I liked this one, didn't love it. It is a subject matter that should be touched on more in todays' society. I thought it was handled well. And the love story between Ben and Aria was an added bonus!

I would like to thank Sarah Robinson, Season Publishing and NetGalley for a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.

Both Aria and Ben have ex's that would like nothing more than to see their lives destroyed and their careers end in disaster. But one thing neither of them count on is the fact that Ben is willing to be left with nothing then to see anything bad be done to Aria. I loved the fact that Aria wants to prove that she is a great actress and doesn't use her family connections to get parts. Also when it comes to Ben I liked that he was working hard to bring something up from nothing. He was willing to take risks and put his own money on the line if need be. They not only prove that they can do it but that they can do it better together.

I give this book 4 kisses...

Happy Reading... Adri

Title: Nudes
Author: Sarah Robinson

4 unexpected stars

This is the first time that I've had a chance to read a book written by Sarah Robinson and boy was Nudes not the story that I expected! It's so full of twists and turns that I don't think I could have guessed what would have happened next. With the onslaught of Hollywood actors getting their account ts hacked and their personal information leaked in as many social media outlets as possible, Nudes was the perfect story that made it more personal ~ I got to know the woman, Aria, whose information was spread every, and the man, Ben, who was behind it all.

4 breath taking dreams

It was the type of read that kept me entertained from start to finish. The emotions, the feelings and the chemistry between these two was completely unexpected and yet, it was exactly what was needed for me to understand the mindset behind these events. He drama was just enough to make my heart pound and more than a little curious to read more from Sarah Robinson in the future to find out what else she has to offer!

This was my first Sarah Robinson book and it absolutely won't be my last. There was a lot of things not to like in this book, yet there was nothing to dislike about the book as a whole. That's saying a lot about the quality of writing. Even when it was uncomfortable, I needed to see it through to the end. I know I say this about a lot of books, but honestly, the Hollywood world and its scandal aren't usually my go to genre. This was so much more though.

It wasn't shallow or snobby, instead it had a depth and empowering feeling, despite the adversity the characters faced. The choices they made gave showed a strength of character that was so refreshing in not only this sub genre of romance, but in romance as a whole. It had me devouring the pages, and ending in a way that left me completely satisfied, yet still craving more.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read Nudes and I'm equally grateful that I took the chance.

Favorite Quote: “She’d earned every moment of her career, and if she was going down, she was going down fighting.”

Movie executive Ben Lawson almost lost it all in his high-profile divorce but he’s being given second chance and nothing or nobody is going to stand in his way.

Then his leading lady walks on the set.

Actress Aria Rose may not be a household name in Hollywood just yet but her latest role could land her an Oscar if she keeps her nose clean.

Then she meets the head of the movie studio.

He doesn’t want to fall for her.

She can’t afford to fall for him.

But fall they do and soon they learn that in order to rise from the ashes…someone will have to burn.

Nudes by Sarah Robinson is a contemporary romance that starts off with a bang as we are dropped right into the beginning of a scandal then taken back into the past so that we can see how it all started.

She was everywhere. Her breasts, her body, her love life on full display for the world to see.

[…] A sob stuck in her throat. Did he do this?

We are introduced to Aria Rose and Ben Lawson in short bursts-starting with an after party and again two weeks later at the studio where they all work. Ben is taking over the management of the studio where Aria just completed her first big film-Scarlett Letters. A movie that promises to be a huge money maker. Robinson uses these two short meet greets to establish their intense attraction and chemistry. They decide on a weekend only love affair, agreeing that neither wants anything long term nor do they want any gossip before the movie goes to the theaters.

“This may not be able to go past Sunday night, but we can enjoy it now.”

Robinson uses Ben and Aria’s history as the shovel to dig behind the glitz and glamor of Hollywood into its darker side; focusing on the double standards between actors and actresses and the sex as currency atmosphere it fosters. Presented in dual narrative, Robinson tells the story of two people whose love affair sets off a chain of events neither could have seen coming. An interesting premise and solid base offer much potential though I was disappointed to see Robinson chooses not to take any real risk in here and stays remarkably low key in terms of angst and conflict.

