Holy smokes was this ever a good book! I wouldn't read it until I read the first one and I'm glad I did not read it as a stand alone. It's just nice to be in on some of the background. I liked Zeke in the first book and I'm glad he was the 2nd one to get a book. I read somewhere that this story was "panty melting" and I totally agree. I love the dominant alpha male who will protect his woman. It's just really sexy. I also love this series so far in that the guys are all hot, smart, but really down to earth. I like that they don't flaunt their wealth. I think the whole club scene is part of the fantasy of this series. This book is a little bit unusual in that it IS a bit dark and gritty, a bit of a romantic suspense, but I see potential of bringing a little BDSM into Axel's story. I can't really identify with Gabrielle, but I like that the author tried to being in some understanding of social anxiety. She's not perfect, she is real and Zeke liked her for who she was. I think all the things that Zeke did for his dates with Gabe were really romantic. The story kept going with the mystery of who was involved with the development company. The character development is coming along with all of the characters. This book definitely focused on Zeke (since it was his story), but the first book gave him a good introduction. Who can resist a hot doctor? I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a HEA story.

Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan
The Haven Brotherhood #2

Sweet, sweet S W E E T read…with a whole lot of Wild ;)

I loved the first book in the series and could not wait to read the second AND now I can’t wait to read the third…wonder just how long I will have to wait? There were two then eventually six and by the end of this book seven men in the Haven Brotherhood. What is the Brotherhood? It is a group of men who have chosen one another to be brothers of the heart – not necessarily of the blood. They are there for one another no matter what. If there is a problem – they will find a solution. If the solution is within the gray area of legality – they still just might go there BUT they never hurt innocents and anyone claimed by a brother will be protected. I love the premise, the brothers and so far both of the books.

Haven brother Dr. Zeke Dugan, Emergency Room medical doctor and adrenaline junkie has just come off a shift when his friend Danny’s sister calls – there is a problem – she has been hurt. Danny, Zeke and a few of the brothers head off to see what is what. Gabrielle Parker is leery of strangers and has quite a few questions after having her injury treated. Well, questions are and are not easy to answer and she is not the only one doing some questioning. Zeke has been poleaxed by this latest meet-up with Gabrielle. It takes him a bit of time to come to terms with his feelings but then he is all in and the story takes off with activities, dates, meeting of brotherhood members and more. Add into the plot some nefarious and deadly characters, and things get a wee bit tense for a chapter or so. By the end all is well, a new brother has been added and a woman has been claimed. I am EAGER to see which man finds his woman next! I kind of wonder if Gabrielle’s new friend might end up with one of the guys or if she was just there to become a friend of Gabrielle’s.

Did I like the book? Yes
Will you like the book? I definitely think you will
How was Zeke as a book boyfriend? Dreamy
What did I think of Gabrielle? She was unique, a fighter and willing to grow
Do I want to read more in the series? No doubt about it – I do indeed

Thank you to NetGalleyl and Carina Press for the ARC. This is my honest review.

5 Stars

Gritty, Raw, Sexy, Emotional and most of all WILD & SWEET! Zeke & Gabe knocked me off my reading game hard. This novel was so not what I expected in the BEST ways possible, and I may or may not have a helluva book hangover from this one!

Wild & Sweet is book #2 in the Haven Brotherhood series. Having just finished book 1, Rough & Tumble, I thought I had a great understanding on these men and their family. WRONG, all those things I thought times 200 and even then I'm just scratching the surface to learn the depths of their loyalty, love and commitment to theirs.

Gabe the heroin was everything I needed right now. She is so unlike other characters and really stood out for me. The author did a fantastic job with her internal monologue and the realness of her was spot on! Pair her with a guy like Zeke and I was punch drunk in love. His patience and understanding was endearing and the opposite of everything I thought an adrenaline seeking guy like him could or would ever be!

This is a fantastic additional to this highly addicting series, and I can't wait to read the other guys stories. I can't wait for Axel to eat his words and find a lass to whip him into shape!

*Side-note I pegged Zeke to be my BBF from the minute he was live in R&T but Knox be a heavy contender, here's hoping I'm right!

