Melissa Marino had a fabulous debut into the author world with So Twisted (Bad Behavior #1)! I loved that book so much that I knew I needed to continue on with the Bad Behavior series! So, when I saw that So Screwed was available… SCORE! I knew I needed to read it. I am so glad that I did.

In So Screwed, we get Able & Evelyn’s story. We met these two characters in So Twisted (Bad Behavior #1). You so knew that in So Twisted Able & Evelyn would get together!

Evelyn Owen is dedicated to her career. She has no need for a man other than one night stands. That is until Able Matthews catches her attention…

Able Matthews is a ladies man. That is until Evelyn Owen is the only woman he wants…

What I love about Melissa’s writing is that it is so story like. You all know what I mean… There are some writers who are good and but not great. Melissa’s writing is smooth and easy to settle into. Her characters grab you and keep you wanting more.

I feel like that other review and the blurb give you a good taste for the plot line so I won’t go into it with you. I will, however, tell you that you NEED TO add Melissa Marino onto your TBR list!!!

I really loved this Melissa Marino story. The hero was a HOT alpha bartender and the heroine was sassy and took all the names as she got her life under control. I felt they were well matched and I look forward to more from this author in the future. Full review to follow shortly.

This was an interesting story of two very insecure people who are able to walk through life showing themselves as no worries as their motto. When really it wasn’t.
For Evelyn Owens, she is your well put together designer clothed head to toe wedding planner’s assistant. Who at twenty-four, very soon twenty-five, is working her way to becoming a full wedding planner and one day hopefully and owner. Yet, when it comes to her heart she is fearful beyond words.
She was burned by her last boyfriend, Patrick, where she felt she lost her identity. He wanted her on his time and on his terms. Kind of hard when you have your own career and dreams to fulfill.
But when she met her best friend’s boyfriend’s brother, Abel Matthews, there was this instant connection. Even though she was warned off not to get involved. She became more intrigued. Something like the forbidden fruit. Each time they were in the same room the temp went up for sure. They were not the only ones that noticed it others did too.
Abel was a sex stick walking. From the stories told there wasn’t a woman in all of Chicago his shoes had not laid under their bed. Well, except hers of course. Their chemistry was off the charts. Each time he saw her he made sure to ask her out. Just thinking about him always did things to her, most of all her lady parts.
It wasn’t until Aaron and Abel’s grandmother’s funeral that she saw a whole different side of him. He was dressed in a suit looking so yummy and her looking like a drowned rat. It was pouring rain out by the time she got to their Callie and Aaron’s after the service. With charm and a straight face, he called her ‘Beautiful’ and meant it with all his heart.
Once again, before she left he asked her out for coffee. Once again, she said no. The one night her boss Brigette asked her out for drinks after a long day. She said, sure. But, when they just walked around the corner she was confused. They were led to a secret world. A club that is members only. One that had none other than Abel working as its bartender. The two women had drinks flirted with the bartender and when at the end of their evening, he asked her out again…
These two are two peas in a pod. They are so much alike. She is a lady who had a standing sex partner plus extra here and there. She wasn’t looking for real. Neither was he but something could change when you least expect it. Just so you know the ending left me lacking in a lot of ways. Yet, fulfilled too. So, with that, I give this 4 stars. So Screwed was an absolutely fun quick read. I loved the main characters and secondary characters. the romance was believable and sweet.

Evelyn and Abel were both similar yet so different. They both were used to one night stands and sexual escapaded. Abel never found the right one and Evelyn had enough heartbreak. The two were told to stay away from one another, but the attraction between them won over and their relationship blossomed from there.

Evelyn was a woman of many expectations. I found that she expected so much from a guy which why she probably got hurt by her ex. I did love her character though. She was a strong working woman, she was fierce, sexy and knew what she wanted.

Abel was a man of many downfalls and mistakes, but I love that he kept on trying. Abel was just so amazing! I loved seeing the dominate, sweet and humorous side of him. Even when he was down and out he still seemed to be my favorite character.