Ben and Aria are engaging protagonists who fit together rather easily in their attraction, creating an insta lust/love connection that offers readers a sexually primed romance that is heavy on the sex but weak in chemistry and emotional fulfillment. We are told they are head over heels for one another-soul mates-but Robinson never fully convinces me of that. I enjoyed the forbidden vibe surrounding their affair and the comfortable nature of their interactions but I really wanted to experience their getting to know one another and falling in love. Instead, it’s forced on us at a rapid rate of speed as Robinson sets up for the main conflict.

The ending picks up right back where we began. The scandal plays out and we learn the consequences for all involved. I commend Robinson for choosing this particular theme. We see this type of behavior everywhere, not just in Hollywood, and the more light we shine on it, the more we can show people that this is NOT acceptable and we will fight back. Robinson leaves us with a small epilogue that assures us this couple gets their HEA.

There were some things that didn’t work for me in here. Obviously, the insta love aspect was one. Robinson spends too much time in telling us rather than showing us. That creates a lack of depth and blocks connections. At times the story felt rushed and at others it dragged. I also had issues how certain scenes played out. Aria and Ben constantly call for secrecy yet apparently all anyone has to do is look at them and they know. There is one scene where Aria’s ex finds out and rather than lie, he is simply told to keep it a secret. Huh? She’s an actress. She’s literally trained to lie on cue and she knows he is angry she dumped him.

Nudes was a fast read that evokes some strong emotions over its theme. Though it is listed as part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

This was a sexy yet sweet well-rounded Hollywood romance. It's a great day off, by the beach or afternoon read. The material isn't heavy, the story has flow, it's concept while not a "new" story had elements that made it stand-out and really it was enjoyable.
Aria is an up and coming actress who just landed her first big-ish role. She doesn't love all that comes with Hollywood. She's not looking for trouble or to splashed all over the cover of magazines. She is has a fun and light, sometimes flirty and sometimes serious personality. She is just someone you want to be around. She hasn't made the best boyfriend choices in the past but when Mr. Lawson, new CEO steps in, well it is either going to go down the tubes or be the talk of the town, or maybe both.
Ben is basically on his last chance in Hollywood. He divorce did terrible things for his life and went from having it all to having to hang on. He is not looking for anything, nor does he trust anyone really, but there is this chemistry and pull that Aria gives off that he needs to explore. Ben is also a fun character, underneath all the seriousness. He can be flirty and free when the mood strikes but for the most part he remains closed off and all business.
Not only was this book a solid romance but it also showed the ugly side of the Hollywood. The side that brings out the worst in people and shows that everything is not glass houses and perfect bodies. There is a good message in here and strong characters to carry that message through to the end. I look forward to whatever else this author has planned.

WOW!! This book was so much more than I expected. This book is so much more than the cover. The underlying message Sarah sends is one we all need to be reminded of daily. We are more than what you see. Words hurt - stand up for one another instead of shaming each other.

I can't express how much I truly loved this book. Not just the message behind the story, but the story itself. Sarah wrote two very strong characters who fell for each other immediately. And let me tell you, insta-love stories are a hard sell for me. If the story is not written the correct way, I won't even finish the book. But that definitely is not the case with Nudes.

I won't go into the details of this because it's a story you want to experience first hand. Aria is an upcoming actress with her first leading roll. She won't allow anything to happen that will make it seem like she didn't earn the lead roll all on her own accord. She's focused on her craft and doesn't want anyone or anything getting in her way. She's got a great family behind her and even some awesome friends in this business helping her move up in the world.

Ben is trying to make a comeback after his ugly divorce. He refuses to date another actress or any other woman distract him in this business. But when he meets Aria, nothing can stop him from going after her. No matter what he tells himself or what she says - the chemistry can't be denied. And after a "free agents" weekend, it only seems as though they have added more fuel to the flames burning between them. But it's not easy to keep things a secret in Hollywood - everyone is out for themselves and they don't care who takes the fall, as long as they come out on top.

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I devoured this book within hours. Sarah tells a very compelling and real story that you can so easily believe would happen in Hollywood (even if hasn't already). I loved these characters strength and how they were so resilient, when many would run and hide, lick their wounds. And the message behind it all - so powerful and I love how Sarah delivered it.

