Wow. The moment I saw this blurb I wanted to get my hands on it. I'm a sucker for single dad stories and I love C.D. Reiss' writing so this was high on my TBR list-and I definitely enjoyed this book.

I sometimes worry about books that have children as such a focal point of the story-because not every author can portray children as well as they can adults. Of course, this is not a problem for C.D. Reiss. I fell in love with Nicole instantly. Her thought pattern, her speech, her wants/needs are all on par for a child her age. I honestly wanted to hug her.

Cara was what I expected...yet not. I loved her protectiveness towards the children in her care. I love that she always had their best interests in mind. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself-rare traits in the Hollywood environment that she finds herself in. 

I can't lie-it took me a little while to warm up to Brad. I wanted to love him right away and I just couldn't at first...but once I DID fall? I fell hard. He has the world at his feet and just doesn't even know what to do with it. There were some moments of frustration but watching him push and grow through them was satisfying.

Oh the slow burn. The ache for these two to be together was intense. Once they finally came together? Holy fireworks. C.D. Reiss knows how to write sex that is steamy, hot, and sexy and that shows in this book. 

This book had some laughs in it for me as well, as any book involving a child will. They do tend to pop up and say things at the most inopportune times. Watching them all figure out the dynamics they were now dealing with was interesting. I liked how realistic that was; these three characters (Nicole totally counts) figuring out what to do with one another and dealing with their growing pains. 

Bombshell was an enjoyable-and more emotional than I expected- read for me and I would absolutely recommend it. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Reiss has in store for us next!

I have a confession to make. Although it seems unbelievable even to my own ears – especially because I have almost all her books already waiting on my Kindle –, BOMBSHELL has been the first book by CD Reiss I have read. Now it’s out. Phew.

And how much I fell for this story… It is one amazing tale about an A-list Hollywood actor and a nanny that had me constantly smiling and swooning. I loved the slow burn and the fact it wasn’t all about instant attraction and getting the other into bed, it went so much deeper, right from the start. Both fighting their attraction , they are in an employer – employee relationship after all – and it wouldn’t be only their hearts that get hurt should their relationship go down the drain, which is even more reason to keep things between them strictly professional. Nicole, Brad’s 5-year-old daughter, really is a handful – and she knows what she wants. I adored that little girl so much!

Cara DuMont has a cardinal rule: to never work for actors or celebrities again. Drama, paparazzi and ending up on the front of tabloids is definitely something she plans to avoid at all costs. But when Hollywood star Brad Sinclair discovers overnight that he is father and now the only guardian the little girl has left, she somehow finds herself employed to the charming playboy, who has no clue at all how to take care of a child. While she constantly scolds and schools the overwhelmed man how to be a good father and slowly becomes attached to the little girl, she has to fight her naughty dreams starring a certain famous actor…

I loved how the two of them bond over Brad’s daughter, how Brad fights to keep Cara – be it as nanny only or much more – consequences for both their careers be damned –, how they were a good team almost right from the start, that Brad is a southern boy who had to work hard for his fame and success, that Cara is as down to earth and straightforward as she is… The lists goes on.

This book is the whole package – sweet and heartwarming, funny and sexy – also including secrets and enough drama to keep you glued to the pages.

My next CD Reiss book will definitely be Shuttergirl, as I learned that this is where Brad made his first appearance!

This is my first book by this author and I loved it!  Bombshell is a standalone but it follows Shuttergirl( I haven't read yet)......I guess Brad is a character form that book.  Both Brad and Cara grow and change in this book.  Cara's past is heartbreaking and when Brad talks about his issues from the past, it really points to how kids can be traumatized....through no fault of their own.  Both characters were very likable. The insight into the Hollywood families/nannies was also very interesting and sad.  The book was a bit slow n the beginning but by the 50% mark, I couldn't put it down.  Brad was a wonderful hero.  The chemistry was off the charts!  And Cara was great too except for what she did at the airport.....I felt that wasn't like her and although that was quickly rectified by the "incident".  As a reader, I felt all the drama at the end was a bit too contrived.  Also there some inconsistencies.......nothing that detracts from the story but just details.  For example the chapter started in one place but as we read into the chapter, we find out they are elsewhere.  The inconsistencies just needed a bit of tightening.  Finally, I loved the epilogue!  I will definitely be picking up more of Ms. Reiss' books.

This is the first book in this series by this author. This book will have you swooning over the male characters from the start. This is a sweet, funny, sexy romance story. I just couldn't put it down till I'd finished it. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

I have yet to find a C.D. Reiss book I didn't love and Bombshell is not exception. I have to admit, while I don't read romance novels with movie stare male leads all that often, I have a bit of a soft spot for them so was very excited to jump into this story.

