This was such a sweet romance about second chances and starting over.

Very sweet small town second-chance romance.  Emerson and Hunter were perfect - the build up and connection between them was fantastic.  This is the first book I have read by this author and I can't wait to read more!

I love the way Kimberly Kincaid writes a book!! She knows about MS and being in the medical field, I know this.  It's hard for me to read a book about psychological issues, medical issues and an author doesn't know jack but when an author does her homework or has studied up - you can really tell because it lends meat to the story.  Hunter and Emerson are fully dimensional people.  They're not one-dimensional and I love that.  Real life and real problems make for a good book sometimes.   At no point did I feel like this was too heavy or that the issues were too much for the book. It could have toppled in the other direction at any time and for Kimberly to do the book justice is a hard thing.  The last book I wrote a review on, the author didn't tackle the subject of illness so well and it tackled right over into unbelievable.  I would definitely get this for my mother to read and I'd definitely want to read the second book.  I didn't put it down to finish another book and I didn't walk away to gather strength to endure the rest of it.  That's a good book!  I won't give spoilers because I know people read reviews but the brothers...somethings up there!!  Can't wait to see all the upcoming things that she has in store for them all.

I enjoy a small town romance and so this one was catnip for me. Hunter and Emerson were such a great couple and I appreciated how Kincaid brought them back together. There were parts of this story- the heroine's story that were very unique and it was a nice change of pace to read about a main character with real life issues that weren't going to magically go away. 

Excellent first book in this series and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Kimberly Kincaid is one of my favorite authors and she has done it again!

Amazing new series from the fabulous Kimberly Kincaid. I have yet to read a book by this author that I didn't just love. There is something about the writing, that is just a perfect mix of humor, heart and sexy times. This is a great story of high school sweethearts crossing paths again...Hunter, who never left their small town, instead, choosing to follow his passion of running the family farm with his Dad and brothers, and Emerson, who is returning to town from Las Vegas and a fancy job as a physical therapist for a professional football team. The reasons for Emerson's return are sad, but I love how the author handled it and its always nice to see a little more exposure to the realities of life...even in a romance. The sparks between these two made the pages sizzle, but it was the tender moments that truly won me over. What a great introduction to this town and to Hunters super sexy brothers. I can't wait for Eli's story (which is next!!) and then for Owen's story - the serious one always has the best story!!! I highly recommend reading this book...but be warned, you will become addicted to this author!

The story of Hunter & Emerson is complex and holds its fair share of secrets.  I love a good "small town" story and this one delivered BIG time (pun intended) in that regard.  Normally the second chance novels rank low for me, but this author did a fantastic job making every detail so real I found myself enjoying it.  This is a fantastic start to the Cross Creek series, and I'm already counting down the days to Eli's story.  Would recommend this author/series and and hopeful that the series will only get even better with each release!

OMG Kimberly Kincaid has started a new series people!! It is beyond AMAZING. Hunter and Emerson have a bit of a history, when they were 18 they were in love but circumstances had one leaving Millhaven and the other staying. Emerson is one of the top physical therapists for the Super Bowl Champion Las Vegas Lightning, but soon finds herself back home after being gone for over a decade. Emerson finds it bittersweet to be back home but is excited to be getting her own practice up and running, when low and behold her first patient is Hunter Cross, the same Hunter Cross that Emerson left behind in Millhaven all those years ago!!
Hunter damaged his rotator cuff working in the barn with his older brother and is out of action on the family farm until he goes through some PT, but he wasn't expecting to come face to face with the firey red headed physical therapist a.k.a the one that got away. Emerson Montgomery
As these two start working together Emerson's plan to keep things strictly professional starts to waiver a bit, as they start getting to know each other again and friendships start building back up Emerson finds that's its not all that hard being back home if you leave out the strained relationship with her parents that is.

It definitely makes for an awesome read and I gotta say Kimberly Kincaid knows just how much of sweet sexy hot shot alpha males you need to make for one hell of a story, there's plenty of Chemistry between Hunter and Emerson, the love and friendships between all the characters was just amazing and there were even some healing hearts that added to make an all round massive HIT for the start of this series and I honestly can't wait for more from this awesome author!!!

