This is the first book I've read from Michelle major. And I must say I was really excited reading this book. It talks about Megan and her trials and tribulations of being a young unwed mother as a teenager and growing into a woman who struggles on an every day basis just to make ends meet and try to make her dreams come true. With being hurt so badly as a teen and left for desertion to raise a baby on her own, she has lost faith in love. This story was a real emotional roller coaster. And sometimes it can make you laugh and most times it would make you cry. I found myself tearing up quite a few times. The author presented a wonderful storyline and kept the story flowing without rushing to meet the end. In doing so she was able to create a background for her characters and how they came to be. The characters are all unique in their own ways and have great personalities and charisma. I enjoyed reading this book. I had a very hard time putting it down because I was so curious as to how she was going to overcome each hurdle that she was being presented with. I give this book a definite five stars. I will definitely be looking into more books by this author. Loved this book!! Happy reading! |

I really liked this story about a man who feels ostracized by his family, despite his professional success, and the impulsive single mother he’s in love with. I thought it was an original perspective because in the end neither the hero’s assumptions nor the heroine’s about each own family were completely right, but those assumptions shaped who they are. I enjoyed watching how the hero begins to see his family dynamics in a new light with the heroine’s input. The hero is yummy, slightly damaged, caring and kind. The heroine is full-mouthed, and, when scared, tends to sabotage the good things happening to her. Her son is a great character, and there are a bunch of other good secondary characters. Good writing, good characterization and setting, a lovely story! |
Oh my.... Seriously, you just have to love Jenny! How can one woman, even a red-headed one, create so much chaos? Well, not exactly chaos, but, you know - it is not every day that a girl ends up taking a fake fiancée to a reunion and it is not every day that the same girl ends up taking in the mean girl from, well, the past or posing as a fake fiancée -again- but when Jenny is around, everything is possible. Of course, it doesn't help much that Owen and her chemistry are definitely something else and that he gets along that well with Cooper, Jenny's son. That should be a jackpot, shouldn't it? Yep, things could be easy - if we weren't talking about two people who have been burnt by love before and who tend to be somewhat destructive in order to protect themselves. Sometimes, though, it just needs another perspective or perhaps the one or the other missing detail to fully understand your past and then things might start to look much better. Jenny and her friends as well as Owen and his family are wonderful characters and I really really enjoyed the time I spent with them. This book is well written, sweet and charming and I loved it. |

This is the first book that I have read written by Michelle Major. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I loved the lead character, Jenny. She had a tough time growing up and had been let down in the worst possible way when she had been young. However, she was a kind and generous person who stood up for people she cared about and was generous to those who had mistreated her in the past. Owen was the perfect man, good looking, smart, generous and wealthy. He was just what Jenny needed and he loved her son Cooper. Cooper was such a lovely character who was smart and witty and brought so much to the story. The story begins with a school reunion where Jenny has pretended that she is engaged. So in comes Owen as the fake fiancé. Owen then ask Jenny to return the favour. The book was a good read and I look forward to reading more by this author. |
The chemistry between Jenny and Owen is really great. The emotional journey you go through with both characters hits your heartstrings. The interactions between Cooper and Owen are great. However, this book just didn't do it for me. The end conflict between Jenny and Trent seems unreasonable and forced. It's a cute romance, but not the first book I would recommend. |
This book follows single mom Jenny who has a very strong personality and mouth. Sometimes her mouth gets her in trouble and that is exactly what happened when she ran into her old classmates and they started talking about a reunion. Unfortunately, Jenny got ahead of herself and ended up saying she was engaged to her old boyfriend Owen who is a very successful entrepreneur. Jenny was such a strong character in the book she was successful in her own right. Her main goal in life was making sure her son was well taken care of. She did have the tendency to become closed off to protect herself from getting hurt. Owen is one of my favorite characters I have read in a while. The author tells this story from both Owen’s point of view and Jenny’s point of view. It was a great to be able to get into Owen’s head and see exactly what was going on. Owen has his own issues that he is diligently working through. I liked that we got to see all his emotions as well as his actions during the book. The author did a great job developing Owen to be a complex yet enjoyable male lead character. I loved that we got a real look into Owen’s family dynamic in this book. He has a lot of issues with his family and the author did a great job looking at these issues and expanding upon them. We also got to see the relationship between Owen and each member of his family, which helped me to fall for Owen’s character. The author does a great job with the storyline in this book. It flows along from one crazy idea to the next idea. I enjoyed the other issues the author brought up about single parents and the struggles that they go through. I also loved how the story just expanded and the chemistry was perfect in this book. This by far was my favorite book in this series. One part I just didn’t love was Jenny did start to flip flop a lot in her head and it started to drive me nuts. If both Jenny and Owen could just have an open conversation I feel like a lot of the tension might have disappeared. You don’t need to read the other books in the series to know what is going on with the other characters, but it helped me with reading this book. I felt like I knew the other characters the author was talking about and could feel connected to them as well. Plus, I know some of their personalities so it was easy to take that knowledge from the other books and add that into this book. I would highly recommend reading this series the books are easy to read and have such cute fun stories. I would suggest this as a nighttime read. Although I could sit down and read this book in one sitting, I felt like the story was a cute one that would take your mind off the long day you might have had and take you to a cute romance world. I received a copy of this book from Barclay Publicity for the purpose of providing an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of this book. |