Brad Sinclair is a Hollywood bad boy who is used to getting anything he wants. He lives a fun-filled and virtually carefree life until he finds out he has a five year old daughter from a past relationship (one that he barely remembers). Now he is forced to become a dad and clean up his act. He knows nothing about raising a daughter and knows he needs to find a nanny to help him navigate what is bound to be a difficult and life altering new adventure.

Cara is a great nanny, but is not a fan of celebrity fathers. It's one of her rules and she especially wants nothing to do with a single dad who has the kind of good looks that will be haunting her dreams. After meeting Brad, Cara knows this assignment will be nothing, but trouble. In no time at all, Nicole is stealing her heart and Brad is making her rethink her rules. Afterall, maybe even Hollywood bad boys deserve a chance to change their ways.

This book was so much fun! I just loved Cara. She was the kind of female lead that just oozed personality. Add Brad to the picture and their relationship was entertaining, fun and incredibly hot. Also, it managed to be extremely believable. I was invested in their friendship and eventual romance and the secondary characters just added to the appeal. Personally I think the star of this story was Nicole, Brad's daughter. She was so adorable and had so much spunk! I adored her!

BOMBSHELL.IS.EVERYTHING. Hold ON to your hats people, while I gush over just how much I loved this book.

First off, NICOLE. Sweet, sweet, Nicole. This poor little girl has been through so much in her short life. She's resilient, tough, and has the cutest little personality ever. Thrust into her father, Brad's, arms and also, into the spotlight, her life changes overnight. Cara accidentally stumbles onto a situation, and its love at first sight. For both Cara and Nicole.

Cara is a wonderful woman. She's just trying to fly under the radar and do what she loves, spend time with, and shape the minds of children. She is steady, a rock. She's skirted past the dark underbelly of her profession, and its kept at the front of her thoughts. Then she ends up the nanny for Hollywood's IT boy's daughter, and the promises she made to herself become so hard to keep.

Brad. Holy.Hotness.Brad. I'd like to take a moment to thank Ms. Reiss for the sexy, single dad, Brad Sinclair. Brad, the dirty talking king and the sweet dad to Nicole. I loved his character. He had so many layers, so many secrets. I loved learning more about him, and watching him court Cara.

BOMBSHELL is most likely going to be on my Top of 2017 list. I got lost in the words of C.D. Reiss. Its so different from her other works, but it still has the complex characters, addicting storyline, and the tone only she can create. It's on the safer side and I would recommend this to every romance reader. It's simply magnificent.

I expected Bombshell to be more of a light and fluffy "nanny romance," but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is a complex and layered love story that vibrates with emotion and holds the reader captivated. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 

Uber-famous actor Brad Sinclair is suddenly and unexpectedly a single father of a five year old daughter, Nicole, that he never knew existed until her mother passed away and the authorities tracked down Brad. He’s way out of his comfort zone and needs a nanny asap. When he meets Cara DuMont through a nanny agency, he knows no one else will do. 

Cara wants nothing to do with the hard-parting playboy, because she doesn’t want to work for someone famous or infamous. Unfortunately for her, Brad has sway in this town, and she ends up without a choice but to become Nicole's nanny.

Brad is immediately attracted to Cara and she is to him as well, but she refuses to get involved with her boss for fear she'll end up on the covers of tabloids and unemployable. Obviously (this is a romance!) she can't resist him forever, but she realizes that she doesn't just desire Brad—she has begun to like him as a person and see him as more than just a famous, handsome movie star. He's struggling with his sudden plunge into fatherhood, and Cara becomes his rock as he grapples with all the overwhelming changes in his life.

Bombshell is sexy but with a lot of heart and romance. Both Brad and Cara have emotional baggage that they need to work through, and they are relatable in their struggle to tackle their issues. Bombshell is CD Reiss' latest release.  Though it's a spinoff of Shuttergirl, it reads as a complete standalone.  I read it that way and it's great by itself.  I may go back and read Shuttergirl, however.

Brad is Hollywood's leading man, he's in demand and has no time for anything aside from what's on his schedule.  He works hard and parties harder.  His five-year-old daughter comes to live with him after the death of her mother, but he didn't even know he had a daughter in the first place!  Bombshell.

Cara is Hollywood's leading nanny.  She's in demand by clients and does her job to it's utmost potential.  She's got two rules: don't fall for the kids and don't fall for the dad.  With Brad's charm, it's kind of hard not to, and Nicole is a little spitfire that you can't help but fall in love with.  It must be the Sinclair way.

