A cute story about a very spoilt little dog. I wasn't really a fan--I would certainly not want my children thinking that this was a normal way to treat a dog. I do understand the meaning behind it, but I'm not certain a child would. Lovely cause you are raising funds for & wish you the best~

A cute and colourful book with a strong message. However I felt it was incomplete. What happened about the girl who was to be adopted. I expected a proper end after the letter....

This is the first book in the BabyDoll Adventures, following the life of the Maltese dog. The book is based on real events, and BabyDoll and her owners are real, though BabyDoll has since passed away. This book is about sharing her memorable life story, and making sure that her spirit lives on.

The story is well detailed, beautifully told and has wondrous illustrations by Cheryl Orsini. It teaches children all about compassion and what happens when you care for something, or someone, and how much happier you can make their life.

A lovely short book that I think will become a firm favourite amongst little children, and quite possibly their parents/guardians too.

Meh: I feel like it is kind of forgettable.

I found this book to be a little bizarre. It is based on real-life couple the Pliners, luxury footwear designers, and their Maltese puppy, Babydoll (who has since passed away). It is the first in a series, I believe, and details the little life of luxury a puppy is introduced to when he is adopted by his new owners.

Babydoll is, what I call, a "handbag dog". He is soon spoiled, fed "real people food", gets his hair done and even walks the red carpet (what?). I live in the countryside in Ireland and our dog is a very vivacious Irish Red Setter, who loves the outdoors. I simply don't identify with pet owners like those depicted in this novel so just can't relate to the story. I completely understand how some people would, however.

I also don't think this is a very fitting story for children outside of New York City or downtown L.A.: dogs should not eat "real people food" and, in my opinion, should not have their tails dyed pink! I don't believe there are any life lessons in this book for children to learn and the ending is so abrupt. The topic of adoption is raised or briefly mentioned (I am not sure if the Pliners really did adopt a baby girl) and then the book ends. This is, perhaps, a way of making us want to seek out the next in the series of this book, but it just left me baffled. I won't be reading any future releases in the Babydoll series. I found this book to be very shallow and slightly pointless.

How adorable was this story!!!! I love how the puppy can be compared to a little girl or boy who is expecting a new brother or sister. This is such a sweet story! Perfect for an expecting family!

I thought this book was appealing and had a great message to spread about the importance of having a loving family and how "family" is not only those we are related to by blood, or even by species. However, I cannot recommend this title for purchase for our public library which is located in a small suburb outside of Chicago for the following reasons.

While adopting an animal in need of a home is noble, the home life depicted in this story is not familiar to our patrons who lead far less glamorous lives. Jetting a dog off to Paris for a red carpet event after feeding her at her own place at the dinner table is not behavior our patrons typically exhibit. Our patrons like to see themselves in the stories they read, and this one, while noble in its telling and its ultimate cause, fails to relate to this area"s wider, common audience.

"A puppy's dream comes true" is a story with hidden message. Story is based on puppy's life. How a puppy's life changed after adoption. He was adopted by a caring couple who took care of puppy very well. They provided and guided him proper environment.

Though written with puppy's life, indirect message was given for betterment of child upbringing.

Book provide good pictures and story to kids ; and at same time give deep message to parents.

Published for a non-profit cause and winsomly illustrated, here is sweet story of a dog that gets adopted by a loving couple. In the end, the puppy finds out he is getting a baby "sister" when the adoption agency calls with good news. Is this the puppy's dream or the adoptive parents' dream?

Since today was National Puppy Day my daughter insisted we read something that was dog centered so I was very happy to find this. We read it together and I really loved it. We adopted 2 dogs not that long ago so it made her feel even more connected and happy about the adoption as she could now imagine it from the dog's point of view. Our dogs also are very spoiled but they don't eat at the table; though if my daughter now has their way I'll have to set 2 extra plates! I felt the author did a wonderful job personifying the experience from an animal's point of view, making adoption seem so incredibly important and creating an overall beautifully heartwarming story. I can't wait for more by her so my daughter and I can enjoy further stories together.

An adorable story about a maltese puppy who gets adopted by a wonderful family. They name their new puppy, Babydoll. My daughter loved this story and the adventures Babydoll had exploring the house, going on outings, We enjoyed this little puppy dog adventure story and the surprise ending!