There were some hot sex scenes in this story. She has some social issues that impede her life, that he helps her with, and she wants to because of him. At times I really felt for her. The hero was patient with her quirks and just the things he did for her were quite nice.I fell a little for him. Her suspicions and mistrust started to wear on me after a while. Grey is a color that needs to be seen. This was a good read, even though at times I wanted to shake the heroine for her black and white views. Once they work through their issues, they get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wild and sweet was fantastic read. Such a page turner with intense plot combined with great characters and beautiful love story. I loved both Zeke and Gabe. Both so different but perfect together. I loved how their relationship develops how with Zeke Gabe starts to open herself to the world. It is also great to see when Gabe finally accepts Zeke and his big family. Their chemistry is off the charts and they have some really hot action.
Great story. Recommended!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Wild and Sweet is book two in the Haven Brotherhood series by Rhenna Morgan. The brotherhood is a group of six men who all have troubled pasts in one way or another. They have come together and formed a family of their own choosing, six brothers who would lay down their lives for one another if necessary. They give each other support, love, a brotherhood that cannot be broken. They follow their own moral code, which may at times be outside of the lines in regards to the laws we are governed by.

This book was gritty, sexy and just what I was looking forward. I really enjoy this authors writing and can't wait for more from this series and these guys!

LOVED Zeke and Gabrielle together. She had issues - yes - and for a while I thought it was going to make the story suffer, but instead his handling of them made his character really shine. It was a deeper connection than most romance you read lately, sweet and sexy and totally engaging. I enjoyed both books in this series so far, and am very excited to see more by this author!

“We follow what actions we deem are right. Not the path society tells us we have to walk.”

In the first book, Rough and Tumble, we met Jace and Viv and I fell in love. Now in this one, we meet Dr. Zeke Dugan, a trauma doctor. Zeke is about as alpha as they come. Did he make me swoon, oh my gosh yes! In the first book we also met Danny, a young man that the brotherhood is considering bringing into their family. When Danny’s sister, Gabrielle Parker, is injured in an attempted robbery in the home next door to hers, Zeke is called in to tend to her. One look and all his protective instincts kick into overdrive.

“It’s hard to breathe.”
“With your arms up?”
“No, when you touch me.”

Where Zeke is active non-stop, unable to be still, Gabe is extremely introverted. She actually suffers from social anxiety. She is an auto mechanic and loves the solitary work which enables her the quiet she so craves. Zeke has never felt peace, rarely even sleeps. But somehow, when Gabe is near, he feels a calm he has never before experienced.

“Gabe was 100 percent long-term material. The type who deserved care and attention. Since when did he want that? Since you found someone worth it.”

“One simple little kiss. One modest press of her lips and he was a goner.”

Something is going on in Danny and Gabe’s neighborhood. Something that threatens the woman’s safety that Zeke has fallen for. And, just as family does, the brothers all step in to do what they can and figure out what is going on.

Gabe doesn’t trust easily, though. She has been hurt before and she can’t understand what this beautiful man would see in her. Little by little, though, he breaks down her walls and she blossoms. I want to say here that I am a sucker for when a man calls his woman endearing words like Sweetheart, darling, love, or in this case, since Zeke is Portuguese, gatinha (kitten.)

“Sweetheart, knowing my day’s gonna end with me curled up next to you and my stomach full of whatever you cook, sweet dreams are a forgone conclusion.”

I am a highlighter and I had three full pages of highlighted quotes so obviously I can’t use them all but oh how I wish I could. So many swoony words.

“I’m not stupid. I know there’s no guarantee what will happen with us, and I know if it doesn’t work out, it will hurt. Bad. But you make the risk worth it.”

This book has everything. Plenty of steam, swoon, smiles, sighs and suspense. Those “s” words are my favorites. Rhenna has done it again with this one. I couldn’t put it down. And what a perfect epilogue. I am just in love with this series. I believe Trevor, the cowboy in the family, is next. I can’t wait to get to know him and the woman that ropes him in.

“Maybe what I’ve been chasing my whole life was you, and now that you’re here, I don’t have to run anymore.”