As I read this book, I found myself asking "why haven't I read more from CD Reiss?"  Honestly!  This book was fun and angsty and super hot.  The banter between Brad and Cara was great because she doesn't take his crap and he hands her a lot of it.  Nicole's little dialogue is great as well.  My only downside to it is that Brad really was a jerk.  I know this whole new life was dropped on him, but he needed to grow up sooner than later.  That's it.  That's all I've got.  I look forward to more from CD Reiss in this Hollywood world for sure.

Wow. Simply wow.

I read Shuttergirl and had this obsession with Brad Sinclair. I really wanted to know who he was. He seemed like a good friend to Michael, yet, he seemed like he would be one of those guys who is a total dick. A playboy. A guy who got whatever he wanted and didn’t give a shit about anything.

Well, I finally got my story and damn it, if I didn’t fall in love with Brad Sinclair.

Brad Sinclair, Oscar nominated movie star was just enjoying life. Gorgeous, fun loving and now a single dad who is learning to deal with a daughter he knew nothing about. Nicole was thrust in his lap after the death of her mother. It was refreshing to hear Brad admit he had no idea what to do with her. He desperately thought both his old lifestyle and this new one, which included a five-year-old girl, could coincide.

“I was going to have to fake it until I made it. Act like I thought dads should act.”

Cara DuMont has worked as a nanny for years. She is down to earth and has no qualms about telling it like it is and plans to help with the transition Brad and Nicole will have to face. However, Cara’s desire for Brad was something unexpected. However bad she wanted him, she also didn’t want to destroy her reputation as she watched her friend, Blakely, do with one of her former employers. She took her job VERY seriously and would walk away if needed. But she couldn’t.

Something about Brad, and his daughter Nicole, just drew Cara in from the start and she was absolutely fooling herself if she thought that she could not be affected by the both of them.

The sexual frustration and attraction was almost instantaneous. Neither Cara nor Brad had any intention of letting it become anything more than a professional employer/employee relationship. But I’m so glad it did.

I love the fact that I got just about half way through the book before anything happened. It was a slow build up from the first-time Cara and Brad looked at each other just coming out of that bathroom with his daughter until when they finally succumb to their desire for each other.

There were so many unexpected moments, so many things I never thought were even possible in this book. At times, I was laughing at the banter between the two and the theatrics of a five-year-old little girl. The next moment, I was enjoying the dirty sex and then the world completely turned on its axis and the drama began. And by god, I never expected what I read. Not in a million years.

“There’s no one else I want to be better for. It’s you. I’m going to be better for you, and if you leave I’m afraid I’ll never have a reason to stop being a fuckup.”

The connection between Brad and Cara was so much more than a physical one, it became emotional as they connected over the love for a little girl. Absolutely brilliant.

All in all, to me this story is about growing up. Coming to terms with life and not running away but dealing with what is thrown your way head on. Making mistakes is part of life but you have to learn from them too.

They had an attraction for the moment they locked eyes that first time they met. They tried to keep it professional, but...when two attractive peeps find each other...NOTHING can stop them!

Well CD Reiss has done it again. This book is absolutely awesome. From start to finish this was delivered with heartfelt frills, hot as sin characters and what matters most when it comes to the tales of the heart.... family. 

I loved every moment, every heartbreak , every struggle that these main characters were going through. Their choices felt like my own choices, when they hurt , I hurt. Every page was just stamped out with utter brilliance. 

I certainly never wanted the story to end because seriously Brad Sinclair is definitely one of the hottest single dads I've read in awhile. His chemistry with Cara is just mind blowingly perfect. There is no sugar coating and fluffing their feelings, they just fit perfectly even with their inner demons and outer influences trying to stop them from connecting as one. 

All in all, the plot was a well thought out process. I didn't feel rushed reading through the characters layers and it definitely flows when you have an all consuming chemistry between the two main characters that leaves you breathless and safe. 

This definitely deserves 5 stars. Well done CD Reiss.

Who would have thought that the word bombshell would refer to a pretty, five-year-old cutie-pie, both as a nickname and a surprising discovery. In C.D. Reiss's latest book Bombshell, both definitions apply while a few other aha moments are uncovered along the way. This entertaining romance is the first in the author's brand new series Hollywood A-List, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Cara DuMont loves being a nanny. She never has any trouble getting placed because her child rearing methods are full-proof as well as kind. She enjoys living in the Los Angeles area, where there never seems to be a shortage of wealthy families needing childcare. The paparazzi are everywhere, and they love to romantically link the male, a-list celebrity to the childcare provider. As a result, Cara prefers to be employed by the less famous, so that her anonymity and reputation remain intact. Due to circumstances beyond her control, she ends up nannying for Brad Sinclair, the current Hollywood hottie and Oscar nominee.

