Jamie Farrell knocks it out of the park; and this (Karen White) narrator hits a triple. This is a definite must read. I rate it five stars. You will love both the book and this audible.

Such a fun read, the banter between Kaci and Lance is great! The pranks between Kaci and Lance as they start to figure out their friendship/relationship keeps you chuckling and rooting for them to work out.

4 star Review Her Rebel Heart (The Officer's Ex-Wives Club #1 by Jamie Farrell

This was a new author to me and what a great book to have as my first read, I laughed so much I cried.

When hot and sexy pilot Lance Wheeler is left at the altar, what's a guy to do? Drown his sorrows in a bar and Kaci Boudreaux a smart and sassy physics professor who comes along and joins him at the bar to have a few drinks.

When fate brings them together at a later date, it is not only the pumpkins that are flying but also sparks of attraction and competitiveness.

There were so many times that I snort laughed reading this book, I simply could not put it down. Full of laughter there were some tugs to the emotional heart strings as I read and although the quirky and colourful language left me a little lost on occasion (I'm Australian) I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Will Lance's wanderlust break these two up before they can get together? Or will Kaci finally find the man of her dreams and achieve the happily ever after she has been looking for?

The secondary characters were awesome and I cannot wait to find out more about them.
Apparently this is the prequel to this series so I will be getting the others as soon as I can.I will be looking at other books written by Jamie Farrell as this was such a good read.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed.

Dr. Kacie Boudreaux is done. Done with bumping up against obnoxious, sexist fellow professors. Done with dealing with her obnoxious, sexist ex-husband. Even done right-this-moment with the obnoxious, sexist Air Force pilots her team is presently colliding with in the pumpkin-chunking contest. So Capt. Lance Wheeler, bless his heart, doesn’t stand a chance with her, does he?

What a great read!!! I Loved this story - it had it all. Two main characters that were so easy to like, plenty of witty banter and sparks between them, a lot of heart and a good dose of humor; be prepared to laugh out loud! But what really touched my soul was the realistic way the “heavy” topics were dealt with. Kacie’s battle against the male establishment at the college.and her cheating, domineering ex-husband was well-written and spot-on. Her struggle as a female in a male-dominated area had me grit my teeth - as a female who also works in what was always considered a male-dominated area, let me assure you that those passages in the book were all too real! Couple that with Kacie’s daddy and mama issues - well, she needed an iron spine for sure! And not to give Lance a brush-off, but being rejected so-close to his trip up the aisle sure wounded him deeply. These two damaged souls truly needed each other to heal and move on. And I for one was more than happy to be along for the trip Kacie and Lance took to their HEA! An A+, excellent read!

OMG......funny from the 1st page on. This was my first read by Jamie Farrell & it definitely won't be the last. I loved this book, I laughed & giggled throughout the entire book. Kaci was a riot & I'd love to know where the author got her inspiration from for her. Kaci is a kick butt, take no prisoners, sass talking, blond bombshell real redneck physics professor. Lance is a hot, just been dumped at the altar, cocky Air Force pilot. We meet them first in a bar where Kaci is trying to get her message across to her ex-husband she's not interested by kissing Lance. Lance not sure it's appropriate to be kissing someone else on what should've been his wedding day takes off quickly after the kiss. They meet up again a month later in a pumpkin chucking contest, were Kaci's all girls team is challenging Lance's squadron for the championship of the contest. This contest & its results lead us to more competition between Kaci & Lance with hilarious results at times. Kaci is battling an all male dominated field at work & an ex-husband who doesn't hear her when she says she's done with him & Lance is just biding his time until his next deployment in 6wks & getting away from this southern town. Whenever the two are together Kaci's mouth never stops with redneck chatter & her idea for blowing off steam is in blowing things up or chucking things which tend to get her in trouble. Lance is drawn to her & when he gets in closer he learns she's terrified of flying but has to get on a plane to Germany soon so Lance takes it upon himself to make her comfortable with flying. The comedy that ensues is outrageously funny & brings them closer each time. Each are denying their attraction & things just get harder to deal with as it grows. Definitely recommend.

Kaci is done with men she is just living her life and helping her girls in her physics class.
Lance is a military man for life a pilot. Stood up at the alter he is just trying to keep the boys in his group in line.

Kaci and Lance start off on the wrong foot but her sassy personality and smart wilted mouth soon draws him in. When he finds out her biggest fear he helps her get through it. He will do anything to get close to her and before you know it things fall apart.

I fell in love with Kaci I wanted her to win in this book at whatever she did. She cracked me many times with that mouth of hers. It is exactly the book I would expect from Jamie Farrell.

A Hot Mess and a Steamy Pilot walk into a Bar…

Fun story with two strong-willed characters Kaci and Lance. Kaci is a hot mess and Lance is a steamy AF pilot. Many times I found myself laughing out loud, sometimes due to this couple’s antics and other times due to the best friend Tara. Tara needs her own story, she’s a hoot.

A physics professor, Kaci is fiercely independent, stubborn and enjoys encouraging young women’s minds toward STEM occupations. She’s also quick to lose her temper and likes to blow things up. On the rebound from failed engagement, Lance is extremely patient, a good listener, has an innate sense of fair play, and enjoys his job with the military and mentoring the younger pilots. She wants roots and he wants to travel. They seem like they wouldn’t go together, but they inevitably throw sparks off each other.

These are likeable characters and their story not only provided entertainment, but made me want stand up and cheer for her Physics Club gals. Love it when the heroine is funny and smart but has human foibles as well.

At this point, I have chosen not to complete this title. I tried 2 different times, and I was not able to engage with the story. As I was not going to be able to rate it higher than a 1 or a 2 were I to finish, I have decided to DNF at 40%

I appreciate the opportunity to read this title.

