I liked this book. Beth was in town to help with her friends wedding. So she hooked up with Brick this hot cowboy. As they got to know each other she realized that Brick lived with her brother on his ranch. So she was trying to keep this fling from her brother but the more they spent together through more they liked each other.
I really liked this booked and can't wait to read the next one.

Brick is a former ranger who runs a ranch for vets with his brother and best friends called At Ease Ranch. Brick and Beth meet and hooked up a few weeks before, but neither can forget the other so when their paths cross again they begin pursuing a relationship. Feeling become involved the more time they spend with one another the only problem and you know there must be a problem. After the time passing and they get to know each other better, Beth realizes Brick is her brother’s army buddy and if Brick find out he’ll drop her so quick. Guy code and military brotherhood prevents Beth to sleep much less date her brother’s best friend. By the time, Beth realizes who Brick is, she is already half in love with him and she isn’t ready for things to end because of who she’s related to. S*** hits the fan after the truth comes to light. Her Secret Ranger is a cute, funny, and steamy read. I really enjoyed Brick and Beth’s HEA. 4.5 Stars. I can’t wait for the next story in this series, fingers crossed its Cord and his heroine is Haley because that will be one interesting story!

We knew in In a Ranger’s Arms that Stone’s brother, Brick, had hooked up with someone but we know who. In Her Secret Ranger, we get to meet Beth. In a really imaginative scene, Brick and Beth are reunited weeks after their original hot weekend. What we, and Beth, don’t yet know is that Beth’s brother will not be happy with her choice.
Brick and Beth are both so likeable. Their interaction is fun to watch. While the two know they have chemistry, they soon realize it’s more than great sex. They really like one another. Their feelings are deepening very quickly. Once Beth realizes who Brick really is and that she can’t continue to date him, she chooses to lie to prolong their inevitable breakup. She just wants a few more days with this amazing man she can’t keep. The reader is left to watch the train approaching and hoping the wreck can be avoided.
Not only must Beth deal with the secret she’s keeping from Brick, she’s also got to deal with a controlling boss, planning her best friend’s wedding and a short notice birthday party. When a fight between Brick and Beth’s brother damages her hotel room Beth is left without Brick, her job or the money she’d saved to finish her degree.
Several heartwarming events occur to give Beth a bright future career-wise and with Brick. We get to see the nice girl find her happily ever after.
This book was very entertaining.

“I’m not sure I can explain it, but when you look at me it’s like a piece of me that I never knew was out of place suddenly fits, and I’m solid. Strong. Whole.”
This book is so sweet and so much fun. After recently reading In a Ranger’s Arms, I was quite excited to return to the Men of At Ease Ranch series and spend some more time with these former Rangers/cowboys. And, happily, Her Secret Ranger did not disappoint.
It was everything I wanted it to be, and it kept me company on a day when I was not feeling the best. From the fateful way Brick and Beth connect to their can't keep my hands to myself chemistry, it was incredibly easy to just forget about my woes (and grumbly tummy) and enjoy this story.
In fact, there's not much that could have dampened my enjoyment of Her Secret Ranger. I love brother’s best friend romances—when done right—and although I was occasionally frustrated by the way Beth and Brick handled their mutual connection to Cord, on the whole, this one was done right. Donna Michaels did a great job explaining the coincidences/gaps in knowledge that were required for it to work, making it easy to for me to buy into their obstacles; Beth’s belief in the power of her brother's influence on her relationships and Brick’s determination not to let anything interfere with his friendship.
In addition to the swoony and sexy relationship burning between Beth and Brick, and the secret between them, I also loved seeing Stone and Jovy (and Lulu Belle) again, and seeing how their relationship had advanced, as well as catching up with Brick’s other Ranger buddies. There's a not-so-hidden message in this series about the power of connection, about supporting our veterans, about finding peace and healing that makes the friendships that much more engaging and emotional.
As I was when I finished In a Ranger’s Arms, I am really looking forward to what comes after Her Secret Ranger—a dynamic hinted at that makes me think that book three will be just as fun as this book was… but maybe a little angstier too.
“You consume me. Once I kiss you, I can’t seem to stop.”
~ 4.5 STARS ~

Her Secret Ranger by Donna Michaels is the second book in The Men of At Ease Ranch series. I have not read book one but I was able to follow along.
Beth is an event planner in a town two hours away. She is planning her friend’s wedding. While in town 2 weeks prior she had a 2 night stand with a sexy cowboy. She had no idea she would run into him again and the sparks would still be explosive.
Former Army Ranger Brick cannot believe his luck when the woman from his dreams shows back up and gives him an earth shattering kiss. This leads to their first date and plenty of action. I found it endearing that he was trying to be a gentleman but the attraction was almost too much for him.
I also liked that Beth was normally a straight laced kind of woman. Brick brought out her adventurous side.
I am always a fan of authors who create great female friendships.

