I enjoyed this mystery story. It delved into relevant societal tensions, amid some jarring plot twists. The ending was fitting and provided satisfaction for both the protagonist and the reader.

I enjoyed the book immensely. The Last Girl kept me guessing until the end and the author tied up loose ends nicely. Dexter Vega is an interesting character and I can't wait to read more boo me about him.

I honestly don't know what to think about this book. This book was like a really dumbed down version of Night Film by Marisha Pessl. This is the only mystery/thriller book where I actually knew who did it. There wasn't much of a plot and the characters were quite one dimensional. The one thing I can honestly say is that I am tired of mystery books being so focused on sex. Like I legitimately do not care if the main character got laid by 4 different ladies of different color. I don't. And I don't see why it has to be such a big deal in these books. Okay, rant over. If you want something fast to get through and enjoyed Night Film maybe check this out

Great book overall! Started off a bit slow with an out of work journalist, the story began picking up once Dex met Nick, and was given a lot of money to search for his missing daughter. He finds her in Mexico working with a team looking for an extinct animal. When Dex goes to nicks house, he finds out he has been killed, now things get crazy ! The police are looking at Dex the only suspect, and Dex Just can't let this go, why was maya hiding, and who killed nick? You learn all the reasons why, and the ending just puts a smile on your face. Murder is sometimes the only way to save your family...and yourself.

I found it difficult to continue reading this book. I found that i could not like the protagonist. He was a whiner who was always drinking and i couldn't find myself feeling any sympathy towards him. I didn't like the first person narrative in this book as well. Perhaps someone else will enjoy this book; unfortunately, it wasn't me..

Interesting suspenseful book about former journalist Dex Vegas and his quest to solve the mystery of a missing girl and the dead body of the man who hired him to find her.
