This book was tons of fun! It was a funny, sexy, quick read. Cassie and Simon were great leads and I adored them. I liked that Cassie and Simon were both serious, smart, conscientious people who could also have fun. Beyond all the sexy times were sweet and serious moments, family drama, and self-discovery. This book had everything I look for in a romance novel (especially the laugh out loud bits) and I enjoyed The List from the first page to the very last. I look forward to reading more books in The List series. |
I absolutely did not like what I read of the 30% I read of the book. Getting excited about the hero tell the heroine about a threesome he had is not my cup of tea. |
I could seriously list a hundred reasons why I loved The List, but I could list even more for how much I simply adore Tawna Fenske's writing. She is emerging as one of my favorite romantic comedy writers out there, and I swear to you guys that you will all thoroughly enjoy her books. So let me tell you guys about The List... Cassie is a woman just like you and me trying to fit in. Unfortunately for her, she's trying to fit in with her sisters instead of friends and attempting to convince them she isn't as boring as they think her to be. So in order to accomplish this, she tells a few fibs and things kind of get out of hand...hence the List. After a few glasses of wine, she compiles a list of all of the lies she has told them in hopes to complete a few of them before her sister's bachelorette party. Unfortunately for her, fate deals her a hand and one sexy stranger to help her along her way. Simon is exactly the type of guy that Cassie's sisters want her to be with, but to his benefit he keeps that all hidden from Cassie while they focus on this sexy to-do list of hers with anonymity. It is quickly lust at first sight with these two, but their no-strings attached fun becomes so much more as each item gets ticked off the list. This book had me laughing so much, and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it. I enjoy a good humored romance as much as anyone, but Fenske's writing is just something special. Her heroines are always witty, sexy, and have just the right amount of vulnerability to make them relateable. I devour each and every single book I read from Tawna, and The List was no exception. I can't recommend this one highly enough! |
This is such a fun, witty and sexy book! Cassie and Simon were great characters with their flirting and outrageous exploits! I absolutely loved them both! The storyline was playful and fun but had a realness to it that was fantastic. It was well written and I believe it was thought out perfectly. I can’t wait to read more from Tawna Fenske. |
Fun fun fun read!! Tawna Fenske is a favorite author of mine for a reason- she just writes with such an entertaining style & creates an exciting story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. |
This is kind of a cute fast read for all you contemporary romance fans. A computer geek (and also a billionaire) has grown weary of the money hungry hoe train that is constantly chugging down his block. Simon is still interested in a little sexual healing from time to time but he certainly wants it with someone who does not look at him like a walking ATM. When Cassie stumbles into Simon's shop with dirt smudged pants and absolutely no intent to seduce him into taking her shopping, Simon is instantly intrigued. Cassie is a quirky story in her own right. She has a PhD in dirt or something and has spent more time on her academic pursuits than romantic pursuits. Things get interesting when Cassie makes a list of all the lies she's told her married sisters about her sex life. Her laptop gets stuck with the list on the screen and she takes it to Simon's shop to fix it. Can you guess what happens next? Yes, Simon offers to go through the sexy list with Cassie so she will have credibility when discussing her wild side with her sisters. What I like about this book is that it was fun and light hearted. There is no abundance of angst here and almost no unnecessary drama. What I just found to be ok were the awkward moments between Cassie and Simon when they were trying to figure their strictly "list" hook up out. I also felt like both Simon and Cassie were just a little too good. I know I'm cynical but I need a little dirt on my characters to keep things interesting. The sex scenes were really average which is weird in a book that's all about sexual exploration. At the end of the day this is a fun contemporary romance. No grit or grime and really no surprises but still a good read. |
Believe it or not, this is only the second of Tawna's books I've ever read. This one was A LOT of fun, too. Rich, geeky guy meets smart, relatable woman and hot AF sexy fun ensues? Totally up my alley. I absolutely adored Cassie and Simon. Their meet-cute made me smile and giggle. I enjoyed the chemistry they had right from the very start. I loved that he agreed to help her complete "the list" of things she'd told her sisters she'd already done. And ooooooh boy. What a list it was! Sexy times being spanked with a spatula in the kitchen sounds ok, so does roleplay. Beyond that? Maybe not so much for me. But, this isn't about me and perhaps that's why I enjoyed reading it so much. Ha! The List was a great read and fun start to a new series by an author I'm happy I rediscovered. It was sexy and funny and low on angst. I really liked the characters and even the relationship Cassie had with her sisters. I'm looking forward to see what comes next in this series! I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. |

Did not finish. After 5 attempts I just couldn't get into this story and I gave up. Sorry, but that happens sometimes. |
This spicy read is laugh out loud funny, sexy, and makes anything involving a list and a computer absolutely sexy! |

