The opening chapter is one of the most hilarious and touching I've read in a while. Nicole, Brad’s daughter, immediately wrapped me around her finger. Sweet, funny, insightful, and clever, she steals every scene she’s in. I was rooting as much for Nicole as I was for Brad and Cara. 

A true feel good romance with an instant spark of attraction and a slow burn to romance, Bombshell is poignant, sexy, and laugh-out-loud funny.

The one thing that I found a bit different was that Cara DuMont was not all googoo- gaagaa over Hollywood’s bad boy, Brad Sinclair.  Her walls were broke down over time.

I walked away feeling very underwhelmed with this one.  Maybe that is why this review is fairly short, for me at least.  Of course I will read more of C.D. Reiss’ work.  That being said, this one was just not for me.

This was a sweet story about a nanny and the single dad. Except dad is a Hollywood star and the nanny couldn't care less about it. She just wants to do right by his daughter even if he's hot and makes her think inappropriate thoughts. 

I do have to say I really enjoyed Cara and her opinion. I love that she was willing to tell Brad when he's being less than stellar as a dad, regardless of how she was attracted to him. She only wanted the best for Nicole and didn't care about the glitz, glamour or popularity of being in a Hollywood household. 

I really can't wait for more of this series and the other characters. I just know they're going to have great stories!!

This was my first book from CD Reiss. I knew she was a big author in the Erotic/BDSM genre, but the blurb seemed a little different, so that’s why I picked it.

I immediately got into the story, despite the “weirdness” of the place Car met Brad and his little girl, but the pace was just perfect.
I may had a little trouble to connect with Cara at first, because she seemed a little cold or distant, but as I was reading the book, I understand her better.
The author created great characters, reveals her and there more hints about their past, she managed to surprise me several times, always on a realistic way.

The love story between Cara and Brad was the perfect slow burn kind of attraction, DC Reiss gave us amazing moments of passion ad lust, that’s for sure!

 My only “but” would be near the end, all the relationship between Cara and her parents, it may have felt a little too easy or “rushed”, but I guess the lack of communication in the last years was he way to deal with things.
I also wish we had a longer Epilogue, but that’s just me, since I’m a big fan of those.

All in all, this modern fairy tell was reallygreat and even quite realistically written, in the cold word of Hollywood nannies.

I really liked how CD Reiss described the crazy world where children rarely have a chance to live a normal life, and we sadly get hints of the way they lose their innocence too soon or don’t get enough real quality time with their famous parents.

Bombshell perfectly mixed the bad boy celebrity/normal girl trope with the single dad/hot nanny trope. Rising star Brad Sinclair suddenly has a 5 year old dropped in his lap and absolutely no idea what to do. So he's of course seeking out a nanny. I absolutely loved that this book opens with the little girl, Nicole, having a full-blown meltdown and nobody can console her. Except Cara, of course! But Cara has no desire to work for another celeb family. She agrees to stay on for 30 days in a consulting capacity, but it's not long before she's faking head over heels for her employer.

Except that Cara doesn't want to be the nanny that fell for the single dad. And being around Cara makes Brad want to be a better person, even if he's hiding a potentially career-ruining secret from the world. There is a sow burn that builds between them, so when they finally got together, it was worth the wait. And taking the couple out of the Hollywood spotlight and vacationing in Arkansas offers a lot of insight as to who the real Brad Sinclair is. (I'll let it slide that his reasons for traveling home were just wrong, and he should have come clean to Cara waaay earlier!!)

I thought that Bombshell was such a heartfelt, sweet story. And not just the love between Brad and Cara, but the love each of them had for Nicole as well. I am well acquainted with the "zip it, lock it, put it in your pocket" phrase thanks to my preschooler, but used as a be quiet or hush. I absolutely loved how Cara and Nicole "locked up" their love. 

Little Nicole steals the show in this book! And the supporting cast is a rich cast of characters, who add layers to the story rather than detract from it. The epilogue to the epilogue was just priceless! I recommended Hard Ball all the time after reading that, and I'll be recommending Bombshell as well! I received and advanced copy and voluntarily left an honest review.

