My usual "go to" is along the lines of epic fantasy, dystopian, or fairytale twists. This was as if all of those came together and birthed a super child! The Characters were not only well developed but believable and admiring! Although the first bit was on the slow side I recommend powering through it because once you do and it starts picking up you are hooked. It is definitely not an instant satisfaction book you have to work for it. Every detail is complete and you can build a replica of the world in your minds eye while you follow the characters through the story. I honestly loved it and was so glad I did not put it down
