3.5 STARS
"Masquerading With The Billionaire" by Alexia Adams. Here we have the story of Kat and Wolfe, pretending to be a couple to snare a criminal. It took me a bit to warm up to them, besides the lust factor, I wasn't seeing the chemistry for quite a while. However, by the middle of the story, I was hooked. I grew to really like Kat and my heart felt for her all that she lived through and lost. Wolfe, too, became warmer and more likable. The plot certainly thickens as it progresses and this also grabbed my interest. There are moments that I smiled and a few where I grew teary too so that makes this an enjoyable read in my book. I am happy that I stuck with this one and finished it as it certainly became a story where I found myself cheering for the couple and rooting them on. (received copy for honest review)

Go on, indulge yourself with this romance which includes a very independent, feisty and determined cyber security expert - who has escaped from her homeland, pretends to be an American and lives under an assumed name - and a world renowned jewellery designer. She is currently known as Kat Smith and she’s visiting Remington Wolfe’s company to determine if someone is hacking into his computer network. She’s nothing like he imagined and the attraction between them is there immediately but with so many secrets around, nothing is going to be easy for these two. However, she needs a cover for being in his company and he convinces her to be his fake girlfriend, a role that both find just too easy to pretend and when Kat’s past history and people connected with her come to light, there’s danger from more than a hacker!

I had read a couple of books by this author in 2015 and this one is another great one. Her books are the sort that stay with you, with determined, intelligent, strong, leading ladies who aren’t just a pretty face and strive to protect those they love. In this case, Kat wants to find out what has happened to her sister and is prepared to put herself in danger to do so. She’s smart, confident but also vulnerable. She’s also great at recognising prejudice and making the perpetrator aware of it. The story is well developed with great characters and plenty of action. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys a story with aspects of mystery and suspense, as well as romance that is a great read.

Many thanks to the publishers for gifting me a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review.

WOW. This is an absolutely AMAZING story and it deserves all the accolades that are no doubt coming its way. Kat was the best heroine I've read in ages; smart, sassy, confident in her sexuality and yet emotionally vulnerable. My absolute favourite line in the book was when she called Wolfe on his unconscious misogyny, when he'd chosen to take the word of a man he'd just met over hers. He claimed that their relationship was more than just sex;

"We had more than that."

"No, we didn't, because if we did you would have believed in me and not some bastard you only met for a couple of minutes."

I had to put the book down and have a little cheer to myself. I LOVE it when heroines call heroes on their shit like this. Absolutely love it. And then it gets even better because there is absolutely nothing Wolfe can say which doesn't dig him deeper into the hole. He has to go away and examine his own prejudices, accept his faults and learn how to grow as a person and move on in order to be worthy of her. It was PERFECTION.

The whole book is perfection, really. There are well-drawn characters and logical sub-plots, angsty backgrounds that are totally believable, and some fabulous action and love scenes. My only tiny quibble is as a part-time jeweller myself; no high-end designer is ever going to set museum-quality stones in silver. Silver's not considered a precious metal. If you want the look of silver, you use platinum or white gold, which is much more durable and non-tarnishing. Tiny point to consider if you ever write a jewellery designer or maker again ;P

I loved this story and I have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars.

really enjoyed this book! I thought that it was very well written and had you on the edge of your seat flipping pages the whole time! The characters were well developed and the backstory of both Kat and Wolfe were presented very well. I have to say that I think Alexia hit a home run with this one!!

Wolfe is the owner of a jewelry store and is having problems with someone getting into his computer system. When he hires Kat, a very advanced computer specialist, to help find out who planted the bug in his computer program, he never expected her to be someone that would throw him for a loop. Kat is a very sophisticated woman, but she has a past that she wants to keep just there, in the past. Wolfe and Kat are trying to figure out a way for her to not look to suspicious to others at the office while she is trying to research Wolfe's computers, so they decide to say that she is Wolfe's girlfriend. Wolfe rather likes the idea and wouldn't mind if it was a true fact, but he is still working on that fact.

