CEO's Daisy Carter and Alexander "Zan" Gillard have inherited their families long standing feud only to find themselves paired for four days with each other in order to bid on the coveted singles retreat they both want. As the two are forced to work together the biggest challenge facing them might not be winning the bid but acknowledging their growing attraction to each other. Taming the CEO sets out to take no prisoners of love in this lively story full of sarcastic comebacks, surly glares and steamy interludes! Hayson Manning pulls out her sparkling wit and bulks it up with warm and cozy vulnerabilities that give life to characters we can all identify with. Zan and Daisy's conflict was great but their capitulation to love was titanic! Watching this couple process their growing affection for each other as they littered the pages with mistakes and kisses was so much fun! This author's writing is perceptive, refreshing and skillfully communicated. Rivals with benefits Hayson Manning style is unequivocally the way to go! |

'Taming the CEO' by Hayson Manning is the story of Daisy Cater and Alexander “Zan” Gillard. Zan and Daisy are both after the St. Maarten resort. To have a chance at getting the resort the owner request that they play along with the single type dating scene for four days. Daisy has been keep tabs on Zan since he is a competing business. Daisy figured that he too would be after the resort so it wasn't to big of a surprise to see him the week that she is there. Daisy thinks if they 'partner' for the couples activities it will help keep her enemy closure. Zan remembers meeting Daisy at a costume party about 6 months ago...they kissed and Zan hasn't been able to forget it. But this is all business on this trip to win the resort and the bet that him and Daisy had made. Also, Zan has been slowly gathering enough of Daisy business to take it over...something Daisy ins't aware of yet. Zan and Daisy are to opposites attract story for sure. Zan is the carefree, no rules, no list have fun kid of guy. Daisy is nothing but business suits, list and playing by the rules. It was fun watching these two come together and also how they deal with betray. Romeo and Juliet got some stiff competition from Daisy and Zan. Feuding families, business rivals and a match that no one saw coming. Taming the CEO takes it's cues from a classic but decided to lighten the mood. Hayson Manning didn't sugarcoat the odds but spiced up the attraction. Quick, enjoyable tale. |
An advance copy was generously provided by the author through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. 4 Stars **** You know what?? Taming the CEO by Hayson Manning grew on me as I got more into the story. We have two hotel magnates who couldn’t be more different from each other in both their hotels’ genre and their own personalities. Alexander “Zan” Gillard’s family (that is comprised of himself and his two brothers) runs a high end hotel chain, of which Zan is the CEO; Daisy Carter’s family (which is comprised of herself as CEO and her two sisters) run a more down to earth, mom and pop style, hotel chain. Very, very different in their approach, style and how they run things. But now both find themselves vying for a “themed” resort that they think would “plus up” their respective hotel conglomerates. One condition: you have to spend a weekend at this “couples fun” resort to understand what it’s really all about. So in the adage of “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”, Zan and Daisy “pair up” as a couple to find out what it’s all about. And this is where things start to get interesting between our two main characters. The Gillards and the Carters have had a long standing feud for a number of years over past relationships gone bad. Think the Montagues and the Capulets; the Hatfields and the McCoys,….you know….family feud!!!! so Zan and Daisy have a rough start to being a couple. But as they work through their “resort games” and finally end up being handcuffed to one another, there is no denying their attraction to one another. Ms. Manning has spiced her story up with hot and steamy sex, wonderful supporting characters (mainly the siblings of each respective main character), and depth as to why Zan and Daisy are who they are. Of course there are the secrets that each is carrying and won’t share, and Zan is negotiating some things behind Daisy’s back with his brothers for a hostile takeover of the Carter hotels, but in the usual style of a man who has found the soul mate he is meant to be with, he has a change of heart and creates a level playing field for each to compete for the “couple” resort fairly. I hope there will be more stories about these two families. The supporting characters were wonderful and I want to know where the other two sisters go, especially with the other two Gillard brothers. There seems to be something between these two families and I want to know more, especially since at the end these two families have merged their businesses into one. A wonderful romance about enemies to lovers that I truly enjoyed reading and one that I would definitely recommend. |

