I loved this story! Lori Foster is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. I can always count on Foster to give me a great romantic read with the perfect balance of swoon-worthy romance and sexual heat. In Worth the Wait Foster gives us not one but two love stories. I loved Violet and Hogan together. I think the two are perfectly matched as are Nathan and Brooklyn. The Guthrie Brothers has been such a fun series to read. I'm hoping that Colt will get his own book soon. I want more please!

Lori Foster delivers three romances in Worth The Wait making it an extremely entertaining book. While there was definitely more time spent on one couple, the love matches were quite entertaining. Most of all I love the sense of community in this series; the friendships, the nosey neighbors, and they way they help each other through lives trials and tribulations.
Hogan Guthrie’s life was turned upside down when he found out his wife was cheating, she cleaned out his bank accounts including their son’s college fund, and then died in a car accident forcing him and his teenage son to move to Ohio and live with his brother. With a job at a small accounting firm and working part time at Screwy Louie’s on the weekend cooking up his famous ribs, Hogan is working on getting his life back together. He’ll be the first to admit he isn’t proud of his actions over the last few months, but he can’t change the past and all he plans to do is go forward and pursue the woman that intrigues him, but Violet his “boss” at Screwy Louie’s wants nothing to do with him and his player reputation. Violet was such a strong female character and I loved that she was self reliant and self sufficient, and it took an illness to make her slow down and an even stronger man to help her through it all. I loved the chemistry between Hogan and Violet, but what I loved more is the respect he had for her and the fact that Violet began to see Hogan’s true self; smart, funny, and a dedicated father. I also enjoyed the bond Violet began forming with Hogan’s 18 year old son, Colt; they both had great admiration and respect for one another. Hogan’s inability to commit and Violet’s refusal to settle for anything less proves to be a bit of a roadblock, but between the town’s gossip column and watching their friends fall in love it’s hard to ignore what’s going on between them.
Ex-SWAT team member and now Sherriff Nathan Hawley takes his job, so when he sees he has a new next door neighbor he plans to get to know her, but Brooklin Sweet has secrets and she doesn’t think she can trust anyone even if the man pursuing her is the town’s sheriff. I loved the way Brooklin made Nathan work to know her even though she was intrigued by him. Their relationship was sweet, but intense and a lovely bonus in this book.
There’s nothing quite like the rush of new love, so it was fun watching Colt realize that between jobs and school, the right girl was worth making time for and new girl in town, Charish, proves to be just what he wants. I really love we get to revisit the couple a few years down the road when the time is right for them.
Watching these three couples find love was fun and enjoyable, but what I really loved was the crazy camaraderie of the Screwy Louie’s crowd. Lori Foster offers up another exciting contemporary romance in Worth The Wait.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend to everyone.

This is another great book by Lori Foster! Worth the Wait is the second book in the Guthrie Brothers series. Hogan Guthrie is a single dad who is trying to get back into the swing of life, he ends up taking his son and moving in with his brother. He is working as a BBQ master with Violet, the owner of the restaurant, and those two really have some hot chemistry! After being hurt by his late wife, Hogan is reluctant to move on, but can when he has with Violet be the real thing?
Nathan is the town sheriff and is falling hard for his new neighbor, Brooklin, a very quiet and shy new girl in town. Nathan tries to get closer and peruses her, but Brooklin seems to be hiding something. When her past come back to haunt her, Nathan does all he can to protect her, but can he get past her walls she has built and show her his is worth taking chance on.
This was a great book, it was fun to go back and get updates on past characters in the first book. Worth the Wait was a fun and quick read, I would recommend this to anyone who loves a great happy ending romance.

Hogan is trying to overcome a difficult past and become a good role model for his son. He works part time at Violet's Diner and boy do these 2 have some chemistry. He doesn't want to commit but he does want Violet. Nathan and Brooklyn are neighbors and he's instantly taken and intrigued by her. She has some secrets she's run from and tried to start over. There's some mystery in this book and figuring it out brings both these couples together to figure out what's going on and why they are in danger. Another great Lori Foster story!! I voluntarily read an ARC from the author for an honest review.