It’s been a hot minute since I read a CD Reiss book and I’m not really sure why. I loved her Songs of Submission series, but for one reason or another, I haven’t had a chance to dive into her more recent releases. I figured it was time to change that and what better story to do that with!

Brad is used to getting his way. He’s a hollywood heartthrob that always has a woman or two at his side, never turns down a party and doesn’t take much seriously. When he finds out that he has a daughter he knew nothing about after her mother dies in an accident his life takes a complete 180. Now he has a child that doesn’t seem to stop crying and the only woman capable of calming her down is one that doesn’t want to work for him.
This guy could ruin me. He had all the tools to do it. He was gorgeous and laid-back. He listened when I spoke and had a daughter who was just about perfect.
I absolutely LOVED Cara. She was such a strong heroine. She’s witty and funny and isn’t afraid to give Brad hell when he needs it. She owns her sexuality, which is one thing I’ve always enjoyed about CD’s heroines. It doesn’t take long before the chemistry between them is too much to deny, but with so much on the line, can they give in?
I wanted to fuck her blind. Fuck her open. The dick told me to go into the shower and take her. The dick hadn’t been refused in years. The dick got what it wanted and right then it wanted Cara DuMont so bad I thought the blood rushing to it would break it.
The pacing of the story was PERFECT. It was a delicious slow burn and I thought I’d combust if these two didn’t get together soon. I loved watching the effect that Cara had on Brad and watching him grow up and truly become a father. I loved their chemistry and their banter. But most of all, I absolutely LOVED Nicole. This child stole my heart with her smiles and her tears. She totally stole the show and I couldn’t get enough of her.
Bombshell was a romance full of heart and sizzle. It was sexy and swoony and never failed to put a goofy grin on my face. It was the perfect weekend afternoon read and I can’t wait for more in this series.

CD Reiss has once again written an unputdownable, fall head-over-heels in love with novel.

When I first started reading, I thought I was going to dislike Brad. He was a bad boy, playboy who didn't seem to care much about his daughter. As I kept reading, I realized that first impressions aren't always what you end up expecting and seeing. Ultimately, I ended up loving him. He was sweet and caring, and didn't treat Cara as though she was a nanny or a servant. In the end, you could tell that he did want the best for his daughter.

Nicole was such a cute character to read about. She reminded me quite a bit of a little girl I know. She was inquisitive, smart, and so darn adorable. Furthermore, she was sweet, respectful, and loveable. After everything she has been through, it is amazing how well she has adjusted to a new way of life.

This novel has quickly become one of my favourite reads of the year. I cannot wait to pick up more books from this author in the future!!

We met Brad in Shuttergirl and I’m thrilled to say he now has his own story. Brad is the quintessential Hollywood bad boy, but he’s got more going on underneath all the flash. CD REISS kills it with this book. The building of the story, the plot twists, and the angst all pull together to give us a fantastic weekend read.

The Hollywood Star and the nanny is a storyline you think you’ve read before, but let me tell you that this is a different spin on the popular trope. BOMBSHELL weaves through your heart and the soul, tears you apart, then puts you back together again with the help of a 5-year-old little sweetheart.

Brad and Cara may be the main characters of this story, but Nicole steals the show. Absolutely adorable and she knows just what she wants. The addition of Nicole throws Brad for a loop and the evolution of their relationship was interesting to watch unfold throughout the pages.

Being thrust into life as a Daddy doesn’t immediately change Brad for the better and Cara, as the nanny has to deal with all his crap. The way CD REISS writes their story from beginning to end is spectacular. I felt everything – I laughed, I cried, and damn if I didn’t want to throw the kindle a few times.

BOMBSHELL is a recommended romance and would make a great beach read.

I LOVE single dads in romance novels and this book has a totally forbidden feel to it with Cara being a nanny. I was excited to read it.