The romance was beautiful. I loved how they started off with a fling, but clearly knew they had feelings for one another. I love the way they made things work until Abel made that MISTAKE...

Good romance read!

So Screwed takes place some months after the first book. As soon as I read about Evelyn and Abel in the first book I knew they were destined to be together. This is probably my favorite out of the three. Abel and Evelyn are both playing the field neither of them ready to settle down yet and no matter how many time Callie has told them both not to do it Evelyn finally gives in to Abel's charms and agrees on a date. It was easier for me to get into this one with the alternating first person POV Abel's narration was more open and even when the shit came down toward the end I felt like I knew him well enough to know he had his reasons for doing it. Evelyn is very career driven she won't give herself time for an actual relationship but for Abel she makes the exception. Abel is a teacher without a teaching job, he feels like he is living under the shadow of his successful brother; Aaron including him in on business opportunities and letting him work as a bartender in his very exclusive bar but it all makes him feel like he's lacking like he will never be good enough or do good enough for his brother or parents. Abel has a secret he's been telling everyone that he's been making extra money teaching courses online but what he's really been doing is gambling. Abel is a very good card player but he's been on a losing streak. Abel trust Evelyn enough that she knows about this and she keeps his secret. Evelyn finally works through her feelings of abandonment with Abel and they both finally admit their feelings to each other but an incredible job opportunity came up for Evelyn where she has to spend three month out of state. When she gets back Abel is engaged to someone else. Evelyn is very appropriately devastated. Abel has a whole lot of work ahead of him to make it up to her. I loved that what he did it was so freakin sweet.

Overall, emotional rollercoaster the whole way and I loved it.

So Screwed by Melissa Marino is the second book in her Bad Behavior series. This book is told in dual POV and a standalone within the series. This is Evelyn and Abel's story.

Evelyn is best friends with Callie from the first book. She is a wedding planner with high career aspirations and no time for a relationship. When Abel begins to pursue her she begins to realize the man she is getting to know is so very different from the man everyone else describes. She sees who he is at his core and it starts to get scarily close to relationship status for her liking.

Abel is brother to Aaron from the first book. With his brother now in a relationship with Callie it is inevitable that he is around her best friend, Evelyn, more often. The beautiful woman pulls at a part of his playboy soul that never before has been even glimpsed. He gives so much of himself to her but he is still holding back a secret.

This book takes a crazy turn in the drama department just past halfway through and it gets really rough for Callie AND Abel there for a while. They get their happy ending but it is hard earned.

Well, I really liked this story at first. It was, at first, a modern Cinderella story. However, in the end, it lingered too long. It just lulled. There was also the fact that Aaron was a self-righteous jerk. I realize that aspect had to be there to a degree to go along with the plot; however, I could not stand him. I wanted Callie to run as far from him as possible. There were red flags all over that relationship.

In this type of book, I want a happy-ever-after. Instead, I got a oh-that-girl-is-messing-up.

when career girl, evelyn owens tangles up with party boy, abel matthews sparks fly. so screwed is the second book in the bad behavior series, and is it bad to admit that i liked callie's best friend and aaron's brother more than i ever liked them? it took me a while to get through so twisted, this was not the case with so screwed.

when abel finally gets evelyn to start going out with him, it's as if the world changes. he knows with a certainty that there is no one else he wants to be with. but this isn't to say that all his problems disappear. he's still too reliant on his family. he's not working his dream job. he's lying to everyone about where his extra income is coming from.

and that's what gets him in trouble. and it's so hard to stay angry at abel, he's so charming. he's really trying. even when he is screwing up in every possibly way, it's not because he is a bad guy. it's because he's in an awful situation and he's so scared of asking for help. he's ashamed and embarrassed and feels like every horrible thing happening to him is something he deserves.

but he deserves good things too. and the best thing to ever happen to him is evie. and it took him forever to get her to say yes the first time. so he really has to work hard to pick up the pieces of their relationship that he blew up in pretty spectacular fashion. sometimes characters have to work super hard to beg for forgiveness in an over-the-top way that i'm not really on board with, but in this case, abel really did have to grovel. everything has come easily for abel, getting evie back can't. he has to work hard, he has to prove that he wants her and only her.

and when he finally earns every bit of her forgiveness. when she's finally willing to trust him with her heart again, it's totally worth it. you really can't help rooting for them.