Thank you,
Laura

I just don't even know where to start with this book. I loved everything about it! Kaci is feisty, fun, smart, and just plain amazing! Seriously, I wish I was even a little bit as fierce as Kaci. Lance is hot, steady and isn't afraid of Kaci's brand of crazy! I absolutely loved that even though Kaci is older than Lance, it was not dwelled on. Kaci got herself a hot, younger man and didn't have issues with it! You go girl! Lol! I think I need my own pumpkin chucking catapult or at least a potato gun! As usual Jamie Farrell drew me into this story with humor, heart, heat and good friends! I would definitely recommend this book!!

I have to say I was rather surprised at this story after it took me a little bit to get into!
Extremely quirky, redneck language, some funny lines and interesting characters with bizarre things they undertake!
It was rather refreshing to me! The characters spoke from their heart most of the time and I really enjoyed the way it ended!
I'm interested to see what's in store in the next book in this series!
Her Rebel Heart was my first book from author Jamie Farrell. A good read!

Jamie Farrell became and auto-buy author for me when I read Southern Fried Blues soon after it came out. I'm always guaranteed lots of romance and laughter with each and every book from Ms. Farrell.

While I'm not sure I'll ever fall in love with another character as hard as I have for Kimmie in Ms. Farrell's Misfit Brides series, Kaci Boudreaux really does come in a close second. Kaci is super feisty and so freaking smart, yet also loves to shoot a potato gun and was even in beauty pageants growing up thanks to her mama.

Lance Wheeler had no idea he has met his match when he meets Kaci. I absolutely loved that Lance totally got Kaci and accepted her just as she was, unlike pretty much anyone had in the past. I seriously loved them as a couple and loved how Lance worked with Kaci to help her get over her fears of flying in so many creative ways.

Lance and Kaci had amazing chemistry and could totally burn up the sheets, but I really think the fact they made each other laugh and seemed to understand each other made me fall in love with them as a couple. Yes they both made some mistakes, but I loved they found a way to make their relationship work long-term.

Her Rebel Heart is the first book in the Officers' Ex-Wives Club from Ms. Farrell, though it wasn't released first. I had no issues with reading the books out of order, but if you are one to only read books in order, you have 2 more stories already out in the series that I absolutely loved every bit as much as Her Rebel Heart.

Rating: 4 Stars (B)

Think “Jamie Pressly” (from the comedy TV show My Name is Earl) and y’all will have the perfect spittin’ image of Kaci Boudreaux, the smart, sassy, beautiful, blue-eyed, blonde bombshell who stole the show in this hilarious, heart melting, engaging, sweet yet occasionally steamy romantic read. You definitely don’t have to be born and raised in the deep south to appreciate her colorful accent and way with feisty words in gettin’ her message across, folks. No, siree, Lordy, this lady knocked the socks plum off Lance Wheeler, the still getting over his cancelled at the last minute wedding hero.

With back and forth banter that had me absolutely giggling out loud at times, I couldn’t get enough of Laci’s quick wit and at times impulsive antics that proved this girly girl could keep up with the best of them, especially this hot bunch of military flyboys. Whether they were arguing over “Bama vs Ole Misse” football or who could launch pumpkins the farthest, I was completely sucked into her circle of southern charm and finesse. If each book in this series is this entertaining, here’s to hoping I can get my romance book-loving hands on each and every one of them and that ya’ll will feel the same.

P.S. Cat lovers’ especially will love Laci’s love and devotion to her long time feline friend, who will likely have you shedding a tear or two, regards of your pet preference.

Jamie Farrell has nailed the Southern rebel female with Kaci in Her Rebel Heart. Besides loving sassy Miss Kaci, one can’t help but find Lance to be swoon worthy. I wanted to jump in this story to say, “Bless your heart, Kaci, what took you so long to take this man off the market for good!” Great main characters, loved the supporting ones too especially those in the squadron.

Reading should always be this much fun. Thank you, Jamie Farrell for reminding me of that. This is the first that I have read by this author but I now have a new favorite one to add to my list of wonderful contemporary romance writers.

If you're looking for a book to keep you laughing look no further. I laughed a lot while I was reading this one.Right from the beginning I knew I was going to like this one. I really liked the heroine Kaci. She's so super smart, but she has such a likable, relatable side to her. I loved the back and forth pranking. This book was highly entertaining. Then you have Lance and Kaci together. A lot of chemistry between them. At first glance you wouldn't think these two would be a fit for each other, but slowly they reveal a little more of themselves and you know they're a perfect fit. That doesn't mean they're not going to have their bumps in the road. I love the gesture Lance made at the end it truly shows he gets Kaci.

A Crazy, Wild, Sassy and Wickedly Smart Small Town Military Romance. If you like your hero to be sinfully hot, crazy smart and way to much fun to be legal. Or your Leading Ladies so perfectly, imperfect it just makes you want to hug them better and never let go then this is most defiantly the story you are looking for.

Kaci is so unapologetic, and adorably real, Lance is so insightful and strong that they make the best kind of explosive combination. Emotional and Entertaining adventure as they figure out what the future may hold. Loved her best friend and all his squad mates, looking forward to also getting to know his sister. Third book out, but first in the series Love it! Must read book two now...

A laugh out romance that I could not put down. Kaci, a southern belle physics professor that loves her potato gun and not afraid of saying what she feels. Lance is a military pilot that was left at the alter and looking for a little fun until his next deployment. But will this short time be enough for either one of them.

The banter between Kaci and Lance will have you laughing out loud. The southern redneck, Kaci is my new favorite character of Jamie Farrell. I highly recommend this book!!