Cara is amazing at her job. When we find out her past,  it helps us understand her a little bit more. I also loved seeing her open up and be comfortable with her self.

Brad sucked at the start of this book. There were scenes that I didn't like him a bit, but then other scenes where we see the real brad that make you swoon. 

The plot is what you expect with a famous single dad and a nanny. The author gave up a story was was cute and while it had some drama, it was still a light hearted read. 

Overall, it was a good book. A twist or two that I didn't see coming. I liked the whole forbidden aspect and of course him being a single dad. I can't wait to see where the author takes the series! 4stars #2OCCJD

Funny, sweet, and sexy story about heart throb Hollywood IT BOY Bradley Sinclair. Thrown into a role he never expected, he got more than he ever imagined when he meets consultant and nanny Cara.
That's about all I will say about this riveting and charming story of love, romance and second chances. 
What those second chances are, you'll have to find out! 
The writing was impeccably sharp and witty. The characters were so real and likable. The  banter between them was realistic, and at times touching. There were many poignant moments in this story that made you question what people are willing to to for fame and fortune.
The results had me totally absorbed finding out what Bradley was willing to do.

Bombshell by C.D. Reiss was a great book. Completely addicting, great story line and fantastic characters. I doubt anyone could read this and not fall in love with Brad. He blew all other book boyfriend's out of the water. Hot, entranced read that I would definitely recommend to others!

CD's books are definite sizzle-swoon fest and I so enjoy everything she writes. This one was a little different for me. Usually I fall fast and hard for the men she creates. This time I fell head over heart for the chick in the story. Cara was strong and sassy and I adored her from the beginning. Now Brad took me a little longer to fall for, but be sure he was definitely worth the wait. When we first meet him, Brad has just had quite the surprise gifted to him. His daughter that he had no idea about until her mother passes away landing her in his world. Brad is a notorious partying playboy, so this most assuredly rocks his world. Enter the super nanny - Cara. Their is chemistry between them from the beginning and once they give in to it there is some serious scorch. Not without drama though. I really did enjoy their story and most especially when their little girl does the epilogue. So darling.

I love a Hollywood star and regular girl trope. As with all tropes, I don’t want to read them a lot, because they all run together, but I was ready for another. I didn’t realize that Bombshell was a spin-off of Shuttergirl (see my review), and since I read it a year ago, I had no recollection of Brad being in that book, and I don’t think it mattered at all. Bombshell by CD Reiss stands completely alone.

One thing I have really like about CD Reiss’s books is that she seems to know a lot about what she writes about, and I felt like she truly understood the LA scene (she lives there) and and how the nannies are always in the background.

Cara DuMont loves being a nanny. That’s what she really does, it’s not just what she does while waiting for her break into show business. She has one rule, no celebrity dads. She knows a pretty nanny and a celebrity dad is a recipe for disaster whether real or made up by the paps. Her best friend is another story, and she has seen her destroyed after being with a dad of one of the kids she cared for. So when the opportunity to nanny for Brad Sinclair, Hollywood star, arises, Cara wants nothing to do with it. Except Brad’s 5 year old little ball of adorableness has other plans.
"Zip it, Lock it, Put it in your Pocket!"

Nicole is Brad’s surprise 5 year old. Her mom just died, and she was sent to live with her Hollywood playboy dad who had no idea she existed. She cried non-stop for days until Cara intervened in a public bathroom with the magic touch. Though she refuses to work for Brad full-time, she does agree to consult for one month.



Well that’s obviously a recipe for something impossible to resist, and I must say, she didn’t resist all that hard.
"His tongue found its way into my mouth. He tasted like a bad decision. He tasted like the thing you always said you should have done, but didn't regret anyway. A little bit of starlight. The tart sting of the forbidden and the sweetness of a sin you think you're getting away with."

