This is a quick read that is heartbreaking beautiful. When Riley moves to a new town after her husband dies the very last thing on her mind is a new relationship. She wants a new start and has some wonderful friends that she enjoys very much.

When she is introduced to her friend's brother, Brian, that will Grabd Marshall the parade while riding in Riley 's car she feels an immediate attraction.

Lt. Colonel Stone has been in the Army for 20 and now he's home after an IED has taken both his legs. When he meets Riley he is instantly attracted to not only her beauty but also her quick wit.

This couple is going to feel things out and see if there's anything there or not. But some major speed bumps are there along the wax. Will it be something that breaks then or makes them stronger?

I wasn't a huge fan of this book. The story was good and relevant but I got tired of the language and descriptive sex scenes.

Riley Logan had lost her husband in the line of duty as a police officer. He had been the only person who had ever cared for her. She had moved to Magnolia Springs after his death to start over again and try to get over her grief.

Lieutenant Brian Stone had returned from Afghanistan and had retired from the Army due to the loss of both legs in a IED explosion. He suffered from PTSD and loss, too.

After helping organize a charity event for veterans in their community, they began to see how alike they were and the attraction between the two of them was off the charts. Brian was offered an opportunity that would take him back into a dangerous area and Riley had to decide if that would be a deal breaker for her. Could she love and support a man who could possibly die doing a dangerous job again? She didn't know if her heart could withstand just a devastating loss.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Um, not sure she really needed to know that, Abby.

He's going to spend time openly exposed like that? Is that some kind of aversion therapy?

At least he can make jokes?

Cute kid.

I feel bad that she's always braced for yelling.

She thinks he would kiss her to punish her for her rudeness?

That is one complicated family.

Good speech. Brian.

They sewed his finger back on?! The way he talks, he got a boo-boo.

I call them lightning bugs, and I'm from New York.

What makes her so sure she's infertile?

Maggie is a witch. Is she bipolar?

He could die in America, too.

Never drive when you're upset.
