get about half way through and then get distracted. Now I can complete each one in a reasonable period of time.
There were some great books in this January edition. The ones that caught my attention were Selection Day by Aravind Adiga, The Fifth Petal by Bruonia Barry and a new book by Chris Bohjalian, Conviction.
In the non-fiction section I was immediately drawn to How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen by Joanne Faber and Julie King. As a new grandmother, this sounds like a must-read!
Thanks to Buzz Books for keeping us in the publishing loop.
Very helpful regarding tbr additions! I was able to find a good many books that seemed interesting, and look forward to reading them as they hit the shelves!
This is a helpful guide to upcoming books. It's a great tool for discovering titles to look forward to in the future.
Wow! I'm surprised I didn't already have some of these on my radar. Great titles!
So excited for some of these. Lots of great YA titles coming in 2017. I'm especially excited for FROSTBLOOD and CARAVAL.
I love the Buzz Books samplers, they're such a fun way to discover new books that maybe I wouldn't have heard of otherwise. This month I'm particularly looking forward to "Caraval."
As always some great excerpts of upcoming releases. My picks are as follows:
The Fire by Night by Teresa Messineo (release date January 17, 2017)
Frost Blood by Elly Blake (release date January 17, 2017)
Carnaval by Stephanie Garber (release date January 10, 2017)
Really interesting books were spotlighted. Added some to my To-Buy list and can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Caraval!
Thanks for the monthly books. It makes it so much easier to keep track.
This is a great review of upcoming books. I love receiving the Book Buzz because it allows me to have a reserve of books for reader's advisories.
Buzz Books samplers simplify my book blogging life a great deal. Thanks for making them available.
For some reason I completely forgot to read through this sampler until I downloaded the February one. January is going to be a great book month with so many great titles to be on the look out for. I honestly love how they switched this from 4x a year to monthly. This is a great idea and look forward to becoming aware of each month's book selections
Helpful as always to let readers know what's soon to be released.
