4 Stars!

The first romance novel I ever read was written by Diana Palmer and featured one of her typical brooding cowboy heroes. I’ll always have a fondness for her and her heroes. When I saw that this book was recommended for fans of Diana Palmer, I jumped at the chance to read and review it.

Lost Rider is just the kind of book that I love. It features a heroine who’s been in love with the hero her entire life. I love books where the main couple knew one another from the time they were teens. It also features a wounded cowboy, both physically and emotionally.

If you are looking for an entertaining and heartfelt romance, this is definitely the book for you. This series features a family of two brothers and a sister. Maverick Austin Davis left his sister’s best friend, Leighton Elizabeth James heartbroken and devastated. Although he broke her heart, Leighton has been unable to forget Maverick or move on with any other man.

When Maverick moves back home after medically having to retire from bull riding, Leighton is there and the chemistry is certainly still burning between them. Leighton is very hesitant to put her heart on the line again and give Maverick another chance, and yet her heart clearly belongs to him. I enjoyed the banter, resistance, and ultimate surrender to the power of their chemistry.

I loved this book. Maverick and Leighton were truly destined for one another and the “second-chance” nature of their love story is one of the reasons that I love reading romance novels.

The great news about this book is that Quinn and Clay still have stories to be told, so hopefully, we’ll get more glimpses of Maverick and Leighton in the future.

A wonderful story by Harper Sloan! A little different than what I've read by her before but just as freaking awesome. Book two is just as great and I can't wait for book 3!

This book was a pleasant surprise. At first I really wasn't interested in reading it as it was marketed as a western romance and all I could picture was old western movies. On the recommendation of a trusted reading buddy, I decided to give it a chance and ended up loving it. I would recommend this book to all fans of contemporary romance with a Texas twist!

I couldn't finish this book. I have it 3 months and I just couldn't.

I didn't connect with the characters. They sounded very winny to me and very immature.

Great characters, I loved the beginning and although it slowed down a bit as the story continued it left me excited to see more about Maverick and Leighton!

Going into Lost Rider, I didn’t know that I would love it as much as I did. I’ve love Harper Sloan’s books in the past, and this was no different. I don’t read many cowboy romances, but this one was great.

The last time Maverick and Leighton saw each other it didn’t end well. Now Maverick is back and town and it’s time for them to deal with the feelings they still have for each other.

I enjoyed reading this story and the journey these took to get back to each other. I don’t always enjoy second chance romances, but this one was done very well. I understood why Leighton felt the way she did and didn’t want to jump into something with Maverick. I liked to see them fall for each other finally after all they’ve been through in the past.

I loved this beginning to a new series by Harper Sloan. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! -Leah, 5 stars

this was such a lovely story that had a wonderful plot line and not any great angst. I love Leigh and Mav's story how it started from childhood. The hurt that they both suffered throughout there lives really resonated in me. im so glad they got there happy ever after.

Totally love Harper Sloan's new series. I was so used to the Corp Security Series and this one was so not that. A breath of fresh air with new characters that bring new issues to the table.

I feel like this review should just be Harper Sloan new release. Enough said.

But apparently not.

The blurb for this book really didn’t do the story the slightest bit of justice. I went into it not expecting to like Maverick very much. I had this idea of how he broke Leigh’s heart and who I thought he might be and I was so far off the mark.

Leigh and Maverick have known each other their whole lives and Leigh has loved him from before she even knew what it was. But Maverick broke her heart and left town without a backward glance. Now ten years later he returns and we find out why he left and felt he had to break her heart in the process.

And I have to say my heart broke for him. I completely loved him and I forgave him immediately for everything. Luckily Leigh was so strong and kick arse she not only forgave him but helped him come to terms with his past and work towards a beautiful future.

As with all of Harper Sloan’s men Maverick was the perfect alpha with a massive dose of caring, sensitive, sweet guy. And he was seriously amazing. Watching him set out to right all of his mistakes and make up for the heartbreak he caused Leigh was awesome. They were the perfect couple. And of course there was a whole heap of smoking hot sex and sizzling chemistry.

And getting to know the secondary characters has got me dying to read Quinn’s book.

When I found out that Harper was writing a book about a cowboy, I flipped my lid. I'm totally serious about this too. When I picked up Lost Rider I didn't know what to expect. Boy was I end for a treat.

When I first met Maverick I automatically knew I was going to love him. He was a broken man and there is no putting it mildly either. He has been hurt in indescribable ways that could mess a person up. But Maverick Davis was stuck in that hole for 10 years until life caught up and landed him in last place he wanted to be. Home.

Leighton has a heart that just wants to love. She has loved one guy all her life but he hurt her so bad that she has this void in heart. It's been 10 years since Maverick has left and unfortunate events have Maverick coming back home.

When Maverick and Leighton are brought back together it seems as no time has past. But those hard times are still with them.

