The book has an odd relationship to action. Rather than having the reader experience certain events with the characters, the characters often explain what they have experienced. This is the most jarring at the very beginning of the book; if the scene had started even 15 minutes or so sooner, the reader would have had a better chance to feel Julienne's terror and would have had a better understanding of why she and Morgan were in that old temple to begin with. (Of course this is book 3 in a series, so I suppose some odd timelines are to be expected.)
For the most part, I enjoyed Morgan and Julienne's relationship. Their interactions could have very easily slid into immaturity, but they had very realistic conversations.
