Ready for wild ride with Emma and Ryan, friends to lovers. Bad boy vs good girl. Emma has always had a thing for Ryan, she has finally decided to go after what she wants, Ryan made a promise to Emma's older brother, "keep her safe". Hmmm.... does that mean falling in love with her. Small town romance at it's best. Love all of the friends in this story. Great chemistry between Emma and Ryan with a little bit of spiciness. This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend this story. |
Looking for a sweet and sassy friends to lovers story?! This it is. I have never read anything by Rachel Lacey and went with this book on a whim. I will admit that the cover snagged me and then I read the synopsis. It sounded like the perfect mix of romance, friendship, and heartache. I was not disappointed. Crazy for You is a great story that is full of heart and love. Lately it seems like this niche of romance is a bit tired. Girl falls in love with her brother's best friend. But this story is not the case. One of the things I loved about this story is that there is true history and a solid friendship between Emma and Ryan. They have been through so much together and that bond is strong, almost unbreakable, until emotions and passion start to filter in. This book stands out from the crowd because you can understand the hesitation but undeniable connection these two have. When they decide to go for it, you fall in love with their love story. It is hot, passionate, and so very sweet. It is like they are seeing each other for the first time with a head start towards love due to their years of friendship. The details of this story also add some flair to the book! Their love of the outdoors and individual occupations add something fun. Emma and Ryan's love becomes friendship on fire and is endearing to watch grow. Add in a fantastic group of secondary characters and you have a winning combo. I adored the support system and "family" these two have become surrounded by. It adds emotion and heart! If you are looking for a sweet, passionate love story, grab Crazy for You today! |
Emma and Ryan's story is one of friends to lovers, it's a story I have read a few times before. HOWEVER, do not let that story line/description discourage you from reading it. The book was amazing and definitely one that I didn't want to put down! I was just blown away. I am still a fairly new reader to Rachel Lacey's books, but she now has a fan for life after this one! Ryan is the bad boy in the story... and after losing his best friend, and Emma's brother while at war, he promised to take care of his family (and Emma) when he returned home. But can he resist Emma in the process? Emma has known him for years, and she knows that deep down, he truly isn't as bad as he seems. Their story was so fun to read, and I am beyond excited for the next installment in the story! |
Wow! This story filled me with a heady mix of energy and emotions, an exhilaration that made me giddy and dizzy as if this story was a drug and I was an addict. Crazy for You by Rachel Lacey was my addiction I couldn't put it down. Older brother's best friend and the bad boy trope in one, was a dream come true. I swiftly succumbed to this story that slowly and smoothly seduced me. I had just started it and I already did not want it to end. A slow burn of seductive looks, flirty innuendo, friendship, family and a history of unrequited love that smoldered between them. A seductive and mesmerizing story with explosive chemistry, full of flirt, crazy fun, heat and heart. This has it all. Loved every word! This was my first Rachel Lacey story and I am hooked! Made my heartbeat race, made me sigh, laugh and cry. You have to give this story a try! Highly Recommended. This was a cute, easy read that encompassed some of my favorite tropes like falling for your brother's best friend and good girl falling for the bad boy. Emma and Ryan are totally cute together and once they give in to the chemistry between them there are plenty of sexy times. The main reason I did not rate this one higher was that while I liked both Emma and Ryan I didn't love Emma. She's sweet and determined to break out of her good girl shell but she did lose a small bit of my respect when she was tempted to give up the future she thought she wanted just to stay with Ryan. I'm glad things worked out the way they did but that still bugged me a bit. I did feel bad for Ryan for what he had to go through after his mother dies and he loses his brother. I liked how he was able to pull himself together, start a successful business venture and try to repair his relationship with his brother. My favorite part of the book was probably the supporting characters. I loved Ryan's friends and I definitely want to read Mark's story. I have a feeling his story will definitely tug at the heart strings. |
Crazy for You is a fun, sweet read--Emma and Ryan are easy characters to root for, and the best friend's little sister troupe is one of my weaknesses. (Really, Mom and Dad, what were you thinking, not giving me an older brother? Very short sighted of you.) The secondary characters are great here too--Ethan and Gabby from book 1 ( Run to You ), Carly from the prequel novella ( Rock with You ), even poor Mark and Jess, who don't get their chance at a second chance until the next book ( Can't Forget You --but that's at least better than Mandy, who doesn't even have that...yet), plus Ryan's long lost baby brother, Trent--interesting characters, all. If it's your first trip to Haven, though, no worries--it'd work just fine as a standalone too. There really aren't a lot of surprises in this story, which is fine--Ryan hasn't really been a "bad boy" since he