Are celebrities rights any different because they are famous and put themselves in the public eye? In a world of social media and instantaneous sharing, there is no chance of hiding. Nudes by Sarah Robinson is a story about fame, privacy and romance. Aria Rose is making a name for herself. After working hard to get her name out there, she finally has the role that can make or break her. And she knows she’s got this! The last thing she needs is a man. Especially a man in the business, a man that is technically her boss. Ben Lawson was burned once and it nearly destroyed him. Never again. After his now ex-wife nearly ruined him, he is determined to show everyone he is not easily deterred. He is determined to make a success of the studio he is now running. Nothing will get in his way. I loved Aria and Ben. They were both such likeable characters. Though both were weary due to previous relationships, they were open with each other. And together they were hot and steamy. Their romance was a bit on the insta-love side but the author did a good job flowing it into the story. Nudes has a touch of the forbidden, as Aria is working on a film under the studio Ben Lawson is now running. But they feel an instant attraction neither can deny. Though they try and fight it, they can’t stay away from each other. They decide to keep it quiet and stay under the radar. But when nude photos of Aria are leaked, all hell breaks loose. I really enjoyed this story. Though Aria and Ben are famous, at the end of the day they are just two people. After the photos are leaked, they must find a way to move forward and wade through the lies and duplicity. The scandal rocks their world and Aria’s character is questioned. Ben and Aria’s journey is full of heartache, lies and scandal. Sarah Robinson did an outstanding job showing her readers the world of the rich and famous and how vulnerable they can really be. I loved the strength Aria showed throughout the story and even during their toughest moments, you just cheered for Ben and Aria. I give Nudes by Sarah Robinson 4-stars! |
"It was empowering, and taught courage in the toughest circumstances." This quote is truly what this story is about, standing up for yourself and not letting shaming bring you down. It wants to empower and embolden women. When life takes a giant crap on you to rise above, lots of I'm a woman hear me roar. Almost feminist. And let me tell you, that is not what I thought I was getting going into this story, so it's probably best you go in with the right mindset. "She'd earned every moment of her career, and if she was going down, she was going down fighting." I thought I was going to get a high on the drama Hollywood romance, but the drama fell flat and became a story of women empowerment and equality. That's just not what I expected, we didn't even get to the leaked photos until 60% into the story. The rest was insta-love/lust and this story is just not what I signed up to read. It was a good story and well written, just not for me. My hope for you is that you go into this story eyes-wide open and that you feel empowered and not ashamed of who you are. And maybe, just maybe you will find your happy ending along the way |
Super read if you are looking for a fun, sweet, sexy romance give this little gem a read.I really enjoyed it and just loved the characters i can't wait to try more would recommend to all. |
The internet is no one's friend. Social media and a camera in everyone's hand can and will destroy even the best of people. She's a rising star, he's a movie exec. they shouldn't be, it was only supposed to be a fling. But with chemistry like this, you can't deny each other. Insta-lust turns to insta-love. A great look at a rising issue with sparks and fire. A strong woman who knows her worth and isn't afraid to stand up for herself despite the hateful people in the world. |
I was really looking forward to the release of this book after reading the synopsis. I'll say that I enjoyed the premise of the story simply do to the fact that I haven't read any other story like this one. I also liked the message that Sarah Robinson brought to light towards the end of the book. That being said I was a little disappointed. I didn't find the story to be engaging at all. I liked Ben and Aria individually but not so much as a couple. I didn't feel the connection between them. I wasn't drawn into their romance and I found myself struggling to finish this book. I wanted to like it but it just fell short for me. |
Amount of sex 4 / 5 How explicit 4 / 5 Story 5 / 5 Overall: 4.5 / 5 Wow! What a great book! Nudes by Sarah Robinson is so much more than the typical Hollywood love story. It is refreshing and I was captivated by the characters and story line. Nudes is filled with drama, angst, passion, and emotion! In this story, Aria Rose is a budding actress who is staring in, Scarlet’s Letters, where she was casted as the leading actress, for her first time. In the beginning of filming, she began dating the director, Russell Rains, but broke it off after she caught him cheating on her. On the last day of filming, she met the new CEO of the studio, Ben Lawson. Their connection was electric, but technically he was her boss… well, starting on Monday he would become her boss. So, what did they do, but have a magically weekend together. And then, everything fell apart! A fabulous book by Ms. Robinson and I highly recommend it! A Must Read! *Voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy* |