Summary

Zeke Dugan, may be a surgeon and doctor, but his allegiance is to the brotherhood. His brothers ground him and saved him years ago and he would do anything for them. But he becomes torn when he meets their new prospects sister Gabrielle. Gabrielle is a mechanic and likes her life to be orderly and right. She looks after her neighbors, keeps to herself and her brother but struggles with making friends or having any type of romantic relationship. Gabrielle struggles with a certain handicap whenever she is around people she gets intense panic attacks. But when she is attacked and injured, Zeke is the first person other than family that gives her stability. At first she doesn't understand her mixed emotions whether to go into panic mode or kiss him senseless. It doesn't make sense to her, but when Zeke shows up more she becomes more relaxed and comfortable and starts to grow in ways she never imagined. But there is someone who seeks to hurt her and her brother, and it may cost her the man she loves and the family she has gained....
Plot and Story Line

In Wild and Sweet we are taken on another emotional roller coaster that Rhenna Morgan gives us once again. In Wild and Sweet I was really surprised by how much I fell for this story. This author never ceases to amaze me. We are introduced to some human factors that you never imagined. Our heroine especially, we see some mental handicaps here that really makes us look more deeply at ourselves and at others. Our heroine suffers from a disability that prevents her from making social ties. She can't handle groups of any kind and gets powerful panic attacks any time she is in a social situation. Also we see more defined lines of good and evil in this one as well. Gabrielle went through some pretty traumatic experiences as a kid and to her certain things are always right and wrong. So when she starts to fall for our Hero, whose brotherhood live by their own "code" we see her really struggle. We understand the struggle and it tears you in two because you can see both sides and how the characters almost get torn apart. But we also see how love and understanding can ground you and stabilize fear and misgivings. There is so much depth to human nature that it blows my mind as I think about it. We also get to see the bond between the brothers here. Gabrielle's brother is their prospect. Her brother has never really known a family connection other than his relationship with his sister. But the brotherhood is his support net and we see what a great connection and bond he has with them. But I also liked that this bond we see happen doesn't detract from the actual romance either. It has a realistic tone to the story and I just wanted more of this book and was so sad when it ended because I was SO not ready. Bring on book three because I can't wait!!!
The Cover

I have mixed feelings about this cover....I like the rugged feel to it, but it has that almost cartoonish feel to the cover.
Overall View

Wild and Sweet is a story that wraps around your heart....its vibrant and emotional, sexy and endearing, a love story that battles with emotion, human growth and a sense of purpose and belonging....A SWOON WORTHY ROMANCE

Another hit with this one! Loved getting to know more about the brotherhood. The author took some time and did some research on this one. Good information about anxiety disorders. Zeke could not have been a better match fro Gabe. Great writing. Great story line. Looking forward to all the rest of the series!

Full review to be published online in early April.

In WILD & SWEET, the readers meet Dr. Zeke Dugan, a trauma doctor who spends his life helping and healing people. Along with the other members of the “Haven Brotherhood”, he will do anything to help out his ‘brothers’ and others in need. He is willing to do what is necessary to protect the ones he calls family. Lacking social skills to interact well with others, especially men; mechanic Gabrielle Parker is happiest with a wrench in her hand and grease under her nails. When a robbery takes place at her neighbors, it forces Gabrielle out of her comfort zone and into the path of a strong personality type like Zeke. Their attraction is immediate and intense.

Zeke and Gabrielle are both well drawn and intriguing characters. They both have flaws; but are determined to overcome them. Zeke does more than Gabrielle to try to get their budding relationship on track; until she almost loses the life that she thought would never be hers. Fast paced and well developed, the storyline give the reader an intense story, just like the first book in the “Haven Brotherhood” series. WILD & SWEET can be read stand-alone; but it would be best to read ‘Rough & Tumble’ before this one to get the full backstory of these men who call themselves brothers

Hot, sexy, and even sweet, the second book in the Haven Brotherhood series by Rhenna Morgan is even better than the first! Zeke and Gabrielle have so much chemistry that I kept expecting my e-reader to catch fire or explode in my hands while I was reading! 4/5 stars.

Alright guys, I’m writing this review way, way, waaaaaay early. Like three months or something. Why? Because after reading Rough & Tumble, the first book in the Haven Brotherhood series, I just had to find out more about this group of guys. Thankfully, I already had book two sitting on my Kindle. And since I have no willpower whatsoever, as soon as I finished book one I immediately dove back into this world.