moved back to town, and it's clear from the start that he's going to have no problem seeing Emma as a grown up instead of the little sister hanger-on that she used to be, once he gives himself permission to look. The promise-to-her-big-brother part was going to be trickier, but then again it always is. The solution to Emma's future was honestly so easy to see from the beginning, I was surprised that it took so long for that part of it to be resolved, but it wasn't any less satisfying for being obvious. What makes the story stand out, though, is the writing. Ms Lacey manages to make rock climbing sound sexy when she writes scenes like this one: "Watching you climb that rock is the biggest f-ing turn-on." Really? She must have looked ridiculous, failing around as she scrambled for the top. "It would be really bad if you took me right here." She emphasized the word as fantasies of them having wild sex up here on top of the world exploded through her brain. He groaned. "Bad in all the wrong ways. Bad in the 'bruises and scrapes where the sun don't shine' and potentially fall to your death in the throes of passion kind of way." Well, when he put it that way... Yeah. So maybe not... Still. Fun to imagine in the abstract, while we wait for Mark's book :) Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. |

This was a great addition to the series. While this is a standalone, it was nice to be able to read how previous characters were doing. I loved that Ryan was a bad boy, but had a heart of gold. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a fun and sexy love story. |

This was a great book. Story grabs you from the beginning. Ryan has been asked to keep an eye out on his best friend sister. Emma has had a crush on Ryan since forever. She is trying to shake her good image for a litttle fun since past boyfriend dumped her because he said she was boring. Ryan tries everything to keep from falling for Emma and letting his best friend down. Emma well she does everything to get her man. :) Happy Reading. |
When Emma's brother Derek passed away she lost the last relative she had. Derek made his best friend Ryan promise he would keep an eye on his sister, which means Emma is off-limits. Emma's schoolgirl crush on Ryan hasn't gone away after more than a decade, but he doesn't appear to be interested in her. Emma doesn't know that he's keeping his distance because of his promise to Derek. Ryan fancies her and wants nothing more than to get to know her better. They're friends, but he would love for them to give in to their attraction. Ryan is a player, he rides a motorcycle and he has several tattoos. Emma is a nice girl and only dates clean-cut guys. However, she thinks she's ready for a change. They might be different on the outside, but they have a lot in common. Spending more time together as friends wouldn't harm anyone and that is what Ryan decides to do. That way he can keep her near, but they won't be able to make a mistake. Will Emma be able to use this extra time to convince Ryan to take a chance on her? Crazy for You is an amazing romantic story about two people who have been through a lot. Emma and Ryan both lost their parents at an early age and Emma's brother passed away as well. Ryan still has a brother, but he hasn't seen him since he was little. They know what it's like to grieve and to lose everything, but they're determined to make the best of their lives, which is something I greatly admired about their characters. Emma is a sweetheart and she deserves to be with a good guy. Ryan thinks he's too much of a bad boy for her, but he's actually really kind and attentive. Ryan has never had a relationship and is determined to remain friends with Emma and nothing more, but there's so much chemistry between them that he can't stay away. I couldn't wait to find out where that would lead and read their story in one sitting. Emma and Ryan have a deep and meaningful history and there are plenty of sparks, so they'd be an ideal couple. I loved reading about both of them, they're wonderful together and it was fascinating to see them take baby steps in the right direction. Rachel Lacey writes about a lovely small town called Haven. It's a place I immediately enjoyed reading about and her detailed and warm descriptions make it come to life very well. Crazy for You is a book about both love and friendship. Emma used to be lonely, but there are plenty of people who care about her now and that put a smile on my face. Her group of friends is close and I loved reading about every single one of them. I'm a big fan of reading stories about friends who are falling in love and Crazy for You is a great one. It's multilayered, vibrant and endearing. |
Crazy for You by Rachel Lacey.......5 MAGICAL STARS!! As always, Rachel Lacey has written a magical story that we the readers become part of and feel all the emotions. I loved these two, Emma a good girl and Ryan a bad boy, what a perfect couple. I know when I pick up a book by Rachel Lacey I am in for a treat with a 5 star read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley. |
