Normally I am not a fan of romantic comedies or contemporary novels in genre but the premise of Let's Try this again really caught my eye. It was really funny without being cheesy and at times quite saucy. Josie was a very easy character to love because she honestly reminded me a lot of myself in that awkward, that's so me kind of way and I found I could relate to a lot of the situations she found herself in.

While there were some naughty moments in this book they weren't overdone, they were kept short and sweet and actually added something to the story which is something a lot of books in this genre fail to do. It isn't there for the sake of being there. It wasn't all laughs or sexual tension though, there were quite a few sweet, romantic moments between the characters that really make you root for them and I'd highly recommend this book to everyone who likes romantic comedies and even those that don't. This may just be the book to change your mind.

This was such a fluffy quick read and i loved it. I felt like it was a new adult retelling of Sex in the City. It was sexy, it was cute, it was fluffy and I loved the story line so so much. It is a definite must read for anyone that loves a good rom-com!

I'm unable to give a review as when I got this a short while later my kindle broke and I never got the chance to read/finish the book.

Apologies for not being able to review this book.

Hopefully I'll be able to go out and buy the book at a future date!

(I've given it 3 stars so it doesn't get marked down hopefully)

As funny as this book was, I was disappointed with how the book ended. But that's just my opinion.

Josie has been in love with Isaac since they started dating forever ago. Only he doesn't know how to have a relationship. So when he pushes her away for the third and final time, she decides that it is time to leave CT, and move to California. Nothing is holding her there anymore, other than her 2 best friends.

When Isaac comes crawling back to her once again, two months before she's planning her move; Josie knows that he wants something as usual; her back in his life. The shock is on him when she tells him about her upcoming move.

They agree to a no strings commitment for the last two months before she leaves. But this time Isaac is trying to win her back. Josie has the power here, she remains unaffected about their arrangement, and can tell he's not happy with her rebuffs. When he goes and tells her that he could "maybe" love her one day, she's had enough and ends things.

Her move to California was the best thing for her broken heart and career. Soon she finds herself a job as a PA to a former star of a teen band she used to worship, Carter. But, Josie's writing prowess and her voice make them a new sensation almost instantly.

Josie decides to take a chance on the new man who's in love with her. When she realizes that she has fallen in love with Carter, her world is so much better off. But when Isaac starts to declare his love for her, she can't bring herself to believe in him or trust him ever again.

When she has to decide which man to end things with, who will she choose?

I could not get into this book at all.
I keep trying, but it just did not pull me in.
It was kind of annoying how she kept getting pulled back in and how she kept debating on weather or not it was a smart move to make. She seemed weak and very wishy washy

Eine wunderschöne Liebesgeschichte für warme Sommertage. Ein angenehm flüssiger und leicht zu lesener Schreibstil, toll ausgearbeitete Charaktere und eine zuckersüße Geschichte!

Before the review: I'm sorry for the delay, but I couldn't open my Adobe Digital Editions for several days, so that's why I'm so late with the review...

I was expecting something funnier, sexier and messier (althought Josie is kind of a mess herself). Sometimes, there were too much "thinking" in the middle of a dialog, that I'd lose the thread of conversations. The language was fresh and easy-going, like if you're texting your friend (the first half of the book, in my opinion). It was a little complicated the "2 weeks, 1 month..." in the chapters, especially after she moved.
About the story itself, like I said, I was expecting something funnier or sexier. Sometimes I hated Issac and sometimes I loved him (when they had rough sex on the floor, for example). But then Carter came (what old is he? Fourty-something? Thirty-something? He was a star when Josie was a tween, so it was hard to figure out his age). The relationship with Carter was a bit odd. First, she was his PA (but never did anything), then she helps him compose and do the chorus, and... suddenly, she's singing with him and becoming a star. Wasn't he supose to "return" by himself? Without a band? It's not the same thing being a composer or doing the chorus for someone than being a duet.
Josie overthinks everything too much! She loved Isaac, he was a jerk, she hated him but she loved him (ugh!). Then she said she was in love with Carter, but I've never thought she was really in love with Carter, at least not as much as she was with Isaac.
P.S.: I liked the Leslie Knope reference (and Frozen!)

A light romantic comedy that was a fast read, I lost a bit of interest and wanted to yet all Josie a few times to grow up, but I'd recommend it if you're looking for something quick and light!

