I truly enjoyed this book, the chemistry between Zan and Daisy was hot. However, I think that I enjoyed there bickering more, regardless of their attraction for each other, they had an agenda that they did not want to forget about, of course, things have away of changing. I appreciated the loyalty that they had for their family, and how they fought for what they wanted. Zan, being an idiot of course, got blinded for a little bit, but he wanted Daisy, and he was going to get her, and I loved how he did a 180, with not wanting a relationship and Daisy changed all that. Poor Daisy, I felt so bad for her, when the truth came out, and Zoe attacked her, it was sad, but luckily it did not last long. I wont go into details into how things got resolved, but it is worth reading, and I hope we get to read further with Poppy and Brayden, and maybe Zoe and Tristan.

What can I say? I loved this book. It was so well written and drew exactly the right emotions. Willing the two main characters to stop being stupid and stubborn, and reading as their story unfolded with twists and turns. The author managed to get the perfect level of emotion and had me welling up at one point.
This is the kind of book I would read again, and again.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

I liked this book, however there were moments that felt confusing or rushed. At the beginning for example, it started so quickly I was just like wait, what's happening. But overall, it was a quick, fun read and I did like the characters, could've slowed some things down though for clarity.

Taming the CEO is a sexy and sweet rivals to lovers romance. Daisy is the CEO of Carter Hotels, a mom and pop string of hotels, whose company has been losing profits for awhile. She needs to make her pitch to buy some of the resorts he's selling off to Levi, owner of a line of exotic resorts, so that she can get her family company into the black. The catch? She'll be paired with her business rival, sexy CEO Zan Gillard, during her stay at one of Levi's resorts on St. Maarten, where the two must undergo a stay per Levi's requirements. Zan, with a face with assessing green eyes, ink, a nipple ring, and blond hair, a nipple ring and ink she is dying to explore with her mouth. As they undergo some of the required challenges, their chemistry ignites and pretty soon, they're having an island romp that must end when their stay is over. But, the expiration date is OK, because Daisy is looking for a stable relationship, the whole white picket fence thing, and Zan doesn't do relationships, he does business. That, and he has plans to take Daisy's company out from underneath her, so it's really alright that their little fling will end just as soon as they leave the resort.

But, what happens when both of them start developing feelings for each other? Feelings neither would have expected in a million years? And what happens when Daisy finds out Zan's plans for her company? Can their relationship withstand such a huge betrayal?

I really like Taming the CEO, especially Daisy. She's so sweet and loyal, and I was feeling for her once Zan mentioned his plans for her company, because I knew it would just about kill her, and it did. I had a problem with Zan for most of the story, he came across as an arrogant shark that I couldn't help but think Daisy was far too good for, far too sweet for him. It wasn't toward the very end, when he realized how he felt about her, and set about to get her back, that I thought he sort of redeemed himself. I'm not sure I would have been able to forgive him, Daisy is far more forgiving and soft-hearted than I!

Taming the CEO is the right amount of sweet and spicy combination for a romance novel. Main characters Daisy and Zan are in composition for a contract to bid for the same resort. They also strongly dislike one another, unfortunately because they both procrastinated they end up at the resort at the same time and partner together for a series of couples challenges that the resort host. Both are completive and have to figure out a way to work with one another for four days while in opposition for the resort. I really enjoyed the storyline and writing style of this novel. The author made the characters likeable and made me invested in their HEA. I would give this story 4.5 stars.

Taming the CEO (Right Man Wrong Family #1) by Hayson Manning
• Family Feud
Sometimes the one meant for you just isn't possible due to generations of accusations. But in the end which will you choose, work or love? Is it possible to have both? Zan and Daisy both have to decide what they can live with for the rest of their lives. Seeing how both these CEO's handle what's thrown at them was fun to read. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Entangled Publishing through NetGalley for an honest review. Due to sexual content this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older.

Review by Amanda for Love Romance Books

I was asked by the author for an honest review.

I liked the premise of Taming the CEO, though I found the actual story to be a little disorienting. One character described another as seeming to have multiple personalities (hot then cold, hot then cold). It seemed to me that both Daisy and Zan behaved that way, to the extent that it prevented me from really getting into the story.

