I had great hopes for this book, the description of arriving on the cruise ship and the things that happened were spot on from my experiences of cruise ships. The excursion details were accurate. The. Children going missing was well explained but then things started to go awry to me. There were descriptions of another family which had no relevance to the story as far as I read it. Once the children had disappeared a buried body on the beach was introduced which had a relevance to the kidnappers of the children but the body being found seemed quite sudden and too much of a coincidence. I was also sceptical that two mother's would go to sleep when their children were in the sea, all things apart when I went on a cruise excursion I would not have slept as I would have been scared the ship would leave without me and I don't have young children to consider, so sorry, I stopped reading the this point.

Gripping from beginning to end. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

I loved the thought of the plot and what a unique spin on a child disappearance. I felt it would add a uniqueness and can see this being a popular title this summer as a beach read.
However for me the characterisation was just too weak. The author just tells you about the individual characters in lists rather than describing them. I found this very tiring very early on and became disinterested.
I shall not review on my blog or social media feeds. I wish the author well with release upon publication of this novel.

Yikes! I love cruising but this certainly made me think about the way that we just take for granted that excursions booked are perfectly safe. The parents in this book were in a traumatic situation and the emotions and concerns were well described. |This was an unusual book and I really enjoyed it. Recommended.

This book seemed to split into three parts. The first quarter was really the intro, explaining who they all were and why they were there. This seemed a little drawn out.
The middle section was very dramatic. The five children were a bit like a 21st century Famous Five, but instead of unusual lights on the beach they had to contend with drug barons, people smugglers, murder, rape, severe illnesses etc. As I say, very dramatic!
The last quarter drew everything together. It was good to find out what happened to everyone, and this did not seem contrived or rushed in any way.
I found the psychological effects on the families more interesting than the adventures of the children, and would have preferred more of this, but nevertheless an exciting read.