While Bombshell is kind of light and easy and sweet, there is definitely some angst. I mean we have a Hollywood star who had a 5 year old dumped in his lap. We have an LA nanny who doesn’t ever want to work for a celebrity, and we have an adorable little girl that stole the book. We also have some hot and sexy times, but it wasn’t overly abundant.
I want to fuck you right here, teacup.” 
“The engraved invitation’s in the mail.” I raised my leg over his waist and he tucked his hand behind my knee. “It says, ‘Your dick is cordially invited to come inside.”


Likes: 

•Nicole was one of the best kids in a story I have read. 
•Very intelligently written. 
•It really felt like CD knew the nanny scene in depth. 
•A character you love to hate. 
•Just the right amount of angst. 
•Amazing epilogue. 

Dislikes: 

•Did ANYONE care that this little girl lost her mom? Did SHE even care? It was like never even mentioned outside one scene. 
•It was all a little too easy. 
•For all that Cara fought the idea of a relationship with her boss, she didn’t really fight it at all. 
•I wish Cara called out Paula. 

The Narration: 
Because CD’s writing style is pretty distinctive, having the same narrator as The Marriage Games sometimes made me confuse the characters. Still, these are two of my favorite narrators and they both did a great job. I just would like to see more variety.

The Down and Dirty: 
Bombshell by C.D. Reiss was smart, funny, sexy and sweet. I was hooked from the beginning, and found that I LOVED the little girl, and Andi Arndt vocalizing her was adorable. While it wasn't the most unique storyline, I felt that C.D. really understood the whole nanny in L.A. scene, and I really liked her insight. Bombshell was a good, solid Hollywood romance, and the addition of a cute little girl made it even more fun to read.

Bombshell proved to be a great choice in what to read next! I quickly fell into the story as the heat between Brad and Cara began. This is a story built on hidden truths and an express introduction to family life. They discover they both have a reason for being in each other’s lives.  Their journey is one of self discovery with a lot of fun thrown in along the way! 
This was a story that incorporated the life of the rich and famous as well as the average family. It's a page turner that slowed down a tad in places, but never for long. I loved the references to ‘Southern Manners’ and the humour it provided at just the right moments. My other appreciation is having a new shower scene to think of rather than the Hitchcock one. Trust me, this one will not have you freaking out next time you realise you’re not alone!

Put together a swoon-worthy Hollywood actor and a no-nonsense nanny; you come out with a fun, entertaining, sexy contemporary known as Bombshell.

New single father Brad has no idea that his life is about get thrown upside down. Not only does he have a little person to take care of but he has a life to lead. A life that had no room for little people, or nannies, or Disney. One bad decision leads to more bad decisions and he has no idea how he is going to make this all work out. Because after-all, when he wants something, he gets it with no care of the consequences. 

Cara, is one of the few who have navigated the nanny world unscathed. She comes from little stability but she is smart and caring and worldly. She takes her job seriously and in the past has refused to work for any Hollywood A-lister. She knows first hand what the rumors look like and what that sort of life leads to. But in one poop-disaster she finds herself right where she doesn't want to be and completely taken by a dangerous piece of Hollywood.

This was really an entertaining and great story. It was fun to read, it was a solid and wholesome (for a lack of better word). I enjoyed seeing characters that I fell in love with a while ago and falling in love with some more. I felt like this story held true to who the characters where and felt real. I love reading Hollywood gossip and this felt like a whole book filled with it. I enjoyed all of the pieces and settings and this author has created a vibrant and well-rounded world.

CD Reiss is an exceptional writer. She has finely tuned her craft and creates works that are sophisticated, smart, sexy, and engaging! Bombshell is completely different from her previous works I've read, but not less entertaining. It's one of my new favorites!

Here's the breakdown: Brad Sinclair is a Hollywood A-lister who goes from party animal to single dad in the blink of an eye. Needless to say, he's in over his head and has no idea how to parent a five year old little girl. He consults a firm to hire a nanny, but is unsuccessful in hiring the nanny he wants. Being a hotshot actor has it's perks, so he pursues her until he wears her down. The chase was so much fun!