"Meant For You" features a Hero and Heroine who both have massive Daddy Issues. To some degree it's warranted to some it isn't; that's what part of their Happily Ever After journey resolves. The Heroine, Jenny Castelli, is strong, independent, loyal, passionate, but she's also stubborn, vulnerable, hot-tempered, and rashly makes poor decisions. The Hero, Owen Dalton, is intelligent, driven, successful, tender-hearted yet insecure, distrustful, and seemingly always falls for the wrong girl. Michelle Major crafts these complex, engaging, and likable characters and fits them into an intriguing storyline. She includes secondary characters who have starred in their own stand-alone books. The Heroine's son, Cooper, is wise beyond his years; he's a middle schooler who sounds like a high schooler. But it works. This is a Second Chance Romance/Fake Fiancé mash-up with a lively pace. The sex isn't highly descriptive or explicit, but it hits the spot. Michelle Major packs so many little nuances into "Meant for You". There's a twist regarding the "mean girls" and both Owen and Jenny's mothers, and Cooper's laid-back yet cold mercenary streak. The way the four stand-alone books are smoothly and seamlessly interwoven is also a nice touch. But Owen and Jenny are tormented by thoughts they aren't lovable and engage in an emotional push/pull as self-defense. Therefore they are equally angsty. The secondary characters are all necessary and their roles are all well played. One of my few issues is with one of the secondary characters. I wish she would appear stronger in her relationship with her estranged husband. It feel as though it wraps up too easily. This was a book that I didn't really want to put down. It makes me want to read the books that features the other couples. Always a good sign. |
This is all part of a series. The previous cast comes for visits, but you can still follow along and enjoy every bit of this book. This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. |

loved this book so much!! Having read about Jenni and Owen in an earlier book and loving them together then it was great to see the change in Owen. He grew some since Jenni pulled her stunt where she publically humiliated him. And even though you hate that she did that to Owen who is such a great guy you still love Jenni. She is such a feisty independent mom who loves her son more than anything. Jenni has never had an easy life so she is dealing with a lot of insecurities but you see her grow so much in this book. Her mouth gets her in trouble but she can handle any situation she is put in. Owen is now a more confident man this time around but has his own issues due to his childhood and being hurt by his former girlfriend and Jenni. Even though they are getting a second chance you can tell they have always loved each other. I loved so much about this book, Jenni is awesome, Owen is sexy and kind, Cooper (Jenni's son) is a hoot, you feel for her mother, Owen's sister is adorable and you even like his parents even though they are flawed, on top of all that it was some of the best dialogue I've ever read. This is a book I could read over and over again. |
Just loved it i have loved this series and it just keeps getting better its well written with great characters i just love Owen or Jenny and im so pleased they get their Hea a super read would recommend. |
I absolutely loved the premise of this book and the author's voice. I simply couldn't put it down. I love stories where people are suddenly forced to be together but find they are strongly attracted to each other.. The main characters were interesting, not cliche in any way and their love story was believable and sweet. The secondary characters were all fantastic. This author was great to discover! Thanks for letting me read the book. |
I loved this book. Two people trying to find their way in life and a great second chance romance. Loved the son and the secondary characters. I have found another author to follow. Five stars! |