LOVED this one! I'm a sucker for a good nerdy romance and this one was perfect! Super sweet and surprisingly sexy with a lot of laugh out loud humor - this book was absolutely perfect! |
I have enjoyed the authors books in the past but always found them to be almost too zany. I absolutely loved the shift in her tone in this book and she will be a must read author for me if she keeps this up. The word that came to mind when reading this book is "natural". The whole relationship just flowed and progressed at a great pace. There was the requisite conflict and resolution but I love that it didn't end with an "i love you" and that was saved for the epilogue. It was so refreshing to read that in a romance novel. The plot of this novel made it seem like it would just be a smutty book but the relationship between the characters as well as their siblings was very well written. A+! |

The List is the perfect blend of erotic story with fun nerdy romance. It features Simon as the sexy geek who owns a large chain of computer stores. He meets Cassie the soil scientist when her laptop dies the night before a big presentation. She thinks he is broke employee and Simon is happy to have found a girl that likes him for himself. Cassie has two older sisters that have always outshone her and so she creates wild sexcapades to entertain them. Simon accidentally finds her reference list and makes an offer to help actually fulfill every naughty fantasy. Simon and Cassie's relationship is built on several lies and will it survive? This is a sexy, romantic story with a fun plot and really entertaining characters. If you like erotica with a sense of humor this the book for you! I was given a free copy for an honest review. |
I actually wasn't expecting all that much of a plot when I read the blurb but it sounded like a cute and sexy read. It was a cute and sexy read but it surprised me because there was actually more story than I thought there would be. There was plenty of hot sex but it was also sweet and funny. I really liked Simon and I do love a hot geek. He was a wonderful hero and I loved the interactions with his sister. Cassie was also a really likable character and the two had great chemistry. The way they met was really cute and although the whole set-up for acting out the list was a little contrived it still made me laugh. Not a lot of angst or surprises along the way but if you're looking for some smoking hot sex scenes, humor and some very likable characters then I recommend The List. |
To start with, for me, this felt a bit too "contrived" and "forced" in how the hero and heroine got together...it was feeling a but like a quick excuse to just get a book of no story and all sex! However, tbh, I was pleasantly surprised that once we actually got into it, there was more to it. It was actually a sweet story, heartwarming and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Both the hero and heroine were great characters, and I actually really like the heroines sisters, I wonder if the one sister will get her own book... I would actually really like to read that. It never got too deep, but it suited the story, we know the past of the characters, and how it effects them now, but it was not dwelt on too much. It was an enjoyable, fun, romantic read. 4 stars |
How do I love The List? Let me count the ways…seriously I like LOVE, LOVE this list. This bookwas smart, funny, exhilarating, sexy and downright fun. I loved the geeky hero and heroine even though they geeked out on different things, I loved that they appreciated each other just the way they are, and while I was a bit disappointed in the hero’s decision to not be upfront about most aspects of his life I could also understand is reasoning for doing so. I have been a huge supporter of author Tawna Fenske’s work for some time now, but I honestly feel The List is her best work to date. When Cassie takes her wine soaked laptop into the repair shop to see if it can be fixed, she doesn’t expect to come across a sexy, geeky repair guy and ask him to not pay attention to what is frozen on her screen. Simon does his best to assure her they are discrete, but he also can’t help but be interested in Cassie’s Fucket List, and to understand exactly what that is, you must read this book. Simon offers his services up to Cassie to help her fulfill everything on her list so that she can experience everything she’s told her sisters she’s done with men over the years. Finding him charming and sexy Cassie agrees. I loved these two together; they are both extremely intelligent and have no problem experimenting and enjoying every wicked thing Cassie has imagined and then some. They are well matched not only physically but intellectually too. The more time they spend together, it becomes obvious that while they are enjoying their physical arrangement, they crave more from one another. Geeky, freaky, and sexy The List by Tawna Fenske was a fabulous, smart, and flat out fun story that I didn’t want to end! |

**3.5 Stars** Simon and Cassie were both the epitome of the label nerd in their respective high schools and both were comfortable in their own skin. They've each gone on to have careers they love in their chosen field, Cassie as a soil scientist, and Simon founded a computer sales and repair company that has since expanded into numerous offices, ensuring a lot of zeroes in his bank account. However, though their professional lives are exactly what they'd dreamed of achieving, their personal ones are lacking. For Simon, he's had a few relationships end as each woman has realized though he is very rich, the other side, the one he cares about most, is devoted to his beloved younger sister, June. Simon and June tragically lost their parents years ago and Simon spends time with Junie and ensures she has everything she needs, including advocating for her rights as necessary due to her disability. Cassie has always known she and her sisters, Missy and Lisa, have different interests and a few years ago, for shock value, she