WOW! I really don't know how to review this book since I was tasked with leaving a "Spoiler free" review if I chose to review the ARC I received so all I will and can say is, this was an AMAZING, POWERFUL, THOUGHT PROVOKING, EMOTIONAL READ! Sarah Robinson hits one out of the park with this story and I CANNOT wait for the next book in the series to be released! Please do not let this sexy cover influence your decision because there is so much more behind the cover of this book that it needs to be mentioned. Not only do you get a sexy read with some angst but you get a powerful story that I thoroughly enjoyed. Girl Power at its finest....WE CAN DO BETTER! is a not just a saying, it's a motto that we should all follow. I LOVED this book and have purchased a Kindle Copy as well as a Paperback Copy for myself, and I plan on surprising a few friends with copies for them to read as well. |

3.5 stars--NUDES is the first installment in Sarah Robinson’s contemporary, adult EXPOSED romance series. This is up and coming actress Aria Rose, and new CEO of Shepherd Film Studios Ben Lawson’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Aria and Ben) NUDES follows the secret and forbidden relationship between actress Aria Rose and studio head Ben Lawson. Days before taking over the reigns of Shepherd Film Studios Ben Lawson spent a wild and sex filled weekend with actress Aria Rose. Together, the couple agreed to a no-strings attached, ‘free-agents’ affair but sometimes the heart wants what the head refuses to admit. What ensues is the breakdown of trust and a violation of privacy that engulfs our leading couple. NUDES is a story of betrayal where doubt and uncertainty leads to the destruction of love, and the breakdown of friendship and trust. The relationship between Aria and Ben is one of immediate attraction; palpable sexual chemistry and a mutual desire to be free of constraints, manipulation and public scrutiny. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of sexually graphic, over the top language and text. There is a distinct lack of communication that adds fuel to an already raging fire. Sarah Robinson’s NUDES is not only a story of romance but a story with a message empowering women against humiliation, shaming and the rampant sexism in society today. Simple in its’ presentation, NUDES will awaken your heart and your mind to the reality of discrimination, inequality and bias in our public and personal lives. But, saying that, I struggled with the lack of emotional depth-something I thought should have been more fervent and visceral. The conflict resolution was too perfunctory- there should have been a more powerful and dramatic presentation. Never fallen in love with an actress. The one rule his father had told him before he died that Ben had ignored. Lesson learned. «… Making love work is a choise. And yet… if it’s not with the writh person, then it’s the wrong choise.» «Soul mates.» Aria raised ane brow. «You believe in that?» Ben stared ta her for a moment… a long moment. The kind of moment that made her shift her weight from one leg to the other, her skin heating under his gaze. «Yes. I believe in soul mates.» The moment she touched him, she pulled back, immediately embarrassed. He. Is. My. Boss. Get it together, Aria. «Aside from some promotionaal rhoto shoots, yesterday was my last day here. And you…» Aria pointed squarely at him, the corners of her lips twitching. «You don’t officially work here until Monday.» «We’re free agents.» |
I'm not going to rate it since I couldn't read it.I couldn't feel it and I couldn't connect with the characters |
Nudes was everything you could want from a Hollywood romance and more. Sarah Robinson was able to depict a couple who were famous and in the public eye, and yet they were just like all of us; dealing with the ups and downs of a relationship, struggles for equality personally and professionally, and trying to stay true to oneself when so many have opinions of what/who you should be. Ben Lawson and Aria Rose had an instant connection that they could absolutely NOT give into. So, like with anything you know you can't have, they found a loophole...Free-Agents! Ben Lawson was a movie exec who built a great career only to have it torn down and be rebuilt again. A nasty divorce forced him to start over. He was the new studio head of Shepherd Films. He had 1 year to make this production company thrive like it once had. Then he saw, the newest up and coming and coming actress, Aria Rose. "Ben felt a swelling in his chest, a lump in his throat. He wasn't even sure what the storyline was about, and yet, he was captivated by the woman in front of the cameras. Her presence was powerful...she was powerful." Aria Rose was an actress trying to make her mark in the movie world. She worked hard for every role and didn't like hand-outs. She wanted to get a role and actually earn it. Aria was filming a new movie, Scarlet Letters, that could make or break her. When she saw the handsome and talented Ben Lawson, her world slowed down and everything felt like it was falling into place. But wait...about that promise.. "Dating Ben Lawson was not an option. Falling for Ben Lawson was even less of an option." Both Aria and Ben made a promise to themselves: NO DATING ANYONE YOU WORK WITH! But how could they deny their attraction? It was definitely hard in the beginning, but giving in was so right. They had both ended some bad yet memorable relationships, and weren't ready for a commitment. At least that is what they thought. I loved how Sarah Robinson focused on the double standards women face. Aria prided herself in working hard on auditioning and doing everything she could to earn a role. After nude