Who knew my next book boyfriend would be a sweet and sexy farmer?! Hunter and Emerson haven't seen each other since she turned down his proposal and left town when they were 18 years old. Now 12 years later, she's the physical therapist he's sent to for a shoulder injury.
A lesser man might have made this unexpected reunion more difficult than it needed to be. But almost right from the start, he was respectful, if not wary, of Emerson and their history. Emerson had the same attitude, although she's got a secret or two surrounding both that hasty exit from town and return to it.
That's one of the things I loved most about this book. Too many second chance stories begin with bitterness and recriminations between the hero and heroine, and that turns me off. A person can apologize all they want, but when mean words are said, it's hard to forget them. Yes, Hunter is hot but I was more turned on by his thoughtfulness, his love of the family farm and his family themselves. I'm not ignoring Emerson, who I also liked very much for her strength and resolve, although these same traits morphed into a stubbornness that annoyed me greatly later in the book!!
Kimberly Kincaid is a must read author for me because of all these things...complex, likeable characters facing real-life problems with heart, a sense of humor and decency towards each other...and of course, the hotness you can feel jump off the page! Another solid 4.5 star book for me!

Crossing Hearts is a spunky, sexy a true second chance romance that will capture your heart.

Hunter Cross once a football star now a farmer on his family’s farm. This hero is sexy, caring and compassionate is it any wonder that he is on my top 10 book boyfriends list. Hunter suffers an injury on the farm that lands him in the face of his past. Hunter knows something is up with Emerson, can Hunter figure out her secret?

Emerson Montgomery left town for a good reason, but to the boy she left behind he did not quite see it that way. Now upon returning to the only place that held Emerson’s heart, her past hits her smack dab in the face. Thank you Ms. Kincaid for the knowledge you brought to Emerson health issue with MS. Emerson has a few hurtles to clear one being to clear the air with Hunter.

Hunter and Emerson have chemistry along with a history of being first loves. They endured a broken heart kind of love now after years apart they are brought back together. Their passions for each other is evident from the beginning to the present. I enjoyed watching them grow independently and well as a couple. I enjoyed how Hunter’s family were so accepting to Emerson after all the years that had pasted. Their welcoming her back into their lives with open arms. Priceless and touching. {tissue moment}

Ms. Kincaid captures the plot of small town living brilliantly, add in the town folk who are all just as interesting on their own and you have a wonderful start to what I think is going to be an amazing series. I can’t wait to see who Cross brother falls next. Crossing Hearts is a refreshing, heartfelt story that left me feeling anything but heartless. The main and supporting characters are a good mixture of intriguing and entertaining folks. Crossing Hearts has just enough drama to keep you on your toes and the passion runs hot between Hunter and Emerson. I can’t wait to read the next book in the The Cross-Creek series I can’t wait to see who Cross brother falls next.

This was a wonderful book and the story really moved me. The characters were very well thought out. The subject was something that is not often brought up in books. It was close to my heart and so relatable. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Crossing Hearts is the first of a new series by Kimberly Kincaid.   I have read Ms. Kincaid’s other series and have loved them as well.  This new series revolves around the Cross family.  They live in a small town and own a family farm.  The family dynamics of the struggle to maintain their farm and just normal sibling tug of war is engaging.  This is also a second chance romance, my favorite kind of book.

Our hero, Hunter Cross, once a promising high school football player, chose to stay and work on his family farm.  He loves his simple, small town life.  When he reinjures his shoulder and requires physical therapy, he is sent to a new physical therapist in town.  He is surprised to find out that the new therapist is Emerson Montgomery, his high school love.  Emerson left town after graduation and turning down Hunter’s proposal of marriage.  Her reasons were based mostly because of misguided youthful choices.  Although 12 years have passed, they discover they are still attracted to each other.  Hunter embarks on a quest to win Emerson back, but Emerson is hiding a dark secret.  I loved this aspect of the story and how Ms. Kincaid dealt with it, not only from Emerson’s point of view but how it also affected her family and Hunter.  