If you don't have this book on your TBR list, you definitely need to. This is a book you don't want to be left out on.

Wow, what a wonderful read. When I first saw this cover I had no idea what this book was going to be about and even after reading the blurb I had no idea how amazing this book would really end up being. This book had my absolute attention. I was so emotionally invested in this story. My chest was actually in pain as I was reading this book. I couldn't decide who I wanted to be mad at during one point in the book. Both of these characters make mistakes and if they want a happy every after with one another they are going to have to let go of the past, grow from their mistakes and open their hearts, minds and ears. This couple has such chemistry and attraction to each other. They make an absolutely wonderful couple. I love how she didn't just lay down and let the world run her over. She owns up to her mistakes and she learns and teaches others from them. She takes something that would have someone normally completely keep someone down she turns it into something to help others.

Anyways, if you have never read anything by Sarah before then stop what you are doing and for sure pick this book up. I highly recommend it and look forward to more in the hopefully near future!!!

“This is Hollywood. You haven’t made it until you’ve got a sex tape.”

Nudes by Sarah Robinson is book one in her latest series entitled Exposed. It is no secret that I am a huge fan of this author, particularly her Kavanagh Legends series. Ms. Robinson did not disappoint with this contemporary romance. She takes us into the deceptive and cut-throat world of Hollywood giving us a forbidden romance between two protagonists who can’t seem to stay away from temptation.

Aria Rose is an actress who has yet to catch her big break. She’s worked hard to get where she is at so when she lands a lead role that can finally change the path of her career, Aria is determined to steer clear of anything or anyone that can ruin things for her. However, when Aria meets Ben Lawson, the CEO of the movie production company behind the movie she has starred in, she can’t help but become ensnared with the instant connection they seem to share.

Ben has been burned in the past and is not looking to get involved with another actress who may or may not be using him to further her career. He wants to focus on his company and make it the success he knows it can be. When he meets Aria, she becomes the distraction he simply does not need. After a lust-filled weekend together, both Ben and Aria are unable to simply walk away and pretend that nothing happened. So ensues a forbidden relationship that they can’t truly keep under wraps. As the pair get caught up in a tentative relationship, feelings beyond the physical realm begin to develop. As Ben and Aria through what they mean to one another, they find themselves at the center of a scandal that may be too hot to handle.

This story is told in dual POVs. I loved Aria and Ben as characters and their fiery connection was certainly steamy and all-consuming. There was this push and pull dichotomy as both characters try to ascertain whether what they were feeling was truly real or something fleeting. There was also this intensity to the overall story arc that kept me reading as it does not take long for Ben and Aria to become enveloped into this huge scandal that has the potential to destroy them. Watching both characters navigate the rough terrain and find their way to a happy forever was rewarding and beautiful.

All in all, I truly enjoyed reading Nudes. This sexy tale delves into some important issues which I did appreciate as a reader. A recommended read.

Aria is the new Hollywood "It" girl. Ben is a Hollywood legacy, who has taken the helm of the studio Aria is filming for. When the two meet, there is an instant connection that they decide to ignore except for one weekend but find that it not enough.

The story is one of insta-lust turned love and the complicated machinations of Hollywood. As the title suggests, the main conflict is when nudes of Aria is released to the press and how that effects her relationship with Ben and how she faces the press. Ms. Robinson's character Aria, while quite young and slightly naïve, does have an inner strength to her. A Hollywood ingénue that has a good head on her shoulders and strong family at her back. Ben is a bit of an issue. Ms. Robinson made him a 30 year old studio CEO which is on the edge of unrealistic yet he is written mature beyond those years. A solid alpha, slightly jaded hero.

The story moves along quickly and there is good chemistry between the H/h. Ms. Robinson's inclusion of interesting supporting characters like Steele the tough-girl make-up artist and Russ the talented yet sleazy director rounds out the story well. Ms. Robinson took a la-la- land stereotype story and gave it a nice spin with an inspiring ending / moral to the tale.