I will admit that the ending of this book made it passable for me. There was nothing new or innovative about this book and it felt like it dragged on more than any romance novel should.

I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lori Foster! Worth the Wait is definitely worth the wait. Hogan Guthrie has been to hell and back. He is just getting his life back on track after his former wife's ultimate betrayal. Hogan is an accountant and the barbecue master at Violet Shaw's diner. Violet is a strong, independent and intelligent woman. Hogan and Violet are attracted to each other and have undeniable chemistry. Hogan vows never to let any woman have any kind of power over him, and Violet doesn't think Hogan can reform from his playboy ways. Can Hogan learn to trust in love again? Can Violet give up some of her independence and learn that she can depend on other people?
Nathan Hawley is a former SWAT member and now sheriff. Nathan is intrigued by his new sexy neighbor, Brooklin Sweet. He know Brooklin is hiding from something or someone. Brooklin just wants to be left alone and doesn't need her hot neighbor causing any distractions. Nathan knows he must be patient with Brooklin, or he will scare her away. Can Nathan break down Brooklin's walls? Will Brooklin trust Nathan with her past?
Worth the Wait is amazing! Love the telling of this story from different points of view. Enjoyed the interaction between all the characters and secondary characters from the first book. This book is sweet and full of heat. Worth the Wait is a great romance with lots of humor. Lori Foster makes me laugh out loud when reading her books. Great read and highly recommend!

4.5 Stars
Witty, sexy, sassy romp, with a bit of suspenseful drama thrown in. "Worth The Wait" was just that and more.
We got a chance to get a feel for Hogan Guthrie in Don't Temp Me the first book about the Guthries'. Hogan and his son Colt went through a rough time, both are working part time at Screwy Louie's, Hogan being the Master of his BBQ ribs. What is in that secret sauce? Then we have Violet the owner of Screwy Louie's, and the star of Hogan's lustful thoughts. These two dance around each other, but when they get on the same page, it's like the 4th of July. Colt melted my heart too!
So many favorite scenes like...........nope, no spoilers here, you'll have to read it yourself.
There is a secondary story with Nathan the ex-SWAT turned small town Sheriff and Brooklin his mysterious next door neighbor.
It takes a special talent to weave two great stories and not get lost with all the characters from the present and previous book. Ms. Foster does a fantastic job making the story flow seamlessly. Another winner! Save a Horse Ride A Cowboy....love it!

Colt is the star of this book, hands down. But I also loved his dad, Violet, Nathan, and Brookline. Two great stories in one book. The mystery was easy to figure out but it didn’t make the story any less interesting.

If you haven't read any of Lori's books you don't know what you are missing! Good time to start now!

Sexy. Sweet. Unforgettable. I love this author and the stories she writes. Great chemistry. Undeniable attraction. Smoldering tension. Characters that make you feel everything. Highly recommended this book y'all!

I enjoyed this book. It pulled you right in and kept you turning the pages. This book was well written and I had no issues following the story. It tied into the other books in the series well.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Hogan Guthrie is slowly rebuilding his life after the death of his wife. After losing his wife he discovered she has taken all of their son Colt’s college fund.
Finally finding a good job and trying hard to save enough for Colt's college, Hogan starts to grill ribs for Violet at her diner. These two have incredible chemistry but Hogan doesn't want to get involved. Violet is a hard woman to ignore and soon Hogan realizes this. Lori Foster does it again. Can't wait for her next book!!

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Hmmm. I'm still on the fence about how I feel about this one. On the one hand, Foster created this great little community where everyone cares about each other, but on the other, the fact that Hogan couldn't figure out what he wanted threw me off. He starts off very into Violet, but then as soon as she gets interested, he backs off. I get that he's skittish after his past, but the back and forth was making my head spin. It also was making a little angry that Violet, who was so independent, was waiting for him.
That said, I had a lot more fun reading about the other relationships - Nathan and Brooklin and even Colt and Charish. All of the characters were well thought out and I found myself rooting for all of them.
All in all, a decent read, but not quite what I'd become used to with Foster's other work. It did have a touch of suspense and a dash of heat to keep things interesting, but it felt a little long.