photos of herself are leaked, she has to deal with backlash from fans, acquaintances, and even her bosses. But the question is "why should gossip outshine talent?" Aria and Ben are able to push through so many obstacles and stay grounded in the process. It's also important to have honest friends in your life who will tell you when you just need to put your big girl panties on. "You're going to eat an entire goddamn donut with extra icing and you're going to f*cking like it." Hollywood has a way of changing people, and being able to stick to your beliefs takes so much; but they will do whatever they can to not let go of who they are. No one should have the power to make you conform. The only opinion that should matter is yours. "Judge me for my spirit. Judge me for my attitude. Judge me for my talent on the silver screen, but don't judge me for being a victim. I'm not, and you won't make me." This was hands down my favorite Hollywood romance this year. Readers, get ready to get swept up in the true Hollywood story of Aria and Ben! |
"They didn't love each other. They didn't even know each other. So, why did it feel like they did?" I DEVOURED THIS BOOK!!! With the world so focused on Hollywood and its scandals, this book is perfect!! Aria is just getting her foot firmly in the door when everything comes crashing down. She puts her trust in the wrong person like so many of us do. But one person comes into her life that she never saw coming. Ben can't have any distractions (again), but there is something about Aria that he can't shake. No matter what he does, he can't get enough of her. Even when her world is falling apart, he will stop at nothing to see her soar. "I don't want to be free agents, Aria. I want you. I need you." "I'm yours. I always have been." "This is real?" "We're so f**king real." They thought it would be a short fling, but it was so much more. I loved watching their relationship bloom. It was fast and hot, but also beautiful and pure in a way. Ben and Aria didn't have the typical romance, but it was their's. This book also puts a spotlight on the way society is when it comes to women's bodies, their actions, and how they are viewed in the media. It's enlightening and powerful! "She'd earned every moment of her career, and if she was going down, she was going down fighting." I couldn't get enough of this book!! This story was unlike any I've read before. There were elements inside that have not been talked about. Aria is an amazing heroine!!! Girl power to the fullest!! And Ben is one heck of a hero! He is just incredible! Very well done!! "Who wouldn't want the fantasy? Some would say I'm already living it." |
In Nudes, Sarah Robinson introduces us to Ben and Aria. Aria is an up and coming actress who is trying to make it in Hollywood in her own merits and Ben is a studio executive who is a bit jaded when it comes to relationships. When they meet its obvious that the sparks are there but for one reason or another they don’t pursue it. When they meet again later they can’t deny it anymore and decide to spend an entire weekend indulging on their chemistry. The relationship between the characters is both explosive and sweet , and the way that Sarah writes it is kind of a slow torture, you keep wondering if they are ever going to be together. Like with Sarah’s past work this book is very complex, it touches some subjects that are hard to deal with and I think that she did it in a good way, they were a couple of things that didn’t sit well with me but I don’t think that she wrote that intentionally, I think that she wrote it like I think would be in real life, it really got me thinking about the book long before I finished it. I just read she is planning more books in this world and I look forward to see where she takes us. |
Couldn't put this book down! Hooked from the very first page , full review on amazon.com, amazon.co.uk and goodreads to come |
Nudes is a standalone novel written by contemporary romance author, Sarah Robinson. This novel is a page turner, that grabs your attention from the moment you start reading until the end of this book. Sarah has you falling in love with her characters, Ben and Aria. Plus you can't forget how Sarah handled the theme of inequality between men and women with such delicacy as she advocated for victims of sexual harassment and shaming not just in Hollywood, but in society as a whole. Not only does this book raise a great issue it has a great love story between Ben and Aria. I love to see Sarah writing this unique storyline. I truly enjoyed this book. I look forward to seeing what Sarah is going to do in the next book BARE, about Aria's younger sister. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book by publisher via NetGalley. |
Shel: Nudes was one of those good surprises you sometimes get as a reader. We've never read a Sarah Robinson book before and within pages I knew that we'd be reading more from her backlist. Nudes was just so incredibly easy to get sucked into; it's this Hollywood romance where Ben and Aria (our dual narrators) seem to instantly be drawn to each other and it's their connection and inability to stop it that made it so much fun to read. I know that some readers are put off by that insta-connection thing but the writing was so engaging that Ben and Aria's relationship just seemed right. Another notable thing was the conversation about sexism and the double standard against women we find in our society. Robinson was not heavy handed in her application to this aspect and the way she crafted Aria and Ben's responses to various events in the novel