Oh my what a delightful read this was! I enjoyed this story on so many levels, it is hard to figure out where to begin!

The characters were strong, each set in their respective ways and completely unsuitable for one another. In fact, the banter between the two of them was easily my favorite part. I enjoyed watching them bicker just as much as I enjoyed watching them found in a compromosing way and the marriage that resulted. I also enjoyed the way that these characters grew as the story unfolded. Instead of just finding a way to "make the best of things', they found a way to grow together, with Tobias starting to care less and less about the opinion of the ton, and Olivia curbing some of her more outlandish behaviors, while still mainting the fire that made her such a likable character to begin with.

The author has an easy flowing writing style that makes the story easy to follow while also providing just enough details to allow the reader to picture the story as they read. And although this is billed as the second story in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone.

Overall, I am sure this story will appeal to those who enjoy a good historical romance novel. I would read more from this author.

Wicked In His Arms by Stacy Reid was a non-stop entertaining story that I wanted to just continue reading - a story that I did not want to tear my eyes away from. A book full of magnificent, heartfelt, endearing characters, who held this reader captive to the words on the pages, with a scoundrel or two thrown in the read. Olivia and Tobias were dazzling and attention grabbing from the story's introduction, and the hilarious tug-of-war-dialogue between the two characters throughout the story had me laughing-out-loud on more than a few occasions. Strong descriptives, and spell binding moments that seized my focus. A read not to be missed. Wicked In His Arms is the second book in author Stacy Reid's Wedded By Scandal series.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Scandal abounds in this new novel by Stacy Reid. Haunted by the scandal of her father’s death, Lady Olivia Sherwood is not eager to reenter society after her disastrous come out. Her step-father’s ill health forces her to make changes to herself she never wanted to. She needs a husband or her very life may lie in peril.

The Earl of Blade, Tobias Walcott, doesn’t want for a wife, but he is enraptured by every move Lady Olivia makes. Since his mother has taken Livvie under her wing at the behest of Livvie’s step-father, she has run riot over Tobias’ life and emotions. Once caught after having an encounter in a linen closet, Tobias and Livvie are forced to marry.

One element I found very interesting in this story was the intertwining of both Livvie and Tobias’ past scandals with their current one. Because of the past, they are completely wrong for each other, but the hint of current scandal is the one that brings them together. I loved the wicked banter between the two as they both tried to control the emotions that burned within them. The added pressure of Livvie’s friendship with Tobias’ younger sister brought forth another juicy scandal and caused passions to erupt, cracking the thick shell around Tobias’ heart.

I adored both Livvie and Tobias. Livvie stayed true to herself even after trying to be a perfect miss. She continued to attempt to solve her own problems and against his core beliefs, Tobias was able to help her when she did need it. A glowing five star read and I can’t wait to read more from Stacy Reid!

3.5 stars.

Livvie and Tobias are very interesting characters and honestly, I didn't like either one of them until almost halfway through the book. Livvie is first portrayed as willful, immature and reckless. Later in the book, she is more mature and while still a bit reckless, she doesn't come across to the reader as a spoiled child. Tobias is a total jerk at the beginning of the book, I understand that the author was trying to prove to the reader that he is cold, seemingly emotionless and a stickler for proper behavior, but the things he says and does at the beginning of the book are a total contradiction of that persona, he acts without honor or decorum on several occasions.

I was more than a little dismayed and wondered how I was going to be able to finish reading this book. Thankfully, the tone of the book changes and the characters change as well. Tobias is still cold and controlled, but he now behaves as I would expect a gentleman to behave. In fact, once they marry, I really began to like both of them and wanted them to have a happy ending! But a happy ending will take a lot of work for these two.

I liked the author's writing style and she definitely knows how to write a love scene, the pace of the story was well done and flows well. The secondary characters are entertaining and don't over shadow the leads. There were a couple instances in the book that were a little hard to believe, but nothing that ruined the story.

The reason I am only giving this book a 3.5 star rating is because of the character portrayal at the beginning of the book and the incorrect use of formal address. I can forgive many things in books, but there are a couple of things that I just cannot overlook, the primary being incorrect use of formal address in historical romance. You want to take some creative license with history for the sake of your story? Fine by me. Your grammar isn't perfect? I'm cool with that. You have typos? Who doesn't? But, if you are going to write Historical Romance, I expect you to take the time to learn formal address - you can't just give your character a title because it sounds better. And unfortunately, that is exactly what happened in this book - Olivia is the daughter of a Baron, she has no title, she is merely Miss. Sherwood. Her father would have to be an Earl, Marquess or Duke for her to hold that honorific.

When all is said and done, I liked the book and would be happy to read more from this author.