Aria Rose is an up and coming star who is working on her first feature film. She dated the film's director until she discovered he was cheating on her. She meets Ben Lawson, the movie studios new CEO and instantly attracted to him. Ben just went through a highly publicized nasty divorce with his actress wife. He’s done with actresses and needs to focus on making the studio a Hollywood powerhouse again. Aria knows it’s she can lose her job or end up blacklisted if she becomes involved with Ben. Ben and Aria’s nuclear attraction makes their one-weekend hookup rule seem impossible. It’s just one weekend, and no one will know. Or will they? Aria ends up exposed in more ways than one.

I liked Nudes. In some respects, I felt that Ben and Aria’s romantic storyline took a back seat to the powerful social messages. Body and slut shaming happen to celebrities and ordinary people every day. Open up any social media app, and you're bound to see some form of it online. It's not ok to degrade and bully anyone on or offline. Sarah delivered this message with a lot of heart. Stick and stones and can your bones, but let's face it, if a few hundred thousand people were looking at your pictures and calling you a “fat pig” “slut” or “ugly” that’s going to hurt worse. Nudes was uplifting, sexy and smart. One-click it.

This was my first Sarah Robinson book and I look forward to reading more from her! This is one of those books that you shouldn't judge by the cover. Not saying the cover is bad, but if you look at it and think ehhh, it's not for me, you might want to think again. I was sucked into Ben and Aria's story! There was an immediate, intense attraction between them and both of them knew they should stay away, mainly due to their roles with the studios. Their interactions felt believable and neither had been looking for someone else. Not only was this a sweet love story, it was so much more. There is more to a person than just what you see and this book encapsulates that idea in more than one way. I felt for Aria and what she was going through and there were a few times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room, but alas, I just keep reading. I feel like I can't say anything about this book to do it justice. It was a great read and a powerful message. I'm glad I took a chance on this book and I highly recommend it!

Celebrities in the spotlight. Whether leaked by those closest to them or people off the street, snapshots of celebrities lives are plastered all over our screens for our ‘entertainment’. How much access we have to them and the misguided right some people think they have to be judge, jury, and executioner with only random photos, or misconstrued half sentences as evidence, is one of the predominant messages throughout Nudes. The other is digging deep, standing up for yourself, believing in your own worth and values when others try to chip away at your confidence, and coming out the other side stronger for it. It is a story, particularly of personal empowerment. Sometimes I find that such messages can come across as preachy and take me out of the storyline, but not in this case. I thought the author did well to highlight the unsavoury trend in society that has grown exponentially since the advent of social media. If it makes the reader pause for a moment and examine any part they play in this, then that is a good thing. OK, so now on to the story.

As newly named CEO, Ben Lawson has sworn off actresses and is concerned only with making this production company a success. After watching his ex-wife, and aspiring actress, air their dirty laundry in the media, doing everything she could to destroy his reputation, there is no way he will put himself in that position again. However, when he walks onto the set of his production company’s latest movie, he is immediately struck by the lead actresses presence. There is something about her, something that pulls him to her, something that has the potential to stop his career in its tracks. I appreciated Ben’s reluctance to get involved with Aria. He was upfront with her and, prior to taking their relationship to the next level, he did everything he could to save not only his career but hers as well.

Aria Rose is an up and coming actress, her talent making her a rising star in Hollywood, and she is on the verge of stardom with the imminent release of her latest movie. Apart from a previous, unfortunate lapse of judgment where relationships are concerned, she has kept herself out of the limelight for the wrong reasons, as much as she can. Totally focused on her career, relationships are the furthest thing from her mind. Sadly, as we see too often in today’s online communities and media, you can keep yourself as clean as a whistle on the scandal front, but this will not save you from the constant barrage of ridicule, criticism, and vitriol that besieges some people, particularly celebrities, today. It takes a strong individual to withstand this kind of treatment and still have faith in decency, kindness, compassion and empathy. Aria was one such individual and I admired her focus and ability to prevail. She kept her head high and did not once stoop to the level of those who would see her fall. She carried herself with grace and I could understand what Ben saw in her.

This story held my interest throughout. There were a couple of moments where I thought their infatuation overrode what I thought would have been common sense with regards to guarding their privacy. It did bother me when they were trying to keep their relationship a secret but, in these couple of instances, acted without even thinking about it. Overall though, there was a great plotline, the progression of the story flowed well and the angsty moments and twists were well placed.