This story is about Evelyn and Abel. We met them in So Twisted. I was excited to read about their story because they seemed like they would be smarter than the first couple, Callie and Aaron. Sadly, they were a hot mess as well. More so Abel than Evelyn. Evelyn and Abel had agreed to keep things casual due to career goals but next thing you know they are falling in love with each. They've never felt this way before about anyone. Really?? I know the sex was good but come on. I didn't buy chemistry and attraction at all and was very disappointed that it went from casual to insta love after a few chapters. As expected there was some drama that I didn't see coming. That's one thing I do have to give this author credit for she doesn't go the traditional drama route and it's refreshing. Honestly I'm not sure if I want to continue with the series but I was given a review copy so I may bite.

Bartender Abel has a reputation with the ladies and he nows how to satisfy them, he does has any trouble finding a lady for the night, except the one who has grabbed his interest lately is Evelyn, but she's not interested in him. He's tried his stellar smile, that usually gets them every time, and his wit and charm are legendary, but no she turns away every time.
Evelyn loves her work, she could be called a workaholic, she does have time for much fun, but she occasionally drops into the local bar with her friend, the only down side to that is Abel Mathew. He'll be there, and he'll ask Evelyn again, only to be shot down.
Until she sees an Abel no one has seen before, and decides that she doesn't want to turn him away and may be he deserves a chance after all.
Will this be an HEA for Abel and Evelyn or will a past secret ruin their happiness?
I liked Abel, he was racy, bad boy character. And Evelyn was a strong business woman, she knew what she wanted, she was very well grounded. They both were a little confused about their feelings for each other though which was very entertaining.
There's fun, a little drama and stacks of romance to keep every romance lover happy.
I loved this book. And highly recommend it!

So Screwed by Melissa Marino
“Sometimes life goes smooth, then sometimes you find yourself so screwed, 5 stars”

If you've read So Twisted then you know the two main characters in So Screwed. I loved Abel and I loved Evelyn going into So Screwed so I was thrilled to finally get their story. So Screwed has the perfect balance between light and serious. With that said, I will warn you this story does involve a gambling issue, so if you can’t handle that then this is not the story for you.
Abel is funny, light heart, and a lover of women. But for quite some time now his mind has been on one woman. One who remains just out of reach. What happens when ths woman you want walks into the bar you work at? You say screw it and go for it. Will Evelyn be all that Abel has made her out to be?
Evelyn is firmly dedicated to her career. She doesn’t have time for relationship, so she has one night stands to satisfy her needs. Her best friend has always made Abel out to be a player, so when she finds out there is more to him then she knew Evelyn gets curious. Who would have known there was a serious side to the family joke.
When Abel and Evelyn find themselves together they do what any two players do, they jump in bed. But what happens when the relationship leaves the bedroom, will they make it? When Abel finds himself in serious trouble does he confide in Evelyn or leave the only woman he’s ever loved hurt and confused? You’ll have to read So Screwed to find out what happens.
Here are a couple quotes I liked;
“I pushed her up against the door before my hands reached up and gripped her face firmly. “I solemnly swear I’m up to no good.”
“So many thought it was about flowers and expensive jewelry to get us excited, but it was always the subtle things.”
“I didn’t even make a wish when I blew out the candle because you are everything. You are everything I would’ve wished for.”
“Because you made me want to write every single word.”
Plot- 5/5
Characters- 5/5
Heat- 5/5
Writing style- 5/5
Overall- 5/5

Abel Matthews is a bartender by trade, but he has big dreams of unleashing his knowledge on the world, by hopefully someday becoming an English teacher and writer. Being a drink slinger also lends to his other favorite hobby, being an womanizer, he has it down to a science now, while making their drinks, he charms women into giving him their phone numbers... to later charm them out of their panties. And until now he's never struck out, but then again he has never met a woman quite like Evelyn Owen, she knows the game, plays the game, and isn't about to fall into his trap!