Brad just found out that he is the father to Nicole, an adorable and well-spoken five-year-old little girl. He has to find a nanny quickly, because he is single, has no childcare experience, and his work schedule keeps him busy all 24/7. Cara comes along at just the right time, but makes it perfectly clear to Brad that she is only a 30-day fix. She has no desire to work for the talented heartthrob long-term.

Cara's experience and warmth is what brings Brad and Nicole together. Simultaneously, Cara and Brad fall for each other.  They are forming a real family, even with the paparazzi breathing down their necks, and Brad's revelations about his past.

This is a well-written book with interesting characters, a little danger, and a sexy couple that is hot both in and out of the bedroom. Cara and Brad are smart, easy to identify with, and their connection is sizzling. Nicole is cute as a button and some of her comments are quite comical. The secondary characters are interesting and they add a lot of personality to the plot.  Overall, this is a terrific book and I am looking forward to reading more from this series.

Refreshingly unique single father / nanny-employee opposites attract romance with an emotional undertone!

I’m a complete sucker for single dad romances so I was eagerly anticipating Bombshell which did not let me down with this refreshingly unique nanny-employee romance! Bombshell is full of humour, heartfelt emotion, sensuality and some serious cuteness that makes it easily one of my favourite reads of 2017 so far! 

Told from dual perspective, there is a serious connection and attraction between Hollywood player Brad and his daughter’s strictly business nanny Cara, despite their rocky relationship of differing opinions. However, what can’t be ignore is Brad’s adorable daughter, Nicole, who plays a pivotal role in developing and rounding the two characters further as the three bond and figure out how to face up to the realities of hidden fears and secrets that both Brad and Cara try to avoid looking too closely at, although for very different reasons. I’ll admit, while I loved the book, both characters have odd moments where you get a little frustrated, Brad in particular as this single playboy dad tackles his hardest role yet. Yet, while you get frustrated (always a great thing when an author can evoke those feelings in a reader), both have a real likability that keeps you flicking those pages as things sizzle to scorching hot! 

Bombshell is a stunning and realistically raw telling of how sometimes things can’t easily just fall into place and be swept under a rug to get a happily-ever-after. Through the steady pacing, the author beautifully captured the range of emotions and internal warring of both characters as the book evolved, giving a real and flawed perspective of these two opposites. 

Finally, while the book is a spin-off with characters from another book by the author, do not be put off as I personally haven’t read Shutter Girl and followed this standalone read with no problems. 

Highly recommend to anyone who loves a single father romance, a Hollywood romance, or even just contemporary romance in general because this book ticks all boxes!

What a crazy ride! You know those books that start off in crazy town and you wonder what the heck you are reading? The more you read, the more you're thinking to yourself that maybe this just isn't the story for me. Yet I just can't stop reading it, I gotta see where this is going. It always amazes me how an author can turn a book around. It's happened before, yet it still shocks me when it happens again. This is one of those books! It's the reason I try not to give up on them. I absolutely loved how C.D. Reiss turned this around for me. By the end of the book she got me hook, line and sinker. 

The book started out with crazy behavior by spoiled, entitled actors and one sane nanny.  I wasn't much of a fan of Brad until almost the end of the book.  Coming from a small town with normal folks, I was surprised by his behavior until things started to finally get real.  I finally started to relate to him when he started to grow as a father and that's when the author had me.  The end was beautiful and I loved the epilogue!

This book was like a Bombshell to my heart!

At times it was a feel good, make you smile, loving every moment story. Other times it was a break your heart, tear it out of your chest and stomp on it, no way this will ever work kind of tale that makes you think it's hopeless.

Let's start with my fave character, and the MOST important, little Nicole. That sweet but sassy girl. Typical five year old, totally stole my heart and I imagine any one else's who reads this. Then there's Cara, who has spent her whole career avoiding scandal and has done well at it. Brad, who was a playboy bachelor and made decisions at times that made me cringe. And Paula, his assistant, who I disliked from the first time she opened her mouth.

I highly recommend this book. It has sexiness- the dirty talk is GOOD! It has surprises that I did NOT see coming at ALL. It has a moment later in the book that made me laugh so hard I got stares from the family. Most of all it has heart, and a FANTASTIC ending.