Based on the opening of the book, I found it hard to believe that Daisy and Zan would choose to be partners for the challenge. The story did have some redeeming qualities though, and overall I thought Taming the CEO was okay. Not great, but not bad either.

This book felt a little bit like a book of two halves. It seemed to me that there was a whole back story that I had missed which led to the premise for this story. I've checked, and if there is another book, then I can't find it.

As result, the first part of the book was somewhat disjointed for me. It did hit its stride after a while, and I found myself warming to both characters and enjoying their back and forth. But when the ultimate fall out came, without the missing context from a previous book, it felt like an over-reaction.

That said, the interactions between Daisy and Xan had a deliciously wicked edge to them, and felt organic. The juxtaposition of their two characters was humorous to read, and I found myself rooting for them as a couple.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Daisy stared at the clothes in her bag and thought she was going to kill her twin sister Rose. Rose had left her a note by her suitcase to be spontaneous with no lists, or rules. Daisy’s twin did not understand her need for rules but Daisy couldn’t live without them. The first thing in the morning Daisy made a list and Daisy didn’t go to bed until everything on the list had been done. This kept Daisy grounded and in control. Daisy was there to keep their company from sinking. Daisy wanted to find the right man for a long term relationship and was online dating but so far she had no luck. Daisy wanted to but the Levi resort the owner Levi demanded that any potential buyer stay at the resort for singles/couples looking to fall in love. Daisy’s business rival was Zan Gillard and she hoped he had went to the resort in some of the previous weeks for the four day stay. Daisy had never meant Zan but she had kept tabs on him and his brothers. Zan was hot. The Levi resort was a gold mine and just what the sinking Carter Hotel chain needed and Daisy was determined to be able to buy it. Gillards may be stronger financially but the Carter name stood for family values until Brayden Gillard had splashed the story that Daisy’s sister Poppy had tried to steal his family’s secrets. Her sister was on a break from everything. Daisy’s father had died suddenly one year ago and the hotel chain wasn’t growing. Their mother left six weeks after their father’s death cruising the world trying to keep her grief from overwhelming her. Everyone was relying on Daisy and she was determined not to let them down. Zan had kissed Daisy at a New Years Eve Masquerade party he was dressed as Captain America and Zan had never forgot that kiss from six months ago. Now he was at the Levi resort and announced Daisy was his partner for the couples activities. But Zan still planned on ruining her and being the new CEO of Carter Hotels it had already been set in motion.
Excellent story and romance. I loved the plot. I loved how close both families were to each other. My heart broke for Daisy when she felt she had been a fool about Zan and when her twin Rose walked out on Daisy. I loved the outcome of the Levi Resorts deal. I loved how both Zan and Daisy had to change . I also love the ending of this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It will definitely help you suspend reality for a while with a new take on an enemies to lovers trope. I thought it was creative and fun. This was my first book by this author, but I will definitely be looking for more by them. This was a quick read and one that I did not want to put down. It had me rooting for the main characters the entire time and left a smile on my face.

Spontaneity? No. Just no. There's no list for that and Daisy lives by them. Her sister, Rose, on the other hand, decides that has to change and sends Daisy on a adventure, of sorts. Oh boy, and Rose eagerly packed for her? Yeah, Daisy knows she should've seen the warning signs. So, now she's on the way to a resort, four days of challenges for singles on the itinerary, because, as a potential buyer, the owner insists she goes through it all. Daisy can only hope her family's biggest competitor, Alexander (Zan), has already gone through it with his sexy self. No, they've never met, but in the business world, it's normal to keep a watchful eye on your rival, as she's sure he's done the same in regards to her. But Daisy needs to remain focused on saving her family's hotel chain.

Zan has called dibs...on making Daisy his partner for the resort's activities, that is. Well, okay, he kind of also did so personally, six months ago at a New Year's Eve party after sharing an explosive kiss. The problem? Daisy didn't know his identity, but he'd seen her face without her knowledge. Another problem? He's out to ruin her. Oh Zan, what have you done? Why, he's simply continued their families' long-standing feud, and eagerly looks forward to surprising them one day soon with being the new majority shareholder, and CEO, of Carter Hotels. *whispers This is going to go bad. This cannot end well.*

As neither are looking for love during this getaway, both agree to remain partners so as to avoid anyone thinking otherwise. And if they happen to make a not-so-friendly side wager...? Let's just say their mutual competitiveness will not allow either to go quietly professionally nor by losing this weekend. So yes, they'll work together simply for the sake of completing the most challenges...besides, being handcuffed together the longest could be interesting.