I could identify with the characters and their circumstance, and their dialogue was easy flowing and felt realistic. The sizzling chemistry between Aria and Ben was evident, giving me the emotional attachment to, and affinity for characters that I look for in a book. When Aria’s history comes back to haunt her in the most despicable of ways, there is one moment that I thought they both should have had more faith in their relationship, but in hindsight, I could understand the mistrust that must surround them. They did fight for each other, and I really liked seeing how this played out. Both Aria and Ben’s strength and resilience to stand up to the industry and it’s injustices, Ben’s devotion to Aria’s well-being, and their trust in their love really endeared these characters to me.

The epilogue was the perfect ending for me, and it was heartwarming to see them make it through all the muck thrown at them, learn to trust and stay grounded in their love and emerge stronger together. Told in alternating POV’s, Nudes captured my attention, delivered a powerful message that was effortlessly woven into the plot, and was a fast paced, enjoyable read from start to finish.

There is nothing Mrs Robinson can't do. This novel is steamy, sexy Ben and Aria's sexual chemisty burn the pages.
Ben runs the studio that Aria is shooting in. The sparks fly right at the beginning. They are both amazing characters, strong and down to earth but being in the spotlight comes with manipulation and huge scandals. I loved everything about this book. It kept me on edge the whole way through.

There's a very clever moralistic point within this book that is a good lesson to take away from Aria and Ben's story. So much so, that when I got to the end I felt the cool slap of judgement and an 'ooooh' moment and it really changed my complete view of the whole premise, from that of an ok read, to, that was clever and a very good read. I applaud the author in her deliverance of what she was aiming for as by jove it worked!

Aria and Ben's story could have been so easily settled if they had only talked in plain english and not riddles and not surmise to know what truly was going on by the other. But then we wouldn't have had their story told as it was and the curve balls that their relationship had to catch or dodge.

Very well written, sometimes a little too twee or sweet but having said that both characters shone through. Baddies were indeed baddies, grrrrr to Aria's ex, what an absolute tool that man was! And to Ben's ex, a first class user!

All in all, an enjoyable romp into the world of Hollywood, great characters and a well written romance with a great lesson woven through that was actually very clever.

I received an advanced readers copy of Nudes in return for an honest review and honestly the heart of the story captured me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As a blogger, I get to pick and choose the books that I feature on the blog. Even more so, what I will review. It’s only me so I tend to be picky and yes, I have my favorite publishers and authors that I feature/read all the time. That said, Ms. Robinson is a new to me author. I’ve read some of her other works and loved them. When I was approached to read this one, I actually didn’t want to…at first. In fact, I left the sign up on a tab for a couple of days before I committed. To read or not to read? I was already going to spotlight it but reading it? I had a tough time with the blurb.

Well, this book was not what I expected. It deals with topics that are very relevant in our society today. And just with our children. Adults can be just as cruel, if not worse. Throw in Hollyweird and its even more messed up. What I came away from reading about Ben and Aria is that women can stand up for themselves and be heard when the cruelty starts. And that some people can find redemption in what they have done to those women.

I did, however, have some issues with the book. I don’t like instalove at all. Aria and Ben have it in spades. I understand that the beginning of the book had to be that way but I knew that Ms. Robinson had a point to that and she made it. I never felt sorry for Aria or Ben at all in the book. They had choices to make, right or wrong and they had to deal with the fallout. In speaking of which, the pictures don’t show up until over 50% of the book.

What kept my attention is the way that Ms. Robinson wrote her characters and her writing in general. She is one of those authors that can take a topic that most writers would gloss over or romanticize but she made it all too real. She has the guts to do that and it really showed in this book. It’s emotional, raw, heartbreaking and swoon worthing all in the same book.

Again, I applaud Ms. Robinson for writing such a provocative and thought provoking book. It has a message that isn’t lost on me but it also leaves me a little leery. I have a 7th-grade boy in my house now, I pity how social media, phones, etc. are going to play out in his world. I can’t keep him a baby anymore. Bravo again, Ms. Robinson.