spun a kinky tale involving her sex life, which escalated into another, and another...But now her sisters want Cassie to share those same stories at a bachelorette party and to help refresh her brain, Cassie made a list to go over all she can remember saying. Things are going fine until her computer dies. Thankfully, Simon, the hot employee at the computer store, is magical and repairs it. He also offers to help her work through her list and as their attraction is mutual, Cassie agrees and the two embark on a very pleasurable adventure. But what happens when feelings become involved and both start wishing for more? How will Cassie react when she learns the secrets Simon has been hiding? Can she understand his reasons? Will she forgive him? Can their arrangement become a true relationship? Or has it already been one and neither realized it? Is there a HEA for them? One-click now and follow along as two people embark on a journey that leads where neither ever expected to go. Though this book wasn't quite for me, I do love this author and will continue reading her work. While I liked the premise of the story and enjoyed getting to know Simon and Cassie, and wonder if Lisa will get a second chance at her own happiness, there were honestly certain aspects I just couldn't get into. One being the numerous thoughts on Simon's past girlfriends and how those relationships ended. Also, and though I know Cassie literally asked for the details, I really didn't want to read as Simon told her the story of a past sexual experience. I don't want that as a visual while the main couple are building their relationship's foundation. Third, Simon thought quite a few times about how his exes enjoyed his money, but not the part of his life that revolved around Junie. I understand that would suck, but it seemed as if it was partly his fault as he continually showered those women with expensive gifts, trips, etc. Yes, I understand wanting to share with someone you care about, but it seems as if that started fairly early in the relationship, almost like a buying their affection type thing. When you do that, you're more than likely going to attract a certain type of woman. Along that same line, after we've heard about the money issue throughout the whole book, we then read at the end how he's going to buy the woman who helps care for his sister a new car, and no she didn't ask for nor think he was serious. Nothing about hers needing replaced, being old, etc., but as a thank you, he's buying her a car, not to mention I'm sure her boyfriend will just love this being done. Am I the only one that found this ironic due to his previous book long complaints about women and his money? I understand being grateful and wanting to say thank you, but send her an edible arrangement or gift card in a normal person amount...not a means of transportation. If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. **I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.** |
4 stars The List by Tawna Fenske was a fun, sweet and enjoyable read. I enjoyed the storyline, Simon and Cassie were likable and endearing characters that I easily connected with. I loved watching their relationship unfold, they made me laugh, they made me swoon and by the end I knew these two would have a happy life together. Overall, The List is a quick, and steamy read with great characters that will entertain you from the first page until the last. Another wonderful read by Tawna Fenske and a great start to The List series! *Thank you to Entangled Scorched via Netgalley for the advance copy.* |
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to review this novel. This in no way influenced my review. Cassie Michaels is vastly different form her sisters. The debutants of suburban life worry so about her that she made-up an vividly active night life to get them off of her back. Since her lies made her seem more adventurous than she really was, she did what any scientist would do- create a list to keep them straight. Only one glass of wine later the list is frozen on her computer. So she takes it into the computer repair shop where a cute guy works, one who is going to see the list. Cassie, embarrassed, hands over the computer. Simon, a complete computer geek and a millionaire, took one look at Cassie and knows she is outta her element. It is so refreshing that she didn’t seem to recognize her, so he may have conveniently not mentioned who he is when he volunteers to help her make the list a reality. Cassie is adorable. She understands why her sisters are concerned with her and wishes that they weren’t. She knows that their concern comes from love though and tries to easy their worries. She decides to tackle the list, so that she isn’t lying to her sisters any more. Plus, there is a hot guy volunteering. She tries to maintain her distance and not get attached to Simon as they are just doing the “benefits” but it is hard. Simon has a good reason for keeping who he is hidden from Cassie. I ain’t saying she is a gold digger but he had dated a few that ended up being one. He has a sister whom he loves dearly that has been hurt by the break-ups of the past and so it makes sense to keep his “friends” hidden from her. Simon is close to his sister and he doesn’t want her world rocked anymore than it already is. Yet, with each interaction with Cassie you can tell he is falling head over heels. What a wonderful fall it was. Simon is yeah, I totally dug the geeky computer guy. This book is sizzling hott (yeah with two tts), the chemistry between these two is explosive. They end up supporting each other and falling into an almost relationship even though they made a deal of no feelings. I loved how they came up with solutions to the very vivid fantasy list. My Rating 5 out of 5 stars Favorite Quote “You turn me on when you were wearing sweatpants…” Other People Missy- Cassie’s sister Lisa- Cassie’s sister Junie- Simon’s sister |