But what happens when the lines start to blur, personally, for Zan and Daisy? Can they resist temptation? Or will they act on their attraction for one another? If so, is it a resort only thing? Or will one, or both, of them decide they want more? Can a woman that thrives on lists and a man that shudders at the thought of rules truly be compatible? What happens when Daisy learns Zan and his brothers have been quietly plotting, and succeeding, in taking over her family's company? How will Daisy react? Will Zan regret his actions? Can their new relationship survive? Or will they lose their one chance at true love because of Zan's quest for revenge?

One-click now and follow along as two enemies, thanks to a long-ago feud that won't fade, discover there's something more important in life than work.

3.5 STARS
Rivals to lovers is a newer trope to me, but one that I'm definitely becoming hooked on. When I saw this blurb I thought the book sounded fun, and I did enjoy it overall. This book was a quick, lighter read, even with the rival to lovers aspect of it.

I liked Daisy. I liked her following the rules, and her lists and seeing how flustered she got when those safety nets were taken away from her. I connected to her right away in the book and I sympathized with the position she had been put in. There were some moments where her actions made me chuckle as well. I enjoyed seeing her grow in the book and discover her true self.

Zan was a bit tougher for me. I didn't love him right away, it took him a while to grow on me. I know he was supposed to be tough, but I had a hard time at first seeing any redeeming qualities. He did possess some, it just took me a little longer to get into his head space. He definitely had the sexy down so that was good.

My problem with this book was that I felt like I missed something in the very beginning. I knew that these two were enemies but I didn't feel I got enough of their history to justify why. The reader is told the reason in a couple sentences, but I felt like I needed a bit more from them to understand exactly why this hatred went so deep initially. Do we get this information later? Yes, but again, the snippets given in the beginning made it difficult for me to follow initially.

I did believe the chemistry between these two. The sexy times were, well, sexy. The partner challenges they were faced with were entertaining, but some seemed a bit far fetched. I liked them together and did root for them overall.

Taming the CEO was a fast read for me. It had me chuckling and there were a few moments I had to stop and fan myself. I would recommend this title and will try this author again.

Taming the CEO, by Hayson Manning is a quirky, yet cute, contemporary romance with dramatic undertones.

Daisy Carter and Alexander "Zan" Gillard are both self-proclaimed workaholics and CEOs of their respective family-owned businesses, yet he's known for spontaneity, while she lives for rules and lists. Both companies are in direct competition of each other, as well as dealing with an on-going feud between the families. In order to keep her family's company viable, Daisy needs to secure a bid with a popular resort, yet Zan is also interested for his company.

Due to an unusual requirement, the resort's owner requires both CEOs to visit this resort and participate in the single's game package. When Daisy and Zan become partners in the single's game, their extreme differences don't dilute the depth of their attraction to each other. However, Daisy's business is at stake, and Zan is secretly plotting to overtake her family's company, despite their blossoming relationship.

Taming the CEO is geared towards those who enjoy reading contemporary romances, particularly stories involving business rivals.

CEO's Daisy Carter and Alexander "Zan" Gillard have inherited their families long standing feud only to find themselves paired for four days with each other in order to bid on the coveted singles retreat they both want. As the two are forced to work together the biggest challenge facing them might not be winning the bid but acknowledging their growing attraction to each other.

Taming the CEO sets out to take no prisoners of love in this lively story full of sarcastic comebacks, surly glares and steamy interludes! Hayson Manning pulls out her sparkling wit and bulks it up with warm and cozy vulnerabilities that give life to characters we can all identify with. Zan and Daisy's conflict was great but their capitulation to love was titanic! Watching this couple process their growing affection for each other as they littered the pages with mistakes and kisses was so much fun! This author's writing is perceptive, refreshing and skillfully communicated. Rivals with benefits Hayson Manning style is unequivocally the way to go!
