Rebel Custody is a lighter motorcycle club romance. It is not quite as erotic and dark as a lot of them, and it is a nice change of pace. Skeeter has just fond out he has a son that he never knew about, and he’s being blackmailed into paying to have custody of him. He seeks Miri—a straight-laced family law attorney—to help him. Miri has no love for outlaw motorcycle clubs, but she is instantly drawn to Skeeter - much to her surprise. She wants to help him, and she’s attracted to him. As they work to get Skeeter’s son back, the two become closer and cannot deny the sexual. Tension that has been building since they met. Skeeter can’t imagine that someone like Miri might be willing to be with him, but he seizes the opportunity when he gets the hint that she likes him. Skeeter sort of stole the show for me, because he was so sweet with his son. He is this rough biker with a soft heart. Rebel Custody has lawless, dirty bikers with a heartfelt love story making it a fun and sexy motorcycle club romance. |
'Rebel Custody' by Sarah Hawthorne is book Two in the "Demon Horde" series. This is the story of Miriam Englestein "Miri" and Jean Luc Devameaix "Skeeter". I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book. Skeeter up and left home around 19 years of age to join the military and never looked back. Now in the present day a person from his past comes forward to get money off of him for child support. It turns out that his old girlfriend had a baby and now she has past away a few years ago and the man that has been taking care of his son wants money for it. Skeeter goes to see the child and finds that it sure looks like him and he wants custody. Miri is referred to him as someone to help who could help get custody. Miri is a lawyer who is so different than what Skeeter is used to in women. They decided to pose has boyfriend and girlfriend to get to know the child. In addition, this will help them get information that may help their case. This was an exciting romance read! Jean Luc needs a lawyer. He just found out he has a son and wants to get sole custody of him. But Jean Luc, aka Skeeter, is in the Demon Hoard Motorcycle Club (MC) and it's tricky finding a lawyer who would understand the situation. Miriam is a family practice lawyer assigned to the case by her father, a defense attorney on retainer with the Demon Hoard MC. Opposites attract especially in Miri and Skeeter's case but their lifestyles are so different that they have to overcome a lot of obstacles. Good MC romance with lots of red hot moments. |

Awesome read. Not a down and dirty MC read but a great romance. The MC is more background than anything. It's very well done and I really enjoyed Jean Luc and Miri. Jean Luc aka Skeeter learns he has a son. Not that the boy's mother ever told him. He finds out when his son's stepfather tries to blackmail money out of Skeeter. Since the boy looks just like Skeeter he has no doubt the kid is his so he goes to see attorney Miriam Englestein to find out what his rights are. "Miri" is the daughter of the clubs attorney and she really wants nothing to do with the club but there is something about Jean Luc that she can't turn away. Definitely a book I would recommend. |
Much better then the first one. You can read this one without reading the first one and you will not be lost. I am caught between a 3.5 and a 4 rating. The story is more then just the discription. That part is only a small party of the story to get the story rolling, it just isn't the center. That is a tad deceiving. I liked the story and really wanted to find out what would happen. The chemistry was hot between them and the real story of uptown girl and biker how are we going to work it out. No real MC stuff so if you are all into that you won't find it much. I did however get frustrated with the back and forth of Jean Luc and Miri. It was almost teenager stuff. I like you, but I don't know how to say it..... Sorry I said the wrong thing it came out wrong....I didn't answer because I didn't know what to say. Then the I only heard part of the conversation, but I will think the worst of you...even though I love and trust you...and go all crazy. The sunk my rating some. Good read just frustrating. Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. |
Skeeter/Jean Luc is surprised to discover he has a son. He immediately feels the need to protect him with every thing he has and bring him back to live him. Miri is the clubs lawyer and is willing to help Skeeter get custody but only if it is with in the law. They make a plan which involved Miri acting as Skeeter's woman so they can get information for their case, but the closeness causes more trouble between them than they anticipated....business unexpectedly crosses over to pleasure. This was a good tale, the characters were very believable, and very true to life. I enjoyed the previous book in the series and this one is a good addition even if it is a little tamer. It's a very worth while read and I look forward to the next book in the series. |
I loved Skeeter aka Jean Luc, that man didn't ask questions, but demanded things, “you can be my girlfriend.” I buckled my helmet and winked at her. Her mouth made an adorable little O as she stared at me in shock. “I’ll call you.” I grinned. It was fun to make my lawyer squirm." Jean Luc can admit when he messes, “Cher…” I brushed my fingertips on her cheek until she looked up at me. “I’m an *****le. If you want to come to the party, I’ll introduce you to the whole club. Okay?” I searched her eyes, hoping this was what she wanted. “You can tell the guys thank-you and hang out as long as you want..." I liked this nook. |

For a MC book, Rebel Custody was pretty tame. But for a romance novel, it rocked. Jean Luc finds out he has a son and instantly goes into protector mode, wanting to save his kid from whatever hell he might be experiencing. Miri is willing to help him get custody if he does it by the law. Things heat up and lines start to blur for both of them. I didn't read book one of the Demon Horde series, and I had no problems. So Rebel Custody can definitely be read as a stand alone. |