Evelyn Owen isn't like the women she helps, she doesn't want the the white dress, vows, and happily ever after, she prefers to keep her entanglements with men strictly on a one night basis. She is too busy for relationships, not to mention their messy at times, and she just isn't willing to sign herself up for that... that is until Abel comes into her life. At first she wanted nothing to do with the man, she had heard all about him and his naughty boy ways from her best friend, and she was determined not to fall into his trap, but little by little he charmed his way into her life... and her heart!

After meeting these two in the first installment, I was anxious to see how their story would all play out, I knew it would be a good one, but I have to say Ms. Marino surprised me a little with this one... it the best possible way, it was so good!! As soon as you meet these two, you'll start to see that they were meant for one another, both wounded souls, not willing to let love in, but little by little they begin to pull the best parts of one another out, and soon the fireworks start to ignite. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it is a perfectly blended romance story filled with steamy sexy times, witty banter, and heartfelt emotion, that kept me captivated right up and until the last page is swiped! Highly recommend!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

I really enjoyed this book!

Abel Matthews's story was one I never saw coming. He is adorable but has a dark side. I thought his biggest problem was going to be a bad boy and a ladies man, but that was nothing when you find out the trouble he has gotten himself in!!!
Even with his flaws, I loved his character and rooted for him the entire book!

Evelyn is best friends with Abel's brother's girlfriend. So having anything more than a casual friendship would be messy and disastrous right? Especially if the male is a known manwhore and the female is a career driven woman who doesn't do relationships. But what happens when chemistry and feelings get involved?

So Screwed by Melissa Marino is part of the Bad Behavior series. It can be read as a standalone read but you will enjoy it more by reading the first So Twisted.

This was an enjoyable emotional charged read. I loved how focused Evelyn was regarding her career. But she still felt the chemistry that was between her and Abel, even though she was hesitant Evelyn found the courage to open her heart.

But Abel just blew me away. There was so much hiding below the surface of this complicated man that only let others see what he wanted them to see. He made me laugh, got me hot and broke my heart. I just felt family and friends did him a disservice by only seeing the charm. There was a beautiful soul inside him and it took courage for him to face his demons.

I have definitely become a big fan of this series and Melissa Marino has a brilliant writing style that opens the reader's minds and lets the story flow.

You know that saying, there's more than meets the eye? Well this is exactly what we get with Abel and Evelyn's story by the fabulous Melissa Marino! This is one of those books that the strong, independent woman, Evelyn leads a very busy life as a wedding planner to the elite of elite and she doesn't have time for love, especially from Abel who's a true player...or is he? She's been warned to stay away from him, but sometimes listening to your heart instead of your head is the right thing to do.

Just because she shouldn't want him doesn't mean she's going to ignore the connection that she feels with him. She's seen a side of Abel that not a lot have and because of that she goes with what her gut tells her and gives in to the temptation.

Ms. Marino did such a good job with this story. I wanted to be with Abel even knowing he has this love them and leave them reputation. The fact that Evelyn can see what's in his heart made me so happy because she's a woman, that even if she doesn't want to admit, really does want love in her life. I mean she's making other couples dream weddings come to life...why can't she want that for herself?

I for one am now a devoted Melissa Marino fan and can't wait to see what she has next for us!

These two were told to stay away from each other, but that only made them want each other more. She's the woman who's afraid to love, but she's the only one who sees him for who he really is. Or does she? I wanted to punch this man, and so did most of the characters at one point, but I loved him, too! Such a great book!