Wolfe asks Kat to go to the jewelry competition with him that he is attending. The competition is to design a piece of jewelry for the prince of the EU. If Wolfe wins this competition, his name will be out there everywhere and it will be just the break he needs. Kat just needs to figure out what is going on with his computer program before that happens. When Kat's past catches up to her while they are away, will Wolfe be able to clench the victory of Kat and the competition or will he have to give up one for the other? You have to read this one to find out. You will not regret it at all. Great job Alexia Adams. I can't wait to see what is next from you!

Alexia Adams, thank you for inspiring women. Kat Smith proved that a woman can be more than a pretty face, a damsel in distress or arm candy. She had the attitude of a fighter and the skills to back it up. Masquerading With The Billionaire continues the trend that is becoming more prevalent in romantic fiction. The heroine is in the spotlight for her brain, not her body. That speaks volumes.

Someone is embedding malicious code in Remington Wolfe or Wolfe as he's called's company, and he hires a cyber security expert Kay Smith.
To get access to his company's computer systems, she pretends to be his girlfriend. Soon the explosive chemistry between them gets too much to keep bottled up, and the fake relation starts feeling too real. But will the relationship last especially when Kate past starts impacting on Wolfe's ambitions ?

Masquerading with the billionaire is a fast paced, engrossing read that I enjoyed from start to finish. Though there were a few instances that could have been handled better, they don't really impact the romance so I don't mind. It was fast, it was funny and had super chemistry.
I would definitely recommend this book for those who enjoy a good romantic suspense.

Keeps you guessing, who is doing the sabotage. Wolfe hires Kat to find out who is hacking into his system, he did not expect to be interested in her. There is instant attraction between Kat and wolfe, but Kat has secrets, and he wants to know them before he trust her, What are they? And will he keep her in his life, or will business come first?

Kat Smith is a cyber security expert hired by Remington Wolfe to find someone trying to harm his company from within. Kat is one of the best in her field, hails from America, and she never lets a client get under her skin. She has secrets, of course, but don't we all? She's got a job to do and if she can do a little personal detective work on the side- even better.

Wolfe doesn't trust many people. Being in the gem business, he's seen people consumed by greed. When he meets Kat, she's nothing like he expected. Although coming highly recommended by a friend, Wolfe attempts to get the deets on her. He doesn't like her knowing almost everything about him and he knowing nothing about her. When she doesn't give him much information, he decides to have her investigated.

Bringing her into the company will be tricky since they already know it is an inside job, so they brainstorm a plausible cover. The only idea that could work is the illusion of being a couple. She's not his typical girlfriend he would have on his arm, but he is finding her more and more intriguing. She's strong, very feminine, and tells you like it is. He's thrown off when she's by him.

After Kat sets a few trap programs to catch the saboteur, Wolfe invites her to come to Russia with him for a jewelry competition that if won, would put his name at the top of the world's list of best jewelers. Once there, Kat runs into a former foe and Wolfe is on his heels trying to figure out who Kat really is. Finding out little by little, Kat is fast becoming someone he doesn't want to let go, but he doesn't feel he can trust her. Plus his company is still in danger. When Wolfe wins the contest, it has unforeseen conditions. If he takes the commission, then he has to kick Kat to the curb. Can he do that? Even if winning this is the pinnacle situation he wanted? Can he give her up not finding out all her secrets?

I highly recommend Masquerading With the Billionaire! It was a very well-written, intriguing story. I loved the suspense and how you are kept guessing what Kat's secrets were. You are kept on the very edge zipping through page after page, wanting to see what happens next! I really liked Kat-Wolfe was a little different, but I liked him too. Together they sizzled and I thoroughly enjoyed their romance!

This one is excellent!! It is definitely a fantastic romance with elements of suspense and mystery with touches of humor thrown in. Kat and Remington are great characters and their stories are intriguing. I really liked how the author developed these two. Definitely a book I recommend to everyone.

Kat Smith came to work for Remington Wolfe as a cyber security specialist. Someone is slipping malicious code into his system and Kat is determined to find out who. Posing as his girlfriend is all part of the job, until it's not just about the job anymore....

Review:

I loved the way how the plot was given a fresh eye. The story was unique and from the very start it involved the characters and the readers. The elements used throughout the plot helped in making it an engaging read. The characters were powerful and strong and had a personalities that I was able to enjoy.Their chemistry easily took off the book to a new dimension. The narrative style helped a lot in making the book an enjoyable read. I would have preferred a more mysterious cover image considering the plotline and the title. Other than that, I have no other complaints with the book.

