A really well written book about a woman desperate to keep her job.

Paige Alexander is a host of a successful TV show. Josh Lambert buys the station and cancels Paige's show but offers her another show, will the new offer worth it? What is he hiding about the new show?

As an incentive, both are whisked away to a Hawaiian location shoot and that's when things really get hot! Can they both make the show a success or will it be a ratings fail? Will Paige finally get past her attraction to such a self-centered but incredibly hot guy?

There are a lot of funny moments and some very steamy scenes.

A TV personality whose dream of having her own talk show came true finds it gone when a big corp buys up the network and cancels the show. Her wallet and ego force her to accept a contract with the new owners, not knowing she’ll get a job she hated earlier in her career—at least it’s in Hawaii—and be put in the proximity of a guy she can’t stand/wants to have sex with.
Yes, it’s one of those plots where the two characters—arrogant guy, arrogant girl—hate each other but can’t deny the sexual attraction, and angry sex somehow becomes love. Even though I could see why she was so mad, it got tiring after a while. Of course what happened between them might not have if there wasn’t someone way worse to make her look so good in comparison, and it’s not like he’s a prize either, at least till the obligatory redemption. The positive note I have for her is that, even though she had every right to hate Bridgette, she earned my respect when she admits the girl actually does pretty well in front of the camera.
For having a plot I can’t stand, I actually enjoyed the writing quite a bit. I didn’t expect to like these characters considering how they started, and they’re still not amongst my faves, but their witty banter grew on me.

Paige and Josh's chemistry steams up what could have been a standard, hum drum romance. Josh is the sharky businessman in charge of the company that's just bought out the company that used to own her show. Now, IBC, Josh's company, wants to replace her show with something else, and Paige is not having it at all!

When they end up in Hawaii together on company business, the tropical heat gets to them and they end up steaming up the sheets and embark on a sexy fling. But, when feelings start to invade their fling and Josh seemingly betrays Paige in the worst way, how will Paige react? Will she survive her tropical fling? Will she run back to New York with her tail between her legs? Will Josh ever get his head out of his ass and realize that there is more to life than business and money? Will his heart emerge?

I love Paige and Josh together, but not until towards the end when he gets his head out of his ass and grovels, and becomes the man he was always meant to be. He and Paige end up in a true partnership, not just a business partnership, but a love partnership where they're equals in every way. Their chemistry helped them along, but the fact that Josh really changed and grew is what gives A New York Minute its heart. And Paige is its soul. She's smart, strong and compassionate and helps Josh become the man he's always been at heart.