Ms. Michaels' can brighten up any day with her enchanting characters and heartwarming stories. If laughter is the best medicine, Her Secret Ranger is the perfect remedy to chase away the blues. Beth is uptight. With an overbearing boss, who makes her life miserable. A rapidly approaching wedding and an overprotective family, she has a lot on her plate. When a friendly dare leads to a bold decision, her need to relax goes out the window, along with her heart. A person can't help but smile while reading the light and amusing romance.

This story should have been called My Sexy, Sexy, Secret Ranger.
Brick Mitchum has earned his nickname “Romeo” for a reason, he loves women… for a single night. With love in the air at the At-Ease ranch and after meeting Beth, Brick has been having second thoughts about relationships. Especially since this sweet and sexy buxom woman has been occupying more and more of his thoughts and heart.
When even organizer Beth Brannigan went to help with her best friend’s wedding, she never thought she would have a fling with a cowboy, after all, her definition of adventure normally consisted in color codding her planner.
Thinking Beth needs son fun and excitement in her life, her friend dares her to kiss a stranger, Beth was happily surprised to see the lucky man was her secret cowboy and didn’t hesitate to slap on a big ‘ol smooch which lead to more kisses, more dates, and just plain more. But when Beth figures out her secret cowboy is actually a ranger who served alongside her brother, she knows things will go south. Can she convince Brick to give them a shot after she tells him who she is?
I read the first book in the series and was charmed by the characters, the small town and Lula Belle the cow. Yes a cow made me smile! And I couldn’t wait to read about the other Mitchum brother.
This is a sexier read than the previous book, a much, much sexier one that fogged up my eReader from the get go because the protagonist just couldn’t seem to take their hands off each other.
Building from their irresistible attraction, their relationship goes from fling to f-al-ling in love between laughs and sensual touches and a lot of sneaking around in Beth’s case after she gathers Brick is her brother’s Army Ranger friend.
Even though she’s a grown woman and shouldn’t base her decisions on other people’s opinions, I did understand where she came from and the cloak and dagger made for some humorous situations, and when the time came to fess up I wanted to slap her brother and Brick over the head for being so silly.
I loved having Lula Belle, Stone, Jovy and the rest of the men from the At Ease ranch back. I can’t wait to read about Cord, Beth’s brother.
Her Secret Ranger is book #2 in the Men At Ease Ranch series by Donna Michaels. This a fun, sexy and fast standalone romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending and introduction to the next couple in the series.

Another feel good romance from Donna Michaels'"The Men of At Ease Ranch" series. The men of At Ease Ranch are ex military/cowboys with plenty of macho and sex appeal. This second installment is Brick's (Romero) story about finding the one and validating the bro code accidentally because he doesn't know Beth is the sister of one of his Ranger buddies.
To be fair Beth didn't know Brick was one of her brother's friends until way into their relationship and by that time she went to great lengths to keep that fact hidden so she could enjoy her secret cowboy as long as possible. If you want to read a low drama, steamy romance this is that kind of book. An enjoyable read with just enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages.

When Beth hooked up with Brick, she didn't know he was one of her brothers military buddies or that she would meet him again. But two weeks later, when they meet by chance, they can't keep their hands off each other.
Beth starts falling for Brick as the hook up turns into a fling, and then into something more, and knows that he will end their relationship the minute he knows who her brother is. And Beth wants to enjoy all her time with Brick before that happens.
What will happen when Brick comes to know the truth ?
Her secret ranger is a fast paced, sexy, sassy and a totally fun read. Their chemistry was sexy and at the same time sweet, totally drool worthy. The author has done an amazing job with the first 2 books in the series and I can't wait for the next one.

I finished it in three hours because I'm so stoked with Brick and Beth!
I like a hot cowboy who is a Former Ranger and who owns a Construction Firm. I dreamed of being an event planner and I was jealous of Beth.
The chemistry with these two was sizzling that hit the right places on me. The military code names and brotherhood added spice to the story.
I can't wait for Cord and Haley story next, Donna Michaels! Yes, I know they are going to end up too.
Thank you for the ARC, NetGalley and Entangled Publishing!

Meh...I didn't love this one as much as the first book in this series. I found it eye-rolling that Beth would keep it a secret that Cord was her brother for 80% of the book. Then again I am not crazy about the whole "my sibling has a say in who I date" trope. Or the ridiculous "bro code" shit that gets spouted around in these types of books. I can't even imagine for one-second caring who one of my siblings dated.
Hopefully, the next book is better.

A former military team turned cowboys to help other veterans reintegrate back into society. They transform a family farm into barracks for men and women to come to after leaving the military, to find themselves and work through any issues they may have.
The farm actually belongs to Brick and his brother, Stone. They take the other team members on as equal partners to help with the construction and therapies offered. The farm is free to veterans. Brick and his friends own and run a construction company to bring in much needed funds for the farm.
Cord is Brick’s best friend. They’ve been there for each other since they met in basic training.
Beth is an event planner, and Cord’s little sister. She goes out to the local saloon one night for a much needed break and meets a sexy cowboy that she spends the weekend with and then they go their separate ways. No last names exchanged.
Fast forward 2 weeks, they run into each other again. Sparks are still flying and they start seeing each other. Lots of steamy sex scenes but I would have liked to seen more interaction between them outside the sex scenes. When Beth discovers that Brick is one of Cord’s Ranger buddies, she hides the truth from both of them knowing it would be the end of the relationship. I struggled a bit with her keeping it secret so long but sort of understood why.
Cord was a little over the top protective of his baby sister. Brick’s pouting after the blow up was a bit much for a former Ranger. What a great cast of supporting characters. I loved Jovy for forcing the issue! It looks like Cord’s story is up next!
This is my first book in this series and I easily read it as a standalone. Although I am interested in going back for Stone’s story. I look forward to continuing this series.