3.5 stars Meant For You is a stand alone book that apparently falls within a series but is not marked that way. There is both cursing and on-screen sex in this book. This is my first Michelle Major book, so I had no idea there were others that came before this one that held some of Owen and Jenny's background. While this book technically stands alone and things were explained enough to get a feel for what had happened between them, I wish I had known to read those first so that I'd have a better feel for these two star-crossed characters and their many friends. This book is both a second chance romance and a fake-relationship story, two things that I always enjoy. While I often found myself scowling at Jenny for being so blasted prickly, Owen's incredibly sweet personality (I would have 100% sent Jenny packing in their very first scene together) and Cooper's adorable-but-often-ridiculous manner evened out my annoyance with her. Although I get that her personality is brash and defensive, her lack of awareness of other people's feelings was horrendous. When she blurted out his parentage like a total jerk after being caught red handed betraying him yet again, I very much wanted to smack her. Owen was a seriously nice guy who deserved so much better. While in the end they did get their happily ever after and the epilogue was really sweet, I wasn't convinced that their relationship really would work out. This is a pretty quick, interesting read with characters that never have a dull moment to just relax. If you enjoy either a second chance romance or a fake-relationship story with lots of twists and turns, you would probably enjoy this book. I requested and was granted an ARC via NetGalley. I was under absolutely no obligation to write this review. |
I enjoyed this book. Jenny drove me crazy with her trying to sabotage herself whenever she became happy and her ex was a real piece of work. I never understood why he really agreed to go to the reunion cuz I don't see how someone scorned and humiliated really wants to help the person responsible for it. Overall it was a good read. |

This book just didn't hold my attention. I found it a little boring and did not finish. |
Reviews by the Wicked Reads Review Team Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆ As a mom, you will do anything to protect your kids and Jenni is no exception. Twelve years ago, her world was turned upside down with an unexpected pregnancy, the rich boyfriend who turned out to be a douchebag, and once again, all the "mean girls" at her fancy private school looking down on her as if she were the trash that needed to be taken out. Now the mean girls are back and have goaded her into attending her high school reunion with her current fiancé, the one and only Owen Dalton. You know, the nice guy that she just happened to run off because he was "just that into her?" Oh, did I forget to say he was rich, too? Owen hasn't forgotten Jenni or what she did to him almost two years ago. He misses the friendship he had with her and hasn't quite gotten over the feeling that he wasn't enough for her. One more person in his life that he wasn't quite enough for. His parents tended to think he wasn't athletic enough, his former fiancée probably thought he wasn't sexy enough, and it was obvious that his brother thought he wasn't enough of anything since he was the one who stole his former fiancée away from him. Today is different. Jenni needs a favor and so does he. Owen will pretend to be her fiancé at her high school reunion and Jenni will return the favor at his brother's wedding. The sticking point? What will Jenni's twelve-year-old son think? Turns out that Cooper is the man with the plan. Loved the book and all its elements! |
A woman's big mouth gets her into a real big mess! This book was a really good read. I laughed out loud several times, usually from one of Cooper's funny antics or witty remarks. That kid was a very well-written character and highly entertaining. He kept his mother and Owen on their toes throughout the entire story. Several of the secondary characters were interesting and added humor to the mix. The plot was probably my favorite part of this book. I love the whole 'fake relationship that turns real' theme. I was surprised to see the charade being used in both Jenny and Owen's real lives. Jenny wanted to fool her classmates and Owen wanted to fool his family. In the end, their pretend affection didn't fool anyone as it quickly became all too real. In closing... A funny and emotional romance with an entertaining cast of characters! Four stars! Jenny runs into the mean girls from school who torture her about her ex boyfriend married and living elsewhere. They start taking shots at Jenny's son with the ex which momma bear Jenny won't take. So she makes up this fictitious fiancee who is rich, successful and absolutely devoted to Jenny and her son. Owen's heart was broken when Jenny broke up with him. But when she comes back needing assistance for a night, to pretend to be a fiancee, all bets are off. Owen's changed since Jenny dated him and he's not going to fall into old habits. This was a sweet book with Jenny being so realistic and similar to myself, I could imagine myself in the story. Jenny (and I) speaks before she thinks and that mouth gets her in trouble. And who doesn't have that every so often?? |