Full disclosure ~ I was first drawn to this book just because of the title. It made me reminiscent ( yes, I found myself humming Madonna's song) and it took me to a happy place. So, I wasn't too surprised when this story took me to a happy place. It's a wonderful combination of the friends to lovers, brothers best friend/best friends little sister, and the reformed bad boy tropes. The central characters, Emma and Ryan, have a long history and a strong connection, with some new found feelings to contend with. The push and pull between them is delectable and made me positively giddy. Emma Rush, alone save Ryan and her new circle of friends, is at a bit of a crossroads. She's after shaking things up and is looking for a bad boy to help her achieve her goal. She's dating via Tinder which does nothing but irk Ryan. Watching these two move from old family friends to a lot more is a lot of fun. The story is well paced with Emma and Ryan getting under each others skin and begin to forge something neither are looking for. They face the standard challenges and a few unique ones brought about by old expectations and new goals. Crazy For You was my introduction to Rachel Laceys' books and I simply loved it and happily consider myself a new fan. The circle of friends in Haven; Gabby & Ethan, Mandy, and Jessica add so much to the as the ladies wreak havoc and challenge the men. Lacey writing is smooth and the dialogue makes the characters come to life. Emma and Ryan's story really gave me the warm fuzzies - a definite 5 star read and one I'd recommend. |
Received in exchange for a honest review. Love Ryan. He is protective and kind. He changed from his teen self. He also takes his promise to his best friend seriously. It takes him time and almost losing the girl he loves to see that the promise to protect his sister can be morphed into love that protects as well. Emma is the little sister of Ryan’s best friend Derek. Derek is a fallen soldier and before he left Ryan promised to watch over Emma. Now Emma is grown and about to leave town. She is following a dream of going to college and never look back. Before she goes though she decides to see if Ryan likes her as she likes him. She decides to walk on the wild side. For Ryan he has always stayed away from Emma because of a promise and because he thought she deserved better them him. These two were wonderful. Ryan was overprotective and sweet. He also was more grounded and becoming more of an adult. He and his friends started a business and were making a success at it. He tried hard not to act on his attraction for Emma but when she makes it her goal to get him it works. And we are entertained with some fun and sexy times. I hated watching ryan with his half brothers parents and how they made him feel. So wrong of them Ryan wasn’t what they thought he was and they judged him on his reaction when his mom died and he was eleven. He was reacting to the death and being without a parent. they took it as him not being saved because he was like his mom and walked away. they even went as far as to keep his half brother from his life. So when his half brother finds him it is bitter sweet and he is just as loving and protective of him as he is of Emma. He also tries to keep him from going down the path he did. but he realizes with Emma’s help that his brother needs to learn on his own and follow his heart. But this is it seems almost too late not sure yet. With Emma he helps her open up and try things. He helps her escape and view the world differently. He supports and encourages her. He loves her and wants her to follow her goals and to do this he does something incredibly sweet and stupid. I hated to see them both be stubborn and in pain for they were perfect for each other. He opens her up and she helps him calm more and find peace with himself. She helps him see he is good enough and can love her and live up to his promise to her brother. The story is sweet and endearing, sexy and entertaining. The characters are fun and flirty but also sexy and wonderful. I love how Emma sees that her goals and dreams have changed but she can still achieve all she wanted in the past and now without losing herself or love. a great nicely paced romance |
OMG …. excessive #feels people *sigh* Honestly you guys, there wasn’t anything in this story that stood out but at the same time, everything did. It’s your typical best-friend’s little sister trope. Written a million times before. But Rachel Lacey‘s style just made it fresh and happy. Your heart will definitely sing with this one. The story was so romantic and the progression in Emma and Ryan’s relationship was real and tangible. When I was reading, I felt like I was in the story and they were a part of my life. The town and the people that Rachel Lacey has created with this series gets better and better with each book. This is only book two in this series, but something tells me there are going to be quite a few to come! 🙂 Emma has had feelings stronger than friendship for Ryan forever. Life happens and circumstances come about that they decide to scratch that itch finally with a friends with benefits deal. (Because that always works well … bwahahahahah) This was really a simple, easy, romantic journey of two people meant to be. There’s really nothing not to like about the book lol Copy provided for blog tour review |
This is book two in the Risking It All series and I admit that I have not read the first book in this series. You don't have to read the first one to understand this one. Crazy For you is a fun and sweet story that I very much enjoyed. I liked the story and enjoyed the chemistry between Emma and Ryan. It was HOT!! I am going to be adding the first book on my to buy list and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. I give Crazy for You by Rachel Lacey a 4 out of 5. |