What I loved: You guessed it! The cute kid! Nicole is so true to life (trust me, I have a little girl). In fact, all the characters are. This is where the author excels. Her characters are real and sometimes larger than life. They jump off the page and imprint themselves on the reader. 

The writing is superb. The storyline is exceptional. And the emotional aspect of the story is executed perfectly. I can't imagine inheriting the responsibility of a small human without expecting it, especially while maintaining a lifestyle that's in complete opposition of being a family man. Whew! 

The attention to detail. This is one of the reasons I truly enjoy the authors writing. It's authentic and well researched or born from firsthand experiences. I have no idea how Hollywood homes operate and how much staff is necessary. Getting that sneak peek engaged me in the action.

Overall, I highly recommend this light, fun, sexy read! It's authentic, real, engaging, and well constructed. Brad, Nicole, and Cara will definitely capture your attention and heart!

Like somebody pulls a cord in the middle of a loud and crazy wild party. 
What is a stunned single , overwhelmed father to do ? 
Go the Hollywood route and add to the Entourage of starlife.......hire a nanny ! 
There's West Side Nannies. An elite, celebrity Nanny services company. So Cara DuMont gets hired as a Celebrity nanny . 
And that’s exactly what a celebrity nanny is. Not only is she attractive but she’s great with the kids. She does all the things the dad associated with his normal upbringing, which is likely the upbringing he promised himself he was going to give his children. The nanny represents that failed promise. She kisses boo-boos, packs lunches, cooks what the children like, and sits to eat with them. His wife is usually in the business as well, and travels, works all hours, and manages a business team as well as the household team. She represents all the dad’s failures as a father, because she’s juggling everything but the children.
She's determined and focused solely on Nicole Garcia Sinclair. An adorable , well mannered , lost girl and Cara brings calm in both of their world. But her world turns upside down . She becomes the much needed glue in the Broken and awkward relationship between the new dad and confused child.
"if you break a vase and glue it back together, it’s bigger after it breaks? The glue takes up space. The cracks add to it.”
She tries and succeeds in blending in the background of Hollywood spotlight that always follows the stars. Standing just over the edge in the darkness , keeping an eye on the stars' accessory kids. The problem is , Cara gets invested in the kids and Brad gets invested in her.
It was so interesting to see the celebrity life BTS look in this story. Couple of years ago there was a scandal involving Ethan Hawke and his Affair with the nanny Ryan, where he married her. 
MAYBE this story was inspired from there, I don't know, but I can say for sure, matters of the heart rarely travel on a straight and easy path .
The story is simple , the progression natural and predictable . But the difference between Reiss and other authors , in treatment and narration , is Planetary . She not only paints a vivid picture, she exquisitely embellishes the thoughts and emotions with just the right amount of words. 
Not more , not less. Just right!

And that's where she justifies the title of Shakespeare of Smut. Though TBH I cringe at the genre. There's hardly any smut. Her writing is purely romantic , intermingled with Sass.
There's no lip biting virgins, no alpha with OTT endowments or "you're so tight, you're wet for me,I was moist and throbbing" cliches you read in cookie cutter romances all around. 
The story has a heart, it has a soul and I could feel it so bad that I ended up pitying Paula , where I was supposed to hate her. Cock-blocking kids, stolen moments of passion, real life travails, a haunting secret that Brad has that almost tears them apart , and the reason why , all these make a very authentic story of a very starry lifestyle couple .
I am a hard core Reiss style of writing. Nobody writes like her .
The scene in Disney resort , was so hot and pulse pounding ..... My hormones rushed through my blood like marauders setting the village on fire.

Always such a JOY reading her books. It's like after a long dry drive, you come back to the manicured gardens of your home. You can smell the fresh grass and the contentment you feel is what I feel reading her words. Smell, breathe deep and feel the story seeping in <3

CD Reiss has a unique writing style, one that is either love it or hate it in  my opinion. For me her book are always a must read. This one was no different. If you can look past her rather blunt style of writing you will find a book that surprising warmth, moments of gorgeous humour and one that will leave you with an undeniably big grin on your face.