My opinion: I loved the book for its individuality in terms of its plot and the characters.

My rating: 4 out of 5

Fun read! Kat is living life in disguise, having left Russia years ago. She's hired to help Wolfe find out who's been messing with his jewelry company as a computer hacker, and when she pretends to be his girlfriend for a cover, sparks fly. Cute read and I enjoyed the characters!

I really enjoyed this story. It is a well written, fast paced romance, but it contains elements of mystery and suspense along the way as well. The story takes the reader on a journey through not only the relationship between Wolfe and Kat but through various countries that the author describes with wonderful imagery. I enjoyed watching the relationship between the two main characters grow.

It has taken me a while to write this review. I wanted to make sure that I got it right.

I loved the mystery of this book. Remington Wolfe is faced with an insider betraying him. He thinks he can handle and outsmart the individual but quickly realizes that Gemstones and designs are his forte and he is out of his depth. Calling in a favor, he quickly retains one of the most sought after cyber security hackers in the world, Kate Smith. Yet Kate is not his vision of a computer nerd. She strikes emotions in Wolfe (Remington) that he thought were not achievable for him, yet he knows she is hiding something. Will her deepest secret hurt both of them or will his growing emotions for her switch on his instinct to protect her for life?

This book is well written, taking the reader on a steady paced journey that has mystery, suspense, angst, passion and beautiful imagery. I didn't want the story to end because I was emotionally invested in Wolfe and Kate. You will not be disappointed with the ending of this book, it is realistic, nice and tidy. Loved the trickery her family (liam) played in the end. Don't get me wrong you will want to shake both Kate and Wolfe a couple of times, and behavior between them will seem odd but it all makes sense in the end.

One of the best books I've read in a while!!! Seriously. I loved this book. It had everything you could want and more. I've read Alexia before but this one is just over the top !!

Kat is a cyber security expert hired by Wolfe to search out the what and who is undermining his company. Kat is a woman with a past that she wants to keep hidden. She's damn good at what she does, she is however rocking two identities, but her past doesn't deter her from who she is now.
She's got a job to do. Wolfe doesn't trust easily and he runs Kat through the paces when they first meet, she prefers her life to remain private despite knowing almost everything about him and his company due to her amazing hacking skills. Right down to how is secretary takes her coffee. They have to come up with a story to explain why she is around the office and so they devise the fake girlfriend. She's not he's typical type but he's truly tripped over his tongue over her. She's all woman and I think that throws him.
She does her job well and still there are issues coming up with his computer that she is discovering, so she's set a couple traps in place. He's got a huge competition coming up to design jewelry for the Prince of the UE and this would put his name forever in history if he lands this. She is his muse for his designs although she doesn't know it. They travel to Russia together where the initial meeting with the Prince for the competition and there Kat runs into an old adversary. Things take a twist. Wolfe is awarded the job of setting the Prince's jewels but it comes with conditions. He's faced with a choice. Take the job and eliminate Kat from his life. Does he trust Kat? Why is his company still having problems?

This book was so well written, the characters were fully fleshed out and had depth. The backstory was incredible. The suspense and intrigue for me was so unexpected and yes, you're kept guessing and a little on edge. I liked Kat a lot. Wolfe was a little intense but I did like him. We see Liam again from an earlier book. The end you do not see coming. It was a page turner from the moment I started reading it, didn't put it down. I absolutely recommend this book.

Alexia, you've truly outdone yourself. Spasibo Bolshoi!!

Loved this book! This is a fun contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. In it Kat, a cybersecurity expert, is called in by Wolfe to solve a computer problem. Wolfe owns a jewelry design business and is trying to win a prestigious contract. Kat is hiding demons from her past, but nothing prepared her for Wolfe.

During their first meeting, they decide that Kat will pose as Wolfe's girlfriend so that his employees will not know he has hired an investigator. In spending time together, they realize they are attracted to each other, but neither wants a relationship. Then Wolfe is drawn into Kat's demons without knowing the full story. What follows is a compelling and entertaining novel that fans of the genre will love. The author is on my must read authors' list.