Worth The Wait was my first Lori Foster story--and it will not be my last!
Sexy and heartwarming along with a dash of suspense, both the primary and secondary stories in this book were page turners, I didn't want to put it down!

I can ALWAYS count on a good read when it comes to books by Lori Foster. This was an excellent book. Don't start it until you can read it all at once because you will not want to put it down.
This is a sequel to Don't tempt me. Hogan is working 2 jobs trying to make up for the money his x-wife took. Violet is his boss at the second job, Hogan is so thankful that his son Hogan is such a good kid.
Nathan like his new neighbor and is trying is hard to her her to like him. But Brooklin is keeping secrets.
Read this book, You will be so very glad you did.
Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin for allowing me to read this title for an honest review

I did not like this book. I did like having two stories in one. But neither story was particularly good. For such a quick read romance, there were far too many points of view. It's just not that complex a story. The characters were superficial and stereotypical. Violet has so much pride in her restaurant, but she's just going to let Hogan in, like that? Not believable, especially with her character's personality. And it seems silly that he's going to give up his admittedly lame job to cook ribs.

With that super sweet small town fun and shenanigan feel, this was another winner from Lori Foster as we headed back to Clearbrook to see the second Guthrie brother, Hogan, fall in love! And like her previous book, it’s two-for-one with a second love story for our town sheriff, Nathan!
So our ‘main couple’ is Hogan and Violet. I seriously loved their chemistry, especially at the beginning of the story! Such delicious tension as they tried to fight the obvious chemistry between them. The Screwy Louie’s restaurant was the perfect setting to see the sparks fly not only romantically, but how well they fit each other in other aspects of life. It was nice to see a little more of both Hogan’s and Violet’s past, too.
The secondary couple is our “gorgeous ‘man of the law'” Sheriff Nathan Hawley and his new but slightly standoff-ish neighbour Brooklin Sweet. I found them to be a little bit insta-attraction, but still a super cute couple. Their story is laced a little bit of suspense to keep up on our toes!
And it’s not a sweet small-town romance with out the town! I loved playing catch-up with the whole town, including Jason and Honor and especially Hogan’s eighteen year old son, Colt! He gets a little storyline of his own and he’s just so sweet, I was definitely rooting for him the whole way (and hopefully maybe he’ll get his own story!). And the Dear Advice Anonymous column in the local paper definitely brought a lot laughs!
Overall, Worth the Wait was a sweet, fun and delightful read! It’s a book filled with great relationships and interactions, from romantic ones, to friendships, to father and son that you can easily fall in love with. There’s never a dull moment at Screwy Louis’!

Hogan is the master at the grill with an obvious attraction for his boss Violet Shaw. When Violet got sick Hogan was there to help her out and work on making her restaurant better then ever and with the more time spent with each other things start to heat up. Meanwhile Nathan is a ex swat team member now working as a sheriff and he seems to have his eye on his new neighbor Brooklin. Brooklin got a past and doesn't want to drag Nathan into it but he seems to be the stubborn type popping up around the place. Things get even more complicated when it seems like someone keeps trying to enter her house and Nathan is now on a mission to find out who that intruder is.
This book was pretty complex maybe a bit too complex for me. There is the one main story between Hogan and Violet, then there is the side story of Nathan and Brooklin, but then theres that POV Hogans son Colt and what he's going through. As great as each story was I would've preferred Hogan and Violets story separate and have Colts as the short side story since things were somewhat sweet and uncomplicated. Nathan and Brooklins story would've been better appreciated as a stand alone besides this story. I had a hard time keeping up with the stories and mixed them up plenty of times. So if I had to rate this book it would've been a five star book but with too much going on and spending a lot of time in confusing brought it down to a 4 star book for me. This book was pretty great though, I loved each and every character that was introduced and getting to know their life stories and it was pretty great. The story lines were interesting. I loved that there was that bit of mystery and suspense. I wasn't expecting that part. Overall it was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.
