Wonderful titles! I'm highly looking forward to reading most of the ones featured in here. There's a great variety of genres, so you might want to read this to find incredible new reads!

The ones that caught my attention the most were Future Threat by Elizabeth Briggs, Rebels Like Us by Liz Reinhardt, Flame In The Mist by Renee Ahdieh, and This Is Really Happening by Erin Chack.

My first time reading through a Buzz Book for YA and I will certainly do it again. YA is one of my favorite genres, and getting to read excerpts of what is coming out is awesome. My TBR just grew by seven YA books.

Thank you to Netgalley and Publishers Lunch for a free preview ARC of Bozz Books 2017: Yougn Adult Spring/Summer.

The books features here are gorgeous and theme spanning, from many both up and coming authors and authors who are here showcasing their new works. I'm most excited from the newest piece by Renee Ahsieh (Flame in the Mist), which hints at all the glorious feeling of her earlier writing.

I can't wait to try out the full texts of Geekerella (by Ashley Poston), This is Really Happening (by Erin Chack), Black Witch (Lauire Ann Forest) )and Definitions of Indefinable Things (by Books for Younger Readers). I hope to get a couple of these in my coming Netgalley ARC's! <3

Buzz Books is a great opportunity to get sneak peaks into some of the upcoming releases. I think it's a very balanced selection of different genres. And it's a great overview to see what's going to be published!

Through reading this book, I've found some books that I'm definitely going to read, even if I don't get approved by the publisher on netgalley.

I especially liked The One Memory of Flora Banks, Dream Me, Roar and The End of Our Story. I might also read Definitions of Indefinable Things, Gem & Dixie, Geekerella, Aftercare Instructions and Dividing Eden. Many of the excerpts made me want to continue reading immediately.

Recommended to anyone who's looking for new books to read.

Oh my goodness! I have just discovered through a fellow reader the delight of these "buzz" books. I am so excited about the upcoming selection of YA books. Although not all of the books caught my interest, there are a few that I just cannot wait to read.

There are some fantastic reads coming up this year and my list to read is getting long.

I particularly like "This is Really Happening"by Erin Chack, I like a bit of humour especially when looking at real life.

Funny seems to be the theme with me because I also liked the synopsis on 'Laugh Out Loud' by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. I think it is good for teens to have fun with their reading so this will be a good choice for the teen collections in the library service I work for.

On a more serious note Gem & Dixie by Sara Zarr sounds like it is going to be a heartwrenching book but a really good read. I suspect I will need to have tissues at hand if I am going to read this one.

Overall there are some fantastic reads coming up for young adults.

As always, I love these samplers. I can understand why some people hate them -- you just get a feeling for the book and the characters and the sample is done and you need to wait for the release or buy the book. But I love being able to jump into a world and see if I'm going to like it before having to spend money on the book in question.

There's a wide variety of books in this batch and I pretty much liked all of them and would recommend them all to someone I know. There's something here for everyone. 5 out of 5 stars.

Buzz Books are one of my favorite ways to discover new authors, so I'm incredibly happy that this edition knocks it out of the ballpark with so many awesome reads! Here are some of the samples that really got my attention:

The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr reminded me a little of the movie 50 First Dates. Unlike the movie though, Flora's memory erases itself several times a day. Thankfully this didn't happen until she was ten years old so at least she has those long-term memories to help her get through the day. Then everything changes. She remembers something. A kiss. From her best friend's boyfriend. Uh-oh. Can't wait to read more and see what happens to Flora when she sets off to reconnect with the boy who gave her a new memory!

The next story to catch my eye was Roar by Cora Carmack, the first in a new series. We're introduced to Stormlings, powerful families that can control dangerous, magical storms. Aurora is slated to be the next queen, but has yet to show any trace of the magic needed to control violent storms. Faced with an arranged marriage to a Stormling prince, Aurora searches for an alternative to saving her kingdom while still keeping her secret. Is it possible to steal storm magic? Looking forward to finding out!

This Is Really Happening by Erin Chack isn't my usual type of read, but proved too intriguing to pass up! A collection of non-fiction essays, the sample included the author having her head shaved during chemotherapy. At nineteen. Touching, but also amusing. Made me want to get to know her better.

Laurie Forest's The Black Witch was the next sample to grab my attention. Elloren is the granddaughter of a powerful mage, Like the main character in Roar, Elloren has no power in a world that prizes magical ability. Following a bird one night, she runs into her neighbor's oldest daughter Sage, who disappeared over a year ago. Sage gives Elloren a powerful wand. Suddenly, everything Elloren believed in is called into question and she must make a choice. The sample really piqued my interest and left me wanting more!

Geekerella by Ashley Poston is the final sample that caught my eye. Main character Elle comes complete with the requisite wicked stepmother and stepsisters. A total geek, she is appalled when a teen heartthrob is chosen to play her favorite character in a remake of her favorite sci-fi series. Think of the outrage if the Star Trek reboot cast Justin Bieber as Captain Kirk! Whoa! Really looking forward to this one!