This is an awesome fun, sexy read that shouldn't be missed. The characters are great, the situation hilarious, and the chemistry off the charts! Daisey and Zan can't remember a time when their families haven't been at war with each other. So when they are forced to spend time at a resort they both want to buy for their family's hotel lines they can't believe their luck when they are partnered at a couples retreat. And that's just the beginning of the fun to come! I highly recommend this one. |
in the story of two competing hotel chain ceos, taming the ceo, rivals daisy and zan get the chance to get to know each other up close and personal on a mandatory retreat before they submit competing proposals to take over a luxury resort chain. their rivalry isn't just restricted to business. their families have been one-upping each other since their great-grandparents' time. and even though they swear to keep their walls up and defenses on alert during their retreat, the intense chemistry and the fun easy way they have with one another makes the distance hard to maintain. but zan is keeping a secret. he has a plan to buy out daisy's hotel chain from under her. if he succeeds his family can declare victory once and for all. but can he put his family's business over his personal relationship with daisy? can his brothers, who seem to have their own tangled histories with daisy's sisters do the same thing? both daisy and zan have to learn to open themselves up to new experiences. daisy needs to trust that people who love her won't leave her behind and zan needs to learn that sometimes the line between business and personal gets blurred, but there are ways to handle it. all in all, this is a quick read. there's more story to be had with daisy's sisters and zan's brothers, and i kind of want to see what happens there. |
OMG what a cracker of a story this one is I couldn’t put it down between cheering Daisy on and wanting to hit Zan at times this one had me turning the pages and forgetting about life altogether as these two journey on a very sexy and steamy romp to one hell of a game of twister and a beautiful HEA. Daisy Carter and her sisters have been left in charge of the family hotel chain and they are working hard to save the business when Daisy as CEO goes off to St Maarten to bid for a new singles resort only to find that she is paired up with her arch enemy due to a long running old family feud the CEO of another hotel chain Alexander “Zan” Gillard. There is chemistry aplenty on their meeting but Daisy is so determined to win this bid so keeping your enemy close it better right?, but being handcuffed together makes it very hard to deny her body’s needs. Zan and his brothers are doing a lot to take control of the Carter business you see Zan is all about business that is all that matters besides his brothers and he is so sure that his company will win this bid on the Levi resorts that keeping Daisy close is the better way, I mean he is never going to fall in love especially with someone that is so different from him lists and rules everything must run smoothly where Zan is a go get man and when their relationship blossoms business and personal are two totally different worlds according to Zan that is. Truly I loved this one from start to finish, it ticks all of the boxes for a fabulous romance it is fast paced and has everything in it a steamy sensual romance that you will need a fan for at times and of course just the right amount of angst with betrayal and hurt and then making up (love the making Up). I highly recommend this one MS Manning has written another amazing story that will pull the reader in and hook you from the start. I really loved Daisy and Zan and I am looking forward to getting to know the brothers and sisters, thank you MS Manning for another keeper awesome story. |
Oh my the yumminess of the cover of Taming the CEO by Hayson Manning. I could totally picture Alexander Gillard (Zan). Anyway, this was interesting story, because we have these two families who despise one another thanks to an age old feud. Think Hatfields and the McCoys. So, we Zan and Daisy Carter who are competing to win a resort in San Maarten. Nothing wrong with that, but they have to compete as a couple to see all the benefits the resorts has to offer before they can present their proposals. Oh the animosity between these two at the beginning is fantastic. It's a glorious he said/she said between these two. Each of them believes their siblings would never lie or steal. However, as they go about the competitions lines are cross and it brings the game to a whole new level. That's not even the best part, because Zan is planning the game on a whole other level. Business first is his model while Daisy is family. Is he willing to sacrifice everything he has worked on for Daisy. Seriously, Hayson does an amazing job at telling story with a feud and deceit. Honestly, I want to know if his brothers will get with Daisy's sisters. Seriously, that would be AMAZING. Anyway, pretty awesome read all that goes on in the story. If you are looking for a pretty good enemies to lovers story, Taming the CEO is a pretty good pick. Copy provided by Entangled via NetGalley Rating: 4 1/2 Stars |