This book was very enjoyable! The world of celebrity nannies is probably not that explored much in contemporary romance but Ms. Reiss take on this was quite entertaining, enlightening and a really unique twist on the boss and employee romance.  The character of Brad Sinclair (an offshoot character from the book Shuttergirl) was a very honest male lead.  He apologizes for nothing because he has a goal and to suddenly become a single father while his career was on a meteoric rise is definitely a great conflict.  The opening was also a great way to introduce Cara Dumont, a nanny audition gone ballistic because the star of the show lost it!  The star happens to be the titular character of Nicole Garcia-Sinclair, five year old progeny of superstar Brad aka Bombshell.  The way Cara was suddenly the cool heroine,, calm, collected and in charge while in the midst of a crying child doing a number two literally exploded.  Bombshell was cheeky, fun, very erotic and clearly also an honest look on how relationships on a basic level needs to work to succeed.  Cara and Brad's own personal back stories clearly shape who they are and is also a nice foil for their fantastic HEA.

I'm one of those people who is picky about Hollywood themed romances but you know that hint of forbidden plus single dad and nanny trope. I have to say this was an exceptionally good. The author definitely puts a new spin on that theme, nothing simple about this one, I like to think of it as Nanny Diaries meets America's Sweethearts with a little something else. Not usually fluffy here and I liked that, this showed the grittier side to fancy highbrow lifestyle. Brad Sinclair was not what I thought he would be in single dad at first but that just made him more interesting.

I was engrossed straight away I found Cara had a magnetic personality and way of thinking. A perfect nanny type, pleasant, caring and hardworking. Then you meet the little girl Nicole, can't help but love that kid, which you have to feel for her at that age suddenly her whole life changed. Granted Brad's life too he is thrust into a new role one that's for real. Cara was adamantly opposed to actor clients especially dads but she takes one look at that little girl and fell in love. The fancy parental scene can be brutal though including the nannies they hired. Everyone is aware of all the scandals and gossip mill lately so succumbing to Brad's charms is a big no no. 

Underneath the bright light and cameras, gossip mills and paparazzi, nannies and agents blossomed a relationship. Cara and Brad have so much tension and desire plus that chemistry. But there are other factors in this equation. Number one being the professionalism. What a pickle the once player and party going carefree boss now trying his best to fill in the role of a dad one Cara refused to think about this is getting harder to deny. I can understand how Brad was like a fish out of water at first, the whole situation is a learning curve. Can't help but like his determination and his authenticity. Cara wants stability something Brad doesn't know he needs, his daughter too. It's going to hard to juggle everything

Cara is apprehensive and scared. Will Brad figure out how to keep her with them manage parenthood and his career? Having a little fun is one thing but can a serious relationship be managed with the trapping of fame? Oh and the little girl beside all that. Grab some popcorn, drink and comfy seat and get ready for the show.

To be honest, CD Reiss writing style is pretty unique. While I like it I can see how some people have said they had trouble. I like her direct and straight forward style though it makes things feel factual and real. I felt like this was actual everyday celebrity life of the rich and famous in LaLa land. I'm curious on who the next will be about the behind the scenes is quite entertaining.

Cara and Brad's extremely slow burn was worth every single second of the wait. Her reluctance, his persistence, and the absolute cuteness of Nicole were so well done. So. Well. Written. 

I loved the pacing of this story. So much so that I stayed up until 3am to finish this book. I didn't realize it was that late, but I could NOT stop reading. I read until the very end. I loved how they all came together, how all the drama played out, and I loved the epilogue. 

Absolutely one of the best books for 2017 for this reader. Hands down.

This was my first CD Reiss book and I enjoyed it. 
I felt the story went along nicely and was for the most part an easy enjoyable read. Brad, the movie star rode the fence for me. I was not sure I liked him or I hated him, he never grew on me. The distance he kept from his daughter was not flattering . But getting her just dropped into his lap after 6 years would can make one a little freaked out. I didn't like that he never addressed the way his assistant and PR people called her "The Bombshell." I get it, its the title, but that would last about 3 or 4 times with me. Also, to me "The Bombshell" was the fact that his team knew about the child from the beginning and basically hid it from Brad. Where Brad did get to my heart was when it was revealed he suffered from dyslexia. It tugged on my heart that he was so proud of his daughter for her ability to read at age 6. I LOVED that actually. 
Cara, I liked her. She was so good with  Nichole and with Brad she was trying to keep him on track, that was her job as nanny. Cara, was not boring, but not that exciting either. I wanted more from her past, we get glimpses and there are some whopper reveals but I wanted more from her. 
NOW Nichole, she is EVERYTHING. She is a smart little girl and I could totally see this little girl played out on pages . She was sassy without being a brat. She was smart, but a believable sort of smart. She just wanted to be loved and she so deserved it. Bravo on writing a brilliant character.