I highly recommend the Buzz Book samplers in order to discover great new reads!

My TBR just got bigger thanks to Buzz Books. I cannot wait to read some of these books. I'm already looking forward for the Fall/Winter edition of Buzz Books.

Having access to these excerpts is great as it gives you the chance to find out which author's writing really speaks to you so that you can be a bit more educated on the Netgalley requests you make.

5 Stars - The Flame in the Mist: Having read one of Renee Ahdieh's books before (The Wrath & the Dawn), I was pleased her writing style & quality continued in this novel. I tend to get nervous with authors when I've read one book and loved it. I get worried that I won't like their future works as much. The Flame in the Mist sample introduces some intrigue & questions I look forward to having answered.

2 Stars - The One Memory of Flora Banks: the premise didn't sound very good to me and the sample we got wasn't really enough to convince me to pick it up. The writing is fine, it's the story that feels lacking. There are so many holes I feel that are going to rip open due to Flora's short term memory loss & traveling across the world. I don't think I want to continue this book, at least not as a purchase I make.

1 Star - Dream Me: I am so glad that I don't have to read the rest of this book. Zat's chapter wasn't thrilling, but the sudden shift from third to first person in Babe's chapter was jarring and she wasn't an interesting character. She felt silly, dim, and boring. The writing didn't even save it.

3 Stars - Future Threat: even though I didn't read the 1st book in this trilogy, there was a decent recap so I knew enough to get by for this sample (I didn't know beforehand this was a sequel). It's not bad, kind of interesting plot. The writing was good, not spectacular. It didn't make me want to start from the 1st book, so did it succeed? If the 1st book feels superfluous, I'd say something's wrong.

2 Stars - Piper Perish: meh. Piper seemed like a very whiny character, much younger than she's supposed to be. I'm curious about why her sister Marli is such a bitch, but honestly, not enough to read the whole book. The diary format felt forced and I didn't understand why we needed each entry to be timestamped.

3 Stars - Roar: interesting premise. I want to hear more about these storm gems that they steal from the heart of a storm. I didn't like the abrupt change of point of view; it happened in the middle of a paragraph. Hopefully that's fixed before but publication.

3 Stars - This Is Really Happening: the excerpt we were giving was tough because, as Erin says, it's about one of the worst/weirdest experiences of her life. I'm not sure if I'd say her voice is the "freshest" I've ever read, but I would like to hear more about her experience with cancer, facing the future, and more.

4 Stars - Dividing Eden: another interesting concept. There's a lot of action that still needs to happen and I want to know what happens!

1 Star - Spirit Quest: the writing style bored me to tears. It felt too simplistic and dull to pull together the story.

2 Stars - The Black Witch: maybe it's because the excerpt didn't start from page one, but Elloren sounds like an
idiot. There wasn't a set up for the scenario we were in, so I'm not sure if this is a one off moment for her or her normal personality."

4 Stars - How to Be a Supervillain: in the style of How to Be a Wimpy Kid, this book looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Victor's a good kid, which in this case is bad. His parents are super(ish) villains, but he's a goody-goody. The excerpt leaves off as he's apprenticed to another semi-villlain and I need to see where that goes.

3 Stars - The End of Our Story: there's nothing too distinct about this story yet, but the synopsis has some promise and I liked the author's previous novel, Paperweight, so the writing is solid enough to make me want to read more.

1 Star - Laugh Out Loud: I miss the good old days of James Patterson novels, when they had real quality. Any book he writes with a co-author suffers from a distinct lack of cohesion. This was, sadly, no acception. It sounded like an autobiography of a pretentious child.

5 Stars - Aftercare Instructions: this is the single most powerful & interesting sample I've read so far. It's about a tough subject, but the author doesn't let that hold her writing back. She's writing full strength and I anticipate this being a heartfelt, intense work that will resonate with readers.

2 Stars - Geekerella: Elle's kind of a bitch, which I was surprised by for the main character right out of the gate. She's the kind of person who hates on a person/fan of "her" fandom because she doesn't seem them worthy because a) they're too famous for being a pretty boy actor or b) can't answer one trivia question about the fandom. You don't have to know everything about a fandom to be a fan, just saying.

2 Stars - Rebels Like Us: the plot sounds like it's got potential, particularly the race split proms, but the writing style seems really rough so it's not going to be high on my list to read in the future.

3 Stars - Definitions of Indefinable Things: there wasn't quite enough in this sample to get a feel for how the story is, the voice of it or the pacing. There are some hints of a sarcastic sense of humor that I appreciate, which is a good start.

2 Stars - Gem & Dixie: the writing was decent if a bit flat. Gem and her sister Dixie need more time to flesh out. I couldn't get a clear picture of who they were, other than the front that's presented to the world.