Military men seem to have a code for everything. Most are easily understood but when it's not allowed to date a buddy's sister that is a hard one to follow. A quick weekend hookup should have been forgotten but something happened when Brick and Beth accidentally meet again, fireworks galore. While the ending is predictable the adventure there is fun, sexy and a little crazy. Each of the men at the ranch have a story to be told but these could be read independently, except the characters reappear. Like the adorable cow crushing on Stone who is constantly jealous of Jovy. Michaels wrote a fun series that can be enjoyed in an evening and leaves us wanting more stories. I received an advanced copy from Netgalley.

This second installment in The Men of At Ease Ranch was awesome! Along with excellent writing and intriguing characters, there is a great story that will keep you turning the pages. The usually straight laced Beth Brannigan decides just this once to let loose and have a little fun with the very sexy Brick Mitchum. Never expecting to see him again she's surprised when she runs into him when she returns to her hometown to handle a short term project. Beth is excited to be back and wants to see her brother but having a little more fun with Brick would be nice too. That is until those two worlds collide in spectacular fashion!
An excellent quick read that I would highly recommend.

This is a great second book in the Men of At Ease Ranch. Not necessary to read the first book but you will recognize character and know about them by reading it first. Beth is in town to plan her friend's wedding. While there she hooks up with Brick, a local cowboy. It's laid back and just sex till it's not an they start spending more time together. When Beth realizes Brick works with her brother, she starts to freak out as there's an unwritten pact about not dating your military brother's sister. So Beth lies and then has a hard time trying to see both her brother and Brick at separate times. Disaster strikes but it was a great read getting there. I love how Donna introduces the two characters for her next book but it's done quietly.

Her Secret Ranger by Donna Michaels is Book 2 of The Men of At Ease Ranch Series. While this story is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
Hawt dayum this book is absolutely scrumptious! Cowboys/rangers and a best friend’s sister troupe make this perfect combo of a read. The connection between Brick and Beth is sizzling hot and will suck you in from page one. Nicely done Ms. Michaels.
Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

This book reminded me so much of another series that is similar yet slightly different too. I love reading about military men and this one is a great addition to this series of these hot, yet wary men.
This story is told mainly from Beth's POV but we also get the guys insight too. The author adds fuel to the flame in a quick manner and the pages are lit up with hot action and drool worthy descriptions that capture your attention. This book was difficult to put down so I was happy I was able to read it all in one shot. A great read with plenty of action and interest.
While I have not read part one, I was not at a loss. It as easy to follow and yet I want to go grab book one. I have a feeling that one also has sparks flying!

I loved book 1 of the series, In a Ranger’s Arms, and was looking forward to this one. I am sorry to say I was disappointed.
The story centers around Brick and Elizabeth (Lizzie/Beth), an assistant event planner whose brother, Cord, was an Army Ranger and who, with his buddies, is running a ranch for returned Vets. One of his buddies is Brick. They meet in a bar not knowing that Cord was a common denominator in their lives. Cord has kept Beth/Lizzie away from his buddies and they in turn have a rule , Do Not Date a buddy’s sister. Beth/Lizzie figures it out who Brick is 1/3 of the way through the story , but not Brick.
The 1st 1/4 of the book was good as was the last 1/5 of the book. In between, it was repetitive , lots of sex , more repetition, more sex, and Beth/Lizzie keeping secrets.
That said, I am looking forward to Cord’s story.
I was gifted this book by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

The second instalment of Donna Michael’s “The Men of At Ease Ranch” continues the saga of a group of returned service men, with fractured souls, hearts as big as Texas and a determination to help others like themselves with demons on their shoulders and bitter memories of war torn countries.
Brick Mitchell earned the name “Romeo” through his ‘love `em once and leave `em’ policy, and has never apologised for his ways. But when the woman who claims his lips on a random dare turns out to be his weekend tryst from two weeks earlier, Brick is smitten. Beth Brannigan thought she’d never see the hunky Cowboy again, however the chemistry that was so all-consuming weeks ago has not abated, and letting this handsome man go may be harder than she realises.
Ms Michaels has penned a wonderful, heartfelt and sometimes frustrating account of two people drawn together, doing nothing wrong, but inevitably ripped apart by an inane Brotherhood code that forbids your buddy from fraternising with your female relative.
The first two stories in this fabulous series are the Mitchell brothers, Stone and Brick, but there’s still so much more to come and Cord Brannigan better watch out, as he is definitely on Ms Michaels` radar!