Wild & Sweet is Zeke’s story. Trauma doctor, extreme sports fanatic, slick and sexy Zeke Dugan. Growing up poor, but highly intelligent ultimately led him from Philadelphia to a scholarship at SMU. Which is where he met Jace and Axel and found a place in the Brotherhood. He loves his job and the adrenaline rush of saving lives, but he’s also not afraid to skirt the law when his brothers need his services. There is nothing in Zeke’s life more important than his chosen family.

Gabrielle Parker is quiet and keeps to herself. Her world mostly consists of helping out her elderly neighbors, working as a mechanic and keeping her brother healthy and out of trouble. What almost no one else knows is that she suffers from intense social anxiety and interacting with strangers or large crowds leads her to panic attacks more often than not. Which is why she has chosen to live her life quietly and mostly in solitude. While checking on her elderly neighbor’s house one evening she interrupts a break in and is injured. Her brother happens to work for this bad ass group of men who specialize in troubled situations, which is how Zeke and Gabe meet.

Because I read Jace and Zeke’s stories back to back, without any wait time in between, events from the first book were fresh in my mind. Jace is loudly and proudly alpha male. He’s pushy at times and is involved in some pretty sketchy activities which revolve around his legitimate businesses. He and Viv have an intensely sexual relationship. I kind of expected more of the same, but was pleasantly surprised when everything about Zeke and Gabe’s story was different. Zeke is alpha, but it’s quieter, less in your face. He’s more of a steady warm presence at your back, or someone who will hold your hand and lend strength while you figure out what you want on your own. Which is exactly the kind of hero Gabe needed.

Gabe is a heroine I think quite a few readers will relate to. Unsure, introverted and someone who needs time to work up to certain situations. She’s content with her life, until she realizes that she’s shut herself away from true happiness due to her fear. Zeke slowly enters her life and let’s her set the pace on just how much of him she is comfortable with. He sees something special and finds himself compelled to get to know her better. That she is the sister of a man who might be brought into the brotherhood in the future presents many challenges, but he is prepared to find a way around them for Gabe. But it’s Gabe who has to find her footing and work up to stepping out of her comfort zone.

The building of Gabe and Zeke’s relationship is slow and steady. I liked the pacing and felt like it was a natural progression for this couple. There are sparks, but be ready to wait for the absolute right moment for this couple to fall into bed. Trust and respect have to be built and earned first. And while that is the case in almost every relationship, with this couple it is even more important. . Especially since Zeke wants to be completely honest with Gabe, but some of the things he does for the brotherhood tend to wallow in the gray areas. Gabe tends to see things in clear black and white, and Zeke’s business dealings make her question exactly just what kind of man she is getting involved with.

There is a mystery and it involves some odd happenings and dangerous situations in Gabe’s neighborhood. And while I did find it interesting, and it ultimately led to some decisions about Danny (Gabe’s brother) and his place in the Haven Brotherhood, I felt like it was handled well and didn’t overshadow Gabe and Zeke’s romance.

Overall, I enjoyed Wild & Sweet even more than its predecessor. I’m absolutely hooked on this series now and am already looking forward to book three. (Which I’m pretty sure is Trevor <3 ) Final Grade- B

Coming off her successfully series “Eden” Rhenna Morgan brings us a tale of men who has lived hard and follow only their own rules. Six men who by law aren’t brothers but who chose to become family.

In Wild and Sweet the second book in the Haven Brotherhood. We are introduced to Dr. Zeke Dugan who has sworn an oath to heal people. But by no means does that mean he is not willing to do what is necessary to protect the ones he calls family.

Lacking social skills to intro act with others, especially men, Gabrielle Parker was happiest with a wrench in her hand. But, when a robbery takes place at her neighbors whose home she was taken care of. It forces Gabrielle out of her comfort zone and into the path of a strong personality type like Zeke.

What made this story so great was the characters of Zeke and Gabrielle. They both had flaws but was determined to overcome them. Or I should say Zeke was Gabrielle not so much until she almost loses the life that she thought would never be hers.

Wild and Sweet was fast paced and well developed just like the first book in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone. However, to get the full back story of these men, starting at the beginning would be advised.
