I always enjoy these books and use them to compile my seasonal reading lists. I have added several books from this preview to my book and will be reading them and blogging about them. Thank you Buzz and NetGalley!

I don't care how long it snows, I know I am set for books. I love everything Amy Tan has ever written so I was excited to learn she has another memoir coming out. Looking forward to finishing the next Eugenides book too.

Brilliant! I love these reviews - being able to read a chapter means that I can really see what a book will be like. Have picked up some of my new favourite books as a result of reading a preview in one of these reviews.

This was my first Buzz Book and I'm really glad I read it. I ended up adding quite a few books to my TBR shelf.

I know quite early if a book will be a good fit for me. Having a summary and approximately 50-100 pages of an excerpt to read gave me a good feel for each book.

I like the season editions as it gives a bigger selection of what is coming out in the following months.
All in all great for readers. The summary and excerpts are helpful in finding more books to read!

It looks like Fall/Winter is going to be a great season filled with many awesome reads!

Thank you Netgalley and Publishers Lunch!

This is an excellent resource. I like the different indices available so that one can look up a book according to author or publisher. Using this handy collection I found two books that I wanted to read, and I requested them from Net Galley and received them. There are three more here that I haven't seen offered yet, but have written them down and will continue to watch.
If I could, I would love to see it organized according to who will be allowed access--i.e., which books can a blogger stand a chance of reading in advance--but this is a reach, and may be outside the scope of what Buzz Books seeks to achieve.
Thank you for the advance copy.

Buzz Books provides a great resource for new titles each season. This compilation wasn't as enticing to me as previous offerings, but there are still some titles worth reading.

Books to check out:

THE FUTURE HOME OF THE LIVING GOD by Louise Erdrich
There are a lot of apocalyptic novels out there, but what about a premise where evolution starts to move backwards. That's right. No meteor or blackout, but think of the ramifications of a human race that becomes less able to invent, create, write, problem-solve. Scared? I woke up with nightmares after reading the excerpt.

HANNA WHO FELL FROM THE SKY by Christopher Meades
On a commune amongst 14 brothers and sisters, four mothers and the watchful eye of a drunken father, Hanna is about to turn 18. She will be betrothed to a man twice her age, his fifth wife. Can Hanna escape the only world she knows? Does she want to?

LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE by Celeste Ng
After Celeste Ng's brilliant debut EVERYTHING I NEVER TOLD YOU, I'd read her interpretation of the phone book if she released it. This one is definitely on my to-read list.

SOURDOUGH by Robin Sloan
Author of MR. PENUMBRA'S 24 BOOK STORE does it again with a quirky tale of a San Francisco engineer turned baker who discovers the dark side of the farmers market circuit.

Books worth investigating further:

SEVEN DAYS OF US by Francesca Hornak
MENTAL: LITHIUM, LOVE, AND LOSING MY MIND by Jaime Lowe
THE INNER LIFE OF ANIMALS by Peter Wohlleben

The perfect book to keep by your bedside table to read an essay from before you go to sleep. With both fiction and nonfiction, the choices are varied. I haven't even read them all yet but the ones I have read, I have loved. Louise Erdrich: Divine, as always. Amy Tan: Getting a glimpse into her origins, both engaging and surprisingly funny. Gabrielle Union: Raw and real and beautiful.