I really enjoyed Lost Rider. It may not be my favorite Harper book but it sure is a great book. The pain Maverick feels, Harper made it feel so real. Leighton was a strong woman who has come far and she's the perfect match for Maverick. She's the calm to his storm. The heartache they both went through is what brought them together in the end.

I can't wait for this series. The Davis family has suffered so much and I can't wait for each and everyone of them to have their redemption!

4 ‘Head. Over. Boots.’ Stars!

Harper Sloan is one of my favorite authors ever. So you can imagine this girl’s excitement levels when she got an advanced copy of the first book in Harper’s newest series! I am sure many of you know how good this woman is with military man, musicians and now.. heck yes, cowboys!

Lost Rider is the first installment of Harper’s Coming Home series which will focus on the love stories about the Davis siblings. This one is about Maverick (a rodeo star who has been forced to stop riding and now is coming back to the place he escaped from ten years ago) and Leighton (the woman who got her heart broken by said cowboy and now does not know how to trust him again).

Leighton James isn’t a woman that you can have and let go.

I might be off the circuit, but I’m gearing up for the ride of my life.

I adore second chance romances and Lost Rider was no exception! Harper wrote a fantastic western love story full of banter, sentiments and lots of sexy times! I do have to say, I had a hard time connecting with the characters at first (I don’t know exactly why lol) but now all of them have definitely stolen my heart! I loved how the story developed and also how the sparks between the MCs flew everywhere!

He’s stronger.
I’m stronger.
Together I just know we’ll be unbreakable.
This, right here and now, is our time.

“Get up here and fuckin’ show your cowboy how you ride.”

I mean.. if you have read anything by Harper Sloan you know she does write some of the best alphas out there and she did not fail with Maverick! This cowboy is (obviously) SO hot and swoony! The chemistry between the couple is scorching and who complains when you get all the feels from the very beginning? Not this lady! I really enjoyed this love story and I can’t wait to read Quinn and Clay’s books!

“Honey, all I did was love you.”
“And that love saved me.”

Therefore, I am rating Lost Rider with 4 STARS because it was such a funny, emotional and entertaining read that I practically devoured it. Maverick and Leighton were a great couple and I really enjoyed their interactions with all the other characters. I am so excited to know more about them. Definitely check this one out if you love Harper and you want a new hot cowboy in your life!

Lost Rider by Harper Sloan is a stunning second chance romance between two people who are not only drawn to each other but heal each other. Lost Rider is the first book in Haper's Coming Home series and she rode the full 8 seconds with this story!

Leighton James knows loss, losing her parents at 19 and having her childhood love crush her heart and never look back. Leighton put down roots opening a local Pie Shop but she always followed Mavericks career. Maverick Austin Davis, left home as soon as he could. Running from an abusive childhood that's haunted him to this day. When Maverick is forced to come home he's thrown back into the business of the family farm and dealing with his past and part of that is Leighton.

Oh my! I'm not a huge fan of the Country Romance genre but I've wanted to read something from Harper Sloan for awhile now and when this opportunity happened I snatched it up. It did take a couple chapters to get into the flow of the language but I fell in love with the whole scene and enjoyed the journey that we were taken on. Maverick was such an interesting multi-level character who deep down just wanted his childhood love he pushed away. Leighton was strong and feisty, knowing what she wanted and went out there and grabbed it. I'm excited to see the secondary characters developed in the future books in this series. 5 Stars for Lost Rider by Harper Sloan

Lost Rider was a cutish read. Maverick left town ten years ago after crushing the love of his life to become a rider. After one injury, too many Maverick has nothing left. Then he gets a call that his father is dead and he comes home.

Leigh has been in love with Maverick since she could remember, even after he broke her heart all those years ago. Now he’s back and she doesn’t know how to cope.

Lost Rider was kind of meh to me to be honest. I didn’t enjoy the character and the story dragged out unnecessarily. I have mad love for the cover though.

It took so long to finish this book. It's not because I didn't enjoy it. I really did. I felt like I needed more time then the moments I am allotted for reading these days. I needed to completely lose myself between the pages to give this amazing story it's due justice. Life can be fickle, kicking us one day and leaving us among true beauty the next. Leighton James fell for a boy long before that boy truly could understand what love was. That boy Maverick well he was full of hate, hurt and emptiness. When years went by and Maverick comes back home, so much has changed. The one thing as strong as ever was Leightons draw to this bruised, battered bull riders heart. That first reunion is the only reason this book didnt get 5 stars from me. It didnt fit with their history and the connection they shared. But after that bumpy moment Mav did everything right. Truly a hero that touched my heart. I cant wait for the day Clayton meets his girl . His intensity makes me think he will claim hard and forever. Quin well I hope to see her softness behind the barbed wire. Her man needs tough skin. Cant wait for more.

Safety
Both with others during the years apart. Mav was celibate for many years. They were never a couple in the past. Zero issues once they meet again.