This was a really easy read but a very samey samey storyline. The writing style was too colloquial for my personal taste and the characters were quite predictable. Saying all that I did enjoy the book, it was just very generic and didn't stand out against the abundance of similar stories out there.

Romantic, quirky, light-hearted and a great portrait of real life and romance, Let's Try This Again is a wonderful piece of fiction written to, for, and about women.

I just couldn't connect with Josie's character at all & found myself skipping the early pages. I guess we've all been that person that lets a guy walk all over them but I felt that Josie needed to grow a backbone & get rid of Isaac. Josie's friends were fun both at home & in Cali & I wouldn't mind reading more about them

4.5 stars, and I'm bumping it up to 5 because I am totally blown away by this story, these characters and this author. This is the tale of all of us women and who we were (or are) in our early 20's. It is about falling in love with the wrong guy at the right time or falling in love with the right guy and the wrong time. It is about awkward, painful and full of stupidity life. I think without many exceptions, our main character, Josie, is a part of each of us. It is so real and honest and funny and ugly and painfully truthful. I didn't expect this story to be as emotional as it was for me - both with the laughs and the heartfelt (and heart-hurting) truths it contained.

A super fun, hilarious, sexy, and cozy romantic comedy that had great, lovable characters, a terrific storyline that was wholly entertaining, and wonderful banter! I enjoy a good romantic comedy but this one was extra special with all the music references and such. I loved watching the passion between the characters and how sexy and sweet the romance was. A definite MUST read!

I started this thinking it was a regular romance novel... and it's anything but a traditional romance. The main character is young -- early twenties -- and it helped me to remember that. Let's Try This Again is a book about a young woman developing her identity and the men that are part of that. It's roughly a novel about a woman torn between two men, but when I reflect on it, it seems more about a woman who is young and can't decide what she wants until she does. And then the book ends. There's not a truly happy, ride off into the sunset ending, and I didn't want one for Josie. That's more an observation about her age and immaturity than how much I liked the main character. I'm not sad I read it, it was an easy, quick read, but not really my preferred style of book.

Not my usual type of book, a good plot but hard to get into.

Not something I would EVER try to pick up again.

The plot wasn't bad, bearable, at times even readable.
However the characters were nutcases, hard to relate and understand and very, very easy to hate. Yes, HATE. The protagonist, Josie, through the entirety of the book although deeming it wrong kept slut-shaming and degrading other women. I mean, don't we have enough of that already in the real world, why must you add it in a fictional novel too?

“Let’s just say that if people found out she had a ‘Customer Parking Here’ tramp stamp tattoo, no one would be shocked.” - WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!

This is just one of the quotes someone generously uploaded on goodreads but the book is filled with scenes and lines like these which infuriated me to the extent that I actually wanted to dnf this book - something I never do.

Keeping all that aside, I finished it. I kept reading it and controlling the anger I felt bubbling inside me. But here's the thing: There was too much going wrong for this book.
It was unrealistic in so many aspects of it; Josie moving to the west and getting a job as a PA, just like that! WOW! So believable. Even though the author included sex in the book, at times it wasn't described, rather left to the reader's imagination by saying how good it was. Then why include it? You could've just written 'sex scene' and let the reader envisage what happened. The ending wasn't developed and could've been a whole lot better as well.

Overall, it was a disappointing, definitely worthy of a dnf read for me whereas I was hoping for a light-hearted romantic comedy.

Let's Try This Again was such a sweet book. The main character Josie, reminded me so much of a friend of mine, it was insane. Josie had an incredibly rough on and off again relationship with Issac. Issac.. well he's one of those guys that keeps you waiting on your toes. The guy who makes you walk on eggshells spread on a tightrope with a "maybe if you do this, I won't have to say "maybe" to you anymore and leave you hanging. Finally, Josie saw the light and actually told herself to stop walking on that tightrope. So she cut it and let herself swing into a new life, one across the country in California. It was amazing to see her going through this transformation of finding out what she wanted to do, and what she didn't want to do. She had some major bumps in her way, a guy that fell in love with her. A love without expectations or strings. And she found her voice at the end, she found out what she really wanted. All of the characters in this book were great, even Isaac. Carter was so great and I loved how he selflessly loved someone who wasn't quite sure of what kind of love she wanted. Molly and Ellie, Josie's best friends - the kind of friends every girl on the planet needs, were so hilyand just all around great. I really enjoyed this book, and am so happy to have had the opportunity to read it! I hope everyone loves it as much as I did.