I absolutely loved this story.  The small town undercurrents where everyone knows your business were interesting.  The journey to the HEA for Emerson and Hunter was perfect.  I am looking forward to Hunter’s brothers, Eli and Owen, finding their own HEA.  I highly recommend this book.

A very sweet, feel good story that drew me in and left me with that wonderful feeling that will  keep  me coming back for more.

This was my first book by Kimberly Kincaid, but it won’t be my last. Crossing Hearts was a second chance at love story and what I most appreciated about this book was that despite the fact this couple didn’t end on the best of terms as teens, once reunited they got over it quickly and vowed to enjoy each other which was so refreshing! On the sweeter side of romance, these characters not only worked to begin a new relationship, but also deal with their family squabbles, work obligations and small town gossips. I adored this story and all the characters in this book and am looking forward to what comes next in this series.
Helping to run his family’s farm the last thing Hunter Cross needs is an injury that will prevent him from doing what needs to be done, and finding out that the only woman he’s ever loved is not only back in town but the physical therapist he needs to help him rehab his shoulder. Emerson Montgomery can’t believe her first client back in Millhaven is the guy she left behind twelve years ago, but she’s determined to build her business and she won’t let a little discomfort stand in her way.
I really did enjoy the push and pull between these two and even when they were trying to keep things strictly professional it was easy to feel the attraction and heat between them. I loved the way Hunter kept trying to get past the walls Emerson had put up around her and by backing off and being there as a friend, it helped her to let down her guard and begin to trust him again. Both of these characters were dealing with some family issues and while they were very different issues, they were both stressed from their burdens. Hunter’s family accepted Em back into their lives with ease and her willingness to help them with marketing their products as well as play mediator for Hunter’s brother endeared her to them all. Emerson’s issues with her parents were quite different and while some progress was made, I kind of wanted more resolution than we got in this story. To be honest, I wanted an epilogue for this story and the only reason I was somewhat okay with the way it ended is because I know Hunter’s brother’s stories will be coming and we’ll most likely see this couple again and see how their relationship is progressing.
A charming small town romance Crossing Hearts featured intriguing characters, a complex plot, steamy love scenes, and a love story even years apart couldn’t diminish.

This is more of a 2.5 star read for me than a 3 star one. I felt it was just a blah type book. I had no motivation to continue reading it, as I wasn't invested in the characters or the plot line at all. Not even the secondary characters could redeem this book for me!

Emerson was a tough heroine to read about. I didn't find it believable that she wouldn't talk to anyone about her diagnosis, and she went out of her way to torture herself so she wouldn't have to either! It didn't make any sense to me at all! I get that her parents weren't the greatest, but she also wasn't giving them an opportunity to change either, which I found a bit unfair. She also acted the same with Hunter, though she told him more about what was going on. She made the decisions for him in the past, and continued to attempt to control his actions in the present once they reunite. She really soured the book for me! Meanwhile, Hunter seemed like he wouldn't stand up for himself and fight for the relationship he wanted with Emerson. He finally did something about it all in the end, but it came too little too late for me.

I did like the discussion about farm life and how Emerson's illness was affecting her, but I think this is a case of this reader not fitting the author's writing style.

Something about this one just hit all the right notes for me. They were so sweet together, helping each other in all kinds of real ways, and I loved it.

In this story we meet Emerson Montgomery who returns to her hometown after leaving her job as a physical therapist for a high profile football team in Las Vegas. Hunter Cross farms his family land in the foothills of the Shenandoah. 

This is a second chance story for Emerson and Hunter who were high school sweethearts.. It is also a story about the importance of being honest with those who care about you and respecting choices those people might make for you.  Emerson’s concern about the consequences of her secret being discovered were not as important as her learning to trust those who care about her and love her. Hunter showered her with care and love after allowing her back into his life.

This was an entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics.  The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end.  I appreciate reading books by Ms. Kincaid as she is a wonderful story teller. I am so looking forward to the next entry in this series and I can’t wait to see which characters Ms. Kincaid is planning to focus on her next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