was appropriate and what you'd want or expect to happen in real life. I also appreciated the author's note added to the end of this novel; it's nice to know where an author is coming from and how/why she makes the choices she does. If Sarah Robinson is new to you, as she was to us, Nudes would be a great one to start with--it's a stand alone, a quick read, and you'll really like Ben and Aria. Court: Right. The story was a teeny slow to get into for me, but about the 23% mark and Shelley telling me it was worth the wait, to be patient...Sarah hit a groove and it all came together. We were learning the characters and I wasn't sure quite where they wanted to take me yet. By the end of this book, though, I was hooked line and sinker for this one and Aria and Ben and Sarah's writing were the cause. I liked too that there are a lot of lessons in this book beyond them getting to know each other. Hollywood is a hard place to be, and dating your boss, someone older, and trying to get ahead in your business is a trope that is somewhat hard to navigate. Should it be a problem? No, but in Hollywood it is especially hard for women to do and like Shelley said...it was highlighted in a not in your face way but really added to the telling of this story. I felt so many emotions for Aria, and hurt for her and laughed with her...and experienced it all with her...and that is always a book we want to read, y'all. Pick this one up for a good time in movie making, and sexy times in between. |
Nudes is a beautiful story with a powerful message. Aria is an up and coming young actress who knows better than to get involved with another Hollywood guy. But, when she meets Ben, the CEO of the studio producing her latest movie, it's lust at first sight, for both of them. As they get involved in an at first no strings affair, the sex is hot and steamy, but the feelings are even stronger than the passion. Even though it's a scandal waiting to happen, they just can't help themselves, and they indulge and indulge and fall head over heels. But, when pictures are leaked of Aria and it appears that she's been betrayed, how will she handle it? What does it do to hers and Ben's relationship? I won't spoil what it does to their relationship and how they handle it. But, what it does to Aria is make her even stronger. She comes out, not unscathed certainly, but all the stronger and more empowered. The message behind Nudes is a really powerful, heart tugging one: body shaming, slut shaming and victim shaming is not OK, and victimizing anyone, no matter who it is, is something that doesn't just happen in Hollywood, it happens everywhere. It's so easy to sit at a monitor and click on photos then pass judgement upon the subject of those photos. But, what does your judgement do to the victim? How does it impact their lives? Does it hurt them? Of course it does, and it hurts Aria. But, instead of retreating and cowering, she uses that hurt to become a woman to be admired and respected. Bravo to Sarah Robinson for this amazing story, and for the message behind it. It's not something I will soon forget. |
Nudes is a contemporary romance full of passion, romance, and scandal. The Hollywood lights shine brightly on Ben Lawson and Aria Rose and when the fire gets too hot, will they be able to withstand the heat or will they burn? Aria Rose is an up and coming actress. Although she has landed a few pivotal roles, she is still waiting for her big break through. After a few messy hook ups and break ups, Aria is convinced that she needs to stay away from Hollywood Men and focus on her career. However, when she meets Ben Lawson, the CEO of an up and coming movie production company, they share an instant connection. Ben knows better than to get mixed up with one of his actresses. After his messy divorce, the last thing he needs is another scandal in his life. When he meets Aria, she is like a breath of fresh air. She is younger, sweeter, and hotter than anything he has ever met before. Aria and Ben decide to share a quick weekend together and then move on like it never happened. However, fate had another plan for them. Aria and Ben fall head over heals in love with each other. But an up and coming actress dating her producer is certain to produce some bad press for them both. Despite their best efforts to stay away from each other, they can't seem to stay away. As their physical attraction grows, the emotional bond continues to forge, and Ben and Aria decide to try and make it work. But before they have the chance to celebrate their new romance, a horrific scandal threatens to destroy them. Told in dual POV, Nudes is a forbidden Hollywood romance full of heart. Although the connection between Ben and Aria is fast, the relationship was raw and beautiful. The pacing of the read was intense as the scandal hits and Ben and Aria are torn apart. The supporting characters enhanced the story greatly. As each moment of the plot unfolds, I became more invested in this story. I enjoyed the relationship between Aria and Ben. The severity of the scandal that hits Aria presented a great conflict for their relationship and caused Aria to face off with the paparazzi and the "big bullies" of Hollywood. This element of the plot enhanced the story and certainly exposed the ugliness and hate that exists in our world today. Overall, Nudes is a beautiful love story with strong characters and a great message. Aria and Ben will appeal to readers who enjoy a Hollywood romance or the forbidden romance trope. Sara Robinson has always been one of my go-to authors and Nudes certainly did not disappoint! |