Charming small town romance mixed with a little off limits between childhood friends / best friend’s sister Crazy For You by Rachel Lacey is my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this charming small town romance mixed with a little off limits between childhood friends / best friend’s sister. This fun and relatively light hearted read is centred around a woman looking for a little change up and adventure when it comes to love but finds out that maybe it’s not about changing after all. There is also a slightly emotional undertone to the book that fits in nicely alongside the off limits theme that makes this overall a heartwarming read. Told from dual points of view, Emma and Ryan have a sweet connection that blossoms very naturally despite the circumstances in which the plot in set in order to bring them together. They appear as opposites, she the good girl and he the bad boy, but together they complimented each other nicely and it was clear to the readers how their history impacts on the chemistry there between them. There are some great sub-characters, including Ryan’s brother Trent, who help shape the book and characters even further. Crazy For You is well written with a fairly steady pace that flowed nicely. There is just enough drama and tension built in to keep things moving along in a fresh way and stops it being completely predictable. While this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone (my first read and I followed along fairly easily although obviously if you read the first book characters would no doubt be even more familiar). I thoroughly enjoyed this small town off limits romance and will be looking out for more books by this author in the future. |
This is another light-hearted story from Rachel Lacey and this has got to be up there with my top ten books of the year so far. Fun, exciting and sexy all at the same time. |
I was so excited to read book 2 in the Risking It All series! I adored the first two books (.5 and 1) but I LOVED this one even more. Maybe it's because I really related to good girl Emma? She reminded me so much of myself! Ryan was such an appealing character and I totally got Emma's attraction to him. I enjoyed them together- both had sad family histories, and it was nice to see them commiserate and get closer, as well as spend time with the group of friends they both consider family. I am looking forward the the next book in the series, Can't Forget You, where we will get Jess and Mark's story. |

I love it when a girl's night out consists of drinks, laughs, and dares! Crazy For You is a sexy and light hearted read! Emma has always had a huge crush on Ryan, but him being her big brother's best friend she's always just been the annoying little sister. It's a dare but she doesn't care because she is ready to make him see her in a different way! She's ready to experience life instead of just going through the motions. I was instantly interested in where this relationship would go because they seemed to be so different, but as it turns out they really weren't. Emma and her friends are so funny! They're exactly how you would expect girlfriends to act, pushing her to act then asked for all of the juicy details. Emma has a pretty big bucket list and Ryan is all about helping her check some of them off. How dare her ex say she's boring, she'll show him! There are hot guys, a great group of friends, and lots of shenanigans! Everything that I love in a cute romance. |

Let me start by saying Crazy For You was my first read by Rachel Lacey and definitely not my last! Rachel Lacey has won a new reader with this reader. Emma Rush was tired of living her boring life, she wanted to live it up a little, by dating a bad boy, get a tattoo and just live on the dangerous side for a year. Emma accepted a dare from her close friends Mandy, Carly & Emma one night on a girls night out, that she would flirt with her deceased brother’s best friend, her high school crush, bike rider, tattooed bad boy Ryan Blake. Ryan Blake made a promise to Emma’s brother when he enlisted in the military that he would protect Emma from everything especially himself. He was keeping that promise didn’t matter how much Emma flirted with him or would he when he finds out Emma turns to Tender to find a badass after he turns her down and says they can only be friends. Hey a girl has to do what she has to do to make him jealous, right! This book had everything this gal loves in a great romance, small town atmosphere, close friends (who knows what’s going on before the couple does), laughs, a few tears, and sexy bad boy with a gentleman’s heart (who a couple times I wanted to go through the book and strangle some senses into him). I loved watching Ryan and Emma’s relationship blossom from friends with benefits to love it was such a joy watching Ryan fight his feelings for Emma all through the book. If you are looking for excellent weekend romance I recommend you pick up Crazy For You, you will be cheering Emma on like I did. I received a free copy for my honest review! |
It’s been a minute since I read the previous story in this series, but I enjoyed how this book brought me up to speed with everyone. But, had I not read Run To You, I wouldn’t have felt lost. I was quickly entranced by Emma and Ryan’s story. I LOVED how Emma’s friends were cheering her on and supporting her decision to do something wild, out of the norm for her! In fact, her friends practically pushed her into Ryan’s lap. Ryan was Emma’s big brother’s friend. And once upon a time, he promised Derek he’d look out for his sister and not date her. I loved the ease they had with each other. There was a long history with them, but it was simply a friendship so a relationship was a whole new thing for them. This wasn’t a territory either had crossed before and it was so fun getting lost in their journey! Typically, Ryan wasn’t the settle down kind of guy and Emma wasn’t the risk taker. They balanced each other out and the chemistry between them was hotter than hot! Their story moved quickly and I didn’t want it to end, yet I had trouble putting it down! Go grab your copy of this sweet romance today! |