Loved this book! Wow - this is a great story! Daisy and Zan are CEO's competing for the same contract that forces each bidder to spend four days at the resort they're trying to buy. Because they've both procrastinated they end up there at the same time and end up partnered together for a series of couples challenges. Despite despising each other, they have to find a way to work together, while also working in opposition, to get through the four days. This book is at times sweet, at times spicy, while ranging from extreme emotional highs to extreme emotional lows. While knowing we could count on a HEA, the author told the story is such a way that I felt invested in the characters and cared about their story, while weaving it in such a way that I couldn't see how she was going to bring it about. Fans of the genre will love this book. I've added the author to my must read authors' list. |
Honestly I don't enjoy giving a bad review but, honestly first off I really do not enjoy third person writing books, and I think this might have ruined a pretty good book elsewise. I could not connect with either character and just couldnt get into the story.. |
When two CEO's come together you know there is going to be a power struggle. Zane and Daisy head their families hotel chain. When they both are at a retreat to expand their hotel empire they are tossed together to see who will come out on top. Zan doesn't follow the rules whereas Daisy lives and dies by them. The chemistry between these two is explosive and highly entertaining! |
This is another new author for me. Hayson Manning can really write a good romance. This book took my emotions on a roller coaster ride. I did not know when I was going to cry or laugh. A modern Romeo and Juliet. This book is about Daisy, one of three triplets and CEO of Carter Hotels. She is on her way to a retreat for couples to meet their soul mates. She is not happy about doing it and is only doing it to win the bid for the retreat to save her family's business. Alexander, better known as Zan, is at the same retreat for the same reason, except he is out as a rival not saving a failing business but taking one. Things really get heated and tempers fly. Will Daisy be able to save her family's business and keep her heart intact? I really enjoyed this book. I cried, laugh and had some no he didn't moments. I really got caught up in the story as if it were a movie. If I put down the book, it would be like closing my eyes and missing something. I fell in love with the characters. Daisy and her witty shy nature and Zan with his tough smart ass I get what I want attitude. These two characters have such a pull towards each other. The chemistry is strong. The story flowed smoothly and flawlessly. The story was not rushed and the author took her time developing the plot and the characters. I will definitely add this author to my reads list. |
*Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review* Loved it! There was drama, passion, deceit, humour, family rivalry, and hot chemistry between the two main characters. I laughed, blushed, shook my head at times, and could not stop reading. This was a really good book and it's pretty obvious that the brothers will be getting a book as well. I've never read a book by this author before, but I will be checking out her other work. If your looking for a funny, steamy, enemies to lovers story I suggest you go grab a copy of Taming the Ceo! |
Wonderful romance with a good plot. Solid writing and storybuilding. |

I received this book via Netgalley.com as an Advanced Readers Copy. Zane and Daisy are interesting couple. 1st they are both CEOs, therefore it was hard to figure out who was being tamed. But then I realized that they tamed each other, for different reasons. Each of them are at a resort that helps couples find love. They are there to survey the resort to acquire for their respective companies. Coupled together, they face the challenges required of the guests. Add a bitter feud between the families, a little wager on who wants out first, all just makes it this book a little sweeter. Zane is fly by the seat of his pants and fearless. Daisy is structured, innocent, and fearful. These two compliment each other. The twists that came at them , some were expected and some were not. Made for an interesting read. It took me a little to get on board with these two characters. Their chemistry wasn't as instant for me as it was written in the book. Yet, as the story builds they will draw you in. |
I really loved this book and found it a book that I could not put down. I loved all the twists and turns. |

Daisy keeps her life organized by making lists for everything. Zan doesn't fit into any of her lists. Zan has a plan to make Daisy admit that her sister tried to sabotage his family's business. And then he plans on taking over her family hotel business. He believes that business can be kept separate from an affair with Daisy. Unfortunately emotions get involved for both of them. I teared up when he broke her heart. Awesome writing can do that every time. |
First: I don't like the covers of these books. I chose this book purely based on the author and the blurb. I liked her Bounty Hunter book. Daisy Carter and Zan Gillard are CEO's of rival hotel chains with a longstanding feud. Both in the running for the acquisition of an important resort, they are asked to visit the resort and take part in a 4 day event. Attraction soares, but behind Daisy's back Zan is plotting to buy all necessary shares to acquire the Carter company. He is convinced business and personal should not mix and that their relationship will survive the fallout. But will it? Even when it was really quite formulaic I did enjoy this story. I just had a bit of a hard time believing Daisy and her sisters being business women, but I did like Daisy a lot and was mad with her twin sister at some point. It is obvious both brothers and sisters are stories waiting to happen... |
This is a good story with well rounded and great characters. There are also interesting circumstances that keep the story interesting and the intimate scenes are hot and well done. |
